Total scam!
Do yourself a favor, DO NOT RENT FROM ZEZGO! They will rip you off! (Bogus charges!). Then you will be sorry for falling for their traps!

• Sep 08, 2023

Do not rent a car from Zezgo specially the one in Dominican Republic
I had a reservation via Expedia in June of 2023 to rent an economy car for two weeks in the Dominican Republic. When I arrived at the location, the agent did not know what he was doing and later found out it was his first day at the job.
The agent told me he could not find my reservation via Expedia. He swapped my card 3 times for a new reservation.
When I reached FL after my vacation, Zezgo charged my card twice and had Expedia pay them for the reservation.

Do not rent from Zezgo they will scam you .

SCAMMERS
NEVER use this car rental not only do they not open until 8am and they close at 8pm hard to pick up or drop off with those hours. But, they are SCAMMERS. Take pictures of the car inside and out of every single thing. They will charge you for a cleaning fee when you drop off for damage already there. They turn a around and not refund you. Total rip off. Pay a little more for a professional car agency. I will never go cheap again. You get what you pay for. It will cost you in the long run. They also charge you for insurance even if you pay for it at time of booking. Thats another scam 3 different insurances you need to cover the rental of your car. I paid for the damage and collision at time of booking through Travelocity, I get there to pick up my car and they charge me for additional insurance then turn around and charge me for cleaning fee for stains that I listed on their paper before even pulling off the lot.

Worst experience of my life, will never rent from them again, beware, they are a bunch of scammers!
I am very very disappointed in the customer service I received today, I went to pick up my car from the Orlando location, as soon as I walked in, and gave *** my iD and CC, he went on to try to to squeeze as much out of me as he could, he told me about the Sunpass and I declined at first, and then when I showed him proof of insurance, he went on to tell me that I didn't have the "Partial Waiver Protection"...which I assured him I did, since I had full coverage with Geico, and I was never asked about it when I rented from other companies because I had full coverage on my car...he told me he needed someone from Geico to tell him that, I then gave Geico a call, and I was on hold for an hour and 20 minutes before someone answered!! He just wanted me to give up and say go ahead and charge me the extra $75 ,and make his commission that way, what a scammer, what a liar, if this is what this company is teaching their reps, I really hope they go out of business.. Just for someone to come on the phone after almost 90 minutes and tell him I had the coverage, I was so frustrated! While I was on hold, he told me he would give me a free upgrade to the Toyota Corolla that had Apple Car Play...after we spoke to the agent from Geico, he said he will not be able to upgrade me because he claimed to have said "he would only upgrade me if I signed up for the Partial Waiver Damage Insurance" which he never mentioned before...I will never ever use your company again based on my experience and I will make sure to post this on all my social media feeds and alert everyone about this scam that you are running! They also ask you for a $1,000 deposit, which is unheard of...BEWARE EVERYONE! DO NOT RENT FROM THEM! THEY ARE THE BIGGEST SCAMMERS IN THE INDUSTRY!

Desired Outcome

I want a full refund of everything I paid and apology for the way I was treated

I have traveled for 20+ years and rent cars frequently each year. This Zezgo company is by far the worst experience I ever encountered. They misrepresented the car rental and tried to up charge me for extra insurance and the Florida sunpass. They also wanted to have me deposit $1500 for insurance and $500 for the sunpass, then they said that deposit would stay on my credit card for 7 days after the rental. Once I proved I had insurance and a sunpass, they wouldn't rent me the car and kept saying my card declined, when I know it had a 10,000 remaining balance. They are a *** company and are only looking to up-charge you and overcharge for un-needed services. Use another rental company and save yourself much aggravation.

Zero stars. First they charged me a bogus cleaning fee of $100 on my Visa. I had to cancel the second driver as his trip was cancelled due to the COVID-19 and they have not credited me this. It was charged by the agent when I picked up the car in case he was to be added. They dont reply to emails. The shuttle was also cancelled and I had to pay a taxi to the airport. They also charged me $22 a day for a transponder on account of the tolls, ALL told the rental was more that double the money I paid Expedia. DO NOT RENT FROM ZEZGO.

I rented a vehicle from ZezGo on Friday February 28, 2020 at 10:33 AM. Rental was booked with Travelocity.com for Reservation dates Feb 28, 2020 - Mar 1, 2020 for an amount of $87.07. On arrival I purchased an additional (NON OPTIONAL) insurance coverage for $69.94. I also placed an additional (NON OPTIONAL) deposit for $500.00 with ZezGo on my Master Credit Card. I didn't have the option to pick a vehicle the representative selected the vehicle for me. My daughter and I took photos and videos of the vehicle before leaving the property.

On March 1, 2020 we returned the vehicle at 10:20 AM. A new representative states that they will be holding the deposit due to a minor scratch on the driver door. We compared before and after photos which BOTH does NOT show any minor scratch. We returned to the vehicle with the representative where she pointed out the minor scratch and she stated that the insurance doesn't cover any damages 'UNDER? the amount of $1000.00. She states that the damages must exceed $1000.00 according to policy deductibles.

We asked to speak with the manager since 1). We DID NOT cause the minor scratch. 2). We purchased insurance which should cover minor damages. BUT the representative refused to contact the manager. She suggested we pay an additional amount of $350.00 or they will keep the entire deposit. We refused both suggestions and asked for the insurance policy in writing.

The policy statement states no such thing. Therefore we shouldn't be held accountable for that VERY MINOR SCRATCH. Especially since the scratch is non visible to camera lens, NOR is the scratch bigger than a quarter. Which explains how MINOR the scratch is.

Order_Number: RESERVATION EXIXXXXX
Account_Number: RESERVATION EXIXXXXX

Desired Outcome

Refund It's completely unreasonable to be charged $350.00 or $500.00 for a minor scratch which was not caused on our behalf. The representative was not giving accurate policy information, refused to contact the manager, and refused to issue us our receipt stating 'we were given a receipt at booking'. Due to all inconveniences, we request a Full refund for the rental of $87.07, Full refund for the insurance for $69.94 and full refund for the deposit of $500.00.

Zezgo refused to return the $250.00 car rental deposit. They falsely are accusing me of smoking in the car and leaving the car full of cigerretes butt
Rented car 4 Feb, returned car 8 Feb at 945pm. Agency was closed. 9 Feb at 1030am called to check on the returned car. Told everything was OK. Asked for refund money $250.00 I was told, it takes 3 to 5 days. Refund was not refunded. Feb 18 called to ask for refund. Told it takes 3-5 days. On 26 Feb told, refund was not going to be returned due to a cleaning fee. Told cigarretes were left in car. This is false and its a fraud action. The car was clean and accepted on 9 Feb, 2020. I had never smoked in my life. My wife and 17 years old son doesn't smoke also. The Zezgo is committing fraud and illegally keeping my $250. deposit money.

Desired Outcome

I demand the full refund of my $250.00 deposit money.

-left us at the airport for hour+
- called us liars
- tried to change price on us
-made us walk "back to the airport " on a main road.

We met at B11 (if I remember correctly) for pickup. Called numerous times because they didn't show up, they kept delaying then eventually got us. We complained as we arrived at the facility. They then tried to charge us $100 more and a deposit they never mentioned. I politely said I can not pay that (It would take $500 out of my credit limit then replace it the next week). The manager called us liars about the pickup situation, then returned my card and told us to walk back to the airport. I had my cousin and our girlfriends (all 23 years old) and all of our luggage on a main road with cars speeding by. They were scared and we had to pull over and pay a ton for an uber to take us to a diner just to sit our luggage down as we waited until our check in. We never left the pickup spot, 4 sets of eyes and we even conversed with the other shuttle drivers for other companies more so to make sure they werent our drivers. The manager initially offered to drive us back then told us to leave I asked the polite young lady in the desk to the right of him to maybe talk sense into him but she said its her manager she cant step on his feet. She seemed scared of him and I apologized for putting her in the spot.

Desired Outcome

I paid $35 for an Uber to Kissimmee near our hotel and had to Uber the entire weekend. Each ride was about $25 and we took 4 a day minimum. I was paying $144 for my car with fees and tax I want the difference especially after how they made our girlfriends walk in a dangerous situation. XXX-XXX=256.

I have full coverage insurance with raised limits, and a $1,000,000 liability policy. They forced me to buy their insurance even though I didnt want.
2/9/2020. They force you to buy their SLI insurance even if you have perfectly valid insurance and were able to show proof of insurance. I was not able to decline the coverage even though I was not needed. They stated because I did not have loss of use coverage. I have full coverage, with maxed out limits, and a $1,000,000 liability umbrella policy in addition to that. There is no reason other than greed that they should have forced me to buy coverage I didn't want or need. They would not let me leave with the car without paying. This was underhanded and not good practice.

Desired Outcome

I would like a refund for the coverage I wanted to decline.

Horrible! Don't waste your time use a big name company.

Rental car/s defective/unsafe. Not what was advertised on Cheap Tickets under pre-pay agreement.
I contracted w Zezgo Car Rental via the Cheap tickets web site when I booked my flights to Miami. Their advertisement apeareared along with all of the other car rental offerings. The car in the picture appeared newer and in good condition. When I arrived in Miami and was finally picked up, I was driven to a rundown off-site location down a back street and immediately began to worry about my safety in this area. I put these concerns aside and went in to secure my rental. I met the girl at the desk and began the process signing the paperwork and handing over my credit card to pay $134 for the tollway (Sunpass). This was on top of the $106 I had already paid when I booked the car. At this point she produced + asked me to sign another receipt for $500 that she said would be temporarily billed to cover any damages. At this point I stopped and told her I needed to see the car first. I went outside and found an "older" Sentra" that had seen "better days!" When I went to open the door the handled pulled out in 3 separate pieces and almost fell off! I returned inside and informed the girl that this car was unacceptable and asked what other cars were available? They brought another car around but the condition was very similar to the first one. To be sure I reached up in the tire well to check the tread depth and found the tread on the tires almost "bald!"
I returned inside to inform the girl that I was no longer interested in renting from them and verbally voided any "implied" contract w Zezgo! I informed them that "bait and switch" schemes were illegal and asked to be taken back to the airport. The individual who came to pick me suddenly could no longer speak English and was unwilling to load my luggage so I did it myself. I immediately called Capital One to dispute the charges which were now in excess of$740 dollars and went to work to secure another rental.
With the Sun Pass and Rental (upgraded because *** at Family rentals felt bad for me having been through all of this) I got a new Toyota Camery in "good/safe" condition for only $239 total.
A firm word of warning here. After having read other complaints about Zezgo @ (near the Miami airport), it becomes all to apparent that their intent is to defraud the unsuspecting at moments of vulnerability having just flown in from other places. It is beyond me as to why/how these types of businesses are allowed to continue defrauding unwary travelers and haven't been shut down? I also intend to question "Cheaptickets" vetting process. In my professional opinion they are just as guilty for having carelessly facilitated these scammers on their websites. After an hour on the phone w them, they offered me a $50 gift certificate for my troubles which I refused! If we cant rely on the powers that be to protect us from such scams, what does that imply? Will someone "Pleeeease" shut this place down?

Desired Outcome

Refund of $106 rental Refund of $134 SunPass

This company has unrealistic surcharges and was not honest about the toll pass *** surcharges. I had to pay an additional $626 to pick up my car
Being shuttle did not pick me up at the time nor location in which the rental car company instructed me. There was an additional $500 surcharge that was placed without my understanding. The representative swiped my card before fully explaining to me what was going on and told me as I want a refund it would take over 72 hours. I was told I was required to purchase a son pass *** I was not able to pay cash at the tolls. I argued with the represent it because I have done this in the past paid cash and he told me I was incorrect and that the rules had changed. I was coerced in to purchasing things I didn't need to. They tried to make me buy additional insurance even I have full coverage insurance. None of this information was told to me prior to my rental and they quadrupled the daily rate of my car when I asked for an additional day. They left my luggage sitting on the side of the road from the shuttle and have the worst customer service I've ever experienced. I've never had to pay so many hundreds of dollars extra just to be able to take my own rental car and be told that myself and my 9 month old baby could be Taken back to the airport but the $626 charged to my credit card would not be refunded and that maxed out my card. Very poor business practices and none of this was disclosed when I agreed to rent from them through orbits.

Desired Outcome

I would like the charge for the Sun pass *** come I would like my security deposit returned and I would like the 55 dive looking Theo paid refunded because it did not cover the rental of my car as I thought it would.

Went to go pick up the rental car today. Was told that even though I paid for an unlimited miles rental, I am restricted to 50 miles a day because I have a Florida driver's license. Was told that this is a statewide restriction for renting a car and that I'm welcomed to go rent across the street but they will have the same restriction. Why would anyone tell a Florida residence such a lie is beyond me. She didn't push me into renting with them because she knows I can go back to my unlimited miles personal Honda van and drive back home in Florida.

Horrible service. We rented a car and they ask for outrageous fees and a $1000 deposit. The company had 3 people working there and their shuttle NEVER came to pick us up. In addition, we were returned only half the money even though we didn't use any of their cars or services. Stay Away.

Zero STARS!! They charged us the deposit through a third party company called Corpusa Tour and did not refund the deposit. Our car was dirty and not well maintained. The tires had low tire pressure which led to a flat tire. They won't respond to any emails and there is no head office contact number. After attempting to handle the dispute by calling the branch, they hung up on me and won't answer my calls. I am shocked EXPEDIA would sell services from a business that is not accredited! Deeply disappointed.

These people charged me $535 for two barely seen dents that were probably all there when I rented it. They didn't even do a thorough walk around on initial rental.

Stay away from this company, clerks are rude, I had my own sunpass and they said it was no good and tried to charge me 13 dollar a day ($150) I told the clerk I only use 8 dollars in tolls on two days of my eleven day rental, I was able to negotiate down to 7 dollars a day. The clerk was very unprofessional and was speaking spanish to co-workers( he didn't realize I understand spanish). I have rented vehicles fifteen times a year for the last fifteen years and this was by far the worst company I have ever dealt with. It is the definition of bait and switch.

Don't rent through these people! We only rented through them because we got a discount through Expedia. When we returned the car, they inspected it, said it was fine and we left. Now I have a bill for $67 on my credit card. They said it was for cleaning services. There was some beach sand on the floor of the car, but we have never been charged for someone to vacuum our car in the past. When I called the office, the person I spoke to was not helpful and refused to give me a manager to speak to, and told me he doesn't know a managers name or phone number. Totally shady operation.

Unprofessional, deceptive business that forces individual in purchasing added services that is not in terms and conditions
We rented a vehicle from Zezgo through your site from 08/21 through 08/31/2019 and would like to file a formal compliant. We mistakenly thought that since we booked the car through Expedia, we could trust that the company was reputable but that was not so in this case. We have rented vehicles from numerous companies in different states and have never experienced an extortion scam like this one. This company is unprofessional, dishonest, deceptive and really should be put out of business.
Right from the start, they try to strongarm us into purchasing their pre-paid tolls for $13.99/day. We declined stating that we are going on a cruise and do not anticipate driving much and if we do end up going through a toll we would just pay at the toll booth. He then insist that we signed off on an agreement stating that if we mistakenly go through a toll and it registers on their SunPass account, they would charge me $25 fee per toll plus the cost of the toll, even if we pay at the toll. Needless to say, we spent our entire trip avoiding ALL tolls, wasting hours driving on non-toll roads in an effort to mitigate potential false charges.

Since we decline the Sunpass pre-paid service, he proceed to coarse us into purchasing collision coverage which ranges from 9.99, 19.99, to 29.99 per day. We declined stating that we have my own insurance. He then proceed to say that he needs to see the declaration page as proof of insurance. They're counting on the fact that not very many people carry their car insurance with them. We certainly didn't but luckily for us, it was still business hour and we were able to track down our insurance company who was able to quickly email the needed information to us. We showed him the declaration page but that was not enough, he wanted to view the details of coverage. After looking through the details, he says that we do not have adequate coverage. He stated that the state of Florida requires 300,000 while we only carry 100,000 for collision. He goes on to inform us that since we have proof of insurance, we would not need to purchase the 29.99/day coverage, but that the only way to proceed is to purchase their lowest collision coverage of $9.99 per day for total of $99.9 plus tax, and that is in addition to what we already paid Expedia.
We wanted to walk away from the whole ordeal at that point, but it was late in the day and my family was exhausted from the long flight so we reluctantly agreed to their minimum collision coverage in order to get on our way.
But he was not finished. He then told us that they will need to charge $1000 dollar to our credit card as a deposit for incidental damage. $1000?? I have seen it as high as $500 but $1000? I questioned that and requested it in writing. He brought out a document with prints so small that we actually have to take a picture and enlarge to see. It states that deposit ranges from $200 to $2000. But based on what, and how is it determined? He wasn't able to provide an explanation, only to say that their policy says form $200 to $2000, but he did say that deposit would be refunded if the car is returned in one piece, with no new dents/scratches. Needless to say, we were very diligent in documenting every dent and scratch before leaving the lot. I would not be surprise to see them keep deposits of unsuspecting individuals who are less diligent.
We returned the car in its original condition and our $1000 was refunded, but they overcharged us on our total. We have put in a dispute with our credit card company in hope of recovering the overage,
We are not accustomed to filing complaint, but want to ensure that others would not succumb to this business unethical tactics.
Zezgo Orlando. *** Narcoossee Rd Orlando, Fl XXXXX XXX-XXX-XXXX
Confirm# ZEXXXXXXX Expedia itinerary #XXXXXXXXXXXXX

Desired Outcome

First and foremost, we want to ensure that others would not succumb to this business unethical tactics. Secondly, we would like to get a refund on the $117 that we were coarced to pay for the supposed mandatory insurance coverage that was not specified in the rental terms and conditions.
