The actual service was fantastic, but if you want "UP FRONT AND TRANSPARENT RATES" you are going to be disappointedI was initially quoted $for a hour move which seems fairHowever not until after they had moved all of my stuff was I told there was an additional $"State Mandated" vehicle feeYou would think that this would be in the quoteI thought I had messed up reading the fine print, which would be fine, I signed the agreement, so I paidBut after they left I went back and reread the agreement and they had marked the vehicle fee as $in the initial estimateSo, either they are careless and incompetent or deceptive and trying to underquote and overchargeThey even conceded that they had made a mistake and took $offIf I misread something do you really think they would take $off the bill? I didn't think soThey admitted multiple times they messed up their quote and I'm still down $dollarsGreat business you guys are running On the positive side, the delivery men were very professional and everything was handled with care and speed

The movers at this company are extremely professional and efficient, however, I can NOT say the same for the managementUnfortunately, this is your typical moving company that most people would WARN you to STAY AWAY from because they will quote you one price but once the job is done that price will have completely changed and it will be much higherPLEASE BE WARNED!!!!!!! This company did not come out to do a walk through but instead asked me to tell them over the phone the items I needed to move and gave me a price based on that(I named everything in my house and offered to count the boxesThere were no major appliances) When they arrived all items were packed and ready to be loaded on the truckThey even made the comment that they had not seen anyone as packed and organized as I wasI only had a one bedroom apartment and was given an estimate that it would take a maximum of 1/hours to complete the jobThe individual who scheduled the move said she didn't anticipate it taking that long but she wanted to estimate the max just to give me an idea of the most I would have to payI spoke to this individual twice just to confirm everything, and I even asked if there would be any surprises or additional cost once the movers showed up, because of my past experiences, and each time I was quoted the same price and told there wouldn't be any additional cost I must say there was a slight hiccup due to me having to change units once we arrived at ** storage, which by the way was less than minutes from my apartment in Little ItalyBut once the job was complete, which ended up taking about hours and minutes, they told me my price was $dollars more than what was originally quotedWhen I inquired as to why it was so much more it was explained that it was because I was quoted a price based on a maximum of ½ hours and since it went over I was changed $for each minutes over that timeBecause I was sitting out in front of the storage and didn't have documentation to prove what I was quoted, the move coordinator told me he would credit me back the difference after reviewing the phone call and verifying my original quoteAfter a week of not getting an answer I was finally told that the additional $dollars was based on me having more boxes and them having to walk further to get to the elevator along with them sending additional guys to the moveHe admitted that he heard me being told about the ½ hours which was the original disputeBut after he admitted to hearing that, the justification for the overcharge changed to me having more boxes, which I was told didn't matter as long as I wasn't using their boxes…them having to walk further, which should be accounted for in the timeframe…and them sending additional guys to the move, which I never asked for a particular number of movers in the first place
I would NOT recommend this company to anyone and if you choose to use this company PLEASE PLEASE get everything in writing and make sure all the blanks are filled in on your contractThe contact is extremely vague and they leave a lot of things on it blankAlso, PLEASE know that they make you give your credit card number prior to confirming the moveSo even if you dispute the amount at the end they are going to get their money
BTW… I was offered a Starbucks gift card for any inconvenienceHow insulting!!!

Thank you very much for taking the time to review You Move MeYour input, and the feedback from all of our customers is vitally important to us and we always want to meet our customers expectationsPer your comments, we have updated our booking process even more to further ensure that
customers understand we are an hourly company Although outlined in detail in the booking packet and work orders, moving is a stressful time and occasionally this if overlooked by a customerWe sincerely apologize if you did not know this in advanceWe have taken even greater steps to ensure that every customer understands the estimating and billing process . As stated in the signed booking packet and work orders, We offer an hourly service to our customers and as a courtesywe make every effort to provide an accurate estimate for your moveOccasionally, there are variables such as access that can affect your estimated hours As in your case, the accessibility of your apartment at both locationsThe original estimate was for 30-estimated man hours for both packing and movingThis estimate did not include supplies and a $discount was extendedOn the day of your pack, the crew lead addressed these concerns with you and a fourth man was agreed upon for your move The final bill for your move was plus supplies, again not included in your original estimateUnfortunately, the actual amount of hours to pack and move your home exceeded the estimated man hours and, as a courtesy , another $discount was extendedBecause of the nature of both locations (long walks, elevators, stairs) the actual pack and move time exceeded the original time estimate and we certainly understand your disappointmentWe desire to meet the expectations of our customers and throughout our booking process we make every effort to ensure that our customers understand we are an hourly service and you will be billed in minute incrementsBecause every home is unique, we aim to provide an estimate of the hours needed to successfully pack and move each customer’s belongings. Our crews worked hard to pack and move your belongings in the allotted time and appreciated your generous gratuitiesI hope this clears up your concerns and we hope to see you again in the future

None of that is true. I offered times to have them come and see the damage to my house, they wouldn't come to look at it. I also asked how they would fix the damage, and by their description they would not fix it the right way. You can't just paint over holes and you can't paint over a big hole in the bull nose round edge of the wall. They haven't offered any solution to me personally. They asked me for what the damage was, I gave it to them along with pictures and costs for the items. They haven't proposed any solutions. I had to pay a contractor $to fix the damage to my old house. They did make me sign the contract and wouldn't even let me read it. It's on an ipad, and they wouldn't leave my house until I signed it. They told me I "had" to sign it. They also didn't give me the agreed upon "not to exceed" amount. And they exceed their quote by 250%. They scam people into a lowball bid and then charge them times more without telling the customer.

Our estimates are built on what the customer tells us is in their home.  For example, if you were to request I estimate moving a fridge and a piano it would cost $238.  If upon arrival, there was a couch and a storage unit added, then it would be more than the original estimate.
On all of over estimates, booking packets, and work orders we take the time to review this component of the estimating process.  We charge hourly and upon arrival we tell the customer exactly what we think it will take in terms of time.  This is when we actually see the home and the items.
Until that time, we cannot be responsible for items not told to us, issues of access or unusual furniture, and/or weather.  This is according to the Public Utilities Commission guidelines which were also given (twice) to the customer.
It is unfortunate the estimate did not reflect the actual items we moved nor the access that we were provided.  However, this information all came from the customer.

Th estimate was done by one of the company's employees whose last name is Jericho. He entered our condo and based his estimate on his own eyesight. The implication that we somehow provided incorrect information is simply untrue. I must say I would never use this company again. It might help to ask your own employees about what happened when a compliant has been made.

The actual service was fantastic, but if you want "UP FRONT AND TRANSPARENT RATES" you are going to be disappointed. I was initially quoted $238 for a 2 hour move which seems fair. However not until after they had moved all of my stuff was I told there was an additional $154 "State Mandated" vehicle fee. You would think that this would be in the quote. I thought I had messed up reading the fine print, which would be fine, I signed the agreement, so I paid. But after they left I went back and reread the agreement and they had marked the vehicle fee as $0 in the initial estimate. So, either they are careless and incompetent or deceptive and trying to underquote and overcharge. They even conceded that they had made a mistake and took $50 off. If I misread something do you really think they would take $50 off the bill? I didn't think so. They admitted multiple times they messed up their quote and I'm still down $104 dollars. Great business you guys are running.

On the positive side, the delivery men were very professional and everything was handled with care and speed.

I do not except this response from the moving company. I was in the hospital when the move took place. I have a receipt from him showing they only had 2 men working and they only worked 2 hrs on the move. That is why my realtor came to help because they wouldn't do all the move. When there truck was empty they said we are tired and wouldn't take the rest? I can send you my back up showing his receipt which I never paid for. He told my realtor [redacted] he would do it for free. I never signed or even Knew which movers did my move. Nevertheless he broke items and did not move items so they got taken or stolen because they were sitting out on the porch. And some of the stuff in the house is broken. I feel this is a bad way of doing business and I want to know what happen to my stuff. He's pushing over on the other realtor which I believe she did take what was left. But it was his fault thatit was taken. My Realtor gave him a job to do and he did not finish it so my items were stolen. Is that my fault when I not even there. I feel this is Elder Abuse and both parts. I will get to the bottom of it one way or the other. He says nothing was broken he wasn't there to see what was going on. He's tring to cover up his mistake and he doesn't want to take the blame. I had an old Grandfather clock that was broken in half. One of his workers couldn't see that. They didn't open one by one box to see if everything was ok on his inventory sheet was abut 10 items thats it. I f you read his email all he is interested in is money. Well I never signed anything or agreed to anything for him to move me. So he needs to pick up his responsibilty and do what is right. He Has nevr even come over to see the stuff that is broken or told me what was left. It took me 6 months to find out what was missing. They put a nice couch in the garage and a expense bed in the garage with parts missing for it. I'm just so upset about this move. My ex husband worked for United Van Lines as a mover and never did this happen to him. He finished a job no matter how late it got or how tired he was. And he said I paid him $200 I never gave him anything. Why is he lying about this?
thank you but you can send this letter to him. [redacted]

[The problem with the response is it does not address the main issue. That is an estimate that had nothing in common with the amount we had to pay. Talk of supposed discounts means nothing. The key issue is the relationship of the estimate to the actual charges. Given the fact that the original estimate was for approximately $1900 plus or minus 20% I can only conclude that this was a shameless bait and switch tactic.
