copy of the police report to his insurance company and file a claim. [redacted]
[redacted] will have to submit payment to American Mint and his insurance
company will reimburse him. Enclosed is a copy of his account statement. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused [redacted]. Let me

Review: I have complaints about American Mint. I won a discount
and sent a check for$4.95 and received a poor quality
molded(not stamped) lightly plated coin. Then because of
very fine print most my age can’t read I was sent 2 more
coins and billed $84. I called and requested a return mail
kit. I think it arrived in 10 days or so. I returned the two coins
as directed. Believe I used their address for a return address.
About 1 month later I received a bill for $84 so I called the
pay(not toll) number. The Service Rep tried to throttle me
on my nickel by doing all the talking. He said they never
received the coins. I repeated what I sent in writing to never
send me unsolicited coins “on approval” again despite
his constant windjamming efforts. we ended up screaming at
each other and I had it, called him a name (well deserved)
and hung up on him. After all it was my nickelDesired Settlement: I recommend
that any mail from American Mint be refused. They are
scammers skirting on the edge of mail fraud, possibly guilty
of elder abuse. They should be shut down. If I hear another
peep out of them I will contact my Attorney General’s
consumer complaint division.

Re: **. Gary [redacted] - ID #9790103
Dear **. [redacted],
I am writing in reference to **. [redacted]’s complaint. We received an introductory order form in the mail from **. [redacted] on 12/10/12 for a'free JFK 1961 Inauguration Speech commemorative coin. We received payment of $4.95 for shipping and handling with [redacted]. This package was shipped to **. [redacted]’s address on 12/11/12. Another item, a JFK Man on the Moon Speech coin, was sent along inside the same package for preview with no obligation to purchase as it states on the order form in the American Mint Satisfaction Guarantee. This paragraph also states “You will be billed only for the items you decide to keep. If you pay by credit card, future shipments will not be charged until 25 days after the invoice date. You are under no obligation!” Enclosed is a copy of this order form.
We do provide postage paid return labels upon request as it states on the reverse side of our “Returns Information Form” enclosed inside all of our packages. Our hours of operation, email address and toll free phone number are also located on this paperwork.
Per the American Mint Satisfaction Guarantee, the $79.95 for the JFK Man on the Moon Speech coin was billed to the initial credit card on 1/17/13. Since a request for cancellation or a return was not received, the “Life of JFK” coin collection continued. Invoices 2 through 7 were all shipped from this collection and billed to the credit card after the preview period.
Invoice 8 was shipped on 6/13/13 and contained a JFK Nuclear Test Ban Treaty coin and a JFK 50th Anniversary coin. The charge of $165.85 (2 coins plus shipping and handling) was billed to the credit card on 7/15/13. These items were returned on 7/25/13. The $165.85 was refunded to the credit card on 7/26/13. This shipment concluded the “Life of JFK” coin collection. Thus, the next collection, “Greatest American Presidents,” was introduced.
The first shipment of the new collection was invoice 9 and shipped on 8/5/13. This coin was billed to the credit card on 9/4/13. It was returned on 9/10/13 and refunded to the credit card on 9/11/13. Invoice 10 and 11 were sent and billed to the credit card.
Invoice 12 was sent on 9/30/13 and invoice 13 was sent on 10/18/13. Neither of these invoices were billed to the credit card. These items are outstanding for $131.70.
The first communication we had with **. [redacted] was per a telephone call on 10/22/13. During this conversation, he advised us that he had sent letters of cancellations. Unfortunately, American Mint does not have record of receiving any letters from him. **. [redacted] requested to speak to a supervisor. Our supervisor contacted **. [redacted] but was unable to reach him. A phone message was left. American Mint also cancelled the “Greatest American Presidents” coin collection, removed his name from the mailing list, prevented the credit card to bill for invoice 12 & 13, and sent him a postage paid return label to return those invoices.
On 10/25, our supervisor called and left him another message since we had not heard back from him. On the message, she indicated that the credit card would not be charged anymore, explained our American Mint Satisfaction Guarantee, advised that a return label was sent, and explained that we removed his name from our mailing list but that it may take up to ninety days to cease since they are preprinted.
American Mint has not received a return as of yet for invoice 12 & 13. Another return label has been issued should the first one not be received. Enclosed is a copy of **. [redacted]'s account statement.
We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused **. [redacted]. Let me know if you need anything further. Thank you for your assistance in settling this matter.
Sincerely,
