American Freedom Insurance is the worst company I've ever dealt with. On October 3 of this year my legally parked car was hit by a motorist insured with American Freedom Insurance. I wasn't in the car. I called the police who issued the motorist a citation. I then called my insurance company [redacted]) who advised me that I would have to pay a deductible ($1,000) if I filed a formal complaint with [redacted] I then decided to contact American Freedom Insurance, and that's when all of my problems began.
I received nothing but stalling and poor service from the claims adjuster. He didn't return my calls or my e-mails. I had to initiate the calls. Their appraiser came out to check my car for damages on 10-11. After leaving messages for the adjuster, I was finally able to reach him on 10-17, and he told me that the pictures and notes taken by the appraiser were still under review. He said the appraiser’s information needed to be double checked and that he wouldn’t accept the results of his own agent. However, he didn’t tell me another appraiser would come out to examine my car. I told him that it was unbelievable that he would doubt the reliability of his own agent.
He also said his company needed to determine liability for the accident. His client hit a car that was legally parked on the street, which is noted on the crash report. This was a one-person accident. Whose fault could it be but the motorist plus the motorist admitted that he was solely responsible. This was simply a stalling technique and an attempt to avoid paying me money for the repair or loss of my car.
Finally, on 10-20 I decided to contact my own insurance company and file a formal complaint. By 11-4 their appraiser had examined my car, declared it totaled, and I received a check for the loss of the car. So in less than two weeks [redacted]was able to do what American Freedom Insurance wasn't able to do in a month.
American Freedom Insurance authorized my use of a rental car, and I returned it on 10-21. I then sent a letter to them asking for reimbursement of the amount I paid for the rental car by 11-11, or I would sue their client in Small Claims Court. Based on past performance from this company, I don't think I will receive any money. So, I guess I will be off to file the suit next week.
American Freedom Insurance should not be allowed to have an insurance license. The company is irresponsible and incapable of dealing with people honestly. I will be contacting the Revdex.com, the Illinois Insurance Board, and any other agency that I think will censure them and keep them from doing business again with anybody.

I am rejecting this response because:
AMERICAN freedom is lying, no denial letter has been sent to my insurance company. Was told that today by my insurance company when inquiring about this "misinformation" you claim to have received from my insurance company. Per [redacted] at your company claim was denied because your insured failed to give you information regarding the owner of the car. Yet again not my fault. Nor any part of my insurance companies. Anything to avoid paying

Numerous attempts have been made to contact the Insured via telephone
and mail to clarify coverage and the details of the loss, to no avail.
There is also a concern regarding the exhaustion of policy limits.  To date we are still waiting on estimates and
photos from two individuals and subrogation packets from two carriers.
This complaint is without merit as the Complainant has been aware of the

02/17/14 the body shop submitted a supplement for the repairs which were also promptly authorized. This complaint is completely without merit as there was no delay attributable to this Company.

As confirmed by the Complainant, numerous attempts were made to contact the Insured via telephone, regular and certified mail to verify the driver of the loss vehicle and the loss circumstances, however all were to no avail.
At this time, we are not in a position to process this claim due to the Insured’s failure to cooperate and provide necessary claim information. At no time was the Claimant advised that the claim would be closed in eight (8) days or “oh well! that one of our insurer hit you we caint get her to response”.
This complaint is without merit as the Complainant was made aware of the claim’s status throughout the claim.

As previously stated, the claim was denied due to conflicting and misleading information provided to the Company in relation to the claimed loss and no coverage or payment can be made to the Complainant or her insurance carrier.  The denial letter was forwarded to the Complainant Claimant’s insurance company since they had made payment to repair the Complainant’s vehicle and has represented her in a subrogation claim.
The claim was handled properly and the Complainant has been aware of the Company’s position.

vehicle for what qualified as business/occupational purposes this was not disclosed on the signed application of insurance and would have required a higher premium rate.  The Insured had been informed that she can have the vehicle repaired at one of the Company’s preferred body shops or a body shop of her choice per the Company’s agreed price.

I'm paying full coverage for a car. Even with full coverage they didn't want to fix my car. They made me pay for tow service, they damaged it even more. They charge me money for the time that they've had it there, and made me pay to take it out. I had to pay $87 to take it out, had to pay for a tow service, and they didn't fix it at all, they ended up damaging it more.

Do not purchase auto insurance from this company. this is the worst insurance company in history. they will rip you off I.purchased auto insurance with this company around February or March of 2016. My car was involved in a hit and run.I did everything the insurance company advised me to do. I sent all requested docs. I did the estimates I provided the police report. The claims department stop calling me, the claims rep stop answering the phone and my emails. left messages on the supervisors line there still has not been a response. really bad service. This insurance company is a rip off.

I never received that denial letter, that info is not in the policy I signed.

I got insurance tyre SAVE A LOT AUTO in PEORIA ILLINOIS unfortunately they paired me 38th these yahoos. On Nov 1st I noticed damage to myself vehicle, reported it to police, reported it to American freedom and guess what 2 months later they descide to tell me that myself vehicle is a piece of crap (their words) and for all they k is the damage could have already been there. First off myself truck is a 2002 (so a little older) it only has 2 minimum rust spots around the wheel wales. 2nd there was NO scratches on it before this event so I would not day that's a piece of crap. Serine as it drives EXTREMLY well and looks as good as it does for being 15 years Old is day this company just does NOT want to do their job.

As stated in previous response, the Insured’s cooperation is necessary to evaluate the claim. Due to the Insured’s failure to cooperate and clarify details of the accident, the claim was appropriately denied based on the Insured’s breach of policy conditions requiring Notice, Assistance and Cooperation.

This complaint was filed by a third party Claimant who was allegedly involved in an accident with our Insured’s vehicle. This Company agrees that information was provided for both vehicles allegedly involved in the loss, but we reiterate that the driver’s name and facts of loss were not provided in the [redacted] Police Department Incident Report.
It must be noted, that to date we have not received any cooperation from our Insured to facilitate a proper investigation of this matter including verification of the identity of the driver and the loss circumstances. Moreover, the Complainant Claimant has not submitted any documentation to support her claim of having photos of the alleged driver, driver’s license, registration and damages to both vehicles to assist in the evaluation of this claim.
This complaint is without merit as the Complainant was made aware of the claim’s status.
