Young People Working, LLC Reviews (29)

I ordered a subscription June 25, 2015 and have never received one copy of the Disney Jr. magazine I ordered. I tried to contact Young People Working, LLC via internet, but ended up at a sight with a painted picture. That's it. No web site for the Young People Working, LLC was found. I have a receipt but it has no phone number to contact the LLC, just an address in Colorado Springs, CO.

I ordered 2 magazines for my kids a year ago and have never received them. They cashed my check the day after they got it and havent been able to get it resolved yet.

We have had 2 of our sons work for this company. They both only had positive experiences They were told when they took the job for the summer if they were caught with drugs they would be stranded wherever they were. I was very skeptical at first, until I seen with my own eyes the environment they were living in. They sleep 2 in a room, and they are feed 3 meals a day. they were taught some pretty good work ethics. I would recommend this company for anyone who wants to travel and see the country. Our boys spent the last 2 summers with this company. Both of them brought home over $5,000. a piece for their summer work. Yes from what I understand they work long hours, but most of that time is riding around in a car looking at America.

Two young men came to my home selling magazines that could be sent directly to me or to the VA Center for the men and women there. They showed me a brochure regarding Young People Working LLC and told me that they would win a trip to Italy if they earned enough points. I was given an option to choose 8 magazines which the two young men listed on two separate order forms. After choosing the 8 magazines, I was told to select as many as I was able to afford. I chose two (one on each form) as I was told to do. After paying in cash (the young men told me they would get more points for cash payments), I was handed two copies of the order forms. Unfortunately, I didn't review the forms until after the young men left (very hastily I will say) and realized that both copies were the same and there was no notation that I paid in cash or the amount I paid. The two young men were very fast talkers and seemed to know exactly what they were doing. It is my fault that I wasn't more careful to check everything over before they left. The reason for my reporting this is to protect others from what seemed to me to be a scam to pocket any cash payments with the customer having no record of how much they paid. If this business is a legitimate business, it is a shame that there are some young people would do something like this to jeopardize the company's reputation. A "No Solicitations" will be posted on my door ASAP. This experience has left me somewhat leery of what other things may have been on the minds of these two young men.

this company is a complete fraud! My son was lured into working for this company. They took him from [redacted] all the way to the west coast, took his phone so he could not call home, denied him food, abused him and kept the money he made. He did not realize the magazines he was selling would never be sent to the customer. He had bought subscriptions for his family and out of the 10 subscriptions he paid for we have only received 1. He was forced to drive the company vehicle even though the owners [redacted] knew he did not have a valid license. He was arrested on numerous occasions for soliciting without a permit because the owners did not file permits in the cities they were selling. These people strand these kids in the middle of no where with no money when they are fired or want to go home. When the workers stay at the home owned by the [redacted] they are forced to be slaves at their house and to clean, cook and do things around their home. When they are on the road selling they stay at campgrounds and [redacted] tells the campground they are with the local college doing a project. I was lucky enough to have my son call me without the[redacted] knowing and convinced him to escape and go to a hotel to stay until I could fly from [redacted] to bring him home.[redacted] are bad people that use and abuse vulnerable kids and get them to stay by supplying them with drugs. Please stay away from these types of companies and never buy magazines from door to door sales people because you will never receive what you pay for. These kids have no idea that they are scamming you so don't be mad at them. Blame the owners of the company! My son came home the minute he realized he was scamming people out of money. He is not that type of person

After agreeing to purchase 3 magazines to be sent to any soldier, I went inside my house and read the reviews of this company. After reading the reviews, I decided that this is not a reliable company, and sent in the form to cancel my subscriptions (this is the form that is to be mailed to the company within 3 days of the order, which I did. The form says that the money will be refunded to me within 10 days of receiving my request. I sent the form to cancel this transaction on Jan. 7, 2015 and it is now March 2, 2015 and I have not received my refund. Plus I just checked and the check has cleared my bank. I am taking the advice of others who have posted complaints and will post a sign on my door stating "no solitatioons" and hope this will curb future "sales people" from ringing my doorbell. Actually, I have no proof that the magazines that I ordered were actually sent to any soldiers. I feel foolish for falling for the sales pitch given by the young man who called on me, but I did have a soft heart that has turned hard.

My name is [redacted] I had a young man knock on my door yesterday selling magazines, I never listen to anybody when they come to my door Soliciting ! But I decided to listen to this young man . his name is [redacted] and everything he told me about the company how they saved his life and he would be ALIVE if it wasn't for Young People Working . So I bought my first product from a door to door salesman . It was a great experience .

I was sold a bill of goods by being told a story that the magazine subscription I purchased would be used to send issues to a military member overseas. Not knowing if this would be male or female I picked a fairly neutral magazine like "Runners World" and gave the salesmen a check for the subscription.
Several months later I received an issue of Maxim and subsequent months followed and then an issue of Playboy. Not having signed up for either did some research and found the subscriptions had come through a company in FL. Contacting that company I was referred to Young People Working, LLC and provided with some reference numbers. Attempting to call the numbers found on the web and provided by the FL company were either continuously busy or disconnected. I have sent them a letter but don't expect anything to come of it. Stay away from this company and their representatives.

First off I did not buy anything from this company, this is to inform the Revdex.com that this company had a employe come to my house at 6pm trying to sell magazines. Their story about why they where selling them was not kept straight first it was just that they got out the navy and was raising money for college they said one college but later changed it to a different college. Being military myself I was going help them out, but them not keeping story straight and there behavior didn't set right with me, also since it was at night I wanted to look it over ,they where trying all they could to get the money out of me , they wouldn't give me there full name and or a website where I could get the magazines at. They showed me all these brochure with this companies name. it took me 10 mins to get them to understand I wasn't interest and for them to leave my door.
