Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
[i asked twice on the phone for a time to meet and once in email.  here is the text: monday at 4. but
I have to ask what your qualifications are for fixing drywall on a
curved surface edge with texture.  that's going to be the most expensive
part.  it will take 2-3 hours.  the second part that will take a hour
or two is the wood railing.  it's chipped.  so they have to sand it,
varnish, then at least 2 coats of poly.  From: [redacted] <[redacted]> To: [redacted] <[redacted]> Sent: Thursday, November 5, [redacted]5 8:35 AM Subject: damages Let me know what that time frame is and ill make sure we are there.as
far as not doing onsite estimates its my job to come to onsites. and I
don’t recall telling anyone we couldn’t do an onsite for there move. so i
do apologize for that!
Take care,------------------he never showed up.  I had to ask permission from my renters to be there and he never showed.  he also clearly explained he did NOT know how to fix the damage and thought he could just "paint over" the big chucks of wood out of the railings.  that is NOT fixing it.  his offer to me last time was something like $6.  seriously?  he caused thousands of dollars of damage.  i'm not asking for thousands of dollars.  he won't even pay for the contractor I paid to fix HIS damage!   ]

Thank you very much for taking the time to review You Move Me. Your input, and the feedback from all of our customers is vitally important to us and we always want  to meet our customers...

expectations. Per your comments, we have updated our booking process even more to further ensure that customers understand we are an hourly company.   Although outlined in detail in the booking packet and work orders, moving is a stressful time and occasionally this if overlooked by a customer. We sincerely apologize if you did not know this in advance.. We have taken even greater steps to ensure that every customer understands the estimating and billing process .  As stated in the signed booking packet and work orders, We offer an hourly service to our customers and as a courtesy. we make every effort to provide an accurate estimate for your move. Occasionally,  there are variables such as access that can affect your estimated hours . As in your case, the accessibility of your apartment at both locations. The original estimate was for 30-34 estimated man hours for both packing and moving. This estimate  did not include supplies and a $200 discount was extended. On the day of your pack, the crew lead addressed these concerns with you and a fourth man was agreed upon for your move The final bill for your move was 2888 plus supplies, again not included in your original estimate. Unfortunately, the actual amount of hours to pack and move your home exceeded the estimated man hours and, as a courtesy , another $460 discount was extended. Because of the nature of both locations (long walks, elevators, stairs) the actual pack and move time exceeded the original time estimate and we certainly understand your disappointment. We desire to meet the expectations of our customers and throughout our booking process we make every effort to ensure that our customers understand we are an hourly service and you will be billed in 15 minute increments. Because every home is unique, we aim to provide an estimate of the hours needed to successfully pack and move each customer’s belongings.  Our crews worked hard to pack and move your belongings in the allotted time and appreciated your generous gratuities. I hope this clears up your concerns and we hope to see you again in the future.

I have all of the emails between me and [redacted], He didn't ask 3 times, We offered to come out he only complained about it and never gave us a time to come out as he was in another country. I have where he refused for us to come fix the scratches in his walls and banister clearly in one of the emails. saying he didn't trust us to fix it.As for the contract, he signed an emailed contract before we ever showed up explaining damages and hourly charges, it was attached to the last correspondence. we did not force him, he had more then enough time to read, initial, sign, and leave a credit card number. We do not do "do not exceed" agreements as we are an hourly based service, which I explained to him over the phone, and was stated in the estimate (emailed to him) and the contract sent to him (that he signed twice).we are willing to settle, but what [redacted] is asking for isn't fair and is not what he agreed to by signing the contract both times prior to the move. You Move MeSan Diego/Orange County[redacted] x[redacted]

Review: Moving company You move Me located in San Diego, CA. Did a move for me and broke lots of items and lost lots of items. They would not complete

I moved on 8/24/14 and my Realtor hired You Move Me. I was in the hospital so I didn't have any idea what was going on. Gabriel Filkey was the moving manager. They load the truck and after it was full they said they were not going to take anymore. So they left my storage and my side patio there. When I opened the boxes there were lots broken and even more missing. So I called this manager and he said there was nothing broken and the stuff left they had a full truck so they just didn't come back for the rest. I didn't get out of hospital for 2 more weeks.. And went to my new home. And it was a mess. They put a good couch in the garage they lost half of my bed. They didn't know where the other stuff was at because they just left it. Didn't at least call me so I could get someone else to pick it up. He says the Moving company was not responsible..I have 2 bicycles,2 heavy duty dollies, tools, electric saw. Just to name a few I have a list. They didn't even do inventory to see if anything was missing. Mr. Filker the manager said he wasn't going to do anything about it because its 5 mts ago and he doesn't think he's responsible. He was very rude and not understanding of my feelings. I'm just lost of all my stuff. He broke my grandfather clock half in too. Because they didn't bother to wrap it. I have figurines that are broken. I've contacted him many times with no results.Desired Settlement: I feel they should replace or refund the value of the stuff that is missing or broken. He is not willing to do anything. He could have taken the rest in a smaller truck but he was tired and didn't want to do anymore.

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID 1[redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.Regards,[redacted]

I do not except this response from the moving company. I was in the hospital when the move took place. I have a receipt from him showing they only had 2 men working and they only worked 2 hrs on the move. That is why my realtor came to help because they wouldn't do all the move. When there truck was empty they said we are tired and wouldn't take the rest? I can send you my back up showing his receipt which I never paid for. He told my realtor [redacted] he would do it for free. I never signed or even Knew which movers did my move. Nevertheless he broke items and did not move items so they got taken or stolen because they were sitting out on the porch. And some of the stuff in the house is broken. I feel this is a bad way of doing business and I want to know what happen to my stuff. He's pushing over on the other realtor which I believe she did take what was left. But it was his fault thatit was taken. My Realtor gave him a job to do and he did not finish it so my items were stolen. Is that my fault when I not even there. I feel this is Elder Abuse and both parts. I will get to the bottom of it one way or the other. He says nothing was broken he wasn't there to see what was going on. He's tring to cover up his mistake and he doesn't want to take the blame. I had an old Grandfather clock that was broken in half. One of his workers couldn't see that. They didn't open one by one box to see if everything was ok on his inventory sheet was abut 10 items thats it. I f you read his email all he is interested in is money. Well I never signed anything or agreed to anything for him to move me. So he needs to pick up his responsibilty and do what is right. He Has nevr even come over to see the stuff that is broken or told me what was left. It took me 6 months to find out what was missing. They put a nice couch in the garage and a expense bed in the garage with parts missing for it. I'm just so upset about this move. My ex husband worked for United Van Lines as a mover and never did this happen to him. He finished a job no matter how late it got or how tired he was. And he said I paid him $200 I never gave him anything. Why is he lying about this?

thank you but you can send this letter to him. [redacted]

Review: This is a moving company that moved my house. They caused damage to my items and they caused damage to the house. I have reached out to them, sent pics, and they have replied by saying its not our fault and they don't really care. They also more than doubled the quote they gave me, and never gave me a "not to exceed" quote. So they just went slow, padded their time and charged me twice as much.

I left them at my old house alone and while they “seemed” to care about doing a good job and taking care of both the house and what they were moving, they caused a lot of damage. Some of which was attempted to cover up a little bit. First they ruined a $2000 bed. I have no idea how you break the structural integrity of a mattress, but the entire side of the mattress is broken and flat (which causes you to fall off the bed). They apparently dropped and broke my $3000 TV. They took a huge chunk out of my wall in my old house, it’s probably 3 inches by 1 inch, as well as scrapped up the walls in a number of places. That will probably cost me $500 to fix all of it and repaint the spots they messed up. BTW, I had repainted the house about 2 months ago, so it was spotless before they got there.

And the biggest scam you have is your quoting system. I got a quote of $1000, and the actual cost was 150% more than that. I asked and damn near begged them to come to my house and give me an onsite quote, but they wouldn’t do it. Your company is non-responsive by email, and won’t reply to texts. After spending an hour on the phone with your scamming sales person, they still weren’t even close to what the actual cost would be.

After all of this- I STILL had to move 2 full SUV loads that they “said” they couldn’t move. Ok, I get it if they don’t empty the fridge and move foods. I don’t get why they won’t move unopened alcohol but whatever, I can do that. But to scam us a bit more, they would put one bottle of vodka in a box with a bunch of other stuff.Desired Settlement: pay for the $600 my contractor said it would take to fix my old house that they have pics of the damage.

plus pay for breaking my bed, my tv and other items.

plus credit for not giving me a real cost and going way over the quoted pricing.

Response:

We have two signed contracts with this person. We offered to send our guy to repair his walls and damage of railing. he refused. we offered to replace his mattress due to the structural damage. as for his tv it has one dead pixel with no external damage as proven in the picture he sent us, according to California law we are not responsible for internal electrical damage as we can not prove it was pre existing. we have asked for certain info from him and he been less then cooperative. He would only demand that we replace everything and give him a credit. The credit he is asking for is more then the value of the agreed upon value that he agreed to in his contract. we have tried to settle things with him but he refuses to accept our offers. also he was explained that we charged per hour, and signed the invoice for amount due and paid it. He says we forced him to sign the contracts. one of the contracts was sent before his move via email, and the other was signed prior to the move. at either time he could have refused our service.
