The Customer complains of the price charged by Alpha during the month January 2014, contending that it is higher than the rate charged previously for commodity service
Alpha has complied with its obligations to the CustomerThe Customer agreed to enroll with Alpha for monthly variable rate serviceUnder this type of service, the customer's price each month is modified to reflect the current market costs associated with electricity and gas commodity serviceThus, the price charged by Alpha for electricity and gas used in January reflects the actual market costs experienced in JanuaryOrder Granting Request For Waiver (Issued January **, 2014) during the month of January have increased significantly due to a variety of market factors over which Alpha has no controlIn the Hudson Valley Region the NYISO has reported that electricity in the real time market was selling in the range of $to in excess of per MWAlso, natural gas prices have also significantly increased in recent monthsThus the prices charged by Alpha are consistent with the January market conditions and costs.
In addition, when an account is canceled with alpha it takes *** between and billing cycles to process the switch over

In response to complaint number ***, Alpha contacted ** *** upon receipt of this complaint.
In communicating with the customer, the issue was due to the $to which up until this point, ** *** had declined.
** *** has now accepted the good faith offer of $now appreciates the offer.

In response to complaint number ***, Alpha opened an internal investigation prior to this complaint.
After reviewing Alpha records, it was determined that ** *** *** authorized the switch to Alpha on 4/*/13.
On 4/*/Alpha contacted the customer to give them the
details of the sale i.edate and time.
The customer requested to be terminated, which Alpha did.
The service has already returned to the utility for both commodities as of 4/**/14.

In response to complaint number ***, Alpha opened an internal investigation into this matter
Per customer request, Alpha terminated the account and service returned to the utility on 4/**/for electric and 3/**/for gas
In communicating with the customer after receipt of the
complaint on 3/**/14, Alpha offered the customer a good faith amount of $100, which she declined.
Given the increase in the market costs of energy, Alpha feels as if this amount is more than fair enough.
The good faith offer is still available should ** *** decide to take it

Business called our household back stating that we would get a refund if we signed an agreement to have them provide services again. We do not feel that this is a company that we would like to do business with. The company would not disclose the amount until we signed an agreement

When they call me back in January I told the woman not to transfer my service when I found out they switch my service it was in April when they apply on my *** billWhen I did contact them in April ** they told me I had to go to *** to switch so that was information on there partShe call me on a refund not a uiltily switch would like for them to supply the recording you will here me saying multiple time don't switch my serviceThank you!

 Outtrageous. They reached out  - laughable. They have not resolved a single thing. To them that seems to mean they will not do anything. Of course I am looking to have my bill reduced to a reasonable amount. Their overcharge of over 300% is an outrage. They keep saying it's resolved. Maybe they should pull their heads out of the sand and make a real reasonable attempt to resolve this. Perhaps a class action suit involving all their customers will make them see reality here.

In response to complaint number [redacted], Alpha opened an internal investigation into this matter upon receipt of the complaint on 4/**/14.
After reviewing our records, it was determined that [redacted] authorized the switch to Alpha on 12/**/2012.
The customer has been with Alpha since 2**/13 and agreed to a variable rate. Under this type of service, the rates are subject to change month to month.
The pricing portrayed by Alpha reflect the current market cost of energy.
We appreciate your involvement in this matter.

In response to complaint number [redacted], Alpha customer service contacted the customer upon receipt of this complaint.
In communicating with the customer, [redacted]'s concern was due to high rates.
Alpha explained to the customer the rate increase was due to market factors in which Alpha does not control.
The pricing portrayed by Alpha reflects the current market costs associated with the commodity service.
Per customer request, Alpha has terminated the account and the service will return to the utility on 4/**/2014.
In good faith, Alpha is sending the customer $25 for her troubles.
We thank you for your cooperation in this matter, and we have brought closure to [redacted].

At this time, I have been contacted directly by Alpha Gas and Electric, LLC regarding complaint ID [redacted], however my complaint has NOT been resolved because:
[After going back and forth over many days with no resolution, they called and asked me what it would take to resolve this...how much money. I told them I was looking more fore an act of good faith than a large settlment, so I didn't know ... maybe $50. They offered $75. I said OK. They asked me to notify the Attorney General (who I also copied on the original letter sent to them that you were copied on) and I said that after I got the check, I would do that. That was March **or **, just a few days ago. I haven't received the check yet, but I have no reason to think they won't follow through.

In response to complaint number [redacted], Alpha opened an internal investigation into this matter.
After reviewing our records, it was determined that the sales representative did represent Alpha Gas & Electric and the customer authorized the switch.
The customer agreed to a variable rate service and under this type of service the pricing portrayed by Alpha reflects the current market costs associated with the commodity service.
Alpha Gas & Electric would like to bring this to closure, we are open to suggestions and we thank you for your involvement in this matter.

In response to complaint number [redacted], Alpha looked into the customer’s concern upon receipt of this complaint. 
After reviewing our records, it was determined that [redacted] did call Alpha Gas & Electric to cancel the services on 4/*/2014.
Once Alpha send a request...

to cancel to the utility, it is then up to the utility to take the customer back. 
The utility usually chooses the date according to the upcoming meter reading dates. The date that the customer returns to the utility is out of Alpha’s control. 
[redacted] has not been a customer of Alpha’s since 5/*/2014.

 I have filed a complaint with your offices and is now closed- the claim # is [redacted] . My initial complaint against Alpha Gas & Electric , LLC was that they were charging 2-3 times more for electricity and gas monthly compared to [redacted] rates who I thought my gas and electric was being supplied from. Alpha Gas and Supply contacted me after they received the complaint from your offices. They told me that they could not cancel my contract with them until the end of the billing cycle knowing that they were charging me 2-3 x more each month since March 2014. They could not even supply my authorization for them to even be the gas and electric supplier for my home. With speaking to a [redacted] in customer service I was told that they would refund me 473.59. which I have not received to date and this was over 1 month ago. I was also told by [redacted] yesterday that I am still being charged an outrageous rate for both gas and electric. I was just granted assistance with [redacted] and I know that Alpha Gas and Electric is robbing me of hard earned money by overcharging and continuing to overcharge me because the billing cycle is not over!! This is unacceptable. I deserve to be refunded me the entire amount of over rages paid since March 2014.
