Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because: It is unfair to ignore my explanation and close my account when I was the one thereI don't understand how this is possibly fair when I did everything in my possible power to keep that dog inIt is not my fault her owner did not know one thing about training a dogI will Pershing this further

HorribleSitters recieve no background check to work here, so through the Rover service, I inadvertently let a thief/addict into my home for three daysShe got inebriated, trashed my house, stole items, and starved my dogRover took ZERO responsibility beyond firing the sitter, and this sitter cost me hundreds of dollarsMy dog has just now, after almost weeks, begun to eat normally againRover needs to be FORCED to take responsibilityI'm considering legal actionMy heart aches for those of you whose dogs were killed by sitters employed by this racket

On August 18th -21st I hired a pet sitter to watch my cat and dog while I was on vacationOn the 19th of August the pet sitter decided to have someone spend the night in my home with out my permissionI called her over and over again, she did not answer until the next morningI was horrified! I told her she could not have anyone else at my home for the remainder of the stayI then received a call from her mother telling me that if I didn't allow her daughter to have her friend over, along with periodic visits from her mother, they were going to abandon my petsI spent money on getting an early flight back, and wasn't given a dime back from Rover.com, and their resolution is to continue working with the "pet sitter", and provide her with trainingWhat is even more frustrating, this isn't the first time I have worked with a sitter from this site, who decided to change our agreement, once I was already in another state, helplessIf this is the standard by which Rover.com holds it's sitters to, I want nothing to do with them and have deactivated my accountI am disgusted this pet sitter is still a part of the Rover.com community, and I am out well over $between what I paid Rover.com, Groceries I purchased for the "pet sitter", and the flight I had to take back earlyVery disappointed)I became even more frustrated when I discovered Rover.com manipulated the content of my review written on them via TrustPilot.comIn my review, I mentioned the pet sitters first name and first initial of her last name Conveniently, rover.com found an issue with my review indicating it broke trustpilot.com privacy rulesWhat's odd, is there are over a dozen reviews written on rover.com that contact first names.Shame on trust pilot for allowing rover.com to manipulate the content of the reviews for rover.comAfter everything I have been through, I cant believe how they are going out of their way to protect a sitter who violated my home and trustFurthermore, I am appalled at their ability to enforce privacy rules on trustpilot.com only for those they chooseIt is discriminatoryNo one should ever have to go through what I went through while on vacation

I'm concerned because my dog sitter's profile was removed from the site and I can no longer bookShe is from a different culture and her communication issues caused the company to delete her accountThis is a very important occupation for her and I don't feel that shutting down her profile is an appropriate means of resolving any issuesNone of her clients had any complaints about her so she should be allowed to continue as she was

Hi [redacted] Thanks so much for sharing this feedbackRover’s current policy is to conduct a background check on every sitter or walker on the platformIf you have further concerns about this, or if you’d like to discuss an experience you’ve had with a sitter or walker on Rover, please don’t hesitate to get in touchWe’re happy to help All the best, [redacted]

Revdex.com:I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] , and find that this resolution is satisfactory to meSincerely, [redacted] ***

Rover does not properly vet and train sittersThe sitters are just individuals looking to make extra money on the sideDefinitely, not professionalsOn paper, Julie, our sitter is the perfect sitterUnfortunately, in reality, our dog is injured in a days stayOur dog was bitten with a week recovery and drain tubeCoco was taken to the park where she played with a German shepherdCoco is well socialized and even though it is a dog park, she should not have been allowed to play with a large dog specially with no supervisionThe situation ended in the German Shepherd biting CocoThe wound was covered by her fur and unfortunately, we didn't get home till the next dayAt the vet, the doctor cleaned the wound and removed the fur to surface a deep subcutaneous wound with a second wound that had a deep pocketHow could a a few seconds of a fight result in such a bad wound? Coco is one year old and is still a puppyMy notes clearly stated thatHow can a sitter let a puppy play with a ferocious and aggressive German shepherd? The result is that we're in trauma over the injury and our dog is in pain since days now and will be suffering for another weeksWe're busy, working professionals and have taken the best care of our dog for this entire year with no incidentsThis situation has not only caused us trauma mentally and emotionally as pet parents but, it's unbearable to see a little innocent dog in so much pain and suffering with a drain tube at such an early ageI would highly recommend not using strangers to watch your dogsRover and other instant services have made us blindPeople who are not trained professionals and claim to be "sitters" can never take care appropriate care of your dogYou're better off looking for alternate optionsAs for Julie, she was apologetic and offered to pay for the vet chargesI have only one question to ask her - 'What if your own child was bitten mercilessly in your absence and ended up in the hospital? How much money could one pay to give you relief and peace from that kind of pain and suffering?' There really is no turning back from this incident but, I write this review to warn other pet owners from using sitters who may seem to be 'perfect' and are very warm and probably great human beings but, are NOT equipped to take care of your dogThey have probably no training, no concern and definitely no commitment to your dogPlease consider working with Julie at your own risk and likewise with other sitters on RoverI would highly recommend NOT using Rover as they do not vet their sittersReviews are misleading and you will never know how the sitter is managing your pet during your time awayRover did not even offer to refund us for the stayHorrible service with no integrity

I had a sitter stay at my home to take care of my dog for the weekendThe sitter had a visitor stay at my homeI have camera that took pictures showing him and her in my living roomI came back and asked the sitter if she had anyone stay at the house she stated noI contacted rover and all they did is ask for the pictures and gave me a creditI told them I want a refund as I am not using the service againSince then my account has been deleted but as far as the sitter all they did is flag her accountThis is more of a safety issue for my dog and my homeNow her boyfriend and the sitter know where I liveI am afraid or retaliation and all rover did is offer credit

We trusted rover.com to find a pet sitter for our dogs The dogs were mistreated during their stay and one of them has to go to the vet because he has sores all over the underside of his belly and his "elbows" are badly swollen This company did not do its due diligence by checking on the people it recommends as sitters They admitted on the phone that they don't do any spot checks after their initial background checks are completed They then stated that I have to pay a $deductible This is their insurance policy...not mine...why do I have to pay a deductible? I was not negligent except for the fact that I used this service when I should not have...why should I have to pay anything All three of my dogs were in perfect condition when I left them Two of the are injured and the other one isn't acting right

I have been trying to find a reliable dog sitter using RovercomThe first person named Donna C in Carlsbad, CA, was deceitful about the times she showed up to sit with my dogI came home unexpectedly early from a conference to find Donna C had left, without giving me noticeThe second person I chose named Christy Rfrom Carlsbad, CA, totally failed to show up for a scheduled appointmentSo far, I am very unimpressed with Rovercom

I wish I would have seen these reviews before hiring a girl to house sit for a couple of nightsI thought it was strange that she was not sending me updates about my pups, so I kept my security camera on just to be safe amd the sitter was fully aware of itThe day I flew out she had not even showed up to my house until around 9pm and that was only because I messaged her to check on themMy pups were unattended for hours and when she showed she only stayed for minutes before leaving againIt was really late so I decided to wait till the next morning to call and make a report, I checked the camera again and at some point during the night she showed back up and did in fact stay the night, however she woke up pur food in their bowls and then walked out, didnt take my pups out for the morning to relieve themselves at allAt this point I am so upset I call and report it and then cancel the rest of the bookingRover requested I message her and call hee out on it and she made excuses and avoided the questions entirelyI came home to both my main door and my bedroom door with huge holes in them due to the sitters neglect and rover is refusing to cover the expenses because it came from my dogsBoth my dogs are older and I have NEVER had an issue with them chewing on any of my property like thisMy poor dog now has a major case of separation anxiety and its been over a week since ive returned and I cant get him to shake the anxiety even though we have tried everythingRovers guarantee: "What's covered? Physical damage to a pet owner’s personal property caused by the sitter or walker, or the sitter’s or walker’s resident pet(s) What's not covered? Damage to a pet owner’s property caused by his or her own pets, or damage to the property of a pet care provider or someone related to or residing with the pet care provider" the nevlect of this babysitter is the direct cause of the damage to my doors and they are claiming its notSo now I am out hundreds of dollars in replacing doorsAnd trips to the vet for the anxiety

I will never use Rover again after my recent experience with themI booked a weekend stay at a sitter’s apartment through Rover while I went away for a wedding, and my dog had a suspected anaphylactic reaction to something on a walk with the sitterShe was taken to an emergency vet hospital and Rover put down a $1,deposit for any care needed thereI was on a flight and unavailable, by the time I got updated the vet hospital had already run up an insane bill in testing and interventions without my consentMy dog was kept over night and released to a new sitter because I was concerned as to what she was exposed to under the care of the sitterRover then said this was all my responsibility because allergies were considered a pre-existing conditionThis had never happened to my dog beforeRover’s customer service was terrible to deal with, and I was left with the total vet bill, full of testing that I never would have consented forLooking out for other conservative pet owners, DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!

Rover lied to me saying I had a dog in my care that was hit by a car and my final straw was when I offer to help my client cancel his booking and Rover flags thisHad I known, I would have the client cancel his own bookingI have an email from Jake stating this which [redacted] me off since no dog was hit by a car in my careI couldn't even talk to a personIt is all email based nor could I find a numberTHEY NEED TO FIX THIS! What is Seattle Freeze scared to talk to people through phone and only talk to objects??? I am so appalled and angered that they would permanent closed my sitter services along with all my star reviews and return clientsNOT ONCE did they look at thoseI had no animals killed in my careThe one dog that I needed to find another sitter was bad because I couldn't get into contact with the owner after I tried multiple times since he was out of countryWhen I ask to talk to the sitter specialist, all they said was they only correspond through email as I want t

Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because: Rover most certainly should cover my travel expenses as a result of their employee's lack of care I had to pay extra money to return home to insure my pets would be feed, given water, able to go outside, etc This is unacceptable I receive phone calls and emails asking to rate my experience at Rover but my concerns are being ignored Rover needs to reimburse me.Sincerely, [redacted]

This is the worst company ever! They take a percentage out of your pay, it used to be %but now it's 20%! They monitor and read every single message you send to people through their website, talk about invasion of privacy! On top of that they do not care at all about the sitters who have been with for years and have wonderful reviews because they will take the smallest thing as a reason to permanently deactivate your accountThey are the most unethical business I have ever come in contact with

I'll get right to the point - there is absolutely no vetting process to ensure that the person with whom you are entrusting your pet's well being is actually suited to take on such a responsibilityAnyone can sito offer their services - Rover does a background check for the criminal records, but there is no interview process, licensing or certification to ensure that the person is fit to care for your petMy two dogs were severely neglected after I monitored the pet sitter through my security systemCustomer support was worthless with a simply apology e-mail, but no commitment to follow through to ensure that the sitter would be held accountableIt wasn't until I posted on their FB page that anyone took me seriously or even caredThe business model isn't one that protects the consumer at allAnyone can sign up and become one of their pet sitters without any vetting processI've seen a ton of PR about what a cool place it is to work - how about a cool company with integrity to truly offer the "trustworthy" service that they claim to provide

Hired a pet sitter via Rover to stay at my apartment with my dogs for nights (6/3/2018-6/5/2018)The sitter did NOT follow any of the care instructions left for her, did not provide enough water, left the dogs outside in the Arizona heat for over an hour (temperature was over that day), did not provide medications to my special needs dogThe sitter also had an uninvited guest in my apartment without informing in any way, said it was her boyfriend, both slept together in my bed and had intercourseSince medication was missing, one dog had multiple accidents inside, which the sitter attempted to clean with my hand towels and kitchen towelsLittle water and AZ heat caused both dogs to become dehydrated and started to over heat Rover refuses to help pay for the damages to my apartment, vet bills, etcRover showed no sympathy for my animals or myselfOnly refunded my money

Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because: This is contradictory to information previously provided and does not resolve the dangerous issue Sincerely, [redacted]

Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because: Your guidelines are clearly stated online If I had wanted only 3-minute visits from the sitter, I would have clearly stated it and we would have arranged a different fee agreementInstead, I expected her to follow the very clearly stated guidelines provided by you and paid her (through your site) accordingly I love how you mention that she provided premium service during her minute visitsI will be sure to let everyone know that you consider this premium service Sincerely, [redacted]
