I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below
AAU is only referencing emails but not phone conversationsI would like to request that phone conversations be reviewedIn these conversations you will hear how AAU associates misled me by making commentsAlthough AAU is trying to relieve themselves of any responsibility by referencing loan and financial aid documentation, AAU is still liable for statements their representatives make.

Hello Revdex.com,
The student is correct in that she is working with an
accredited school that provides an excellent education while only holding
students accountable for what they have agreed to. Also, it is true that we have a “Pass or Don’t
Pay” (PDP) policy, but the student’s interpretation of it does not correspond
to the facts Please review our online
PDP policy:
http://www.pharmacytrainingonline.com/pass-or-dontpay.asp
As you will be able to determine from the language, our PDP
policy is directly and proportionally related to the PTCB exam. For example, one of the conditions of that
policy is that the student must have passed Allied’s course(s). Since the student has not passed the appropriate
course(s), the PDP policy does not apply in this case
The completed refund calculation that was explained to the
student proves that she has a balance due to Allied, which is also in
accordance with her signed enrollment agreement
Lastly, this student was given sufficient information prior
to enrolling. While Allied Business Schools does appreciate this inquiry,
as it is possible that misunderstandings can arise, there is no justifiable
reason to provide a refund to this student.
Based on these facts, Allied considers this compliant
settled, as we are still willing to work with the student on a payment plan to
help her re-activate her course(s) and continue on with her education
Sincerely,
Allied Business Schools

Dear Revdex.com, It appears that the crux of Mr***’s compliant is in regards to his student loanMr*** contacted Allied American University (AAU) on 7/26/because he received a notice from his student loan servicer notifying him that his student loans would be going into repayment status
During this conversation with the AAU Financial Aid Advisor, Mr*** questioned why he owed students loans as he said he informed his admission representative that he did not want student loans for his first semesterIt was explained to Mr*** that he was awarded student loans for his only semester at AAU and a copy of his ledger was sent to himThe ledger shows that his Pell Grant and student loans were used to cover the cost of tuition, books, and fees, and that he was refunded the credit balance of $2, On 7/27/16, Mr*** again contacted the AAU Financial Aid Advisor stating he had received an email from the advisor in February advising that the stipend check did not have to be paid backAfter investigating, it appears that Mr*** sent an email asking if payments were due to Allied American University from the stipend checkIt was confirmed that his balance to AAU was paid in full and that no payment was due to the UniversityThere is no mention that he would not need to pay his loan back to the lender There is also additional correspondence in his student file where Mr*** asks for clarification regarding a disclosure statement he received in the mailThe AAU Financial Advisor explained that this statement shows that student loans were being disbursed to the UniversityMr*** thanked the advisor for the clarificationThis shows an acknowledgement that Mr*** was aware that student loan finds were being disbursed for his first semester.? Lastly, Mr*** completed Entrance Counseling and signed a Master Promissory Note which specifically address that he would be receiving student loansThese documents clearly outline the rights and responsibilities of the borrower Based on the above information as well as additional correspondence in his student file, it is clear that Mr*** was aware that we was applying for and received a student loanBased on this information, Mr*** is not eligible for a refund Sincerely, Allied American University Tell us why here

I have proof in emails from Allied that show that even they have problems with their software productsI asked when I purchased the course what operating system I can useThey sent me a letter stating only XP and weren't supportedHowever, this is not user error or an operating issue- they sold me a product that won't interface with their i-boardIt wasn't until I progressed through the course and after their expiration date that this was discovered on my partThey have admitted repeatedly to me in writing that they are aware of issues on their endThey have sent me emails stating that they are aware of problemsI am sick that they have swindled $1,from me

Dear Revdex.com,
As previously mentioned Ms. [redacted] is outside of the terms disclosed on the enrollment agreement she acknowledged and signed on 12/01/2014. This contract clearly states that students are ineligible for a refund if more than one year has passed from the original enrollment date. Ms. [redacted]’s eligibility for a refund expired on 12/01/15.   Throughout her enrollment, we have tried our best to accommodate Ms. [redacted], including renegotiating payment terms, deferring payments, and supplying an additional three month extension as well as supplying her with a new course at no charge. Despite of our efforts and Ms. [redacted]’s unwillingness to accept accountability, we are disappointed that we were unable to reach an accord with her.  As a show of good faith, we would like to offer a refund for the courses that she has not completed, less our cost of the complimentary course that was sent in April.                                     ...
Allied wishes Ms. [redacted] good luck in her future endeavors. Thank you, Allied Business Schools, Inc.

They are not providing any assistance to help me re enroll. I might possibly reconsider if I was given option to switch to another course. Not their scam of a pharmacy course. It was a joke. Also, they do not go over with you before signing anything that you do not receive refund. That is a lie all in itself. This school is horrible.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution would be satisfactory to me.  I will wait for the business to perform this action and, if it does, will consider this complaint resolved. However, for the record, hey did not give me a complimentary course in April. They had bad software for the EHR course that was faulty (I have proof in writing from allied and the vendor) and was required to Retake it! They have still not acknowledge that they have sold me a program that is bad and to hold me to an expiration date that is not applicable is wrong. If I had been able to advance in there linear courses I would have gladly have asked for a refund. Let's how little they give back of my hard earned cash.

Business Bureau:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
They did send me a form of calculations, upon enrolling I checked this school out to make sure it wasn't a school that would hold you liable for cost that you don't accrue. Specifically, their biggest highlight is, if you don't pass, you don't pay. Okay, I unenrolled. Meaning, I no longer owed anything and they are supposed to refund me what I paid, minus a 20% deduction, because I did not complete the course. They are trying to scam me out of my money by saying I owe $383.63 to finish out the course. I DID NOT complete the course, therefore I do not owe that. They have false advertising and are trying to rip people off of their money. Their policy DOES NOT state anything of this nature.
I wil sue Allied if they do not handle the matter appropriately and do it correctly as per their advertisement. Not the scam they are pulling on me and many other students.

Dear Mr. [redacted],Allied Schools experienced an unexpected power outage yesterday. There

Dear Revdex.com,Allied Schools has reviewed Ms. [redacted]’s complaint. Unfortunately, we are unable to accommodate her request for a refund as she is outside the terms of her enrollment agreement. Ms. [redacted] enrolled with Allied on 12/01/2014, and as disclosed on her signed enrollment agreement, her rights...

to a refund expired one year from date of enrollment. Ms. [redacted]’s eligibility for a refund expired on 12/01/15. In regards to the software issues Ms. [redacted] expressed in her complaint, when she enrolled in her coursework she was using an operating system that was compatible with the course software. At some point in time she accepted an irreversible computer update that upgraded her operating system to Windows 10. The software issues that she experienced with the Electronic Health Records course occurred after she accepted this update.  Ms. [redacted] also complained of issues with her Medical Terminology course, however, the majority of complaints have been due to user-error and not software issues.Allied Schools has done its best to accommodate Ms. [redacted] throughout her enrollment.  She was provided, at no cost, a new version of the Electronic Health Records course that is compatible with the Microsoft upgrade. In addition to providing solutions for her coursework, Allied has also provided two course extensions at no cost, and made special accommodations regarding her account.  If Ms. [redacted] requires any assistance as she continues to progress through her coursework, she may contact our Instructional Support department for help.We wish Ms. [redacted] the best of luck in her studies. Sincerely,Allied Schools

Dear Revdex.com,After an extensive review of the complainants record, we have determined the following: When he enrolled in Allied Business Schools medical coding program the cost was $2498.00 and upon his enrollment, he was provided a $388.00 discount. Therefore, the total amount of his...

tuition was $2110.00.  The Allied Business Schools refund policy was available for your review in his signed enrollment agreement (contract signed 10/30/2015) and in the school catalog.  As stated in the enrollment agreement, the refund policy does not allow for full refunds after the first five (5) business days of signing your enrollment agreement and after you have completed coursework. After the fifth business day from enrollment, but before the enrollment termination date (10/30/2016), if students wish to cancel before any assignments are submitted, a non-refundable 20% portion ($200) of the course cost and shipping and handling costs are deducted. Since he completed two of the three courses in their entirety and completed several assignments in the third course in his program and is well past his enrollment termination date, he is not eligible to receive a full refund.   However, since his personal circumstances are strained, we are willing to stop the automatic debit from his account and provide him with a partial refund. We are offering to waive the $200 non-refundable 20% portion of the course, as well as the materials/shipping fees. His total estimated refund is $221.13. Sincerely,Allied Schools
