All Wood Flooring Reviews (64)

Review: All Wood Flooring at its [redacted], PA, location, was contracted to install bamboo flooring on the first floor of my townhouse.

The installer (Scott) recommended that we replace the door between the garage and the living space since the new floor

would be scratched by the old door. It did take 11 weeks for [redacted] to measure, order and install a custom door. I informed the

installer (Scott) this was the case. When the door was finally installed, the installer did not respond to repeated phone calls to finish the

one section of flooring in front of the doorway. Emailing AWF All Wood Flooring at its location in Maryland resulted in a response that

the job was closed and it would cost $600.00 to have an installer return to my townhouse to finish the installation. We did send a photo

of the unfinished section with the email to All Wood Flooring.Desired Settlement: I would like a refund for the work that was not completed. Per AWF's estimate the cost would be $600.00.

Review: All Woods Flooring is the contracted wood floor installer for [redacted] in our area of Southern Maryland. Here is a list of issues from the beginning.

1. They failed to instruct us about a moisture test that needed to be done on the product after it had been in our home for 7-10 days. They only said it should be in the home to acclimate to the environment. The day before scheduled installation, their supervisor [redacted] told us we needed to rent home dehumidifier systems to get the wood to the correct moisture. This costs us $293.00.

2. We were told by the supervisor that we had a particular installer scheduled for our job, since we had Brazilian Walnut - a harder wood to install. Someone else showed up the day of the job.

3. The installer said much of the product was manufactured wrong or had defects. We had to order 3 extra boxes of product, so the install wasn't completed until 2 weeks later. We had to box up all of the 'supposedly' defective product to take back to Lumber Liquidators in order to get credit.

4. We also took back 3 boxes of trim and 3 tubes of glue to get credit, since these we ordered extra by All Wood.

5. We had to order 2 extra air vents, since this was miss counted by the estimator. *The estimator ([redacted]) indicated that he was the project manager. However, I never heard from him after the initial measurement in the beginning, even though we had issues.

6. Installer covered over an air vent in the kitchen. I notified All Woods on April 27th once we noticed. We purchased this home new and had not noticed the vent missing. We are still awaiting it to be fixed. They have scheduled with me twice and have not shown up.

7. I had asked that they not send the original installer to fix the air vent, since this was an intentional mistake. The supervisor tried to tell me the original installer would be sent, even though we had previously discussed this and he said he was sending a 'specialist'.Desired Settlement: The final bill of $1583.88 should be adjusted by 20%. This would help us recoup the dehumidifier rental as well as the time I've had to readjust my schedule to be home and then not have anyone show up.

NOTE: Still awaiting my air vent to be uncovered. Very concerned that if they do finally show up, someone is going to mess up the flooring. They would need to order and pay for more materials if this occurs.

Review: All Wood Flooring installed cork flooring in our kitchen on or about 8/22/2013. We had

just bought the house and we were renovating the kitchen. Shortly after installation we

noticed the floor was not firm underfoot but felt "squishy." Several months after

installation we found the cork boards were separating and the feeling under foot was

even softer. In early March, 2014 we called All Wood and asked for someone to come

inspect the floor. A representative of the company came out on 3/28/2014 and looked

at the floor. He suggested that the flooring had been damaged because of a water leak,

but we had no water leak. He also suggested that the cabinets should not have been

installed over the cork flooring, that the flooring should have stopped at the cabinets,

because the cork expands and contracts. If fact we had discussed this with the All Wood

employee who measured the kitchen for installation and he said we could put the

cabinets on top of the floor or install the cabinets first and have the floor extend up to

the cabinets. He never suggested it would be a problem to install cabinets on top of the

cork. The measurements clearly were from wall-to-wall. He then reported back to the

company. We never received a copy of his report. I contacted the company and they

said that because we had a difference of opinion regarding how to proceed we (the

customers) should pay for a third party independent inspection. The implication was

that we both agreed to abide by the conclusions of a neutral, third party inspector. We

were referred to the National Wood Flooring Association (NWFA) and I chose an

inspector, [redacted], from the list of approved inspectors. [redacted] came to our

house, inspected the floor, and charged us $500 to produce a one page report, which

concluded that the subfloor was not level and, according to the cork flooring installation

directions, the floor should not have been installed on the un-level subfloor. We

forwarded the report to All Wood. After reviewing the report we were told it was too

short. It should have been 4-5 pages. We asked [redacted] to revised the report to

meet the needs of All Wood Flooring. After several weeks of back and forth with All

Wood and [redacted], I contacted the NWFA. They reviewed the report and made

some suggestions. [redacted] consulted with the NWFA and revised the report for a

last time. I forwarded this final report, which met all NWFA guidelines, to All Wood.

They essentially rejected the conclusion of the report, made their own assertions about

the cause of the floor problems and denied any responsibility. Nevertheless the agreed

to take up the flooring and replace it if we wanted to have someone level the floor in

the mean time. We asked them to be responsible for (pay for) removing and replacing

the appliances (dish washer, refrigerator, freezer, washer and dryer) and asked them

to replace (at not cost to us) any flooring that was damaged in the removal process and

could not be used again. We also asked them to cover the $500 inspection fee. They

refused. We told them we were going to file a complaint.Desired Settlement: All Wood Flooring LLC, should pay for any removal and replacement of appliances, replacement of any flooring that is damage during removal and not fit for reuse, refund the $500 inspection fee for the third party inspection that found them at fault.

Review: We used All Wood Flooring to install our floors as [redacted] said this was their preferred installer. The job was to take 2 days. It has now been three weeks and the job is still not complete. The work that has been done is unsatisfactory. A regional manager for All Wood Flooring came to the house and took pictures of the sub par work and agreed that it was not done correctly. He stated he would return and finish the job himself as well as correct the issues. We have not heard back from him and he has not returned phone calls.Desired Settlement: As this work is not satisfactory and we have given All Wood Flooring the chance to fix their mistakes, at this point we would like a refund on their installation so that we may have the work re-done properly.
