I'm writing in regards to complaint
#*** I filed last week about Advantage Student Loan ConsolidationI received an email outlining a contract between the two parties that needed to be provided for the complaint to be continuedMost of the communication was through telephone but attached are the documents they sent me that needed to signed and returnedAlong with some of the documents, a receipt is also included outlining when the amount was withdrawnOutside of these documents I don't have any other tangible records outlining the whole transactionHowever, it is important to note that their processing center has a detailed outline of key dates and communication between myself and different representatives for the companyIncluded in the outline is the manager promising me a refundAny other questions or concerns don't be afraid to contact me for more information

forms were confusing and the questions asked did not always correlate to their
specific situationsAfter receiving letters of denial or, even worse, higher
payments than they were paying, those very same clients contact professionals
like us because we are specialists that can make sure the application is done
correctly and accurately the first time

However she chose to use us as a service to complete the documents on
her behalf. Shirley Kitchen agreed
through the compliance call that she understood that she could complete this on
her ownWe completed Ms Kitchen’s IBR
program request through her servicer’s on 8/5.
At which point all work was completed as agreed between the client and
her new program. After confirming with
Student Assist Plus, her program was cancelled as she requestedMany of our clients

Upon carefully reviewing
the file and recordings, Ms*** was sent
the necessary documentation to complete the application process on
October 7th We received a fax from the *** *** on
October 27th after reaching out to the client several times Upon
verification of specific documents we found pennant information
provided by Ms*** to not match what the Agent was told in the initial
application The Agent and Customer Service reached out to the client to
verify that our finding were correct and client still wished to proceed
The consolidation paper work was sent to
the necessary servicer(s) after confirmation was complete on 11/
Unfortunately we do not have any control as to how long the
Department of Education may take to finalize and approve consolidation
In this case it seemly much longer for the process to be completed. Advantage Student Loan apologizes for any inconvenience
that this process has caused Ms ***, and would like to reiterate that the
fact the process took longer than was out of our hands and we did all we
could to satisfy the situation as quickly as possible
Ms*** was
also initially denied of additional benefits due to the fact that the
consolidation took a long time and was not completed at the time the additional
benefit application was sent With the consolidation completed we will
apply for additional benefits as agreed if Ms *** would like
Our management has reached out to her and are waiting for a
call back We will issue a refund of cost for
document preparation although everything on our end was completed as
agreed

in order to evaluate a person's options accordingly, we do not "abuse" anyone's
personal informationAs requested after signing up, Mrs[redacted] file was immediately
cancelled and no fee's were drafted. In
regard to Mr[redacted]'s personal information, all information has been deleted
from our systems and he has been placed on both the "do not call" and "do not
mail" list
After careful review of the call the
employee did not claim any affiliation with the Department Of Education. The employee stated that," we work on your
behalf with the Department Of Education" as its written in our company script. If an employee attempted to claim affiliation
with the Department of Education, that employee would be terminated immediately

We have attempted to reach out to this client via phone and email.  Voicemail box was full. This clients issues will be resolved.

This company is a scam!!! They offer illegitimate and unlawful promises, including promising to consolidate your loan and/or supporting the loan forgiveness act passed by Obama. They present themselves as having a legitimate relationship with the board of education, but the board of education has no relation with them what so ever. No loan provider should EVER charge you to file your loan application, I did not know this!! They are out for your money, will steal it, act as though they are assisting you in your loans, but all the time, they will keep your monthly payments for their own gain!!! Do NOT do anything with them!! They were able to get $250 from me, before I realized I made a mistake. Thank God I caught on quick!

The representative I spoke with on the phone was very convincing and assured me that he is working with the U.S Deptartment of Education to resolve my student loan debt. I went through the whole process, signed lots of papers and made payments to the company. I received a notice from my current student loan provider saying they would not approve my forbearance, I had second thoughts and called Advantage Student Loan to revoke all the release and information I had provided, the representative told me he would call processing to cancel my fees and call me back. After not hearing back from the representative I called again but couldn't get in touch with him. I strongly believe this is a scam! I am in hopes that I can get all of my personal information removed from their hands and get the money I have paid in back!

This has been the answer to my prayers. I cannot express how pleased I am with the help I was provided. I was VERY skeptical - but am now SO pleased.

I really like how fast a representative gets back to you if they are unable to answer your call. Advantage student loans explain everything to make sure you understand the process and what the company is about. The fact that Advantage Student Loans takes care of all the paper work for me, it really makes my life a lot easier and less stressful.

The individual whom is filing the complaint was never enrolled as a client and has never done business with the company. 
We use multiple marketing
companies that use direct-mail solicitations, radio, internet and email to
generate leads for the student loan industry.  We are told that the
marketing companies using direct-mail as a way to generate calls, use many
different response models using proprietary algorithms. 
We are sorry for any
inconvenience this may have caused and have removed this individual from our system and put her on the do not call list for the company.

I have a right to know the name (s) of the marketing companies who sold my private and personal information to this company without my permission.  I would also like for Advantage Student Loans to acknowledge and accept responsibility for willfully and intentionally misleading consumers by telling them they work with the Federal Student Loan program. That is an outright lie and the Federal Student Loan Program not only outright denies the bogus claim but warns consumers not to do business with these Loan consolidation companies because they are scamming people.
