This company started out on a good note and failed miserably at every turn there afterIf I wasn't on site to catch their multiple mistakes, I would have been even more upsetThey didn't order the right material, they tried to install a stack of scratched fence panels as if I wouldn't notice, and they also ordered some of the wrong style of fence as well
No line of communication with the office whatsoever and no return phone calls left me with frustration and without a gate for over a monthI'm still finding blue spacers buried in the grass btw
Then, they finally charged my credit WITHOUT my approval
If you order something wrong, just keep my updatedATTEMPT to rectify it somehowTRY and make me feel like you carePRETEND to show some empathy for your own mistakesAll the owner did when I finally talked to him was say he'll talk to his people but he doesn't believe in discountsYet he bragged his company has grown alot this year and he's understaffed!
If you use this company, you will be sorry if you ever have an issue because other than collecting thier money, they just don't care

I have already discussed this with Mr***Parts have been ordered and we will arrange to be out there as soon as they arrive

Not an outfit that I will ever do business with again!
And the owner, well rather than welcoming constructive input from a past client he answered my call in a confrontational manner and was more interested in why I (the customer) was giving his people a hard timeWell, let me tell you why - as you hung up on me MrOwner, because they not only do not listen to what is being asked of them they do not forward the actual purpose of my calls to you
America's Backyard Fencing and Decking is not the only game in town
One question for Revdex.com; How does this company and it's history give it an A+ Rating?

I had them put my fence up in called and asked to come back out, due to some of the fence posts were lifting out of the ground Was told it was to far to come for that kind of work and was very rude to me on the phone Now it is and more are doing the same So by the time we get this all done, we will have redone all the posts, that they put in!!!! The company talks good and makes you believe what they say So sorry we ever went with them This has cost us alot of money!!!! Workman ship is poor!!!

We have given the matter due diligence and followed up with our crew members regarding the items the customer complained aboutThey have stated the damage she is accusing them of causing was not caused by themAs they have no reason to be
dishonest with us since we do not dock them if they accidently damage something while working, we believe their statement to be trueThis is not something that applies to the work we completed for the customer and should not be viewed as such

While I understand that they believe their employees have no reason to be dishonest because they aren't "penalized" for any accidental damage that is caused, that does not mean they are always honestI suspect that because I had to insist that they get the job done in the one day I had been promised, that this may have resulted in some crews being assigned to the job who had not planned on working the additional timeI think that the damage may have occurred because they were in a hurry to complete the jobI would think that if whoever used that spigot discovered that it was broken, they would have informed me of it so I was aware of the damage and they would want me to know they weren't the cause of itBut since I did not receive any such report, I still stand my stance that someone from that crew broke the spigotI am sure it was an accident but perhaps whoever did it just did not follow their protocol of reporting it and as more time went by, it became more difficult to report itI didn't even discover it until just over a week after the job was complete and by the time I received a response from the office notifying them of the damage, it was weeks after the jobBy the time I heard back from the office, almost a month had gone bySo, I believe that whoever broke it forgot to report it and now that this complaint has been filed, it makes it more difficult for they and the company to take responsibility for the damage

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
We contacted Americas Backyard immediately after the installation with our concerns about the material used and the workmanshipIt was approximately three weeks before ***, the owner came out to look at the fenceHe came without us being homeI contacted him the following day and he said that nothing was wrong with the fence and that he would not discount it or provide a warrantyI sent a letter at that point as I feel that we should be able to resolve this matter*** was belligerent in our telephone conversationWe never received a reply to the letter and contacted our salesman, ***He said they were willing to pull out the fence and replace itWhy would they pull it out and replace it if nothing is wrong with itThis all started when they installed the wrong size posts
They put in six foot posts and then tried to make them work on a five foot fenceWe paid $in landscaping under the fence that they would not redoAfter talking to *** I do not believe they would replace it after pulling it outAs far as a discount I would rather have what I paid forI do not trust this company at this point, and therefore I do not want them to replace the fence or damage our landscapingI am only looking for a fair resolution to this unfortunate incident

Mr *** placed an order for a fence and requested financingHe did not state the order was contingent on financingWhen I spoke to him after the financing was declined he said he wished to hold off and have the order installed in the spring
Generally a deposit is required to complete that action so his deposit check was cashedWhen he called on 10/and stated that his account was overdrawn and he did not expect his check to be cashed I spoke with the owner and $of his deposit was refunded him the same day

I am still waiting for the owner to contact me and for them to send me the rest of the fundsThey only gave me of the and I would like the rest
Final Consumer Response /* (4200, 15, 2015/10/26) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
The reason for going through these channels is because the full amount was not refundedWe did want to wait till spring, but did not ask for any materials to be ordered or anythingThey called us the next day to tel me that we were not approved for financing and then the check was not cashed until weeks laterThe salesman knew that if we were not approved we were not going to move forward but they cashed the check anywaysI want the dollars back I am owed

After speaking with the owner regarding this customer and his situation we have arrived at the following conclusionThe $which remains on his account is forfeit in lieu of the 20% restocking fee, for work completed on his behalfThe following is a timeline of events and activities
Sales representative sold customer fence, proposal is dated 9-Customer filled out credit application, signed proposal and wrote a check for $Order was turned in over the weekend and credit application was run on 9-Customer was notified of credit declineAt this point customer said he wanted to speak to his wife and they would decide what they wanted to doThe check was held and not cashed until 10-when we called the customer to see what they decided to doThe customer informed us that they decided they wanted to hold the order and install in the springAt this time the check was cashed and material was pulled and marked for this customerThe reason this is done is because the pricing given is good for the material we have in stockPrices generally increase in the spring and we would not be able to honor the pricing he was given unless we pull the product and mark it as soldOn 10-the customer called very upset and said his mortgage was being returned because we cashed the checkI apologized to him and told him I would contact the owner and salesman and see what I could doThe customer did not wait for a response from me before filing a report with the Revdex.comI contacted him after I had an answer and I told him the owner said of course we could refund him $to meet his other obligationsWe only need a small deposit to hold the material until springThe customer came in to pick up the deposit and at that time he said he no longer wanted the fence and wished to cancelUnfortunately, we are out the restocking fee because we were kind and refunded the majority of the depositTherefore our company is who took the loss for doing work for this customerWhile he may not see it, we have spent more than $in preparation expenses for himHowever, by the letter of the law, he had three days from the date of the proposal to cancel his order and his notice to us of his desire to cancel was on 10-

-holes in lawn, hacking sections together,
-fence sections separated during Oct wind storm;
-scratches to fence,

Origianal Revdex.com complaint closed by owner *** *** stating I filed suitI HAVE NEVER FILED SUIT WITH AN ATTORNEY ! Now can not reinstall until Spring 2015!
other fence companies were contacted to get quotes to repair and finish installAll stated they WOULD NOT repair the already poor install; they could only reinstall4th Company coming out within days to see if they will repair rather than reinstall a new fenceIf not, I am seeking the $deposit back to reinstall the fence at the quoted price of $with another companyDistributor of fence contacted in regards to America's Backyard as a certified installer as well
Final Consumer Response /* (4200, 39, 2015/01/29) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
America's Backyard has repeatedly demanded payment in full eventhough it is an inferior fence than ordered, desctruction to my property, unfinished installation and sections falling apart
Upon additional companies refusing to correct the fence and doing nothing less than full reinstall (ranging from $to 9600), I managed to find a 4th company to replace the north side of fence and properly fix the remaining fenceI have therefore offered to deduct the lesser, the 4th estimate of $off remaining balance of $and nothing lessAwaiting response from their attorney *** ***

I was looking for a company to build my parents a new deckI am a cancer survivor patient and my parents really helped us out during all my hospital stays and recoveryThey took care of my kids, dogs, and lived at our house allowing my husband to stay by my side in the hospitalWe hired Americas Backyard because they were the most affordable and they had great materialsWe went with a vynal deck with aluminum railingsWe signed the contract in June, being told the job would be finished end of July beginning of AugustWhich was perfect because my day post transplant day was the beginning of August also(A big deal!) So no phone calls into August, had to call the company and I was told they were behind, three people in front of usWe called again at the end of August, being told we were next in lineTwo weeks later the guy actually building the deck stops by and informs us that they are waiting for parts to come in, but he would start digging the holes and filling them with concreteDays later guys come out to dig the holes, all uneven!! So they pour the concrete anywaysWhen the guys that actually put the deck up came out they thought the posts were a jokeTwo of them were completely useless and they ended up just tearing them outBy the way this is another weeks laterSo the guys get the deck up finally, after Labor Day at this point, and they are great! It wasn't their fault all this has been put off and delayedIt looks wonderful, except we are still missing the stair railings! Waiting on more parts because it wasn't ordered properlyWhat a joke!! Something we started in June as a thank you to my parents for all the help they gave us has turned into and endless joke!! I would never recommend Americas Backyard to anyone!

The lifetime warranty is from the manufacturer for defects inherent in the materialThe warranty provided by America's Backyard is for the installation and covers a period of three years on the fence and one year on the gatesUnder use a gate does not crack and break in the manner that this
gate has brokenIt is unfortunate that something happened to cause the gate to break however it is not covered under warrantyWe have offered to replace the gate at cost without a labor chargeThe charge for something like this would be about $

Customer's fence is installed and she is happyThe hold up with the village was resolved thanks to her input

Based on the information (pictures) Mr *** sent in we told him the repair would be billableHe has argued that point and said it would be a warranty issueBased on that I arranged for a site inspection for himHowever, before that could take place he contacted the Revdex.comIt is
our policy that anyone who contacts the Revdex.com must be escalated to the owner for his personal attentionHe just had an opportunity to go to the site and inspect the damage and it appears that something hit the fence and broke the postsThere are black marks consistent with an impactThis is not something that would be covered by warrantyWe will be putting together an estimate for Mr ***

We got a new fence installed less than a year ago and and at first they installed the wrong fence so they had to replace itThis passed Monday the wind blew it over and broke a panelI've contacted this company over and over they got back to me two days later I sent them pictures and was supposed to get a phone call from them again and have someone come out to see the damage and still nothing! They don't try to correct any issues that I'm having with this fence

I myself personally reached out via email to Mr *** with a request for an answer on how he wished to proceedThe damage done to his fence, regardless of how it was done, is not covered under warrantyHe refuses to answer in any way other than via Revdex.comIn his last response he stated that he did not wish to proceed so we are closing his repair requestPlease let me know if you need any further information
