Affordable Garage Door & Opener Repair, DBA Save On Services Reviews (77)

Garage door would not open so I called these guys. It is a family owned business so one of the owners came to my home. He quickly diagnosed the broken spring and gave me a very fair estimate without a bunch of add ons. I agreed and he quickly cleared the area of the garage so nothing would get damaged and he completed the repair. I would highly recommend this company, they give very good service at a fair price. There is another company with a very similar name, I have no experience with them so I can not say if they are good or not but be careful not to confuse the two, this one is great!

Bill showed up within a few hours of my call and replaced my broken springs, he also repaired other issues with the door for the original quoted price.

Great job with great service, can't ask for more than that! I highly recommended Affordable!

Our garage door suffered from excessive wear and an unfortunate (albeit minor) collision with one of our cars. Rick answered my telephone call after 2 rings, and came to our house the next day. He accurately diagnosed the problems, and promptly repaired the door at a very reasonable price. I would heartily recommend him to anyone needing garage door repair!

On time and great service.

Very happy with their service. I called another company first that had a sticker on the back of the garage door. They quoted me $400 to replace two springs. I inquired about a coupon and they brought it down to $340. I made the appointment but felt like the price sounded very high. I went on yelp and called two companies that had good ratings but nobody answered (about 8pm at night). Affordable Garage Door was my third call and Randy answered right away. The price was much better and he scheduled an 8-10am appt the next day, so I cancelled the other company. David came out the next day. It turns out I have a very heavy door so the price was about $30 higher than quoted due to needing larger springs, but that was fine with me. The total price came to $180 which was about half of what I was going to pay with the other company. After a couple of days I realized the opener was struggling a bit so I called and David came back out the next day to make adjustments. He ended up putting in an even larger spring (the door is VERY heavy). There was no charge for the second visit and everything is working great now. I would not hesitate to use them again! I think there are some sketchy door companies out there, but these guys seem honest and reliable.

These guys are great. I called them to fix a broken garage door spring. After a scheduling mixup that was TOTALLY my fault, they showed up within 30 minutes after we got it straightened out. They fixed the broken spring for just over half what another guy quoted me, then lubed the door and did a couple of minor adjustments for free. For what it's worth, the technician said they also do appliance repair. I will definitely use them again when the need arises.

A spring on my garage door was broken. The door was not operational.

I placed a few telephone calls regarding price and timing for repair.

I selected Affordable Garage Door and Opener Repair because of the least expensive price and fast availability.

Rick arrived on time. The door was fixed within the hour. Rick also made some minor adjustments to the chain mechanism of the automatic door opener. The service could not have been better.

That afternoon, my wife arrived at home from work and drove her car into the garage,

Normalcy was restored.

Thank you, Rick

Prompt and courteous service, gave me courtesy calls to let me know when they can be expected. Very fast and efficient repair by [redacted]

Tech/Owner has very poor hygiene and looks like an ex convict he gave me a price over the phone that matched his ad on Google but when he arrived the price jumped about 3 times the original quote. Buyer beware this guy is a scam.

I hired these guys to replace our broken garage door springs, based solely on price and Yelp reviews, and wow am I glad I did! Their price is the best I found, and it's simply amazing to watch them work. I went from a non-functioning door, to new springs with no issues, in less than 15 minutes!!! When I later called with a question, they scheduled a same day visit at no charge to me, to be sure I was 100% satisfied with their work... and I am. I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone in need of their services! :)

I can lay this one out very easily. We had a bunch of small stuff wrong with our door. They sent a tech. He fixed it all in about 5 minutes. And he said he would feel too guilty charging us money...so we got the work for free. These guys obviously get an A+ in ethics and customer service. Give them a chance...

I live in [redacted]. The garage door wouldn't open all the way so she couldn't get her car out. She has limited mobility so was basically shut in without the use of the garage door. She had a terrible experience with an unscrupulous garage door company approximately 10 years ago and was scared to have another company she knew nothing about come to the house. I found Affordable Garage Door & Opener Repair on [redacted]. Rick answered the phone on the first call. He said they could get out there the next day (10/28/14) between noon and 2 PM. He said it was most likely a spring and gave a firm estimate that was $35 less than I paid to have my springs replaced 8 years ago. My mother was thrilled with the service. Affordable arrived on time, fixed the door, explained everything to her, showed her the broken parts and "couldn't have been any nicer". Highly recommended by my mother (and me)

Called Rick to discuss my springs breaking on my Garage Door. He asked me my address and Zip code then proceeded to quote be 147.00 for the repair. I agreed and set up appt and asked for a 30 minute call prior to. I was not able to be there but my wife was.

They showed up and fixed the garage door only to up charge my wife to 179.00 saying it was a bigger door and needed bigger springs... It is not about the 30.00 it is about quoting a figure and not honoring it.. and then since a lady is there, taking advantage

I called Rick afterwards only to get a attitude from saying that he has no clue what springs are needed and why am I calling over 30.00 .. Made threats to take me down should I report him.... Just poor business practice ....

The spring on my garage door snapped and my car was trapped in the garage. I called Affordable Garage Door Repair. Rick L[redacted] was there within two hours of my call. He was very professional and had my door repaired within 30 min. Upfront pricing with no surprises! Highly recommend!

Tim came out same day, as my cars were stuck in the garage due to a broken spring. We have heavy wood doors and he was a life saver. Even looked at our 3rd car garage for me that was broken too. Will use them for installation on new doors soon as well. Pricing very good compared to other outfits....5 stars

Rick made the appointment within during my initial call. Tim was prompt, efficient, and educational. I would recommend this company

Affordable Garage Door is my first choice for service. They are professional and honest, and employ a high caliber of service personnel. I recently needed some work done on my door, and Tim N[redacted] arrived quickly and took care of the problem in a matter of a few minutes. He was courteous, and explained everything thoroughly. He did a great job.

I'm writing this review to make sure that people call around before accepting any quotes that this company provides. On the day of our move out of a rental home the movers left some shelving in the way of the garage door track. Unfortunately we didn't notice that and tried to close the door. Because the motor was so old it was not equipped with the emergency reverse so it just kept trying to go down and eventually forced itself off the track and torqued itself enough that one of the panes of glass shattered. Needless to say this was super stressful and knowing we had to get it fixed ASAP I called this company. They had been out once before when we had some problems with the spring and they seemed competent enough. Well Rick came out to do an estimate on the repair and after looking at it told us it would be approximately $1,200 since the door wasn't able to be fixed. It needed new everything he said. Tracks, a whole door, new glass etc. Given that estimate I told him I needed to discuss it with the moving company to try and get them to assume at least 50% responsibility and hopefully 50% of that cost. We were able to get it back on the track before Rick arrived with lots of hammering but it was still open and I was concerned about it slamming shut and shattering more glass so I asked him to help us get it down. He said he would only help if we paid him $100 to do it. Because we needed to be able to secure the house we agreed to pay it (bad decision in hindsight) so after the door was down he asked us to sign an invoice that stated 'Ignoring common sense and the recommendation of a licensed profession we are choosing to not fix the door' or something to that affect. He told me I had to initial it. So I did in order to finish up our move and get on with the repair. I contacted the property management company for the rental house and explained what happened. They put me in contact with another company (Wild West Door) who came out and told me the door was entirely salvageable and ended up being able to fix it for just over $80. If there wouldn't have been such an enormous difference in the cost between these two companies and the offensive wording on their invoice I don't think I would have cared to do this, but those things combined along with him charging us $100 when he could have just told us it was safe to put it down ourselves made me upset. He knew we were in a bad spot and was clearly taking advantage of us. We were under the gun and needed help and he was happy to gauge us for it. I would NOT recommend this company to anyone.

Tim at Affordable was friendly, efficient and very knowledgeable. The price was great! He did a wonderful job...even tho he had just had a fender bender on the way to our appointment. A class act!

An excellent job. Marcus is a great guy. The door never worked that well!
