It took time but we have successfully resolved the issue.

I have had an airmiles card since for over 10 years.
I have been collecting points off and on since almost 2003.
I went online to look at how many points I have and the balance was 0.
When I asked they said the points got deleted because I didn't use the card in 2 years.
I was never informed of this change to terms and conditions.
I have never used any points from my account.
I would like to use the points I collected.
They should all be there from when I opened the account.
In addition, they told me that they deleted my account due to inactivity, yet when I signed into my account, my personal information was all still there since the time I signed up.
They just got rid of my points and kept all of my personal information.

When I tried to talk to them and said that I might as well delete my account, they asked for a confirmation and deleted the account without a confirmation.

Desired Outcome

I would like to have all of my airmiles points I have ever earned put back into my account so that I can use them to fly somewhere or buy something. ***.

Hello,
I was supposed to fly out April 18th with *** with flight tickets I purchased through Air Miles. *** had made significant changes to my itinerary, but this was not communicated to me. I only found out after checking my flight status the day before our flight. Found out that my direct flight was now leaving earlier than I could accommodate (I would still be at work) and had awful stop overs both to Kauai and return to Vancouver. *** The flight back would have us fly in to San Francisco at 5am and then after so many hours, home to Vancouver.

*** I had spoken with both *** and Air Miles and explained that I never received any communication of changes. Air Miles tells me it should have been *** and their change to the itinerary was only made yesterday. *** tells me they communicate changes with the booking agency and it's up to the booking agency to contact me and that their communication went out March 27, 2019. I checked both my e-mail and junk e-mail, but nothing was sent to me.

Air Miles couldn't rebook me on another direct flight, the only other one being ***. I had to cancel with Air Miles and get back the points I had originally used. What had cost me just over $500 Cdn has now cost me over $5000 Cdn to book through *** on a *** flight which is close to the same flight times as *** and is also direct.

*** What was once an affordable trip has turned into something I never would have paid. But accommodation is booked, time off for vacation is booked, and kids are missing minimal school as this falls over the Easter holidays.

I appreciate that the grounding of the Max 8's was the reason flights were changed, but I was checking my e-mail in case there was any communication in relation to this. The person I spoke to at Air Miles told me that they can change flights at any time and return our money right up to the flight time. That seems absurd to me given that there's so much more cost involved than just the flight tickets alone.

I've spoken to the complaints department and all conversations have been recorded. I believe anyone who listens to those recordings will find that Air Miles on a number of occasions, contradicts themselves and the customer service they provide is disheartening. I was told at one point that the Max 8 situation was 'an Act of God' and that 'numerous people lost their lives'. How this pertains to the lack of communication I have no idea and, in my opinion, is only serving to make me feel guilty and drop my complaint.

I would like Air Miles to honor the cost of the tickets at the original cost and points I used

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)Hello,I appreciate the more rationale conversation I had this time round with the spokesperson with Air Miles compared the conversation I had prior to this. During the latest conversation, I was informed that Air Miles never received the communication from *** regarding the itinerary changes. I spoke to *** May 6th and the person there told me that 2 emails had gone out to Air Miles March 26th and March 28th and had shown as successful in sending. Air Miles told me that their IT people are looking into why it wasn't received, but that it doesn't impact the fact that there's no need to communicate these changes to the customer. That surprises me. Apparently, there's no policy in place where companies need to tell there customers of significant changes in their itinerary. I was told that Air Miles has 10 million customers and changes happen all the time. Air Miles prioritizes changes by telling those customers flying out same day and works towards those flying out at a later date, if they tell them at all. But again, I was never going to be told of my changes. I don't understand how *** can manage to communicate changes to all of their customers, but Air Miles cannot. *** It's also the customer service I received. I asked the person I spoke to what she thought of the previously recorded conversations. She admitted that she hadn't listened to them. When I told her that I requested a hard copy from *** of dates the email was sent to Air Miles, she requested I forward to her once I receive it. Why hadn't she listened to the recordings or why they can't request a hard copy from ***, I can't figure out. She did agree to 'pull' the one conversation I had in which the person told me it was 'An act of God' and 'People lost their lives'In the end I was offered 1500 Air Miles which is the equivalent of $135 to spend with Air Miles. Again, had I received the changes end of March, I would have had 3 weeks to figure out other flights or adjust my work to allow me to accommodate the changes. Instead I've spent over $5000 when I had originally spent $500 plus miles. Impacting a customer to this degree because there was a breakdown in communication or notification needs to be addressed. I find it unacceptable that this 'happens all the time' and that there's 'no policy' in place that requires an agency to tell their customer. I'm not accepting 1500 Air Miles. I believe more can be done to alleviate me financially. This $5000 went on my *** Air Miles credit card and now I'll also incur interest. Thanks

I purchase 3 online vouchers using my air miles for an *** car rental for our up coming trip to Maui.
Unfortunately I didn't see the that they where only valid for Canada, only noticed when I tried to use them to secured the car rental in Hawaii and was told they where no good in the USA.
I called Airmiles right away to have the vouchers reversed but was told they are non-refundable/non-exchangeable. I had only purchased them within 24hrs, surly they could have canceled the vouchers or exchanged them for something different.
It was an honest mistake, you would think a car voucher would be good for all of North America and not just Canada.

Five years ago when they decided to expire the miles in years, they also decided unilaterally that new miles should be just Dream MilesSo now, when I was planning to use the Miles in a hardware store, I discovered that I cannot do it because I have just Dream Miles and not Cash MilesThis was not fair from the beginning, but I guess it is too lateRecently, when I tried to communicate this frustration to them, I discovered that they are not too good in customer service eitherThe chat function is not working at all, nobody's answering the phone calls (just robots)With one of these robots I scheduled a call back from them in a couple of daysThey called on time but, surprise, I was put on hold and listen music for about minutesIt's not a lot, but why calling me if nobody was available yet? On top of that, when I tried to explain my problem to the lady who finally answered the call, she asked my name and hang up on meVery niceOK, maybe it was by mistake, but why she didn't called me back right away? Very disappointed in this program that I subscribed more than years agoIf I knew it at that time, maybe I was enrolling in something more useful (maybe Aeroplan Miles - I don't know anything about them maybe are the same or even worst, but there is a chance that could be better)Disappointed in this program, I will definitely look for something else***

Web page is very difficult to navigate, this cocalls itself airmiles, however very difficult to even find location to get flight infoWhen you do, generally no seats are available for rewards miles, however if you click the cash to purchase seats, they are always available for purchaseRight now, I have found some seats, however cannot book them online, have to call to book, been waiting minutes and still waiting!!!!

I purchased an item on their website using my miles on October 19th, 2018. After passing the 5 week deadline I had to contact customer support and found out the they never had the item but still took my points. I got this refunded but only after tracking it down myself and complaining.

Now I am on order number 2. Placed January 09, 2019. After three weeks I contacted customer service and they assured me the item was in stock and it would arrive within the outlined 4 week turn around. It is now 4 weeks past the initial order and I have had no update. After contacting customer service for the second time they direct me to follow up with a separate company who will not answer their phone line. The amount of time I have used trying to use my points is unacceptable.

I would like a delivery of the purchased item and and an explanation of their mishandling of my account redemption not once... but twice now.

I have an account with Airmiles- 436 University Ave, Toronto, ON M5G 2KX ***@airmiles.ca - and I participated in several promotions over the last few months. Unfortunately Airmiles did not credit my account and will not do it unless I submit receipts which Airmiles failed to mention as a condition to receive the Airmiles points. After several months, it is very difficult if not impossible to gather these receipts. Receipts were never mentioned as a sine qua none requirements of the promotion in the first place. I listed below promotions that I was able to find records or that I remembered and were never credited.
1. 1000 Airmiles plus Airmiles for 5 purchases online at ***.ca as part of the September 2018 *** promotion. I have been trying to get credited for this promotion since the middle of December 2018 without success. I was shocked, appalled and dismayed when Airmiles said they cannot find records of the 5 purchases I made on their own web site from the following merchants : *** 2. 50 Airmiles for signing up for *** email submitted around the end of September 2018 3. 2000 Airmiles for purchases made in November 2018 from 7 partners. 4. 500 Airmiles for a *** 5. 500 Airmiles for *** 6. 500 Airmiles for a *** 7. 500 Airmiles for 3 purchases with *** in early October 2018. 8. 100 Airmiles form signing to receive notifications of ***.
That's an whopping 5,150 missing Airmiles for me alone. ***. Airmiles debits my account within hours - at the most 'when I use of my points and takes months to credit my account, when it does it at all. ***. It is the case with me and as I suspect I may not be the only one in this unacceptable predicament. . Airmiles does not reply to emails, phone calls, will not put me in touch with a supervisor when asked. The president does not reply to letters and Airmiles refuses to give me the President email address. I am at a loss as to what to do now except to inform the *** about Airmiles behaviour .

No the matter is not resolved. Airmiles did not give me single missing Airmiles. The phone number they give me is useless. ***. Airmiles has done nothing to fulfill its obligation. I've been waiting for fulfillment of my Airmails Reward for nearly months Initially ordered a *** ** Blu-Ray player which was then substituted for a Sony model- without any communication to me When I followed up a month ago, I was informed the issue was with suppliers for the product I challenge any organization who offers product which they do not have a supplier *** On my last follow up it was suggested I wait a week, then I could call back and cancel Not sure why I'd cancel given I have the points, I want the items I've selected for redemption *** ***

*** After being a collector for many years I hear my Air Miles are going to expire (that are older than 5yrs) on Dec 31, This accounts for close to 90% of my Miles since I barely use the card anymore and feel I get no value out of it from most retailersI have over $1,in points that I want to redeem for an all-inclusive vacationTurns out this cannot be done onlineOk fineSo I call and get placed on a 1-hold to listen to awful music, commercials and automated voicesFinally to be advised my call would not be answered as they were closing and asked me to book a call backI scheduled the call back, the machine repeated the desired date and time (hour time slot range) that they would call backI got NO call backI called again that evening, once again had the run around with automated voices and no live agents availableI told the machine again to call back this Friday which at the time was days away! I thought I would be resourceful and use their online chat tool to either book my vacation or at LEAST schedule an appointment to talk to this magical travel specialist and she told me that even she couldn't schedule thatDid I mention I had to wait almost hours before someone from online chat answered!? I think this is a *** and I feel thankful I learned about this now and not in December or else I definitely would not be going on a trip as this is crazy and I have still yet been able to speak to someoneIf you call right now (4pm on a weekday) they tell you it is over a hour wait for a repHow is that possible? I am terrified for when I actually talk to someone if they will even have any trips available I can redeem forI have done a lot of research into what I want and have missed deals do to waiting for help*** ***

It used to be a very positive one but I can no longer book travel, hotels or car rentals with them since they announced that they are now expiring air miles I have air miles about to expire and I can't book anything They are no longer available by 1-number and must sit on long distance hold just to be told that you can't use your miles ***

Very very disappointed with the air mile collection program I have continued to collect air miles for years now , with the hopes of one day taking a really nice trip

I was able to use some of my air miles using the web site One item was shipped and arrived damaged I have now been working two months to return this item Got as far as Air Miles sending me an email saying to wait " you will receive shipping labels in 2-weeks Its been four weeks now, no labels and cant get through to anyone there I suspect I have spent hours waiting on hold My gut feeling is that they may not be in business to much longer We have been collectors for years what a waist of time

I, *** had heard from a friend that if one has air miles they had to be redeemed by Dec.31/2018. I had phoned Air Miles early in the day and there was no answer. I had gone on my computer to the air mile site and the reward Miles had been removed from my account! It stated, -3041 Air Miles.
I had phoned Air Miles again today, Jan. 2/2019 and the male representative said that I do not get my air miles back unless I pay $.15/air mile.

So, it looks to me, they had taken my air miles before Dec.31/18. I was not notified of this and my concern is, I earned those miles by purchasing items and WHY would Air Miles send out a letter to notifying we consumers and send out a cheque fir the amount of my air miles earned?

I would like my earned points of, 3041 returned to me so I can use them for future purchases! Thank you.

We have contacted the client to discuss the issue which has now been resolved.

It took me a very long time to collect air miles (at least 10 years) and when I tried to buy a *** gift card, it is saying I don't have enough points. After further investigation I found out there are 2 types of air miles - Cash Miles and Dream Miles. The problem here is only Cash Miles can be used to purchase gift card. My account default to Dream Miles which I am not even aware of there are 2 type of accounts. When I joined I don't recall there are 2 types of account. Worse still, Dream Miles cannot be converted to Cash Miles. Another problem is Dream miles are very restricted and can only purchase goods offered with very expensive air miles points. Since each air miles point is worth the same thing, it should be transferable between the two. All the advertisement I saw from *** and *** mentioning Air Miles points but there is no mention on can purchase by Cash Miles only. I just felt I have been cheated for not able to purchase the *** gift card and buy any deeply discounted goods instead of selected expensive goods. I am also a collector of *** and there is no such discrimatory option like Air Miles.

Convert my Dream Miles to Cash Miles.

Bottom line is, it cost the same to collect Cash Miles or Dream Miles. However, Dream miles is worth a fraction of Cash Miles and with limited reward choices. Almost all my miles were collected 3 years ago and was told Cash Miles was introduces 6 years ago. No wonder all my miles goes to Dream Miles since it is worth much less.

Had to make some adjustments to my flights as we have had something come up. Thought doing it two months in advance would be enough time. Turns out ill probably be on hold for the next 2 months that way things are going. Thursday was and hour and 40 minutes to was 2 hours and 25 minutes. By the time I get through the flights I was to change to will no longer be available ! Quite disappointing

I logged on at 4:20 pm and entered into the 'line' for on line help chat...at 4:20 pm I was informed that I was 6th in line and a customer service rep would be with me shortly....well it is now 8:47 pm and I am now 4th in line....unbelievable
what a waste of time....I am not going to disconnect as I can no longer sit here waiting for a customer service rep....hire more people or don't offer a service that you cannot not provide.....
