Review: On July 11 I attempted to purchase tickets through Show clix for Magic Men Live in Reading PA. for 8/21/15 when the confirmation for order came through it stated tickets were purchased for a show in Wilmington NC. Show clix was immediately notified of the problem and I was told I needed to fill out a form on their website which I did immediately. In response I received an email July 12 stating

Good afternoon,

Thanks for taking the time to get in touch with us. Unfortunately, since the price level you purchased is not available for the event in Reading, PA, we are unable to transfer your tickets to the new date. While tickets and service fees purchased through ShowClix are non-refundable, we do honor upgrades on behalf of our customers. If you choose to upgrade your tickets, please be aware that you will only receive back the face value amount spent for your order. Any service fees incurred during the time of your purchase unfortunately will not be returned.

Due to the process for which upgrades are accommodated, all upgrades must be approved by the event organizers directly. Once we receive approval, a new order must be completed by calling our Customer Care Dept anytime Monday-Friday from 9am-9pm EST at ###-###-####. A face value refund of your original order will be submitted to our Refunds Dept once your new order is placed by phone.

You will be contacted once we hear back from the event organizers. If the request is approved, a new order will need to be completed and your original order will be cancelled and refunded.

I waited and in the interim placed a few calls to customer service and was told they were waiting to hear from Magic men live. They also admitted that there was a "glitch" in there computer system that was responsible for the tickets being switched to a different date and venue. I informed them that there was no way I would order tickets for North Carolina as I live in PA. That Show clix was notified immediately of the problem so they could resell the North Carolina tickets as we would not be using them. I was informed I needed to wait to here from the venue and Magic Men live to see if we could be upgraded.

On July 16 I received the following email:

JUL 16, 2015 | 04:34PM EDT

Good afternoon,

Thank you for your patience while we waited for approval from the event organizer. We have since heard back and have been given permission to offer a FACE value refund upon completion of a new order. If you still want to exchange your tickets, please contact Customer Care by phone at ###-###-#### to place the new order by phone. A face value refund will then be issued back to the card used for purchase for your original order.

Thank you!

I went on the website and the show for Reading PA was sold out. I could not buy any ticket, let alone an upgraded ticket like they had inferred to be able to get a credit for the original purchase. I then contacted customer service and was told I could not get a refund as tickets purchased are non refundable.

I then sent the following email:

We would like a refund for the full amount as all tickets are sold out for the Friday Augst 21 show in Reading. This is the show we had wanted and through an admitted error on your website . Tickets were switched to Wilmington North Carolina. You were contacted immediately about the problem. We have waited patiently for a resolution and expect a refund as this was your companies website error.

I never heard from them again. I therefore contacted Discovercard which I used to purchase the tickets and filed a dispute. On September 5 I was notified that they have so far found in my favor but stated the company has 45 days to respond and that decision could be reversed.

This afternoon 9/16 I received the following email from Show Clix:

We've recently been notified of your dispute on a credit card purchase made with ShowClix on Saturday, July 11th in the amount of $280.43.

Your order included the following:

0 ticket(s) for MAGIC MEN® LIVE! on Friday, August 14th

If you're disputing this charge because you didn't recognize what the purchase was for, please call your bank or credit card company to cancel the dispute or chargeback ASAP. Tickets are non-refundable, as per our Terms of Service:

http://www.showclix.com/tos

If you would like to speak with someone at ShowClix regarding your purchase, please call ###-###-####.

Thank you for your cooperation.

Needless to say I am extremely frustrated with this entire situation. I am appalled by their business practice. This company is impossible to work with. An admitted error in the form of a computer glitch occurred on their end when the ticket order was placed. They were notified immediately and therefore would have been able to sell those tickets for North Carolina immediately. I am sure they did not lose a sale by the tickets being in my" possession" less than 15 minutes prior to them being notified of the problem.Desired Settlement: Refund on my discover card for the full purchase price.

Response:

The seller insists they did not alter the dates or locations of the shows and this was clearly the customer's mistake in purchasing for the wrong date and city. Our terms of service clearly states that all sales are final and no refunds will be given except in the case of a cancelled event, which this event was not. It is up to Magic Men if they want to issue a refund, and they did not for this event. We did not even do the ticketing for the Reading event so it is impossible that she came to our site and could even attempt to buy tickets for that location. Please see showclix.com/tos for the terms the customer agreed to prior to purchase.Thank you,[redacted]Risk ManagerShowClix

Review: I purchased 4 tickets with Showclix in the amount of $257.16 on Sunday November 3, 2013 for a concert that was dated for Thursday November 7, 2013. Upon arriving to the venue, there was a sign in the box office window stating the concert was cancelled and to contact the promoter. After numerous emails and telephone calls to the promoter, I only received a general email response stating they would contact me at their earliest convenience. I then contacted Showclix to see if they could further assist me. After speaking with the finance manager [redacted], he stated that the promoter had passed away and they were giving the family time to grieve before pursuing the matter further. I waited for a couple of weeks before contacting [redacted] and he gave me the same information. I have contacted him four times since then and have not received a reponse to my messages.Desired Settlement: I would like to receive a refund in the amount of $257.16.

Response:

While we understand the customer's frustration, we do not hold funds to issue refunds for this event. The promoter received all funds for the event and then passed away. While we are working to recover funds from the estate, these matters can take time due to the complicated nature of estate settlement. We have no news since the last time we spoke to this customer. As soon as we do, we will communicate any findings via email to the ticket buyers.

Review: I purchased (9) tickets on 10/11/13 totaling $721.08 for the "Bad Boys of R&B" featuring 112 and Carl Thomas performance scheduled for an 11/7/13. The show was cancelled and ShowClix did not notify any of the fans although they had prior knowledge that the show was cancelled. I have called multiple times only to be told that they are still waiting to provide the refund to customers. I don't understand why a promoter would be paid prior to the show. ShowClix needs better protocol to resolve issues like this or they will not be in business for long. Normal ticket companies would've issued a refund immediately. Their lack of professionalism leaves much to be desired and I will be telling everyone I know not to purchase ANY tickets from ShowClix in the future. Something needs to be done about this.Desired Settlement: I would like my $721.08 refunded immediately before I take legal action.

Response:

The promoter of this event passed away and we are waiting on settlement from his estate. ShowClix had no knowledge the event was cancelled ahead of time. It is common practice for promoters to receive funds before their events take place to take care of expenses incurred before the show. We have no further information at this point.

Review: Hello I have contacted Show clix about possibly getting a refund back for the 4 tickets purchased on Fri. Jul 24, 2015 at 11:09pm to see at The Reverb in Reading on August 20th 2015 to see a show. I had explained to them that at the time of purchase I was sure that my friends and I would of been able to make it. However, after purchase I was not able to cancel and I asked for a full refund in the amount spent. They kept referring to their No refund policy which I took notice that it does not actually say there is no refund. This is what it states "ShowClix is unable to offer refunds after a ticket has been purchased without consent from the event promoter. However, a refund may be issued when an event is canceled.

In the unfortunate event that an event is canceled, a refund in the amount of the face value of the ticket (not including service and delivery fees) will be issued. Service and delivery fees will not be refunded. The event promoter will have control over refund availability and/or duration. ShowClix will not be able to issue refunds until any outstanding balance and/or refunds are compensated by the event promoter." I have received no reply back from the event promoter.

Response:

I think our refund policy is very clear. It is common knowledge that when you buy tickets for events they are non-refundable. All sales are final unless the event is cancelled. Filing a Revdex.com complaint over this is an abuse of the system.Thank you,Joe M[redacted]Risk ManagerShowClix

Review: My husband bought me [redacted] tickets for April 6th for my birthday. We drove about twenty five minutes to find out the show was cancelled. We didn't receive any notification at all that the show was cancelled. I have called numerous times for my refund and keep getting the run around. I am getting very upset! This has been going on for almost three months.Desired Settlement: I just want my 140.00 back ASAP!!

Business

Response:

[redacted], the promoter of this event, has not provided the funds necessary to issue refunds to customers. We are currently taking legal action against [redacted] and [redacted] to recover the funds necessary to issue refunds to all customers. Currently we have no timetable for the resolution of this case. We understand the frustration with this situation, but ShowClix has no control over the promoter providing these funds. Please see our terms of service, located at www.showclix.com/tos. This specifies that we are unable to issue refunds until the promoter provides us the funds necessary. A customer who purchases tickets from us must agree to this terms of service before processing an order by checking a box indicating they agree.

Review: Bought 2 tickets to the Bad Boy concert in Redondo Beach California last year in November. When we arrived at the venue there was a note on the door stating the show was cancelled and for refund contact such and such. When I called ShowClix the next day they informed me that the promotor passed away and they will refund the money as soon as possible. Well it is now a year later and I haven't heard anything from the ShowClix company. I called and the customer service rep told me that due to the fact that the promotor died they are not accountable for returns. As a vendor, the money should not have been transferred to the promotor until after the show was performed. A lot of people are out of their hard money they worked for and have not been compensated for this loss. It really seems like the company dicks people around when it came to this situation.Desired Settlement: I would like to be fully refunded for my 2 tickets that were purchased.

Response:

It has been over a year since this happened. While we feel terrible about what happened, the promoter did pass away before the event took place. It is commonplace for promoters to be paid before an event takes place in this industry, as they often use advance ticket sale revenue as working capital. There was nothing left after the estate settled to issue refunds. Beyond that, due to the amount of time that has passed, I do not remember specifics of what happened.Thank you,[redacted]Risk ManagerShowClix

Review: Showclix cancelled an event. They did not advise anyone in advance and two weeks later after two follow ups still did not issue a refund.Desired Settlement: Full refund plus interest

To whom it may concern,

Review: Yesterday,5/13 tickets for [redacted] went on sale at 12:00PM.[redacted] supplied a link to purchase tickets from showclix. I was on site at 12:00 and waited over an hour before being directed to the page to purchase the tickets. The purchasing page (showclix) showed 4 day passes were available , I checked the amount of tickets and add ons needed and filled out shipping information and billing information. I went to check out and a page showed stating the page I was looking for could not be displayed. For ten minutes I tried and tried FINIALLY the ticket purchasing page showed a message stating PROCESSING ORDER DO NOT NAVIGATE OR REFRESH PAGE . I DID NOT NAVIGATE AWAY OR REFRESH THE PAGE .After 20 minutes of waiting for my order to process and having my charge card and billing information just sitting there the page went blank. My order did not go thru.Desired Settlement: In a facebook post from [redacted], [redacted] today , Mr. [redacted] clearly stated that [redacted] were going to cancel the sales of persons reselling comic con tickets. I wish to be able to purchase these tickets. The failure of the system was not of my fault but that of [redacted] , showclix and [redacted] .There is also a matter of my billing and shipping information being exposed for a great length of time and I seek a written reassurance that the sites used were secure

Business

Response:

There is an enormous demand for tickets to [redacted] and unfortunately not all customers were able to purchase tickets as there are more potential ticket-buyers than tickets available. Our systems are secure and we do not share information of customers with anyone.Since there was no actual transaction here, I request this case be closed.

Response:

This event is billed as "THE BIGGEST PARTY TO HIT NEW YORK CITY " each year there is a failure to supply tickets and the excuse of a down system , seems the only people not having a problem is the people to purchase tickets just to re sell at triple the selling price or more.In a facebook post from [redacted] OF [redacted] he states there was a slow down of the system and those who were attempting to buy tickets in queue know that it took several hours to move through the queue and received error messages along the way .Mr. [redacted] also stated resellers were going to have there orders canceled , if this is true how and when is showclix planning on selling these tickets ? Had there not been a failure of the system I and many others would have been able to purchase our tickets on 5/13 .I ask that the case NOT BE CLOSED UNTIL PURCHASING INFORMATION IS GIVEN FOR THE TICKETS THAT WAS CLEARLY STATED WOULD BE CANCELED FOR THOSE THAT ARE RESELLING THE TICKETS AT TRIPLE OR MORE THE SELLING PRICE .This complaint is about the families that enjoy going to [redacted] , spending their money at [redacted] and not being able to get tickets because [redacted] AND SHOWCLIX failed .
