Timberline Financial Reviews (80)

The representative that contacted me was pleasant, but tended to talk fast I followed up with some questions via email to clarify how the program would work In the end, I found another company that offered me a better solution for me I emailed the timberline representative to let her know, and in her response back to me she made the assumption that I was doing nothing She then sent me another email providing further marketing for timberline I responded and clarified that I had gone another route and didn't need anything from timberline To which I received a rude email from her Remains to be seen if she is done contacting me I am done responding to her

This company has repeatedly not followed through on actions The latest issue is that I filed a 'skip payment' motion in November for the Dec payment as I was at completion of the program, with sufficient funds in my account to cover the remaining payment and the fees, and still provide a small refund $was still deducted from my bank for the December payment I contacted them and was told they screwed up and submitted the skip payment for Jan *** A refund was supposed to be issued within business days After I called back This time I was told the last agent put in the notes, but never filed something that was required for action to be taken I was told it was escalated, and would be taken care of within a week I was out of the country for weeks, came back, and still nothing had been refunded I called again the first week of January, and was told it was processing and should be in my account within days I have now called again today, 1/*/2019, and hav

Victor V*** was outstanding to work withSkeptical at first, Victor listened to my concerns, addressed each concern candidly, and then guided me through the process to a healthier financial futureI greatly appreciate the customer service, and more importantly, the effort to ensure that I was comfortable with the process

It has been a very frustrating experience. Follow my advice to avoid yourself headaches and stress.
I got into the program and they were fast and kind answering my emails, I loved it.

About six weeks ago I sent the first email forwarding them an email in regards of a creditor who took me to court. I sent two email and I called them twice, with no answer at all.

On July 19th I called them and asked them not to withdraw funds from my bank and to change the withdraw date, however, they did withdraw the funds. I asked them to just cancel my account and to send me MY MONEY. I was told on Monday July 30th that my funds will be sent by check and I will have it by Wednesday August 1st. In the morning they explained that I had to talk to a "Graduation" specialist so they can walk me out of the program and that he would call me before the end of the day.

I called at 5:00 letting them know that no one had called, I was told then that such phone call by the "Graduation" specialist was not needed, they would be sending me the funds.

They did not sent the funds, they only sent via direct deposit the amount of the monthly payment. I thought that maybe the rest of the money will be in the mail. NOTHING!

I called on Friday August 3 and asked them what is going on. They explained that I had to talk to a "Graduation" specialist so they can walk me out of the program. Yes, they changed the story, once more. Their phone representative told me that "Eddie" would be calling me first thing in Monday morning.

I have not received a phone call today Monday, so I called again, to be told again that "Eddie" was not there today, and it seems he is the only one that can close the accounts. I have been asking for my money for more than 10 days with no answers at all from the company.

I feel they have stolen my money, so sad to know you trust to get you out of trouble and you end with bigger issues.

Have to mention that there are long waiting times and the phone calls drop quite often, which makes communication very broken and overall a frustrating experience.

You have been warned.

Timberline Financial has been great to me, their service has been great and everything was explained to me well by my representative. So far so good, I would recommend their services to anyone struggling to pay their credit card bills.

Hi They have...

sent me a e-mail that all contracts with them Have been cancelled with Timberline Financial and their third [redacted]  [redacted] as well and all my information has been destroyed How ever I do not know what they did with the employee that started all of this and made up a e-mail for me and e-signed my name to the contract! I have done all I can on my part to protect myself from this FRAUD that has happen to me. I will not know for sure until I watch my credit Report for the next 90 days.Thank You

My experience with this firm was pleasant in the beginning. Their representative was professional and very detailed. I, however found a more acceptable avenue to fix my debt situation and therefore followed the firm's procedures to cancel my contract. I even phoned my representative to advise him that I had used my right to cancel the contract and also make him very aware that it had nothing to do with the firm nor his performance.

My displeasure has been with the repeated phone calls since that time from the firm. I made it very clear on the 1st call that I was statiified with their performance but that I chose to follow another course. Since that time more calls ahve been received, to which I have notified them to cease calling.

get them back on the road to financial freedom. We are sorry that you didn't see this program as a fit for you at this time. We wish you the best in resolving your debt situation and should you change your mind, we'd be happy to help you in the future.

Timberline Financial is such a scam outfit. They don't care about helping people. All they are concerned with is making sure that they have access to anyone's checking account so that they can debit it and they then promise they will take care of your charge cards.
People you don't need a debt consolidation company to take care of your charges, all you have to do is call your credit card company who you own the monies to and explain your circumstances to them. Good Luck

This is the very worst experience I have ever had. They told me to stop making payments on my accounts (which I had never been late on). Then SIXTY DAYS after I had been following their instructions they informed me that one of my accounts that they had already approved was ineligible. So I am in default on this account based on their directions. Trying to understand what is happening is impossible as the right hand doesn't know what the left hand is doing there. No one understands what is happening. Now I'm in worse financial condition as a result of signing with them. The best thing I can recommend is that you don't trust this company. They are unprofessional and have no idea what they are doing.

Review: Double Bait and Switch Scam – [redacted] and Timberline Financial – Debt Consolidation Loan pre-approval switched for Debt Resolution Program:

I was provided a Pre-Approval Debt Consolidation Loan ($90,500) letter from [redacted]. Upon calling the provided phone # and submitting my reservation # per the letter, I was seamlessly passed off to a separate second company without making me explicitly aware that this was occurring – Timberline Financial (1st Bait and Switch – “the Company Switch”). This separation apparent to me after the fact once the damage had already been done to my credit score due to the credit pull that I was tricked into agreeing to. Collusion is proven by the fact that the second company Timberline uses and recognizes the same phone # and personal reservation # from Crestmont. So even if they are legally separate, they are effectively acting as one.

When speaking to Timberline, they affirmed that I was pre-approved for the Debt Consolidation Loan. Timberline proceeded to collect extensive personal financial information from me to process the loan. On multiple occasions, I was promised that this was in fact a Debt Consolidation Loan and NOT a Debt Resolution Program. Given this promise, I agreed for Timberline to use my SSN to run my credit report.

Within a week, I spoke again with Timberline who informed me that I would not qualify for the Debt Consolidation Loan but that I could instead proceed with a Debt Resolution Program (2nd Bait and Switch – “the Product Switch”). This is despite my firm initial insistence that I would not be interested in resolution programs and that this would indeed be a loan. I expressed my displeasure that I had been duped into having my credit ran (which ultimately degrades my credit score) only for the denial of a loan program that I was given pre-approval for. After the fact, I was given the absurd explanation that “pre-approval does not really mean pre-approval”.

The rep that I spoke with from Timberline throughout the process was named Paula and after I expressed my discontent for suckering me into the debt resolution program, she proceeded to try to sell the program to me. I expressed my moral inclinations to give my best effort pay back my creditors rather than settle with them at a reduced payback (obviously, a consolidation loan would allow me to pay back my creditors in full but a resolution program only pays back a portion of the debt to my creditors). I also explained that I was not interested in a resolution program that would substantially damage my credit score. Despite my moral and credit score objections, Paula tried to convince me that my moral concerns were not valid and that my credit score did not matter in the long run. The absurdities of her arguments were incredibly insulting as she tried to prey on me to commit to a program that I did not want to participate in from the very beginning.

The Double Bait and Switch scam between Crestmont and Timberline makes it possible for Crestmont to offer a letter with loan pre-approval that is then not honored by Timberline – who ultimately tries to switch me into a resolution program that I insisted from the very beginning that I was not interested in. The damage has been done because now I have an additional credit pull harming my score. This is a double Bait and Switch scam involving two companies working together to prey on the consumer that may not realize that they are not pre-approved from the second company that may be separate from the first company although they both share the same phone # and personal reservation # (clear evidence of collusion to scam the consumer).

I’m very angry that I was preyed upon and I want other unaware consumers to be aware that this can happen to them. I admit that I was fooled and suckered into this scam and I will certainly be more aware in the future for it. I can’t deny that it is possible that there may be nothing illegal about what occurred. However, everything that I have stated are facts that, if do not indicate a breach legal standards, certainly indicate a lack of moral standards.Desired Settlement: I am a reasonable and honest person. I only ask that I not be tricked into situations that can harm my wellbeing. I am open to suggestions for a resolution.

Review: I entered a contract on 12/**/2014 for a Debt Resolution Agreement from the professional advice of Chasen G[redacted] and Danny E[redacted]. Both people intentionally misled and misrepresented the program that I entered. Both stated several times that credit issue will be resolved within 2-3 months and all accounts will be entered into a settlement contract within 8 months. Both also said that my credit score will dip slightly until settlement agreements are reached, however when I complained several times that my credit score had dropped over 100 points there was no explanation given as to why the program was taking so long. I was also told by Rodney W[redacted], the credit strategist, that my smaller credit accounts will be settled quickly, however it took 9 months for the smallest account to be settled. Also, since that account went to a debt collector in May, which I faxed the paperwork and received an email verifying acceptance of that letter, Timberline Financial did not contact that collection agency until September when Timberline was told that the agency will not negotiate with them. I had to do the negotiations for a credit settlement, I got the settlement amount, the address to where the monies are to be paid, and I was the one to get the information sent to Timberline Financial. All those are against the written contract that I signed. In addition, Timberline Financial kept their commission fee even though they did none of the negotiations, another breach of the contract. I have documented every time I spoke and/or emailed with Customer Service to resolve issues, and was told numerous times that they were sorry that information was not relayed correctly.Desired Settlement: I want an amount paid to me to the sum of $7,500.00. For intentional misleading and misrepresentation of the program, for breach of contract in the negotiations with a creditor and for my credit score being negatively impacted well beyond the promises of credit counseling agents of Timberline Financial.
