So, I closed my account on Nextdoo [redacted] todayThere has been some serious issues with Leads playing favorites, threatening members (with physical harm!) via PMs, and playing favoritesAll of this lead me to create a private group on ND so that members had a protected place to discuss issues, problems and praises related to the leads and how they manage the 'neighborhood' (which - funny enough - is EXACTLY what ND says to do in the guidelines if you do have issues with leads and moderation of the neighborhood!)No sooner had the group been created when the threats, abuse, and attacks started rolling in from a certain Lead, followed by a continuous stream of harassment from Nextdoor's so-called "support"That service is spiraling out of control - and it is no wonder that they have such a poor national reputation

I sign up on nextdoor[redacted] to post about my Avon businessThen they blocked me cause my brother-in-law is on the sex orffer list and is not a threat to no one and has three kids of his ownMy your own dam business nextdoor

Our Lead [redacted] has control over the neighborhood and deletes or removes any posts he doesn’t likeHe also I was told by another neighbor deleted our address from the neighborhood appafter he didn’t like a response I postedIt’s wrong for one person to have this much controlFix your app

Nextdoor is useful for selling old furniture, finding lost kittens, arguing about local contractors, but it draws the line at anything controversial or political in neighborhoods It's basically the [redacted] of ladies' book clubs If it didn't pretend to be something more relevant, it wouldn't matter but it sucks people into giving out their addresses, acting like an elitist and safe place and ends up being nothing at all Irrelevant

Nextdoor [redacted] has become a Facebook page - where anything goes Leads have been harrassed, insulted and even threatened Despite numerous requests to have certain members removed from the site, Nextdoor has taken no action Leads have submitted screen shots of some of the comments - which definitely are against ND guidelines This company is simply trying to increase its audience, so they can sell it And they put Leads at risk So disappointed in their lack of support for the unpaid volunteers who try to keep the site civil

NextDoor Promotes Cyber Bullying and Hate Crimes Next-door allowed my neighbors to cyber bully me online and use the site for public shamingThey allowed them to post my personal information leading to the endangerment of me and my childrenA neighbor posted complaints on the site to publically shame a person they think they saw in a car on the road doing something they did not approve of and then posted the description with license plate number of the carWithin a few days of hateful messages and public shamingAn original post was made by [redacted] , [redacted] on Nov in Crime & Safety to [redacted] She listed a description of my car and listed my license plate to make allegations of a dangerous hateful nature onlineThis is considered public shaming and against the rulesAfter she posted my license plate number online and started accusations creating a hateful conversations and public shaming about activities in a carI had peo

I am a very active member on NextdoorI have urged friends, colleagues, employers, and neighbors to join the forum, and believe that it's very important, especially in my area where crime is rampant and neighborhood watch is essentialRecently, however, after not being able to log in for a few days and escalating the issue to tech support, to no avail, I received an email (in my junk folder) from someone name [redacted] at Nextdoor who said that it had been reported that I wasn't using my real name and therefore I wasn't following their "real name" policy and they suspended my accountI wrote back and explained that I had followed their policy to the letter and that I was using my real name, and I quoted their Real Name policy"By real name, we mean the first name that you use when introducing yourself to neighbors, friends, and colleagues and your legal last name...Notable exceptions: We recognize that some people are primarily known by something other than their given first nameIt w

This review contains both bad news about NextDoor (ND) and good news, I have been a member of NextDoor for perhaps years, and am a lead in the area where I first joinedThen I started staying more and more with my mother in another city as her health declined, and when her pet disappeared, I wanted to post that on her area's ND I couldn't do so using my own email address, because ND kept sending me back to my own city 's ND account So, using the nextdoo [redacted] website, I joined again using a new email address, and a new name to go with it -- the missing pet;s nme -- to do soThat is how I found out that the paid ND administrators are not actually checking all new members to be sure that they are real people who really live at the address they give when they join, This is important to know because it is what makes members of ND vulnerable to people who can masquerade as real people and real neighbors in order to run scams Like saying some poor person they know was cheated out of a deposit on a house, so they need part time work, so will people please hire them (for tasks that would give the poor person access to the sympathetic neighbor's home and garage)And then the ND member who is posting this sad story fails to respond to legitimate questions that members ask about this story I have seen variations of this sort of post in both the areas to which I belong as a ND memberI was then told that the UNPAID LEADS are supposed to vet all new members - even ones who joined without an invitation, How are the unpaid leads supposed to vet people they don't know anything about, when they don't even have the power to demand that the new member hand over a photo ID? Plus, this recent news about vetting was the first time I heard after many years of being a lead that the LEADS are supposed to do thisSo basically, ND is fertile ground for scammer who depend n fidning trusting victimsThe good news is that this is a great place to share LOCAL info about missing and found pets, neighbors who need help, getting referrals for services you need, volunteer opportunities, local politics, tips on anything you, want and moreIt has also been great for people who share info about ongoing criminal enterprises, like the teams who steal packages that have been delivered by UPS, FedEx, etc., who follow the trucks around or troll areas looking to packages on porches If the local police set up a unit that just interfaced with all the smart, noisy neighbors with surveillance equipment on ND, they could stop a lot of such crimesBack to the bad news -- leaving it up to leads to decide if posts fit a policy is an imperfect -- but at least, at the beginning, CHEAP -- way of monitoring posts It will make for an interesting free speech lawsuit on the question of whether NextDoor is a public forum and its responsibility for what leads do

[redacted] came out to my house today they are very hard working respectable guys who I will look forward to using again and again Their phone number is [redacted] If you are looking for a Landscaper

Funny there are more negative than positive reviews I guess people who have a beef are much more likely to write then those of us who are satisfiedI have nothing but good to say about this companyIn fact, I totally rely on them for selecting trades and professional people It is a much more reliable source then [redacted] ***, [redacted] , [redacted] , or any other I've tried My life is incredibly easier since I got on this siteThere is no pressure to socialize at all nor to participate in write-ups or not People can use it however they want toI know people both on the East Coast and West Coast who say that life was quite a bit harder before this site came along That's the case for me

Requested calcellation of accounts for: [redacted] and [redacted] This company has no manned customer service telephoneFax number does not workWeb site offers no way to cancel accountSent request by email to [redacted] and [redacted] Left cancellation request at tel: [redacted] Received no response

Nextdoor has been helpful and interesting in the neighborhoodHowever - I am EXTREMELY DISMAYED TO SEE ADS IN MY MESSAGES.!!! This is not what Nextdoor is supposed to be! I was infuriated with the [redacted] Ad that signaled meMake up your minds - are you going to be truly "next door" or are you on the GREED-TRACK to make yourselves the next billionaires? I USED TO LIKE WHO YOU WEREDON'T LIKE WHERE YOU ARE GOING! Be done with [redacted] Check out how they underpay their employeesSo little that many require food stamps to feed their families Be a little discriminating if you are going to be "next-door"

NextDoor leads in Rocklin, CA enforce NextDoor’s “community guidelines” selectivelyThey allow some people to use obviously fake names or initials, such as [redacted] ” “Ke Te,” “Sa Ba, and “Re Ab.” While deleting non-personal humorous or sarcastic remarks contrary to prevailing sentiment, they allow some to make 20-comments (“ranting,” “over-posting”), inflammatory remarks and comments promoting vigilantismFor example, the following currently are posted on a thread about a homeless, mentally ill man: “Street animals like this guy rely on intimidation to exist, be the bigger scarier animal and drive him out.” “We'll just go about our business, but if he approaches us, it's pepper spray first, questions later.” “I take it paint ball guns are out of the question.” “...maybe we all need to band together and take shifts monitoring the CVS areaAn old fashion show of presence will send a powerful message.” “If any citizen acts in the absence of order being provided by our institutions I look forward to serving on a juryMy verdict - City guilty - defendant innocent.” “Maybe a large enough group of people in this community need to gather to make him very uncomfortable and tell him to get lost.” I was thrown off the site without notice for making non-personal, sarcastic responses to such comments, while people who virtually threatened me personally (“seriously” asking my address so they could bring a homeless person to my house) were allowed to remainI have no interest in re-joining this site“Best of NextDoor” groups on [redacted] and [redacted] demonstrate daily that everywhere it exists, NextDoor is a dumpster fire

I wanted to say this site was great until I realized the community leaders don’t bother with answering questions or clarifying why some people are allowed to do things that other people Are reported for, a perfect example was cleaning companies It seems like they have favoritism and some neighbors spam the site with their services while other neighbors aren’t allowed to do so We are in a Elk Grove California where some neighbors are misogynists and bash women and when it’s brought to the attention of the leads- nothing is done It’s pretty sad, [redacted] is a Much better platform

Do not sign up for NextDoorIt is not safeThey do NOT verify names and addresses per their terms of service, or else something is very wrong with the verification proceduresThis is strange, given that the #complain here is "NextDoor says they could not verify my account"! I got sucked into an HOA situation in an adjoining neighborhood by trying to be helpfulI tried to help a resident find the best Internet service for themAs it turned out, the person I was corresponding with by private message turned out to be running a fake account - and dozens more fake accountsAPPARENTLY (and I can only say apparently, because it is impossible to know what to believe on NextDoor) this person is angry at their HOA, harasses board members day and night, etcTheir main beef is that somebody was caught charging multiple Bird Scooters in their parking garage nightlyThey want this person punished! According to the HOA President (if it IS the HOA President...) whom I exchanged private messages with, the situation is resolved - the outlets were removedThe HOA may or may not try to fine the person who did itBut this troll kept coming back, posting the identical photos of Bird scooters being charged, again and again, under different fake accounts(Does anybody really believe that some parents inflicted the name " [redacted] " on their child? And that there should also just HAPPEN to be an " [redacted] ", who posts in succession to " [redacted] "s, posts? This person even faked multiple profiles of personnel from the news department of a local TV station, AND solicited individuals about "doing a story", about this or that crime that was posted (and that may or may not have actually occurred.) At one point, the faker put up a photo of ME - which they apparently found on the Internet - on one of their fake profilesNextDoor did deactivate that account and after further prompting (should NOT have required further prompting!) removed the photo of myself(NextDoor does not normally DELETE accounts - they only DEACTIVATE them...) There have been many ridiculous situations posted that test believabilityA hit-and-run accident, with accompanying photo an unoccupied car with a license plate showing(Supposedly taken by the victim's friend who was riding bicycles with her)A sob story about a cat whose owner had died, over the period of a month, an adoptee was arranged (of course, the animal should have been taken to a shelter...) and then at the last minute the cat had been given away by another neighborSuch is NextDoor today, that even cat stories have to be taken with a grain of saltCrime stories have to be viewed with suspicionThis person is able to apparently create accounts at will, using any name, including the usual sexually-suggestive ones you'd expect from Beavis and Butthead or The Simpsons( [redacted] ? [redacted] ? Nextdoor: at check against a list of the obvious ones!) Here's the scary thing: if somebody angry at his HOA can create dozens of accounts to harasses his HOA, that means that as well, criminals, "The Russians", or anybody else wanting to sow turmoil in neighborhoods can do soAnd apparently with easeDon't buy the promises of safetyDon't be tempted to give your personal information to a company that does not have the means to make good on the promises about safety that they have madeBest guess: there's probably an IPO coming upBet the signup numbers are looking GREAT!

I submitted a post regarding my services for dog-walking/sitting and said if anyone was interested to please reach out to me (like SO MANY other people posting their services for lawn care, etc)This is not my full-time job or anything major other than a profile I have set up through rover.com for people that want to find a reliable dog walker/sitterI think this was taken way out of line and made too serious of an issue for POST that I challenge DOESN'T EVEN VIOLATE THEIR RULES! I was contacted via email by John with Nextdoor stating that my post was reported for violating Nextdoor's Community Guidelines on promoting my business for offering servicesThey said I can mention my business from my personal account and respond to requests and even add my business information but they also said the reason they deleted the post was because I'm not allowed to market or promote my businessMakes a lot of sense right? Extremely poor communication and a terrible site to use for neighborhood postsDO NOT USEJust scroll through all the negative reviews if that's enough of a signI wouldn't even give them a star if I couldI will make sure all friends and family are aware of this poor experience and any site I can find to give them a review onperson tells I've worked in customer service for years and this is a very poor experience by Nextdoor

One of the leads on this website, [redacted] , sent me a pvt message & cursed me out & called me names for pointing out what I considered to be an erroneous post she made in the neighborhood forum NextDoor refuses to do anything about it A lead is supposed to be a site monitor & unbiased

Nextdoor [redacted] is a public forum predominately ran by Leads in the neighborhoodThis forum has guidlenes that are to be follwed by all who sign upIt has been noted that the leads for the community can by pass such guidlenes to favor their agendaLeads are placing defamatory, and derogatory information on the site about a neighbor that they have a personal issue withAllowing others neighbors within the community to elaborate and discuss these untruthsThe leads then have the oppurtunity to remove any post that they do not approve or like from the siteOnce you notify Nextdoor [redacted] that the lead themself aren't following the guidlenes and are posting defamatory and derogatory information about neighbors they place the blame back on the person complainingNextdoor [redacted] need a better system in place to protect neighbors from this private forum of bashing, name calling, slander, libel, and unfriendly discussion of other neighborsThe lead can report anything to try to get a neighbor o

[redacted] Especially reading the content of the negative reviews and I have not even gotten over to read the customer complaints, yet The negative reviews have frightened me enough! They are all pretty much touching on the same issues I had intended on complaining about myself regarding this company, Invasion of Privacy, Phishing, Unethical Business Practices, Deceptive Business Practices, and again, INVASION OF PRIVACY I am not even sure how this company got my email address and my information I went to their website and was reading who they are, then went almost immediately to read their Privacy Policy and I decided right away I wanted nothing to do with this company or their app I got the email address it says to email to in order to delete your account and I have sent a "Demand" email to it demanding my account and any and all information associated with it be immediately completely deleted Because it states in their Privacy Policy that they will retain a profile on you along with any information you did not delete before deleting your account THIS IS ABSURD! I told them in my email that I cannot log onto their website to see and delete information they have on me because I do not allow myself and my device to be tracked by cookies and other deceptive tracking means and I certainly do not use websites and apps that require access to my personal information on my device, i.e., contacts , apps I use, etc Now that I have read just some of these reviews I am very frightened at what information they have of mine in their website that they won't delete, very frightened because I am guessing from these reviews that it is a losing battle trying to get this company to remove a persons information and to cease and desist from invading your privacy I haven't even read the "Complaints" here on this Revdex.com site yet I am almost afraid to [redacted]

A NextDoor [redacted] user under the cover Penelope Alvarez is currently making defamatory and slanderous claimsThe claims are and completely misleadingThey are seeking to defame my characterI want them removed
