My last sitter through Rover.com didn't take good care of my dogShe came home sick and scratchedThe sitter also lost my dog's items such as; leash, two bowls, food container, etcI told her I could wait to get my things, but it's been more than a month! I bought new items, and asked her for a partial refundShe doesn't reply to my messages, completely ignoring meThere's no way to contact the business to report the personI could only write a review, which I haveCustomers should be able to report any problem to the businessI have all the messages, where she offered to pay me back, but disappeared when asked toHer name is Jessica PMy dog was acting weird for two weeks, and sometimes she's still scared around people she knowsShe has never been like that! Poor business, poor customer serviceHer name is Jessica P from Knoxville, Tennessee

Hello all, I have hired a sitter from Rover.com from 05/to 06/I met with the person before sitting to make sure that she is real; I checked her rover.com profile and had positive reviews on Rover.comShe was to housesit my dogs in my houseFirst, my next-door neighbor stated that she was not staying at the house for the first three days, even though she was to sleep there; I was in Europe at the time and I texted her that this is the caseShe did not know that I had my friends checking on dogs as wellShe came to the house at that point (as my friends have confirmed) Then, I came home at PM instead of PM, just to find my two dogs fenced in a yard, while in my living room there were two other dogs and a month old babyDogs she sat thru rover.com in my own home! Afterwards, my septic system broke (this is a brand new home- no one else lived in it) and the company rep who came out to assess the system found out that someone (sitter since no one else has ever lived in the house) flushed un-flushable wipes causing $in damages; pretty soon my washing machine broke----a year old! The repair man stated that engine died because someone put a huge load to washTo replace this was $ Dogs were dirty, house smelled horrible after her care I called Rover.com and spend minutes talking to a very nice person, but there was NOTHING that rover.com could do even though she was their employee; I am choosing not to go with Rover.com for my dogs again since they could not do ANYTHING despite horrible treatment that my dogs got; not to mention damage to my house Please be aware that person can have positive reviews, but still do a horrible job and rover.com will NOT do a thing to remedy this experienceOoops, they will offer a personal match so they can find you a sitter through rover.comWhy would anyone in their right mind hire a sitter with rover.com when they do not stand behind the product they sell you [redacted]  here I come!

I recently had Katie babysit my four dogsI told her one of my dogs had kennel cough and that she would need to give the dog medication every day for the kennel coughI also told her to keep a very close eye on him because he was sickI checked in with her every day and she said that he was OK Then I requested that she take him to the vet because he didn’t eat one dayShe couldn’t get him into my usual vet and then told me he was doing okI had no reference to my dogs condition so I told her that my boyfriend would try to get him in tomorrow My boyfriend got home to one of my dogs barely breathing taking shallow breaths and barely movingHe took the dog immediately to the emergency vet and they said that if he hadn’t taken him that he would’ve died She did not take the health of my dog seriously nor could she tell that my dog was sickConsidering he almost died she should’ve noticed that he wasn’t doing wellI also asked her to feed my fish while I was away which is a fairly simple taskShe completely over fed them and half of my fish diedI have used rover on multiple occasions and have never had a complaint Katie is not fit to watch dogs or fish and I hope that all dog owners take me seriouslyI can’t imagine what else might happen under her care

I really try not to complain or give bad reviewsBut after a few weeks of this stewing in my head, I decided I have to warn other doggie parents Ever used the dog watching/walking app Rover.com? I would suggest you dont or you stopI found a sitter that I really, really likedI booked her multiple times on the appHowever, the last time my dogs were there, my poor [redacted] was bit by another dogOn the eyeThis is in NO way the sitters fault After taking [redacted] to the doggie ER because his eye was bleeding, they said the bite went through all three eyelids and were concerned that it hit his corneaHowever, due to the extremely bad infection they couldnt tell until that was taken care ofSo off we went with some meds for my pupNeedless to say, I was devastated Then Rover contacted me and said they would pay for the medical expenses within a day periodSomewhere there must have been some miscommunication, because I was under the impression that because this was going to need time to be properly diagnosed they were going to pay it all minus the $deductible(They also claim to have premium insurance.) This was GREAT newsI took [redacted] in for a follow upHis eye was still bleeding, only it was on the inside and not drainingMy vet recommended I take him to a doggie oncologistI did, and they said he had an ulcer that needed to be taken care of before she could tell what the damage isI went home with more medsA few weeks later we had a follow up appt and sure enough, he was blind in his left eye due to retinal disconnection from the dog biteFrom the day of the injury until the discovery of his official blindness, was just over a monthSo Rover.com reimbursed me the costs within the days and denied my costs outside the month windowThere may be more costs in the future depending on if his eye bulges and pain level, his eye may need to be removedIn my opinion, this is flat out wrongSome may think otherwise, but [redacted] is my fur-baby, hes my first bornI treat my dogs like they are a part of the familyNow due to an injury he got while under the care of a rover sitter he is permanently blind in his eye and Im expected to pay for the rest of the medical expenses accrued due to this dog biteNot cool

I would like to be paid back for the damage done to my home by their so called "verified sitter" Damaged two bi-fold doors, lost a remote, partied in my home, did not take care of my dog properly (feeding/walking, etc)., stole jewelry in excess of $5k and Rover has done nothing but provide more anguish and distress over this situation Damages (including theft) in excess of $6k I can tell you from this experience with Rover.com I WILL NEVER use them again and now am having AN ADT security camera and alarm system installed this Saturday .in my home 2K system THIS COMPANY HAS CAUSED MORE ANGUISH AND DISTRESS TO DOG, MY FAMILY AND I THAN I CAN EVEN TELL YOU Whatever the sitter did to my dog breaks my heart for her pain and suffering she cowers every time we try to pet or love her ROVER CAN GIVE A CRAP!!!! Personally and monetarily DO NOT USE STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY

Hi there, I had a really bad experience when I send my dog to boarding house from Rover few days ago I send my dog to one boarding house family on Wednesday night, and ready to pick her up on Sunday MorningOn Sunday monring, the family called and told me my dog ran away because they didnt close the doorI was so worried about my dog because it was raining on Sunday and really get angry about the familyHow come they didnt close the doorTHIS IS THE BASIC THING THEY SHOULD AVOID! I asked their neighbor to see my dog and told them my dog ran away on sunday morning, as I have been told my dog ran out on Sunday Monring Actually I found out my dog ran out on Sat NIGHT!! NOT SUNDAY MONRING!! They told me the wrong time and I told every one the wrong time that my dog ran outWe missing the best time to look for my dog I cant believe this will happen in Rover boarding house familyI thought they are really take care of my dog, really careful to look after any dogsBut they dont

Revdex.com:I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] , and find that this resolution is satisfactory to meSincerely, [redacted] ***

I used a sitter from Rover.com to watch my dogWhen I returned my dog showed visible signs of abuse and neglectShe had tree sap matted in her fur and was covered in bite marks and scratchesShe had a puncture wound on her head that has since scarredWhen I picked up my dog, the sitter had dog crates stacked on top of dog crates filled with dogsShe also had dogs running around outside and in the houseThere were too many dogs for her to controlI contacted the sitter regarding the bite marks and scatches and her response was, "that's what happens when dogs play." I brought my concern to Rover and they did not handle the situation properlyThis sitter clearly violated the terms of Rover.com by leaving dogs outside unattended and did not provide a safe environment for my dogI also brought to their attention the other many complaints people had left saying their dogs were also injured while in the sitter's careRover turned a blind eye to my complaint and did not handle the si

When I started vetting sitters I made it clear how difficult a time our little guy had been havingI just had a baby, his doggy sister died recently, we made a major move and then we had to leave on an important day family tripOur dog had experienced a lot of change and needed some extra supportOur petsitter seemed compassionate and reliable and her schedule seemed to allow plenty of one on one time for our dog so the set up seemed idealOnce we were gone our petsitter seemed distant and it was a challenge to get updates without her being promptedShe didn’t seem interested in trying to connect with our dog and he spent the first few days hiding in the closetI had to make suggestions to get her to be responsiveFinally we found out from multiple neighbors that our petsitter had different men in our home without our permissionWe were able to confirm by home surveillance (that she was actually aware of) that she had two men in our home overnight a few different timesWe h

I used this company once and was beyond satisfied bc I have a very volatile dog and the sitter managed to calm her aggressions like it was magicIt was unbelievable and I was able to watch my dog interact with other puppies for the first time ever (she's 6) I began crying when he sent me the video and then again as I saw it in Person .Confident I could go on vacation and leave her with him again, I started to book the stay and found out they deleted his account with no notice to me I'm having to cancel my vacation I used every resource I had to get in touch with him but he's Unavailable he did give me an explanation why, bs and Now I'm livid That's all I'll sayShame on your company

In four days, the pet sitter we found through Rover.com lost our dog twice, was never home in six times we or others checked on him, forgot where the dog food was, and left our house a messThen, after he got fired by Rover.com, he sued me When I contacted them, Rover's lawyers refused to cooperate with me or give me any information about him or their reasons for terminating him, even ignoring a subpoenaThey claimed confidentiality and that their sitters are "independent contractors" to absolve themselves of blameOn their website, they also claim to run background checks on their sitters, but they don't even request an ID or SS#When I spoke to their customer service team, they didn't know my guy's legal name Do not trust this irresponsible company with your pet or your keys

Rover.com did not help us with our issues when we used their boarding service Our dog was not in the location where he was He was not getting a walk daily or going to the park as it was advertised on the website He smelled like he was in a cage all day and night The pictures they sent were just my dog with other dogs standing around looking at each other looking sad and bored on that fake grass Someone else had our dog when we picked him up Everything we packed for our dog in order for him to have a smooth stay was clearly not used We also supposed to have drop off service as well but did not That day when we were ready to pick up our dog, the boarder made us pick him up at another location from a stranger After writing them times asking them to investigate these boarders who lied about their location and services, rover wrote a generic email to us to apologize They did not investigate these people and these people are still boarding dogs with a star rating Wh

Hi [redacted] , Thanks so much for reaching out againWe’re so sorry about your experience--please know this isn’t what we expect from sitters on Rover and we take any safety concerns seriouslyThis is why we honored your request to deactivate your account, as well as contacted your sitter to discuss your concerns with herFurthermore, that sitter is no longer able to list her services on Rover.com We hope that you give us another tryIf you decide to, please get in touch so we can help you choose the perfect sitter for you and your dog We wish you all the best, Courtney

The whole reason to go through a website like Rover is so there is a layer of protection between you and the sitterYou think that in the event of a problem, Rover will step in and rectify the situation I'm here to let you know, they will notThey could care less who is listed as a sitter on their siteWe booked a sitter through rover.com to do once a day min to change food and litterWe came home one night at 1:in the morning to find her past out in our bed and empty alcohol bottles of ours littered throughout the apartment According to Rover they can only offer a third party mediator in case of a sitter issueThey don't care what happened and said they think they can "coach" the sitter so it won't happen againI don't even think they read my emails because I would immediately remove someone like that from my business Needless to say, I highly do not recommend RoverThey offer you no help should an issue arise

Well let me tell you about my Rover.com experience! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!Holy Cow what a mess! They do not care about your dog, cat ,home or anything elseDo not be fooledThis is all about the all mighty dollar regardless of the cost to the customerMy wife and I went on a day cruise and only my neighbors intervening in our absence saved our dogs livesWe selected one of Rovers Star sitters after interviewing a young ladyI am not sure what kind of background check or vetting process they claim to run but I believe Taco Bell and McDonald's has a better screening process in place....WHAT A JOKE! My sitter who was staying at our home walked our dogs as best we could tell from video one time eachThe dogs were not fed or given any water for two daysOne dog was put on a balcony in freezing temperatures while the other was left inside with the heat wide open over degreesThey smoked pot and maybe something else, made drug deals from my homeFor two days it was a revolving door for drugs and my dogs being abused in the meantimeI am so pissed off about this I can hardly seeMy neighbors became concerned when they saw my smallest dog locked out in the cold for hours and did not see our other dog at allThank God one of our friends went by to check on our dogsThe dog inside was dehydrated and starvingThe dog outside was freezing, starving and also dehydratedThis dog could barely walkWhile there they noticed drugs laying around randomly every where!! Then they noticed my wife's new Camaro Convertible was not thereHours later a couple of young hoodlums show up in my car!! Who are these guys? Where is the sitter I hired? HOW AND WHY DID I TAKE THIS CHANCE ON ROVER.COM? They almost killed my dogs, trashed my home, sold and did drugs in my home and stole my carBut they (ROVER) say they are not responsibleWell part of that is right...they are truly not a responsible companyI am having the car thieves arrestedI have already filed the paper workI wish I could have these jerks that are raking in the profits arrested as well....STAY AWAY FROM ROVER.COM and please don't right me some petty footnote that you sympathize with my situation, I do not need to hear your crapI have read your BS on all the other negative reviewsIf I can take you to court or arbitration you can have your say there

This company assumes no liability for anything that happens to your precious pet All responsibility falls to the babysitter/owner to resolveI have used the service a few times this past two months and it really depends on who you getWe have had great sitters as well as some less than spectacular sittersHowever this past incident really made me question pet safety when I entrust my dog to one of their listed star sittersThis past Wednesday I boarded my dog because I am leaving on a business trip on Thursday early morningI dropped my dog off with the sitter this past Wednesday morningI explicitly told the sitter that she needs to be careful because my dog will try to eat anything that enters his mouthAround noon time I received a distressing text that she found that my dog got a hold of some chocolateIt was a little cryptic but the sitter stated that she did not believe that my dog ate any when she came home at 10:in the morningShe tried to put us at ease by stating that in her experience dogs need to eat alot of chocolate to become sick and that she will continue to monitor him Already uneasy with the sitter I continued to trust her judgement as this was my first dog and I felt like she had more experience than meThen around PM that same day, I received a call from her saying that my dog had eaten a cat toy about the size of ring fingers approximately minutes priorI reacted first by calling my vet which was about to close to see what we can doShe had referred us to see the 24hour emergency hospital to see if they can induce vomitingAt this point I had lost all confidence in this sitter so I went to pick him up as fast as I can and rushed him to the hospitalDuring the wait I contacted rover to cancel the stay with the current sitter help find a new sitterThe rover representative was very consoling, apologetic, and helpfulHe stated that the company will even take care of the vet bill up to $I also have pet insurance with a $deductible so this was not an issue for meHe also took care of me in setting up a new stay with actually an employee of rover and said there will be no difference in stay costsAt this point I thought this company really cared about my pet and wanted to make things rightSo about hours after we checked into the hospital, they were able to retrieve the cat toyI was so happy that it came out because that means that we avoided a possible bowel obstruction and surgery to remove itLater that evening I dropped him off at the new sitterThis sitter appears to be vastly better in keeping me informedShe also said that later that evening my dog had vomited up another cat toyWhich is shocking because the first sitter said that he only ate one toyThis only reinforced my though that this sitter was negligent in her care of my precious puppy After I came back from my business trip I filled out the incident report to claim reimbursementAfter the review, Rover denied reimbursement for medical expensesThey stated that reimbursement only occurs after $in medical expenses while our expenses was roughly $The did credit me $for a next stayHowever I feel that I was still suck with the bill and that sitter and Rover should be responsible forFor me I entrusted my precious pet to them to responsibly care for himUnder their care all things pertaining to my pet's well being should be taken care ofThat breach in trust by the sitter and the company's lack in simply doing whats right makes me feel let down by the companyWhat happens if something more serious happens because of lack attentiveness and delay in careAnother representative that talked to us touted their pet connect program where people can call in to be connected to a sitter and the agent can look at the sitter's background and incident reports while as the with the app there is no way we can look at this informationWhat good is a service that does not show this critical information about sitters before we book with themUntil the platform is more transparent and they take more responsibility of what happens to pets under their care, I do not think I can ever recommend them Its like going to the hospital to get a knee replacementIf they replace the wrong knee, its not just the surgical team that is responsible, its the entire hospital

Hi ***, Thank you for sharing your experienceWe're so sorry for any confusion around what the included insurance coversGenerally, accidents and marking are considered an inherent part of pet sitting, and the insurance offered with Rover bookings is intended primarily to protect pets in emergency situations As a further apology for the confusion we would like to take another look at the 25% reimbursement for cleaning we initially offeredPlease reach out and we'll work with you to find a more agreeable solutionWe'd really like to help and are looking forward to hearing from you All the best, Courtney
