Yates Buick GMC Reviews (30)

I purchased the vehicle new in Elyria OH. I took it back twice with a clunking noise and an air compressor that would howl on occasion. They could not fix it. I took it to a Chevy dealer in Westlake ohio and they could not fix it.

Ashley in your service department listened to my problem took the time to get to the bottom of it. Conferred with a mechanic and fixed everything the first time. She was very accommodating and nice. Because of the treatment I received from your service department and because they fixed what the others dismissed as my imagination, I will be your customer for life. My next new car will come from your dealership.

The shuttle driver, was also very nice.

Excellent! Great Staff, Timely Service, Very Comfortable Service Waiting Lounge.

Service advisor was very helpful and very knowledgeable

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

Regards,

The customer [redacted] bought a used 2013 Dodge Charger.  She claims that it was promised as a demo car.  We sell only GM vehicles new so therefore it would be impossible for us to sell a Dodge demo in the first place. This vehicle was sold as a used car.  She came to me and...

said that this was a rental and had no factory warranty.  It was a rental car I called Dodge come to find out it does have a full factory warranty. Due to the scratch and previous paint repair on bumper this was not a warranted repair. I then offered to split the cost of the repair with her to fix the bumper $200 of a $400 repair. We choose to split the cost to make a customer happy.

I would first like to address the September 3, 2014 concern. I apologize for the confusion. I understand she was quoted a job time of 3-4 hours and it was finished in an hour and a half. This is a very easy and common practice to explain. We had two techs working on one vehicle....

The tech times are based on one person with twice the manpower done twice as fast but that does not reduce your hourly rate or the quality because there is still the same amount of tech time used. This was explained in detail back when this first took place and Ms. [redacted] was satisfied with that answer. The job was performed correctly. As for why they did not replace her rotors during this job it was unnecessary at the time. Yates would never suggest unnecessary repairs. Ms. [redacted] has made multiple appointments and canceled three leading up to this most recent appointment. We are happy to have her business and would love to assist in any way possible. Her brakes have been checked and are fully functioning within the normal range. Unfortunately there is no wrong doing and therefore I will not be participating in any monetary way.[redacted]General MangerYates Buick GMC

We have contacted the customer and he is providing us with a copy of the receipt for the tire and we will be reimbursing him for that repair.

They told me it would take an hour and a half, and it only took 45 mins! Pretty happy with that! Very trustworthy people, and I would highly recommend them.

Yates dealership is extremely courteous, friendly, and professional at all times. They also dress very nicely. The dealership is always very clean and spotless and even the restrooms stay clean and spotless and smell good at all times. They also offer free snacks and drinks while you wait for your vehicle to be serviced. And most importantly they always take very very good care of my vehicle when I bring it in for service. I would highly recommend them not only to purchase your vehicle to service your vehicle as well.

Todd J[redacted] was Awesome! He answered my questions on the test drive and if he didn't have the answer right then he investigated and got the answer for me. I would definitely recommend him and Yates to friends. Todd called and emailed us a few days later to ask how we liked our Yukon. LOVING IT! Kelley R[redacted] was very helpful as well. He taught me all about the new gadgets on the Yukon. Both gentlemen were very helpful and extremely personable! Already bragging to coworkers that I bought my Yukon at Yates!

We have gone above and beyond to help this customer.  We put $2100 dollars of reconditioning to this vehicle in question.  It is safe and very nice used car key word being used.  It is not new a new car but was well taken care of purchased with us traded...

back to us. The vehicle was very well inspected and reconditioned there is nothing out of the ordinary for a car of this age.  We gave him the option to get out of his contract he declined.   There will be no further action.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.[Provide details of why you are not satisfied with this resolution.]     It is true they offered me to cancel the contract but were the business is being dishonest is that I did not decline, I told the sales manager [redacted] that I would like to take his offer in flat line canceling the contract, and [redacted] said okay im going to get a hold of the bank to cancel and he would get back to me,  like I stated on the complaint this is where they kept dragging their feet and giving me the run around after I would try contacting them and leaving various voicemails until [redacted] finally answered me about a week later after his offer and thats when he told me that it was too late to cancel the contract... if they would actually do what they offer, keep their word and not purposely let time drag on since I asked for the repairs to be made,  we wouldnt be here. theres no way that a transmission and oil pan wet by engine oil can pass any inspection...  also it's ridiculous that they sell you a yates advantage warranty for 889 dollars that claims to have a 90 peace at mind warranty, covering under it "seals and gaskets" and wont fix my oil pan "gasket" so much for peace at mind...  regardless the vehicle being used yates sold me a car that should have never passed any inspections and warranty that they dont assume responsibility for.

Regards,

Yes we have resloved his issue.  He was in fact given a 90 day coverage on a 2005 car which normally does not quallify. Due to are mistake we are happy to honor this and  have done so already. [redacted]  [redacted] Please call if you have any questions

My elderly mother wanted to purchase a vehicle with a towing package for her small trailer. She specifically stated her needs and requested that they show her these types of autos. Ultimately, we were shown a pre-owned vehicle and were told by two sales individuals that it had a "factory installed" towing package. In addition, we were walked over to a sales poster that shows a towing package on a “the vehicle” and what is installed with it, i.e., cooling package, etc. Unfortunately, we did not know they were showing us a different vehicle. We were assured several times that the vehicle had the package so she purchased the vehicle. The towing issues was not a casual conversation, we spoke about it several times. Two weeks later, we discovered that it did not have the towing package. She then called Yates Pontiac and they denied stating that to her. I can tell you that this was a conversation that she had with them several times during the buying process, but their interest was in the sale and not the need of the individual. I subsequently spoke with the General Manager, [redacted] who apologized to me, but in a later call to my mother, he was less than sympathetic and stated "circumstances happen". This type of sales experience is exactly why car dealers have a bad name. Shame on Yates Pontiac for taking advantage of an elderly woman and just be sure that if you do business with them, you read the fine print and make them prove to you that what you are buying is the vehicle that they represent.

We understand that there is nothing that they can do at this point as the car has been purchases, cash by the way, and all we want is to make the public aware to be cautious when doing business with this company.

I was going to shop for cars all day Saturday, but I went to Yates and [redacted] and [redacted] were wonderful! They were not pushy, very professional and super friendly. We'll be buying all of our cars there in the future.

Once I decided on a car, the financing was quick and painless and we didn't spend all day dealing with the paperwork.

We bought a 2015 Yukon Denali! Love the vehicle and love the service we received from the salesman to the finance department. The General Manager was also very personable and knowledgeable he gave us first rate service.

I went to see a truck that I found online, when I got there the truck didn't look nothing like on the picture. There where dirty socks inside the truck, and when I said I dont want to make a deal the manager threw my keys on the table and told me he just wasted his time on nothing. And I took maybe 15 min of his time. Really poor customer service, I wouldn't go there again

Review: On July 17,2013, I purchased a 2013 [redacted]. It did not have a Navigation system from the factor. I was told that they could have one install for an additional $1500.00. I wrote a check for that amount. I left the car there and the company called me two days later, said the car was ready with the navigation system installed. This system has never worked, even three of the employees (two service men, [redacted] and [redacted]) and a sales representive,( [redacted],) agreed that it did not work, a sales manager([redacted]) said "it works, but not like it should". From now until approximately two weeks ago, I have been trying to get it to functin properly. It got to the point where they stopped answering or returning phone calls. Last week, the sales manager told me that they could not refund my money. He added that, the GPS works, but it not what he would have suggested to put in. His rationale for not returning my money is that they "contracted with a company, Yates don't put them in. When I asked or tried to talk with his boss. I was told that he had already talked to him and that was his decision.Desired Settlement: I was refused a refund.

Review: I purchased a 2015 Subaru Forester with the Premium Package. The car was advertised as stock with a well-defined set of Subaru features including GPS with radio and steering wheel controls to operate the system.

My issues with this vehicle include the following;

1) The stock/original Subaru GPS/Bluetooth/radio/Bluetooth found in the Premium package was replaced with an aftermarket JVC off brand device. It is not capable of navigation, GPS, Bluetooth and it doesn't connect to the steering wheel functions.

2) No owner's manual.

Below is an email from Matthew Van Horne, Internet Manager, stating the equipment included and his personal opinion of the vehicle. This information is of the type that was used to purchase the vehicle. Their internet postings included similar information, leading me to believe this was a "Factory" version with all-Subaru parts. There was never any mention of non-factory parts. Verbal discussions also took place. None of these mentioned missing documentation, off-brand/aftermarket parts and non-functioning options.

"Don,

Here is the email you asked for that lists all of the equipment that is on the vehicle.

It's a 2015 Subaru Forester Premium

-White Pearl exterior paint

-Tan cloth interior

-Backup camera

-Sunroof

-DVD

-Bluetooth connectivity

-Eyesight Safety

-Cruise control

-Power locks, mirrors and windows

-Heated seats

-Aux/USB Port

Additionally, if you have a score of 760 or above (credit wise) there are rates as low as 2.49% for 60 months. Perhaps 1.9% if you go a shorter term.

I look forward to moving forward with you guys on this decision. Feel free to ask any more questions you may have.

The car is in great shape, and I am not just saying that. I can't speak for all the trade ins we get, but this one came to us in excellent shape.

Talk to you soon,

Matthew Van Horne

Internet Manager"

I also purchased the "Yates Advantage" which was useless.

There was no resolution after a number of emails were sent and calls made.Desired Settlement: Yates would replace the existing radio with a standard/original Subaru GPS/Bluetooth/radio found in the Premium package. The replacement would include installation by a qualified dealer. Another option would be to refund the cost of a replacement system including installation. The quote received from a Subaru dealership is 2360. for the GPS/radio/Bluetooth device and 160. for installation. Total: $2520. I would also like a refund for the 299. spent for the Yates Advantage.

When I started my buying experience from this dealership six years ago I had a great experience with the sales and service staff. In the past two years this dealership has drastically changed. When I bought my second vehicle from them I trusted that I was being told the truth about the vehicle I was buying - bottom line, I trusted this business at the time. After buying the vehicle I found out that they had lied to me about the worth of the vehicle and gave me much less than what my trade-in was worth and I now owe $10,000 more on this vehicle than what it is worth. I was a loyal customer that always had my vehicle serviced at this business but now I don't trust them at all.
