Window Design Group Reviews (144)

Thank you guys sooo much! I was having issue with my windows because they did not fit the actual frame and it's been bugging me literally, flies have been able to sneak their way into my house because of the shotty job whoever installed them did. I had a referral from a friend. Brandon came and did a free estimate so I knew exactly how much it would cost. So happy with the cost and the quality of work. The guys are super nice too. Thank you again!

Nobody from their installation department has reached out to me for the French door installation and the completion of the unfinished installation since the last time I spoke with the sales manager Tony on 6/1. I even send him an email after the lawsuit was served he asked for my full name and the contract# and never got back to me again. I never refused to pay them; once they deliver the French door and finish the installation I will pay them.
They need to contact me.  I have reached out to them several times and have not heard back from them.
What is the resolution in their response I don't see one.
Regards, A[redacted]

I decided to get my windows replaced as I live near a freeway and I was getting a lot of traffic noise pollution. Brandon came over and gave me a really affordable quote and so I installed new ones from him that were done well under time and matched his quote. Not only is there less noise, but they have made my apartment a lot cooler too, so I spend less on air conditioning.

I am rejecting this response because:\
I placed calls with T[redacted] in Customer Service to follow up on two occasions, who said she was not authorized to communicate with me and that all matters are to be handled by Tony. I have left two messages for Tony via T[redacted], who has failed to return my calls. This was after the explanation that we were out of town for four days, and that the inspection would need to be held pending our return. In view of the complete failure of operational performance, I consider it a perfectly reasonable position to request a delay after being let down by The Window Design group on over 5 occasions. There is a failure to acknowledge that 5 months to deliver and install shutters is unprofessional, and that the crack detected was on replacement shutters that were supposed to be be fully inspected prior to installation for the second time. It also fails to acknowledge the damaged floor and wall in the Master Bedroom outstanding for 4 months that I am expecting to be repaired.
My telephone number is ###-###-####, my mobile is ###-###-####. The claim of multiple attempts is inaccurate, and points to a failure of internal communication once again at Window Design. If the claim to want to contact me is evident, and you stand behind your products, I will be looking forward to a returned call from someone who is familiar with the case history and requirements as opposed to someone trying to give a bland response to the Revdex.com.

I am rejecting this response because the plantation shutters are still incorrect on the 3rd installation.  I still have not received any responses back from C[redacted] or anyone at Window Design Group to discuss my issues to date.  Below is the latest email that I sent to C[redacted] today.C[redacted] and D[redacted] came today (January 30, 2016) to install the remaining sliding door shutters for the guest bedroom, dining room and living room.  As indicated in my prior email on January 15, 2016, which you still have not responded to, these shutters were missing the associated "frames/boxes" when S[redacted] came for installation last time on January 15, 2016.  Further, these were the shutters that had to be re-manufactured due to the original manufacturing error that occurred in October 2015.  S[redacted] proceeded to install the guest bedroom shutters and noticed that the shutter panel sizes were incorrectly cut versus the purchase order; they were too large for the frame/box leading to the louvers not being able to be opened correctly.  He has taken pictures of the incorrect panels and will show you.  He also checked the dining room and living room shutter panels and noticed the same issues.  As a result, he did not install the dining and living room shutters and left the partially installed, incorrect shutters in the guest bedroom.  He indicated that the three sets of sliding door shutters will need to be re-manufactured again before they can be correctly installed. To summarize my experience with Window Design Group which began in July 2015, I have waited 6 months for shutters where were to take approximately 4-6 weeks per C[redacted] back in July 2015:1) The shutters were delayed 5.5 weeks due to an issue with the louvers machine part being broken,  2) On the 1st installation date of 10/18/15, the shutters were incorrectly manufactured with tilt stick and 30/70 dividers when the PO indicated no tilt and 50/50 dividers, this error was across all shutter panels which led to the re-manufacturing of all panels that took approximately 12 weeks,3) On the 2nd installation date of 01/15/16, the "frames/boxes" for the guest bedroom, living room and dining room sliding doors were missing. The confusion over whether the prior installer M[redacted] had left them at my residence or not would have easily been clearly up if someone would have called me before hand.  This led to further delay of waiting on the re-order of the frames/boxes of 2+ weeks.4) On the 3rd installation date of 01/30/16, as I indicated above, the size of the shutter panels were incorrect and could not be installed.  Installer indicated that all remaining panels need to be re-manufactured again before they can be correctly installed.  He could not provide an estimate of time to re-manufacture the panels.Through all of the delays, the customer service (or completely lack thereof) has and continues to be piss poor.  As I said before, with the exception of S[redacted], I have not received any email responses or call backs from you C[redacted], Cynde or anyone else from Window Design Group. The incompetence of your plantation shutter manufacturing service is beyond shocking and the poor customer service is inexcusable.  The amount of time, stress and frustration that I have endured through this process is beyond that can be tolerated by a reasonable person.  As a result, I have no choice but to cancel my entire order (REF151[redacted]20) and receive a full refund of the $4,100 that I have paid to date.  I also want the partially installed, incorrect shutters in my guest bedroom to be removed by S[redacted] at his earliest convenience. Please acknowledge receipt of this email and process my refund.  If I do not hear back from you this week and see a refund of $4,100 to my credit card, I will be filing a complaint with the California Contractors State Licence Board and also seeking legal action.

Y[redacted]

Our technician Yordan did inspect the project and complied with repairs needed. We have ordered the warranty issue items with the vendor and should be receiving them as quick as possible. Once received we will have Yordan (or his crew) out to complete the repair.

I am rejecting this response because:
This was one of the worst customer experiences I have ever received by a service provider.  They charged me...

in advance, consistently misrepresented what was going on with my order and even after multiple requests of calls from owners and managers I never received a call.  After threatening to dispute the charges and filing a complaint they installed the product that had been paid for months in advance. I have never received a call or explanation for what has happened. I want it noted in the business burea how poorly this organization treats it customers.

I just wanted to write a quick review about the Window Design Group. I had my windows installed yesterday and boy am I beyond excited and pleased with the work they did and the professionalism. From the start of this experience, it has been great. They offered me an amazing price, the sales representative was never high pressured and was able to answer all my questions. I am a very picky person when it comes to my home, so I asked a lot of questions. The sales representative told me the windows would take 3 to 4 weeks to install and they were installed in that time frame. The installation team was so clean and considerate to my home. All in all my overall experience was hands down great. If you need windows and aren't sure who to use, trust me. USE THESE GUYS. Thanks for everything Window Design Group, from a happy customer.

I strongly caution anyone who is considering doing business with this company. We should have checked the business reviews first - painful lesson learned. We have never submitted a review of a company before, but intend to do so with this experience.

We inquired about the replacement of two windows for our home and contacted Window Design Group where we had noticed their advertisement the Home Improvement Guide. The salesman [redacted], made an appointment to come to our home. To be objective, [redacted] was polite and professional to answer all of our questions, we placed the order for the windows.

We were told the manufacture process takes between 3 to 4 weeks before the windows will be ready for installation. It was 7 weeks before they were installed. Well, we figured ok, not the end of the world, things happen. On the arranged day of installation, the installer arrived who's name was [redacted]. He setup and immediately proceeded to remove the old windows. One of the old window panes fell and shattered after removal - as it had been leaned against the house. We realized after [redacted] left that glass was everywhere - which we had to clean up ourselves. Another old window pane shattered next to his trailer in the front yard. Same problem, pieces of glass were scattered everywhere - which we had to clean up ourselves in that location as well.

When preparing to install one of the new windows, I noticed a large crack on the corner of the frame - which would be facing the inside of the house. After expressing our concern - he explained the crack would not have any effect on the performance of the window, and it would be covered up with molding trim. [redacted] commented he had seen windows arrive in much worse condition! I could not believe he made this comment to us. [redacted] took a picture and sent it in to the office - to which they replied and offered to discount the window by $100 if we had it installed. We were in a difficult position - the old window was out, the new window was damaged. Decided to accept the discount and have the window installed, bad decision. The molding covering the crack now bulges out away from the frame. In fact the other window has a similar problem with the molding bulging out as it does not adhere to one corner of the other window. My opinion is their method to apply the molding around the replacement window is poor, as the molding is not firmly mounted to a complete surface. We have contacted Window Design Group to have this repaired to our satisfaction. Wish us luck, no response for a service date on this problem as of yet.

Here is the kicker. After the install was complete, we wrote a personal check for the discounted balance - and sent it with the installer. Three days later, I noticed a transaction posted to our credit card for the entire (non-discounted) balance by Window Design Group. Although we had written a check, Window Design Group had billed our credit card for the full amount - which we had not authorized! After contacting Customer Service and our salesman, [redacted], about this billing problem, they agreed to look into it and return our call. Well, no return call from Customer Service or [redacted]. We had to call [redacted] - who explained our check would be destroyed, and Window Design Group would be sending us a refund check for the discounted amount. If this is what actually happens, it will be fair. Stay tuned, wish us luck.

Problem is lead time was nearly twice as long as we were told it would be. One of the windows was damaged upon arrival. The window was not inspected by the installer for damage before removal of the old window - we had to do that. The workmanship of installation was shoddy. The installer never layed a tarp to protect the carpet - we had to do that. The mess from broken glass in two locations was never cleaned up - we had to do that. The trim/molding on both windows is not sticking to the new window and bulges out. We press the molding down, and later it comes up again. This problem is unresolved, and we have yet to arrange a service date to have this repaired. Window Design Group issued an unauthorized charge to our credit card when we had already paid for the full balance by personal check.

In the beginning we were excited at the idea to get these windows replaced - as we had been considering this now for nearly 6 years. Well, Window Design Group deflated this excitement. If you are shopping for replacement windows - we suggest you look elsewhere.

I couldn't be happier with my new windows from the WINDOW DESIGN GROUP. What a GREAT company!! From scheduling my first appointment to installation day everything was SMOOTH SAILING!! I would highly recommend this company!!

Review: I had a in home window replacement consultation on 11/18/14 and placed an order for window and patio door replacement. but I decided to cancel on 11/21/14 called the office and spoke to a woman and told her my name and that I wanted to cancel my order for window replacement and she told me I would have to speak to the salesman how I dealt with and thats the only way to I can cancel the order, she also said she would have him call me, after speaking to her I left a message on his cell phone that is on his business card I didnt receive a call back in an hour or so and I called the main number and got hung up on while on hold so I had called my credit card company earlier for info on how to handle this I called them again and opened a dispute after I felt this company seemed to not be operating in a dishonest manner at about 4:30 pm I reveived a call back from stephan the salesman it took a couple calls to actually talk to him on the message he left he said they didnt need a second measurement and the were going to start with making the windows I told him on a message on his cell phone to cancel the order about 5 hours earlier in the da, so I told him that again and he said I cant cancel the order , them asked him that didnt I have 72 hours to cancel and he said I have waived the right to cancel and I said you never said anything about a 72 hour canceling policy or that I had waived the right their are a lot of other reason why I wanted to cancel but also they said I had to do a second measurement before they started doing anything as far as manufacturing but after I left the message to cancel they said they had started I think they are operating in a very unethical way any help you could give me would be appreciatedDesired Settlement: I would just like to cancel this order, which I tried to do with them as I contacted them within 72 hours of placing order for windows, but this company just wants to disregard

Business

Response:

The customer signed a contract with our salesperson on

11/18/14. The customer informed our salesperson that they were in a hurry (as

also indicated on their Home Owners Association Request Form) and needed the

windows rushed. We contacted our vendor with the preliminary measurements and

held (cut) material/product for the rush. This order is custom made and cannot be

cancelled.

Business

Response:

I have complied to all of our rights concerning the contractual agreement. We have all signed documents from the customer. We have never conducted business in an unethical matter.

I am rejecting this response because:Every window company I have talked to says a buyer would have the 72 hour right to cancel which I did also your salesman never mentioned anything about about my right to cancel also said I could cancel and they would return down payment , it,s too bad you run your company this way very sad I just cancelled so I could do some research as to the way these were sold they were sold under a different name on bill and part numbers are for a different brand , but I was probably going to get them from your company but the way I got the run around it is hard to do business with your company I could only imagine if you have a problem with the windows after their installed , that being said if you had just done the normal cancellation I probably would have gotten them from your company

Regards,

A professional window replacement company that has perfected what they do. Love the my new windows. I'm have recommend this company to my family and friends, and now to anybody searching the internet for a solid window replacement company. Their website says they do window coverings too. I'd have to assume the experience would be the same as my window experience. Check 'em out! You'll be glad that you did.

Review: I bought 4 windows from Window Design Group, sale person, Keith Kwyer on 3/17/15. The total was 1511.93 dollars with installation which was going to be in 4 hours. When he sold me the windows, he told me The windows are Retrofit and when installed it was not going to be any damage to the original frame of the window or stucco. "The window are custom made" he stated. I gave him 600.00 dollars check as deposit. The day of the installation. 4/17/15, the installer noted the windows were too big; he push, bang, and force the window to fit in, but he couldn't do it. he started to cut the original frame. I was concern and I ask questions, the man said "How do you want me to install, the window is too big"." This is common; we do all the time when don't fit". I ask, but the windows are supposted to be custom made. he said, I do't know, who ever measure didn't do it right. and kept cutting almost to the wood part that was part of the upgrade when I bought the house. My house is only 9 years old I wanted to tell him to stop but I couldn't, he had taken my old windows out. he was able to put the windows in place from outside, but he noted something and call me, saying," there is a problem I can't finish today" he show me a big gap in the other side of the window inside the house. "I need 2 parts to cover the opening. and he left. I didn't want him comeback, but 3 days later, T[redacted] . The manager call and ask me nicely to let them finish. I agreed but only to finish the two windows. he said "is okey" They came back on 5/1/15 and finished the 2 windows. I didn't allow them to do the other 2 windows. The installer call T[redacted] got upset and demanded to get pay the balance 911.93. T[redacted] ordered to leave the window with me. I say no unless the windows are fixed and I close my door. They left the windows outside by the garage. On May 7, I notice, they took 911.93 from my checking acct. I went to my bank and I am contesting. I am waiting for an answerDesired Settlement: I know I have a contract with Window Design Group but I also know that they failed to deliver the right size windows order (they don't fit and they damaged my original frame of my windows in order to fit). that's the reason why I didn't allow them to put the other two windows. I want my refund or fix the windows to the right size.Thank you

Business

Response:

The customer refused the installation due to her trying to explain to our installers "how the windows should be installed". Our installers walked step by step with the customer exactly how we install, our company and our installers are licensed contractors and have been installing for 10+ years. The customer spoke with our general manager after throwing our installers out and agreed to allow the installers to come back out to their home (different date/time) to finish the installation. Upon arrival the customer again started yelling at the installers and through them out of the home. They began to drag their windows out to their trash can when we told the customer she purchased the windows and it product belongs to her. Additional fee's have occurred due to the customer not allowing the installation on two given dates. We are filling a small claims lawsuit for her balance owed.

I am rejecting this response because: They are not telling the truth. I did not threw them from my house or yell at no body. I am not a violent person. The first time I agreed to comeback to finish the installation of the first two windows was after I had spoke with the manager Tony and he promise me that the window was going to be beautiful. He also told me that I did not have to put the other two windows if I didn't want them. After they finish the installation of the two windows, I told the installer to fix the other two windows so it won't happen the same problem as with the first two windows. The installer call his manager Tony, and he disagree and gave order to leave the windows at my house. I try to talk with manager Tony ,but he was not listening he told " I don't have time to talk with you will receive a letter from me". The letter never came instate he took the balance from my bank. On 5/22/15 T[redacted] from their office call me first threaten me to swe me if I didn't pay them now I told T[redacted] that all I wanted was to fix the windows and finish with the installation. She was surprise to hear that and told me "I didn't know we had that option, let me call you back". She call me back left a message "I don't think we can do that you don't like us".Regards,

Response:

We have testimonies not only from our installers but also from varies office staff that refuse to be verbally abused by this customer. We have photos of the customer dragging the windows to her trash can. We also have photos of the windows that had been installed and look perfect, prior to us being thrown off the job. She even confirmed with our general manager that the windows installed were perfect, however she did not like the technique/knowledge ( 25 years of window installation) used to install them, she believes she has more knowledge than the installation crew.

Review: 10624137

I am rejecting this response because: They continue telling things that are not truth. I do not know what she is referring about me being verbally abusive. The only time I talk with two people from their office was The manager Tony when I was explaining that I wanted the window to be fixed and continue with the installation but he did not listen the hall sentence because he stop me and told that he didn't had time to talk with me and I will receive a letter from him. and the other person is T[redacted] The first time I talk to her was when I call to complain about the first installer left the first two window unfinished the installation because he didn't had the parts. I call to tell her that I was unhappy and also because I didn't know when they were coming back to finish with the installation . T[redacted] responded very aggressively and told me that she did not know about the date, and what I was trying is to get out of the contract . The second time I talk to her was after I got my money back from the bank. she call me to tell me that the check didn't got funds I told her is not that I don't have the funds I toll her "I close the Acct. because you took the money with out my consent . The third time I talk with her was to threat me. She call me and told me yelling "I am starting a sue against you right now if I don't pay me". I told her why should I pay if you didn't finish the job. I also told her 'all I want is to fix those windows and finish with the installation. That when she told me "I didn't know we had that option, let me call you back" She call me back and left a message, I don't think we can do that you don't like us. Now tell me who is the verbally abusive? I tried to solve this problem but it seems llike they don't want to do nothing about.

This company has an awesome staff! Very friendly and helpful! Amazing prices and quick installation!

I wanted to take a moment to thank you and your employees for the superior job that your company performed on our home. We had 22 windows installed and new window shutters put in as well. We had an extremely positive experience starting with our salesman, [redacted], and it was carried through by the window replacement installation crew, the window covering installation crew, and finally your office staff. Everyone was cheerful, helpful, and took the time to keep us informed every step of the way. The end result is a beautiful house that feels brand new!!! I wanted to make sure that I passed along how happy we were with The Window Design Group and I will not hesitate to recommend your company to our friends and family. Please pass my gratitude and thanks on to all the wonderful people who made our home beautiful.

Review: I ordered shutters for my parents home on 1/22/2015. I was sent a letter in February saying there was a problem with shipping and it would take another 5-7 weeks. I spoke with [redacted] on Friday, March 6 and she said due to the slow down in the port the shutters would not arrive any time soon. I found this statement curious as the company states the shutters are made in the USA. I asked [redacted] to compensate me for the delay by reducing the price of shades for the guest bedroom. She told me to look on line and get back to her. I called the company on March 12 and asked to speak with [redacted]. The receptionist told me [redacted] was not available to speak with me and that I should call the design consultant Jenna to get a quote about shades. I asked the receptionist how I could go about getting my money back and she told me "you have a signed contract, you can not get your money back." I left a message for Jenna on March 12 and March 14 and as of yet have not received a return phone call. This company is operating in bad faith and I want a full refund of all monies paid at this point. I would like to settle this without litigation.Desired Settlement: I want a full refund of the $722.33 I paid for the shutter which have not been delivered.

Business

Response:

The order for the custom made shutters are completed as far as the cutting of materials and the pre assembly . The shutters are made in the USA as promoted. We had sent out the following letter explaining the delay in detail (see below). When the port items have been received into our warehouse our 24 hour (two shifts) production crews will complete orders immediately to ensure a quick installation date. We should have a better ETA for the customer within 2 weeks. From the remeasure date we are approximately 7 weeks into the custom made order, the contract states in the terms and conditions 5-7 week ETA,. Dear Valued Customers,

Window Design Group Inc would like to express our gratitude

for the order you previously placed with our company. As we value you as our

customer, we wish to acknowledge your expected frustration caused by the

extended delay in your custom made order.

Please know that we share in that frustration.

Although we deeply regret the inconvenience, our goal has

been and will continue to be one of providing our customers the best product

possible. As you may or may not be aware the port delay has caused our company

several delay issues. Our components for our shutters (ie: hinges, louver pins,

staples, magnets) come from all areas around the world, unfortunately orders

are awaiting these items for final completion.

We feel the delay in the ports will cause a delay in the

arrival of your order for up to 7-15 days longer than the originally quoted ETA

date.

We truly appreciate your patience and understanding in this

matter. http://gizmodo.com/why-are-these-massive-cargo-ships-trapped-at-29-u-s-po-16[red...

Review: Window Design Group installed shutters in my house. I paid an upfront deposit with the remainder due at the completion of the job. The remaining balance due was $730. During installation the technician noticed a broken louver on the shutter he was installing that could not be replaced while on site. The technician noted the broken louver on his paperwork when he finished for the day and agreed he would not charge the remaining balance because the job was not completed. Three days later, Window Design Group charged my credit card $930 without my authorization. In addition to using my credit card without my authorization, they charged me $200 over the amount that I owed. As of today (two weeks after installing the broken louver), Window Design Group has quoted another three weeks before the louver is manufactured and ready to install. Window Design Group has told me they refunded $700 yesterday January 21, but I have not yet received confirmation from my credit card company.Desired Settlement: Window Design Group needs to refund the full amount charged without my authorization, $930. Once they complete the job, I will pay the balance due of $730.

Response:

We have been in constant communication with this customer. See below the email sent to the customer yesterday, stating our legal position based on their contractual agreement with our company. HOWEVER, the customers credit card as stated was refunded $700.00. We do not control the credit card processing company and/or their banking institution regarding their time allowance before his refund will appear onto his account. The customer should call his financial institution for their terms and conditions.

If you are looking for a company with a great price, great service, and an overall great experience please call Window Design Group. These guys were great from the start. They did exactly what I asked and my home is now complete. Thank you so much Window Design Group for my shutters!!!!!
