I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below. I know that they recorded it on the hard copy. The handwritten notes did not show up on the computer when they scanned it and I still need to know the code for the check engine light. If it does help the number on top of my invoice is 302853 from Russ Darrow Kia.
Regards,
[redacted]
I went to Russ Darrow today 1/25/17 due to a couple of days ago my key fom would not start my car. I sat in the parking lot of my job and had to try several times for my car to finally start. I called service and made a appointment with Kevin Cameron to check the klunking noise of my front car...
doors(that were sprayed with WD40 when I came in 1/16/17) and my key fom. I arrived at my appointment where Kevin checked my doors and stated the hinges were bad, he stated "he would need to call insurance and see how much it would be and if it was covered," he advised me to have a seat in the waiting area. Kevin comes and advises me I would have to take my car to the body shop to get a estimate and then see if it would be covered thru my warranty. I questioned body shop where? he stated their is one in Waukesha and one across from Sam's Club on 76th...he then states he would check my key fom and would be back- (oh I forgot to mention Kevin waived the diagnostic fee to look @ my car...not sure what they diagnose) While Kevin went to go check on my key fom I called the GM- George M[redacted] I told him I wanted my truck back. I said this was the worst deal I have ever encounter with purchasing a vehicle. I have never spent so much time @ a dealership for a new vehicle. I know the vehicle is preowned but I would think with these things being in the 1st month it would be resolve with no problems. George M[redacted] stated there is nothing wrong mechanically with the vehicle so there is nothing he can do. He said my truck was contracted to the bank and this contract is now thru the bank and it would be a volunteering repo...I told him I was very upset he couldnt helpme and I was setup on the worst car deal- he stated I had 1 of the best warranty -( the warranty was only a extra $1k and then has a deductible for any work done)....I was then told by Kevin Cameron nothing is wrong with my key fom and I would need to go to the Dodge/Chrysler dealership and let them check to see if my new vehicle has any updates that needed to be added or any recalls....so again a vehicle I have purchased in December 13, 2016, I have spent more time at the dealership trying to resolve issues instead of enjoying the vehicle. I have to get a estimate from a body shop to contact my warranty to see if that is covered and then I have to contact the other dealership and check to see why possibly the key fom is not working. This is the worst costly car purchase I have ever experienced. I shouldve listen to my gut because they already had a bad reputation.
I am sorry that you are having issues with your used vehicle. The vehicle was purchased as is with no implied or stated warranty. It sounds as though you purchased an extended warranty and may even have some factory warranty left on the vehicle. If there are any issues with the vehicle you can use one or both of those warranties to help with the cost. As for the windshield and the detailing of the vehicle, we fixed the windshield and also detailed the vehicle twice. If you still do not like the vehicle, you can trade the vehicle in at any dealership of your choosing.Nicole P[redacted], Corporate Paralegal
Please take this response as your receipt for the July 2017 $100.00 payment. Also, legally your bank statement would be your receipt as we do not normally send receipts in the mail as our system does not allow for it, it would be a manual process and this is not something that we normally set...
up except for in situations such as yours.[redacted], Corporate Paralegal

I have reviewed your complaint with all applicable managers and provide the following response:The Pilot is not the same as the Pilot Touring Elite. The Touring Elite is a limited production vehicle that we do not take orders on. Russ Darrow Honda has not even been allocated any...
Elites in 2 months. We do not offer discounts on Touring Elites under any circumstance as they are rare and we can get full purchase price very quickly. We only take orders on standard Pilots and other trim models not including Touring Elites. On a side note, Honda is out of the 20" wheels and our dealership will have to wait at least 6 months out on receiving any. The email we received as well as the complaint filed with the Revdex.com from the customer did not state or distinguish the exact trim level. The General Manager has personally explained this to the customer by email and the limited availability on the vehicle he is searching. In the complaint the customer states that he located a vehicle in Illinois that fits his criteria. I would suggest that he purchase that vehicle as we will be unable to accommodate his requests as it relates to the current complaint.[redacted], Corporate Paralegal

I'm sorry that you still feel that we are liable to pay for damages to your vehicle, however, as I stated earlier, the letter from Honda after turn in goes directly to the customer 30-60 days after the transaction is done. If Russ Darrow takes the vehicle in on a trade-in we issue a payoff to Honda and keep the vehicle. In your case, the vehicle was the property of Honda as it was not a trade in. We do not get involved in the excess wear and tear charges under these circumstances and would not have known what was going to be charged until after Honda picks up the vehicle, thereby leaving the potential damages open ended.

Thank you very much for helping me god less you and have a good one . [redacted]
I am confused...I have offered an appointment to look at and deal with all of the issues that you complaint about in your initial complaint through the Revdex.com and the DOT. I am not sure if you didn't get that information or if you are choosing not to make an appointment. I will be out of the office until January 22nd, so please contact me directly after that date to set up an appointment to look at your issues.Thank you,[redacted], Corporate Paralegal###-###-####/direct
I'm sorry that you feel that all of your vehicle issues should be taken care of by Russ Darrow. However, as stated, you purchased a used vehicle with no implied or stated warranty. You have the choice to trade the vehicle in if you don't want the vehicle, but that is up to you. [redacted], Corporate Paralegal

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me. After filing the complaint, someone from the business, Bob [redacted], finally called us and fixed the issues. Wish they would have just resolved this in the first place after the initial phone call, but we are happy it is finally fixed.

I am sorry that you are experiencing issues with a vehicle that you purchased in April. The vehicle was a used 2008 Dodge Caravan with 85,000 miles. The vehicle was sold in an AS IS used condition with no implied or stated warranty by the dealer. In your complaint, you stated that...
we agreed that we had not offered any type of warranty on the vehicle for you to purchase. This is simply not the case, please find attached a copy of the declination page wherein you agreed to purchase the Total Loss Protection but declined all other warranties on the vehicle. The problems that you experienced with the vehicle are normal maintenance type items which may not have been covered under the warranty that you declined to purchase. We will be unable to provide any assistance in the maintenance of your vehicle, however, I will provide you a 20% discount on the labor associated with any repair that you need for the vehicle that is part of this complaint. If you would like to schedule a service appointment to take advantage of this discount, please contact me directly.[redacted]###-###-####/direct
After reviewing your complaint and talking with the applicable parties, we will agree to reimburse you for half of the expense. Although there was apparent noise coming from the tires, they were within the specifications that Nissan issues for certified vehicles. The tires must have 50%...
or greater tread on the tires, which yours did. As for the transmission cooler, the leak may not have been evident at the time of the safety inspection or the leak may have been obscured by the oil change. In any event, this should have been covered under the certified warranty. If you would like to accept our concession towards the tires, please let me know.Thank you for bringing this to our attention.[redacted]

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.Further The Darrow Group has exaggerated the milage difference. Current milage on vehicle is 20351. That is a total milage of 3121 miles between changes. Minder currently at 70% oil life. According to [redacted] Honda of Madison and Honda's regional representative, failure to tighten drain plug is most logical and common reason for the car's particular failure, milage being almost a non factor, but with particular oil pressure and viscosity. No damage to drain threading found, which according to [redacted]'s technicians and Honda Rep means failure is not with drain plug, but with place of business that changed oil.

I have reviewed the complaint with the Service Manager and he states the following:A 2008 Dodge Charger with 135524
miles brought to us not running and no start condition. The customers insurance
company provided a preliminary estimate for fire damage in the trunk near the
battery. Upon our...
inspection we found items not listed on the insurance
estimate. We called the adjuster, who came back out to inspect our findings. He
authorized additional items to continue in the process of repair. Once the
additional items were completed the vehicle was able to be started. With the
vehicle now running, drivability concerns and check engine light exhibited themselves.Determining
that the customer had previously had mismatched engine installed elsewhere,
which is not compatible with computer controls and sensors on her vehicle, the insurance
company would no longer participate in further repairs. The option was given
to the customer to start with some of the obvious items needing to be
addressed, such as oxygen sensor replacement. The customer was given an
estimate 845.00 (documented on repair order) which would cover her insurance
deductible as well as the oxygen sensor replacement. It was thoroughly
explained to the customer that this would be a starting point and could lead to
other items needed , due to the fact that the vehicle had the wrong engine. The
customer authorized us to continue. After replacing the oxygen sensors,
faults remained in the computer system. It was determined that the computer
control system would not allow proper fuel and air mixture perameters in order to
properly run the vehicle. The only remedy going forward, would be for the
customer to have the proper engine installed in the vehicle that matches up
with the original equipment.Russ Darrow can no longer participate in the fixing of this vehicle unless the repairs are pre-paid by the customer. Her only recourse as I see it would be to go back to the shop that installed the engine in the vehicle and bring the current issues to their attention.[redacted], Corporate Paralegal
Thank you for providing a copy of the contract. Yes, you are correct...I apologize. You purchased a New Vehicle Service Plan on a used vehicle. The pros for doing this is that the contract is drastically cheaper and you would be getting the same coverage, if not better than the used vehicle service plan. If you would have purchased a used warranty the price would have been double the purchase price, which is why the warranty company and why the dealership personnel sell the new vehicle warranty in place of the used vehicle warranty. I cannot tell you specifics on why this was presented to you since it was in excess of 2 years, but this is not abnormal in the industry. If you would like to extend your coverage, please go into any Russ Darrow location and they can give you pricing on a service contract so that your car can be covered for any mechanical breakdowns.[redacted], Corporate Paralegal

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in refedrence to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this to be closed. However this does not negate the fact that the dealership that I originally went to was totally unprofessional and the GM of that store should NEVER work with consumers. However the management staff of the store located 7676 N 76th St, Milwaukee, WI was professional, apologetic, and very receptive to closing my purchase with me. I was very pleased with the sales person and the finance manager at the North 76th store they were courteous and professional all the way through the close out of my sale.

I am sorry that you feel we missed this issue on inspection, however, that is not the case. Our initial inspection on the vehicle was thorough and informative. We performed a oil change service, a multi point inspection, an A/c/ perf test, replaced front disc brake pads and machine the discs as well as replaced a license plate bulb. The vehicle was in great shape and was sold accordingly. During the purchase of the vehicle I will assume that you took the vehicle for a test drive and had no questions about the mechanicals of the vehicle. Also, you could have taken the vehicle for an independent third party inspection to make sure what you were buying was inspected properly. Did you do this? Also in reviewing your entire service history there never seems to be a question as to any deficiencies with the vehicle. It was not until you brought the vehicle in out of the blue on September 23rd for an inspection to see if the engine cradle was rotting out that you brought any concern to our attention, which was 1 year and 20,643 miles later. However, you failed to mention at the September 23rd visit that the car had been involved in a moderate damage rear end auto collision just 14 days before. This collision could have accelerated the separation in the weld and brought the issue to the forefront. Obviously there is no way to tell exactly what happened, but Russ Darrow is not liable for this issue.Attached for your review is the WI Buyer's Guide that you signed acknowledging receipt of the same document which is contained within the paperwork for your vehicle purchase.[redacted], Corporate Paralegal
