Regards,
*** *** My response is that I still disagree with the businessI was not upset when I sent in the emailI simply asked why was I removed from the classHow can you state I was upset from one question in an email? The response I received was due to the holiday schedule and I was placed back in the classMy problem is not with the classes or course workMy problem is that I feel as though I was taking advantage offYes I should have paid close attention before signing anythingI agree with that but I had one thing on my mind and that was going back to school without having to worry about not being able to work while attending school. I have a family to take care ofSo this was a good opportunity for me and would still be if the company had not falsely stated they were affiliated with *** CollegeI became upset when I talked to the admissions deptat *** College who stated that they are in no way affiliated with Distance Learning SystemsThat is my complaint. I then called and talked to the rude man with Distance Learning Systems who informed me that I could not cancel and that I was still responsible for payments because the hour window had passedThat was when I learned of the hour cancelation processYes it is included in the signed agreement but the way they have it set up they don't discuss that part with youIt is intentionally left out because they are trying to get you to sign the documents because classes are limited as they stateEverything was rushed. I should have known it was too good to be trueYou live and you learn After this encounter with them I have researched other schools that function the way they do and they are the only school I have came across that will not let you out of your contract if you are dissatisfied. These people are a joke a big scam artist who functions by taking hard working people's money Thank you, *** ***

Ms*** enrolled in our program by signing a retail installment contract on 10/11/Our contract is very clear in stating that we are not a college or university nor do we guarantee transfer of credits or acceptance into a college or universityOn page 4, paragraph of the
enrollment agreement signed by Ms***, it states: The final acceptance of credits previously earned and admission to a college or university areat the sole discretion of the institution and not DLSIDLSI will structure a unique program of study for the individual to meet the requirements of said institution but hasno control over changes that the institution may implement, including, but not limited to admission requirements, course requirements, curriculum or GPA requirementsand feesA change in requirements is not a basis for cancelling your obligation to DLSIDLSI does not guarantee admission by any college or university.I have attached a copy of her contract for your reviewWe are more than happy, willing and able to provide Ms*** with all the materials and tutoring sessions she needs for the courses she initially enrolled in our program forWe are also happy, willing and able to add the additional courses she needs to complete the program on to her program of study if she chosesShe does have the option to take those additional courses through another program, or enroll in a traditional college or university for those additional courses. We are not willing to cancel Ms***'s contract, but we are willing to provide the product and services she signed up for if her account is brought to a current status. If you have any questions, or need anything additional, please let me know.Thank you,Betsy *** - Contract Manager

While we have thousands of successful students completing courses and degree programs nationwide; we realize that occasionally life gets in the wayFrom this correspondence we could not ascertain exactly what the problem isPurchasing an academic program is a decision most students consider for a
significant amount of time before making the commitmentThe DLSI program of study you purchased maintains a 97% national pass rate, so when a student commits to completion of the program and they work diligently with their instructors and administration staff, they are typically successfulMy suggestion would be to contact the contract manager at DLSI and explain any issues you might have and we'll certainly do our best to aid you in your academic endeavors, or find a solution that makes senseAs always, we encourage you to commit to the program you have purchased, earn the academic credential that is important to your future success, and enjoy the fruits of your hard workEither way, please contact our offices to discuss

Ms*** signed a retail installment contract on 11/16/This contract has a 72-hour cancellation period that is very clearly documented in multiple locations throughout her contractMs***'s chief complaint is that she was not made aware of the testing fees prior to signing her contract
or within her 72-hour cancellation periodI have attached a copy of Ms***'s contract for your review long with a copy of the welcome packet she was emailed on 11/17/The testing fees associated with each course are notated on page of her enrollment agreement and also are broken down in detail by course on page of the welcome packIf you have any questions or need anything additional, please let me know

Yes my emails were replied to in a timely matterHowever I've expressed many times over the phone and via email that this school is not a good fitI am supposed to receive a phone call from the school every Wedmesday at 3:45pm I set this up after online orientation and I have never received a phone call as promised by the school to check on how things are goingI also noted in the contract that there is a day grace period to cancel the contractHow is someone supposed to know if this school is a good fit in days after signing if their first class isn't for a month after they sign? I have called the school more than times expressing how I cannot learn this way and that I am not getting itWhen I finished A&P II I was told that the class would stay open for me as log as I kept logging inI went to log in one day and it was not available anymoreI called and the person I spoke told me that I could not have access to that class anymore.

Ms*** has emailed us with some concerns regarding her learning styleOur academic department has responded in a very timely manner with several suggestions on what she could do to helpIn regards to our pass rate, it is very well documented and we are always here to offer help with study
tips, supplemental information and additional learning toolsI have attached a copy of Ms*** contract along with the documentation on her account. We are not willing to cancel her enrollment, but we will continue to provide a high level of customer support and resources. If you have any questions, or need anything additional please let me know

A personal coach has called Ms*** as we agreedNone of those phone calls have been answered(I have attached documentation from her account again to show the notes documenting each message Leslie left for her) Our cancellation policy is clearly documented in several places throughout the contractThe day right of rescission is to allow our clients to think it over and decide if they really want to earn their RNIf they decide they don't, they have days to change their mind and cancelThis is a retail installment contract (also attached again for review)In regards to the open class, there must have been some type of miscommunicationWe are more than happy to place Ms*** into an open class and can even change her status to do not remove so she will not be pulled from class for inactivity.**I would also like to note (also included in account documentation attached) that Ms*** called in yesterday to be pulled from class due to hurricane recovery still taking place, and that she will call us back when she is ready to be put back in

I have had many problems from the companyThe first issue was when I spoke to MrH*** when I enrolled, he manipulated me into signing the contract by stating that I needed to sign right away because the A&P class was starting right away and he did not want me to miss it by passing such a great opportunityI did sign without reading the contract because I believed him when he said that it was only going to be approximately $per month, which I told him in advance that I could not pay a big fee because I am a single mother, he assured me that it was the cheapest way to goI signed the contract sent it in so I can start my class, then about days later I get a call from their financial institution that I was missing a signature for them to withdraw another $from my bank account for online videos, this was supposed to be included per MrH***, at this point it was too late to get out of the contract, he was not clear and when I tried to contact him, he was no where to be found, so then I emailed the company and received a call from a representative not MrH*** and he said that he could not vouch for what MrH*** told me, that I already signed a contract and that was all he had to say about thatThen numerous issues started appearing with them not being clear about not being affiliated with Excelsior, then the videos not working properly, hence I don't watch them but still getting charged for them, quizzes and tests with wrong answersI still tried in good faith to continue working with whatever cheap merchandise they provided, I wen to the library, pulled information from the internet and so on to barely manage and pass my testsThey have obviously not documented all the issues that I have had with them, I have paid on time, I have not missed a payment, I have like I said in good will tried to work with them, they have been rude and unwilling to even hear what I have had to say in any of the issues that I have complained about and all they have said to me you should have read the contract and that was told to me in a very mocking wayI want them to stop collecting the payments from my bank account, they can keep whatever they have collected for a little over a year and I will just cut this as a lossThey have me also enrolled on the nursing courses which they can't give me a degree on so I don't see why I would have to pay for those since now I will have to come up with $to even enroll on with Excelsior, money that I do not have because of having to pay for unnecessary classesThey trick people into signing their contract is what they do, and its a shame that Revdex.com gives them a A+ rating for cheating desperate people who only wanted to further their careers

In further research - this is detailed information we are able to provide regarding our rapid responses and Ms***'s lack of response: *** sent an e-mail to notify Academics of a failed exam on April 13th at 10:45amThe e-mail did not have of a tone of being upsetShe simply stated if she could wait on starting her next class in a week or two due to this failed examIt was very matter of factFrom reading it, one can insinuate that she is accepting some accountability on her partShe received a feedback form in response to this failed exam notification from Academics on April 14thth at 2:56pmShe received a response the very next business dayShe NEVER responded to this feedback form which its purpose is to start the process to discover where the breakdown occurred and how to adequately prepare to successfully pass the exam on the next attempt. The next e-mail Academics received from *** is on April 15th at 12:09pm with a completely different tone stating that due to the “disorganization and unprofessionalism she is withdrawing from the program” At 12:pm on April 15th (minutes later), Academics e-mails back apologizing that she feels that way but is not understanding where she is coming from because they have responded and were awaiting her response to the feedback form…Manal’s communication specifically: *** sent an e-mail to Manal informing her on April 13th at around 4pm to notify her of not passing the examAgain, with the same positive attitudeShe even thanks her for educating her twice, asked for advice and wished her a wonderful eveningThis however did NOT get delivered because she sent it to the wrong address (that can be verified in her attachments)She received the correct address on an e-mail that Manal sent on March 29th at 11:12am which she also included in her attachmentsSo the e-mail was never received due to ***’s errorAcademics proactively informed Manal that *** did not pass her examSO even though she did not receive an e-mail that *** sent on April 13th, Manal responded in regards to her fail (in which she was notified by Academics not ***) on April 15th at 8:55ambusiness day, she responded to a fail that the client did not even notify her of directly. *** responded to Manal’s e-mail on April 15th at 12:09pm to the correct address (because she just hit reply from Manal’s e-mail proactively reaching out) with the same e-mail that she sent Academics (due to the disorganization and unprofessionalism…)She did not provide Manal what she had asked in her e-mail- ***’s specific exam results- Academics provided Manal with it however. Manal responded back to this e-mail on April 15th at 1:00pm so a minute response time*** did not have any further communicationSo she did not acknowledge Academics feedback form or Manal’s e-mail in attempts to help her

I seriously doubt missing just one class would be the Cause of me not being able to learn one on oneDuring the first class the instructor said multiple times, "quizzes do not have to be turned in"Multiple times this is saidAs far as an advisor, I Never knew I had one until a couple of days ago she called out of the blueEven though I'm being charged for this class, I had to pay out of pocket to take same class at a community collegeWhy should I have to double pay?

When I personally spoke with *** on the phone I explained to her that I was going to email Andrew M*** (her program administrator) and Jack W*** (Andrew's direct supervisor) as I do not handle these type of callsAndrew did reach out to Ms*** on more than one occasion and when she finally did text him - he responded immediatelyI have attached their text messages here(they came through a little out of order, but they are attached) We will not be cancelling her enrollment as she is far beyond the 72-hoursWe will however provide exceptional service and quality study materials that she has purchased as long as her payments are current

I have again attached a copy of the enrollment agreement that Ms*** signedOn page of her contract it is repeated multiple times, phrased multiple different ways that DLSI is an educational publishing firm, that we are not a college, that we do not award college credit, etcThis contract is very clear that we are not a school of any sortThis is also reiterated on page 13, item number and again on page 14.Yes, we do tell our clients that there are grants and scholarships availableThere are - they have to be applied for, some require essays to be written and we have no control over whether or not these grants and scholarships will be awarded to our clientsAll we can do is let them know how to search for them and where to lookOn page of the welcome pack that was sent to Ms***'s email, there is information on where to search for available grants and different financial aid optionsit is also stated on page of the welcome pack: *It is important to note that DLSI does not have financial aidBut once you are enrolled witha college, you have opportunities for assistance through private funding.*We are very clear in our printed material, and the power point presentation that is given in the seminars or webinarsWe will not be cancelling Ms***s enrollment agreement, or issuing a refund of any payments made

We have reviewed this complaint closelyWe believe that the primary issue with this particular customer relates to her health, and as a result she is experiencing financial stressorsWe were sorry to hear she is struggling with this health issue. This client purchase a program of study in
September of 2013, and since that day there have been multiple points of contact including telephone conversationsemails, and voicemails when the customer was not available to speak on the phoneOne such contact was to congratulate the customer on passing the Microbiology examOther conversations included discussions pertaining to her need for college math and how to navigate English Comp and Ethics. There were many, many conversations originating from our office and from the client pertaining to the academic program she purchased, so the line of communication between us has been open and activeAnother issue was an apparent misunderstanding regarding who we are and what we doWe are very proud of the fact that we have the best success rate of any similar academic company in the United States, which is supported by a national pass rate of over 98%In all literature we provide we clearly state that we are a test-preparation companyWe provide test preparation for college proficiency exams such as CLEP, DSST and ECEWhen these exams are passed and the scores transferred into the college of choice by our customer, credit is awarded by the college or universityIn fact, approximately 2,colleges and universities nationwide accept passing scores on these exams for awards of creditWe further state clearly in all documents that we are not a college or university, nor are we affiliated with any college or university, and further that an individual must enroll into a college or university to receive an award of credit and to earn a degreeWe are very clear on this pointOur role in that process eliminates the need to drive to class while allowing the customer to complete his/her classes in considerably less time than in a traditional classroom environmentThis process also allows the customer to continue working and earning a paycheck as we provide flexible schedules and interactive online video classesWe save the customer both time and moneyEducation is not free, but we do reduce the time and money necessary to earn an accredited degree from most colleges in the USThe question was raised regarding financial aid for this programWe, DLSI, do provide pre-approved financing for every student, and following completion of the curriculum, the college, in this case Excelsior, will allow the student to make payments on college fees that do not begin until late in the programI want this customer to know that we appreciate and understand her difficult situation, and that we will provide whatever special assistance she might need to reengage the programWe will also revisit the terms of her financial agreement, if that will be of help to herWe have always been, and will continue to be committed to the successful completion of her program

Our customer, *** *** signed a page contractThis contract was executed via electronic signature in EchosignThis contract was sent to our customers email addressDistance Learning Systems would in no way have access to this email account to fraudulently sign this contract, especially log in multiple times*** viewed the email on October 16, and did not sign and return the contract until October 19, I have included again a copy of his contractpage of is the document history report showing when the document was accessed from*** email accountI have also included a copy of the name affidavit that was delivered via email along with the document history of that as well
We will not cancel this contract, but will agree to provide the products/services we agreedWe have responded in the same accordance here as we did with the Attorney General on February 9,
If you have any questions, or need anything additional please let me know

Revdex.com:I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and have determined that the response would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below. You have not resolved any of my complaints The tutorials are outdated my many years; for exampleNis dated Nis dated Nis dated Nis dated 2009and this is just to list a few You have not addressed the broken english spoken by the instructors that is severely difficult to understand, or the fact that they simply read power points I understand a contract has been signed and the cancelation period has long since passed, but that contract also promised me a product that was up to date and classrooms that were conducive to learning, neither of which you have deliveredDuring the webinar I watched, MrC*** himself stated "we partnered with Excelsior College to provide classrooms for these courses" This is a statement Your company is not partnered with Excelsior, and Excelsior has not reviewed any of the information you provide in your tutorials Inspite of the obstacles I have encountered with your company I have continued with my studies by using more up to date information, and following the content guide that is provided directly from Excelsior College You speak many times and very highly of your percentages Have you factored in how many people are retesting because they failed once or twice? Have you factored in how many simply gave up because they didn't know any better, and considered it a personal failure? If you are able to remove the NCLEX class from my contract as offered in your email to me, then I see no problem with you removing the remainder of my classes and we will part ways.Regards,*** ***

*** *** enrolled in our program on June 3, Our contract is very clear that we are not a college or university nor did her enrollment with us constitute any enrollment in a college or university(see attached enrollment agreement) We also sent a welcome pack via email to her also
on June 3, at 10:amOur welcome pack discusses the need to enroll with Excelsior College (page of attached welcome pack) and discusses the testing fees in detail and makes note of the clinical fees as well (page of attached welcome pack) This email was opened by Ms*** on June 3, at 4:pm(see attached email documentation - I have highlighted the email with the welcome pack)Our contracts hold a 72-hour cancellation periodBeyond the initial 72-hours, there is no cancellationWe will continue to provide the tutoring sessions, material, and academic support Ms*** purchased. If you have any questions or need any further documentation please let me know
