SiDEX was out to this home to adress the issue(s). This repair could not be done at that moment……new material had to be ordered (this was a custom order due to the ‘Ivy’ color). This material was delivered to us this week and before the week is over, the repair should be complete!

Manufacturer defect(s). MANUFACTURER NO LONGER IN BUSINESS! https://windowanddoor.com/news-item/companies/armaclad-windows-doors-ceases-oper... manufacturer of the products ceased doing business in 2014. The same lifetime manufacturer’s warranty that the Kellers expected was the same one SiDEX...

expected also. The manufacturer had all the ‘cutting charts’ to every part of every window. SiDEX has dealt (unsuccessfully) with 3 other manufactures in attempting to purchase screens & windows to service this customer. Numerous times, full screens were purchased by SiDEX. Each time the screens delivered did not fit properly. Finally, we ‘threw up our hands’ and finally purchased new windows. The new windows, when unwrapped at the home were scratched from the bands that held the units together for shipment.Once again, new windows were purchased, an install date was set well in advance that was convienient for the Kellers. Those windows have been installed.Once SiDEX can get in the home when the outdoor temperature is 15 degrees or less, we can accurately determine if there is an issue with other windows or there is a humidity issue in the home.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
I reject Sidex's proposal as there is nothing there to accept.  I  have stated I want the cost reimbursed to me that it cost me to have the gutters and gutter protection that I thought was going up in the first place.  They have not counteer-proposed anything.I have enclosed pictures of what the gutter protection looked like after it was taken down.  Note all the gunk and leaves stuff in the grate system.I spoke with ABC Seamless Home Specialists ([redacted] - owner of Oregon,, WI business) and he informed me that each ABC Seamless is individually owned and operated.  He stated that his "branch" did not do the installation.  He thought there was an ABC Seamless in the Millwaukee, WI area and they may have been the ones that did the installation.  He also stated that he knows for a fact that Sidex does NOT do their own installation of gutters or gutter protection. Also, Sidex did NOT install 2 windows on my garage - it was only one.  They did intall one side door.  I spoke with the installer and he said he was a subcontractor and did not work directly for Sidex.  I still have issues with the siding that was installed and still need to address that,  but feel that should be a separate issue.  I have spoken to the owner [redacted] regarding that also, but did hear anything back about that either.Sincerely, [redacted]  p.s. my pictures will not send - I keep an error message after 5 tries to send this with attachments.

As stated previously, we are willing to provide them glass replacement at their cost, we would be willing to waive the trip charge and just pass the cost of glass on to them

sidex still has not resolved the issue.

Even though manufacturer is out of business we continue to assist customers with there service requests, we went out of our way to find a glass manufacurer to remake failed thermal units, it is not an exact science, we have fair understanding how big the glass should be based on customers "exact"...

measurement, the glass is being remade and will receive them shortly and install them as soon as we get them. As far as reimbursement goes how can we be held liable for a companies inability to maintain their business.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below. Their response is unacceptable, as we purchased these windows for the warranty provided with them. I have contacted a local glass company to fix mine, and am considering taking legal action to hold them responsible for their warranty that they are failing to uphold. If Sidex would like to avoid such matters they may contact us to reimburse us the cost of the lifetime warranty that we have paid in full.
[To assist us in bringing this matter to a close, we would like to know your view on the matter.]

I did originally have contact with Sidex back on Dec 27,2016 w/a mesg  left with receptionist. No reply.Called and left msg on Jan 4,2017. No reply.Called and spoke w/[redacted] on Jan 13. He informed me that Republic was no longer in business. They would cut the cost of labor off, but we would have to pay for the glass itself only. I said I contracted with Sidex, not them. I returned call with measurements on 1/20/17 to [redacted]. He said he'd have me a quote back by the end of the week. It didn't happen.Called again on 2/2 and was told I'd have the quote by email in 24 hours. I received that email on 2/16 with the full breakdown of cost and all the glass installed of $737.41 for 7 pieces. They HAD the measurements and we were given a total not an estimate for the job. This was the winter and you don't replace windows in the dead of winter which is why I waited till 5/18 17 to start the job. I called and left msgs on 5/5,5/18, another on 5/18 along with an email, call on 5/31 and spoke with Jay who said the pieces were being made and my order was being processed. Another email on 6/16 to [redacted].Call on 6/27 and was told someone would return my call the next day. NOTHING! Left more msgs on several extensions on 7/3 along with an email. NOTHING! Now I'm with the Revdex.com. Their customer services SUCKS! They may be busy, but RETURN CALLS!!!This is very frustrating and time consuming. I asked to have a representative from the company to do the measuring for assurance, but no go. I would like to have clear windows once again! PLEASE!!!

Glass is in, trying to coordinate with installer to get to Oregon WI, have upcoming installations in Madison and will get it installed when we are there
