Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID#[redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

This is a high -pressure sales room, like the toner salesmen of the 1980s. Except these people ruin businesses that decline to buy their product. I don't know of any other legal businesses that intimidate you into buying services, 'or else'. Is this even a real business? or just a sales room with extortion tactics, willing to do anything for commission, that coaches sales people to be rude, pushy, intimidating and punishes people that don't want to hire them.. If the [redacted] is the only phone number I have  listed on their services-across the board and the old address/phone from 2011 is the ONLY phone number showing on any listing I have, why is this company calling me on  my correct phone number that I have used, advertised and listed since 2011? How did they even find my number? There is no reason for the other number to come up and my new number to disappear completely.
I hope these people can be investigated for unethical business practices, and preying on poor self-employed people.I wonder how many people this company has destroyed in selling[extortion]  their service? How many hard working self-employed people trying to make a living in a bad economy-have lost their business to to their monkey business? I told them I could not afford their services months ago, , yet I am still on their sales list, and when they call, my info some how reverts to outdated info, using my full name and full face photos[which I have not used publicly, since 2011] This company has unethical business practices and should be looked into, they deny everything and refuse to alter their unethical business practices. That alone raises a red flag.

This is in reference to Complaint # (ID# [redacted]). [redacted] reached out to us via Facebook to let us know his Facebook page had been changed through Yext. This was an unfortunate incident that occurred through [redacted]' parent company, [redacted], who is a client of Yext's. Unfortunately,...

data which was provided from [redacted] to Yext included [redacted]' franchise location data. This should not have been included, but unfortunately was a part of an upload Yext then conducted to update location data for [redacted]'s other franchise locations for which it conducts marketing for. When we received [redacted]' message, we passed the message along to the account manager for [redacted], who reached out directly to [redacted]'s Head of Digital Marketing to ensure the Facebook page would be turned back over to [redacted]. The Head of Digital Marketing reached out to [redacted] personally to explain what happened and apologize. The Facebook page has since been updated and is back in [redacted]' hands. If [redacted] has any other questions, he is more than welcome to reach out to us at any time at [redacted] Thank you,Yext

To Whom it May Concern,I am writing in regards to Revdex.com complaint #[redacted] believed that Yext was supplying incorrect information to Yahoo, and that paying Yext was the only way to update these listings. [redacted] had not purchased the Yext service. I explained how Yext works, in that we...

have no control of his listings or ability to manage them without a subscription.  I explained the Yahoo Free Basic Listing submission options and sent instructions on how to sign up for this. I also outlined some possible sources for the incorrect information, and sent him contact information via email for these possible sources. [redacted] understood this, so he will now set out to correct the listings by other means. Supervisor of Client Support, Yext

To Whom It May Concern, This is regarding NYRevdex.com Complaint #[redacted].  [redacted] was having some difficulty claiming her business for free on [redacted].  She was under the impression that Yext was extorting money from her business and had removed her listing.  I called [redacted]...

and had a really nice conversation with her on the phone regarding her situation.  After explaining that Yext can only power or edit listings for businesses that have paid subscriptions for our service, I was able to walk [redacted] through submitting a free claim for her business listing.  Everything was settled with [redacted] during our call and I'm glad we were able to get in touch so I could hear her feedback and I could assist her in going through the [redacted] Free Claims process. If we can assist in any other way, please let us know.  Best regards,

To Whom It May Concern, This is regarding NYRevdex.com Complaint #[redacted], where [redacted] requested to cancel his account so it would not be charged again.  I spoke with [redacted] on the phone and we were able to resolve the complaint amicably.  We are happy to assist in any other way...

This is in reference to Complaint (ID# [redacted]). Our Support Team reached out to [redacted] to discuss her issues with [redacted] and explain how our partnership with [redacted] works. In our outreach, our Support Team explained that when [redacted] was planning on eliminating free claims altogether, Yext...

partnered with [redacted] to save that program by taking over the verification process. [redacted] is ultimately the final decision maker when it comes to their listings. Yext is doing our part to help them maintain free claims and data quality standards. However, we do not have control over what listings are created, edited, or removed from their site. If [redacted] is interested in submitting an escalated claim to [redacted] regarding your listing she can submit a request to their escalated claims team at [redacted]Additionally, Since [redacted] does not have a paid account with Yext, we haven't provided any information about her business to any search directories. We can only manage the listings of businesses that have a paid subscription with us. Any listings that aren't powered through our service have not been edited or created by Yext. Listings can often be created on the web from a multitude of sources, and our mission is to assist business owners with updating and syncing their information across the web. When a change is verified through your free Yext dashboard, the information is submitted to [redacted] receives this information from the submission through your Yext account, at which point [redacted] will decide what to do with the information from there. For this reason, there is no guarantee that the information will update on the listing. If [redacted] has any other questions, she is more than welcome to contact us at any time at [redacted]

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID#[redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

I directly have been updating my info on these sites one by one. If I am not on a site, it is because it is not used in my area. They need to stop changing my information, listing incorrect addresses, and my phone # has not changed for years. I have no idea wherthe old [redacted] number used on one outdated site is from, because they are calling to harass me on my correct business phone number..  I am changing my own listing. I have to do it myself- You can't get blood from a turnup.

Hi [redacted],I am writing regarding NYRevdex.com Complaint #[redacted].  The phone number listed in the complaint is not registered in our system as a lead and as such has never been called by our sales team.  We reached out to our IT team and they have confirmed that your number has been...

receiving calls from a foreign call center using "Yext, Inc." on their caller ID - a common scam with large outsourced call centers. Unfortunately, you are not the only person to receive calls of this nature and reach out to us about it.  We completely understand how frustrating this is for you and it's definitely an issue we need to get resolved, as well.  Yext has been hard at work with phone service providers to clear our name from their caller ID records and hope to have the last of this solved soon.  Thank you for reaching out and please let us know if you have any questions. All the best,Supervisor of Client Support - Yext

To Whom It May Concern:This is regarding NYRevdex.com Complaint ID# [redacted]. The Yext Support Team has added [redacted] contact information, including both email and phone number, to our Do Not Call List. To Whom It May Concern, This is a response to Complaint ID# [redacted]. We passed this on to Mia on our Support Team, who contacted [redacted] right away via phone to explain Yext’s services and how our partnership with Yahoo works. We understand how frustrating it is for companies to correct listing...

information online, but [redacted] can rest assured that we do not have access to her business’s information online, nor are we able to make changes to information if a business is not a customer of ours. Mia provided [redacted] with information on how to contact yahoo directly, as well as information for other data aggregators so that she can contact them and ensure that her business’s information is correct. Yext tries to take away the manual process of doing this, but understand if [redacted] prefers to do this manually rather than paying. We are happy that we were able to point her in the right direction. If [redacted] has any additional questions or needs anything else, she is more than welcome to contact Yext directly at [redacted]

To Whom It May Concern: Thank you for your response.  The original email with the publisher contact information has been resent.  I believe there was an error which prevented it from sending the first time and I apologize for that.I would like to clear up some things about how the Yext service works to address [redacted]’s example about Yext’s relationship with the publisher sites.  When an individual contacts a publisher site and gives them their business information it is a “manual submission.”  Manual submissions are one way in which publisher sites gather information about businesses and a manual submission is not a guaranteed update because it may be trumped by another source’s data.  Publisher sites gather information by crawling other sites, other manual submissions, buying/leasing information from data aggregators, surveying government records, and many other ways.  These other sources are constantly competing to update listings.  Yext differs from this method by not using manual submissions.  When you pay for Yext, you are paying for the technology or software that allows Yext to send business information, along with other proprietary enhanced content, directly to the publisher sites through a feed.  This feed is constantly running which effectively creates a “lock” on the listing – blocking other sources from getting their content on the listings.  That way, when you pay for a subscription with Yext, you know that your business information will not be trumped by another data source.  Therefore, this software is much more effective than the “ten minutes” it would take to do a manual submission on each site, as the example states. Lastly, I would like to touch on the relationship that Yext has with its partner publisher sites.  Some of these publishers have come to a decision to get their data from Yext.  Yext does not own any of the partner sites and this is not a decision that we have forced them to make.  Again, a user can try to manually submit his/her information to a data source that submits to these publishers, but there is no guarantee that the submission will update the listing given all of the competition.  I understand the frustration in being directed to pay to update a listing, but in this age, there are so many sources trying to contribute business information and publisher sites are moving away from free listings in an attempt to get trusted data.  Yext is simply one solution out of many for updating business information on publisher sites.  I completely understand that Yext may not the solution [redacted] is looking for and I wish [redacted]’s business the best of luck with their digital presence management.   Thank you,[redacted] of Client Support - Yext

To Whom It May Concern,This is regarding NYRevdex.com Complaint #[redacted].  I spoke with [redacted] about her situation and how Yext fits into that picture. I have provided a few things for her in this an email as well that will shed a little more light on how Yext works, as well as some information...

that should help her find a solution fits her needs. We understand Yext isn't the right solution for everyone and I hope I'm at least able to point her in the right direction.Yext, throughout its history, has always been very transparent about how our technology works. I have provided an article which explains how Yext works and what happens when you don't have Yext anymore. It gives you a pretty good sense for what our proprietary technology does and what life is like with and without Yext. It also speaks to the fact that we only have the ability to update a listing if the business has an account.  Since [redacted] does not, we have no way of editing her listings in any way.[redacted]As far as next steps for [redacted], I have provided her with an Excel spreadsheet that contains contact information for the local search sites that we work with. This will help her if she chooses to manually reach out to the sites to correct her information. I also provided her with the names of two alternative services to use to correct her information. These other services are aggregator solutions. That means that they submit your business information to aggregators who then distribute that information to tons of different sites. While this solution is much cheaper and can be effective, it often takes months and there is no guarantee or lock. My other suggestion to her was to use a local marketing company in her area. There are tons out there that do a fantastic job and could work with her needs. I recommended just digging in and doing some research to see what's best for her and her company.I understand that marketing for a small business is super important and so is her time so I hope this information helps. If we can be of any further assistance in the future, please do not hesitate to reach out.Thank you,Supervisor of Client Support - Yext

To Whom This May Concern: This is in reference to Revdex.com Complaint #[redacted]. Our Support Supervisor, Giulia, reached out directly to [redacted] and apologized for any conflicting information he may have received from the Support staff. Additionally, she provided clarification around how our...

partnership with [redacted] works and how the verification process works. [redacted] responded that he did submit his listing for verification and that there may have been a miscommunication with [redacted] and Yext. Giulia then spoke with him on the phone to further explain our partnership with Yahoo, and to let him know that she escalated the issue with Yahoo. She followed up with an email with contact information on how to reach out to [redacted] directly to ensure the listing is accurate. Additionally, Giulia provided information for other aggregators where publishers get their sources from, which may be causing the incorrect information to appear on his listing. [redacted] responded to say that the information on the data aggregator, InfoUSA, was helpful as that may have been where the bad data was coming from. He was able to make contact with them and update the phone number, which should then be pushed out in their next round of updates. If [redacted] would like to connect with our Support Team or Giulia again, he is more than welcome to contact [redacted] at any time. We appreciate his helpful feedback and hope that we were able to help [redacted] in our support efforts. Thank you,Yext

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], based on the understanding that Yext was willing to refund my money, and agreed to not dispute the chargeback I find that this resolution is satisfactory to me and the matter has been resolved.

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me and the matter has been resolved. It was obvious the web information came through Yext, but they were not cooperative until recently to dig deep to find a third party provider used Yext to create the erroneous listing. I am in contact now with the third part to update their information that is in error.
Sincerely,

I closed my business in 2014 and this year, Buzzfile started [removed] about my old business. I started to have stalkers on the phone and in public. It asked me to pay to be able to edit and it has to be a one year payment up to $1000. Trying to be an online thief. Are you made in China or USA NY?

Review: As soon as I paid $500 for a one year agreement to help my business become more visible through there services everything changed immediately! My business dropped off the face of the earth! my leads went from 40 plus a month ( on my own ), to ZERO! As my web designer researched further she discovered my company info had been wiped out of visibility in a number of areas. I think this business is a scam at this point. It sure seems like some sort of corruption of my information.Desired Settlement: Either provide the services sold to me or other solution.

Response:

To Whom It May Concern,

Review: The company Yext without my knowledge or permission, stole my business info and credit card information from on line , then waited two weeks ,then started emailing me to view my new listings with their company. These listings had my name and address and a map showing where I live. This is fraud as well as very upsetting! I am a private artist with a very private location in the mountains of [redacted]. I do not want the public to know where I am. I sell my wares out of Galleries in [redacted] and [redacted]. This is not a service I would have applied for, not to mention paid $500.00 dollars that they charged to my Visa.I have informed my credit card company and had to get a new card and filed a dispute.I contacted my Lawyer. I tried a number of times to email the representative and or the support team of Yext. Each of my emails came back except the one that stated they were sorry their company could not help me and they were issuing a refund. No refund has been recorded on my card.Desired Settlement: I want people to know what a scam this is as well as a full refund! I also want a guarantee that Yext will not hack into my info again or fuss with my website.

Response:

To Whom It May Concern,This is regarding NYRevdex.com Complaint #[redacted]. [redacted] claimed that she did not intend to sign her business up for the Yext service. When she requested to cancel the service, it was cancelled and a full refund was issued to [redacted]’s credit card.I was not able to get in touch with [redacted], but I did speak on the phone with her husband who was familiar with the situation. We spoke at length about the details of [redacted]'s account and that it ultimately had been cancelled and refunded in full. [redacted] confirmed that they have received the full refund but still believed we obtained the credit card information illegally. [redacted] received marketing materials from Yext and visited our website the morning of March [redacted], 2015. As an online service, any one is free to purchase our service through our online flow. Any information collected during that process is entered in the new account and reference for any/all communication and transactions with Yext. After spending time on our website, using our free scan to see how her business listings appeared on different local search directories, and receiving a voice mail and email from a sales representative [redacted] purchased a subscription through our website. The online flow on our website for purchasing a subscription is very similar to purchasing otherproducts or services online. A subscription package was selected, the relevant business information including business name, address, phone number, description, and website were added, credit card information was added, the check box to agree to the terms and conditions of service was checked, and the “Place Your Order” button was clicked. The order was place on March [redacted] at 9:03am EST. As the service started that day, [redacted] began to receive emails from Yext. These emails provided log in information, confirmed that her listings were going “live,” offered her a complimentary training call, among other things. Next, [redacted] emailed our Support Team requesting to cancel her account. Support attempted to reach out to [redacted]by email and phone in order to help her process her request. When they were unable to reach her, her account was cancelled as she requested with a full refund. I would like to apologize for any frustrations and I would be happy to discuss this in more detail with [redacted] if she wishes. Thank you, [redacted] - Yext
