We are sorry that the customer feels like we are not providing good customer service. We are more than willing to help with a payment arrangement to help him . The customer acknowledges he should have read the sales reps emails better. Her information to him was clear. This is a 12 month binding agreement. I pasted it below for your review. He also provided her with the proof that was requested and signed up with auto pay. This is  not usually something a person would provide to us if they are not sure of what they are getting into.

I am rejecting this response because:I do not own the business only work here. Why would I sign a year agreement. The owner is keeping me informed and when it happens I will be without a job.ALLDATA is using sales pitches with that were not discussed or totally understood.I asked for a recording of the sale they do not have one.I asked for Eddie Luke to speak could not find.A year agreement was not discussed a month to month was.Look at my time I have been logged on.I paid for 2 months I did not use.

Hello – Our billing department was finally able to reach this customer yesterday and resolve the situation. We are now getting in-house approvals on our response. I am hopeful that I can post our response tomorrow (our 10th day) but it might stretch until Monday. Just wanted to be proactive and let you know that a response is forthcoming! Thank you, [redacted]

Contract canceled per customer request.

Have attempted to contact the customer with no luck. I left 2 voicemails on the phone number provided. Refunds for purchases through our DIY website generally takes 7-10 business days to process from the date of submission.

Company states: This consumer signed up for a 1 year contract. A few months after the fact he claims that he did not sign up under his business. Regardless of that, he entered into an agreement and also used the product. We even provided an example of the agreement and link that he agreed to. He could have easily denied it and the sales rep. would have clarified. We have included his contract agreement.

Review: I was in the process of opening a small auto electric shop in Florida and needed the services of a company that would provide me access to auto repair manuals. I did research and found ALLDATA via their website as one of the companies offering the services needed. I sent an inquiry via their website and soon they sent their local sales rep, Mr. [redacted] to my shop. [redacted] upon arrival was advised what I needed and that I am keeping my options open and that I would contact other companies before I make my final decision. He asked to access my laptop and showed me the Alldata website and their services. He created a login and password and left. I was not provided anything in writing about any commitment, I did not sign any paperwork nor provided any credit card or payment information to Mr. [redacted]. Several days later Mr. [redacted] informed me that although I did not want to retain Alldata services, I am responsible to pay a 1 year service contract for Alldata based on a "oral agreement" for $150.00 a month. I asked to speak to management and was soon contacted by [redacted] of the HQ in Elk Grove, CA who in our first conversation told me that based on what their sales rep [redacted] stated, I had an "oral agreement" and that I am "on the hook" for a one year service plan. A day later Mr. [redacted] called again and changed his story by stating that because I accessed their website and asked for information and a rep came out, it created an automatic service agreement for a year. Nothing obvious in my request for information informed me of it, otherwise the ALLDATA rep would have never made it through my front door. Their advertisement and sales tactics are deceptive and predatory. They are a subsidiary of AUTOZONE and needless to say I will never retain ALLDATA for their services and fight any attempt for them to effectuate their "contract" nor will I get any parts from AUTOZONE, the casualty of their child's bad behavior.Desired Settlement: Written confirmation that their imaginary contract is void and no contact by Alldata for sales or promotional purposes. In addition, they should update their website appropriately, so other potential customers do not fall into the same trap.

Response:

There is nothing to really report on this.

Customer signed up with ALLDATA on 01/13/14 and attached is his web order.

01/14/14 The customer informed the AM that they didn’t sign up. The FSR and FSM were involved

01/15/14 We received confirmation from FSM [redacted]. to hold the customer to the 12month contract

There is an IP addressed “signature” therefore the customer is in a 12month commitment.

Hope that helps.

I have been an Alldata subscriber for 12 years. Due to changes in my business structure, I decided to cancel my subscription with them. When I called them to cancel, they told me their policy was a 30 day notice and that someone would contact me after 30 days. Someone did call me after 30 days and I repeated to them that I wanted to cance. "No can do" was the reply because I supposedly signed a contract that was had 6 more months on it. I explained to them that I had been with them over 10 years and they told me they would see what they could do and they would call me back. Long story short they called me back after 1 1/2 weeks and said they would not allow me to cancel and I was stuck in my contract for another 5 months. I would never use this company again. Their data is imcomplete, hard to use and a waste of money.

Review: A sales representative contacted me about Alldata when I opened up my mechanics shop again. He told me that I would be able to get all the wiring schematics that I need to work on the foren cars that I work on regularly. I have a car that I work on regularly and a can not get the wiring schematics that I need for it through Alldata. I have sent them an email asking for the information and they have not provided me with it. I can get the information through [redacted](Alldata's competition). I have contacted them about canceling my contract, because that do not have the information that I need. They will not allow me to cancel my contract and will not provide me with the information that I need. I can physically prove(via printed wiring schematics) that all data is not providing me with the information that I need. Thus not fulfilling their side on the contract. I would like to cancel my subscription with them and switch to another supplier. I have called and asked them to do this twice and they will not comply.Desired Settlement: I have asked for this to be resolve by cancelling my subscription three months ago. I have paid them for one of those months to try and get in good relations with them. I do not require a refund, if they will just cancel my subscription and remove the remaining two months, that I have not been using their insufficient product. Thank you

Business

Response:

Here are our the findings.

On 4-11-14 there was a call made to the customer to welcome him

to AD. Everything went well on that call. He was advised of the 12 month terms

at that time with no issue.

On 5-14-14 there was a call made to follow up with the customer

and they were having some navigation issues but we resolved this by switching

them to a different information system. The terms of the contract were verified

again before that call ended and he was fine at that time. He said he would

call if there were any issues.

On 7-17-14 we called and spoke to the customer to check in

(three months after he signed up). He was not able to access the program

from the 5-14-14 call and we advised we were sorry but we had not heard from

him so we got this issue fixed since it was a trial program that had ended.

On 7-23-14 we got an email from the customer he prefers the

second program we set him up on so we switched him to that permanently.

On 9-24-14 we got a call from [redacted] that he wants to cancel

because his friends [redacted] program has more information. We did advise him

that we do not cancel accounts in the first year.

We have many ways to assist our customer if they can’t locate

the information in the system. They can speak to our Library assistance team

and also speak with our Hotline Diagnostic Team but we do not cancel accounts

in the first year because they changed their mind and want another service.

Please let me know if anything else is needed.

Response:

I am rejecting this response because: I can prove that Alldata's electrical information is incomplete. Honestly, I do not have the time right now. I have a baby on the way:) If I need to physically prove this I will, but I would advice Alldata from the embarrassment. Alldata told me that I would have all the electrical information that I need. If they can show me a complete schematic, including the boost gauge on a [redacted](which I can get from [redacted]), I will drop everything. As far as I am concerned Alldata can not deliver what they promise. Until they supply me with the information that they promised I would have, or cancel my contract, things will not be resolved, and I will continue to warn people away from them. If I email Alldata information request department for wiring schematics for a [redacted], they will send me links that I have all ready been too. The information is not there. I can go on the internet or to [redacted] and get the information. This violates their part of the contract, saying that they could provide me with all the automotive information that I need. I need all of it. Thank you

Review: I have canceled service with all data on May 1, 2015. I contacted my sales agent and explained my reason for doing so. I returned all that was requested by US Mail. And not under contract. As for billing there was a discount that was not applied to my account. I contacted all data asking for a detailed billing statement for all months in 2015 never received one. All data appliedthe discount over phone I was promised but here is the issue. All data continued to bill me for service after cancelation!!! I have contacted repeatedly in phone messages and e-mail. In phone contact I was told that someone would contact me. still no contact can you help? Thank you, Mr. [redacted]Desired Settlement: To get True balance billing statement as of May 30 2015. And no interest, fee or penalty .

Response:

Hi [redacted],I apologize for any confusion. We indicate that you expressed interest to cancel your account in May/June, and we require the subscription key to be returned in order to process the cancelation. We received the key in September. We are going to credit your account, in full, dating back to May and provide ledger records indicating us doing so. I understand that our finance team has contacted you, and resolution is on its way. Once again I apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate your business. If you have any questions or need to discuss further, feel free to reach out to me directly.Thanks.[redacted] / Marketing Director / [redacted]

Review: Back in March of 2014 I called ALLDATA and told them that my business would be closing ([redacted]) and asked what I needed to do in order to cancel my account. I was told to mail back the ALLDATA software keys and pay the balance of $528.28. I mailed back the keys with a check in the amount of $528.28 on 3/27/14 (check # 7867) via USPS Express Mail with insurance and return receipt requested. USPS shows that my package was received on 3/28/15 at 12:11pm by [redacted].On 4/28/2014 I received a call from [redacted] in the collections department stating that they never received payment. [redacted] did confirm that they did receive the keys. I asked [redacted] if he could make a call to the person who received my package and check to make sure my check hadn't been overlooked or misplaced. [redacted] informed me that was impossible to do unless I had a copy of the canceled check. I checked my bank account and the check has not been cashed. I then asked [redacted] to reimburse the $34.00 seeing how they lost it and [redacted] said that he couldn't do that and his supervisor even told him that wasn't an option either. All I want is to be reimbursed for the canceled check fee my bank charges me seeing how this isn't my fault. The keys and check where placed inside a small envelop which is then placed inside the special USPS express mail envelop. This makes it very unlikely that my check fell out of the envelops but not the keys. So I'm willing to pay the following: $528.28 minus the $34.00 canceled check fee for a total of $494.28. Thanks,[redacted]Manager of [redacted]Desired Settlement: I'm willing to pay the following: $528.28 minus the $34.00 canceled check fee for a total of $494.28.

Review: Before signing a contract with this company, I was told I had a 30 day trial period to test the products and services offered by this company. I called before the 30 day trial period was up, informing the company that my technicians did not like the product and to cancel our contract. Our company has been billed every month since then, and every time I call, I get different answers from each person. I have been told that I will receive calls back and have not received any help. This has been going on for months.Desired Settlement: I am requesting a refund for the total of $1,420 since October 2015.

Business

Response:

This complaint was resolved offline with ALLDATA’s Account Executive team. The requested amount $1,420 was refunded in May 12, 2015.

Review: Used this company back in 2012. Called three times canceling service kept making excuses why they hadnt cancelled account. Kept charging on CC. Contacted bank finally they put a block on our account so they couldnt charge anymore. They are now sending me a bill in May 2014 requesting over due charges that DON'T EXIST Blaming new system...Desired Settlement: We do not have a balance of any amount. Requesting no more correspondance and bill be voided as [redacted] has not had any kind of service with this company in over two years and were paid to date used.

Business

Response:

Good Morning,

Per our records, here is the documented conversations with them.

The customer had a 30 day cancellation notice that started on

12/4/2012 per a call with [redacted].

Review: We are not happy with a computer program provided on line and they will not let us out of the program, we were suppose to be in a trail run.

on 9-19-13 we received an email giving us our complimentary log in info- and the sales rep also made us up hurry up and print off and returned the signed contract so we could get locked into a better price. I called Alldata on 9-27 & 9-30 telling them we did not like the program and were not interested in it at all, wanted out of the program and they told us there is nothing they can do. So there are no more trial periods or grace periods for us to change our minds after we try it out? We were told by the sales rep that we had until 10-6-13 and the company keeps denying our right to cancell. We have made phone calls to the company and they keep telling us no. We are not using this program because we don't like it or have extra time to figure it out. The company keeps sending us bills for services we are not using. All we want is for ALLDATA to stop sending us bill for services we are not using. We just want our account closed with this company ASAP- we are not renting any equipment from them. Not sure what else to do at this point. Desired Settlement: All we want is for is to end our subscription with ALLDATA- that is all. And be free and clear of owing any money since we have not used the program.

Business

Response:

Initial Business Response

Good Afternoon, one of our Account Managers spoke with [redacted] states she has a big problem with how she felt pressured into signing up for the program. They asked her if she saw that it was a 12 month agreement on the email sent to her from the rep and she told then no. She says she is too busy to read everything that was being thrown at her. She said if she had known it was a 12 month contract she would have never signed for the program.

She said she really does not like the way the rep pushed her into buying the ALLDATA. She says they don't like it and won't use it and they have been telling us that from the beginning. She used several choice words during our conversation. She says they have no intention of paying for the program.

The account manager thanked her for speaking with me and she hung up on me.

Final Consumer Response

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)

yes we were totally pressured into signing up for the program - the sales person told us to hurry up and sign it and fax it right back to her so she could get us started on the trail, we called back a couple days latter and told AllData the program did not work with our device we have. Yes I used choice words no one will help us and do anything about the issue. All we want is to get out of the program. As they state I have been telling them that from the beginning and they wont do anything. I also faxed a letter to the company telling them how we wanted out and was pressured by the sales person and the fax went directly to the sales person instead of the company in turn was also a very frustrating issue. All we want is out of the program we are not using. This is just another company that seems to take advantage of businesses. We are very frustrated and do not know what to do at this point. It is a struggle to keep a business going cost wise in this country already and to add another payment for something you are not using does not help. I am not asking for money from this company I am just asking them to End our Contract.

Final Business Response

We responded to this initial compliant last week. We spoke to [redacted] and were unable to come up with a resolution. She has signed a contract and received an email outlining the commitment she agreed to. I am sorry she is not satisfied, but we made this very clear to her during the initial set up of her account.

Review: We cancelled in the fall of 2014 and I keep getting random statements every once in awhile with a previous balance and new charges listed even though I've called them close to a dozen times. At first they'd say it was glitches in their software system that sent a statement showing charges on a printout even though it shows zero on their system, and promised me I would not get another statement, once I even had them email me confirmation saying it was a zero balance and the glitch would be fixed. But over and over again I would get another statement still showing a large balance. I just called after my latest statement and customer service insisted he put through another request for it to be fixed and guaranteed me no more statements would come. I will update this complaint if I do get another statement.Desired Settlement: I want to be notified in writing that all accounts connected to our tax id [redacted] are cancelled and show a zero account. The one I get in the mail lists account #[redacted] with $1522.18 balance.

Business

Response:

We apologize for the software glitches, the entire balance showing $1,522.18 will be adjusted. Once this is complete, you will receive a letter confirming the account balance is $0.

Review: I have been trying to cancel my ALLDATA subscription for the past week, I have called at least two times a day during business hours, tried to contact any department of the company I could, no answer, no help, I own a business, like the majority of their cliental it is hard to waste that much time. I have spent 6.5 hours this week trying to cancel this service I don't want anymore, I am tired of dealing with the shady sales people and horrible service I want to terminate my service. I am greatly unsatisfied by the horrendous approach they take to customer service, I have been on hold for at least a hour every day and still no one answers, I have tried all four of the numbers listed on the website. Is this how they generate business? hook people in with a price and don't let them cancel? Their business practices are a text book definition of a scam.Desired Settlement: let me cancel my subscription as I am entitled to.

Business

Response:

[redacted], Account Manager spoke to them. Here are the notes from that conversation.

I had [redacted] the Account Manager call the customer and here is the response from [redacted] on this one.

I called and talked to [redacted] and confirmed that he wants to cancel because they are moving their business away from repairs and into body work. I explained that I show that they signed up 9/20/13 for $99 for 3 months and then $145 a month for the remaining 9 .This is a 12 month obligation and I can set the account to non-renew but there is no early termination. I e-mailed sales rep [redacted] as an FYI
