Review: I went to this business for a total of 4 times and only once was I helped. The other three times I was turned away and two of those times I had appointments scheduled and was still told I should come back later when they are not busy, apparently they take walk in and ONLY work on the jobs where they make the most money first even if you have an appointment for services. They wasted my time and gas and really should be ashamed of themselves as I will never return.Desired Settlement: They should not schedule appointments that they cannot keep with people unless they are willing to refund them the gas or do the services free!

Review: On Friday 10/16/15 terrible customer service issue with [redacted] at American Tire Depot in Cypress, 5493 Avenue, Cypress, CA 90630. I initially went there on 8/7/15 only for two new front tires. [redacted] N (a different [redacted])indicated I needed to replace my rear shocks. [redacted] N stated the right rear shock was leaking and both rear shocks needed to be replaced and my front struts will need to be replaced as well. I stated to [redacted] N I just got my oil changed 20 minutes ago at the Toyota Dealer and Toyota did not mention anything about struts nor shocks and Toyota put my car on the rack and should have seen it and informed me and I am not having a problem with the ride, noise or anything. I also mentioned to [redacted] N Toyota recommended what I needed done on my receipt however no shocks or struts only two new front tires. [redacted] N. stated he is surprised Toyota did not tell me about this and I should have the work done he also told [redacted] I followed [redacted] N. advice and agreed to have the shocks done. [redacted] N. looked up the shock information for my shocks and it said to use the Mfg stocks only. After the repair and I drove off the parking lot my car was bouncing all over the place. I left like a low rider. I took my car right back and share my concern with [redacted] N. he sent me and the mechanic on a test run. I was told the shock have to be broken in and If I have the same problem the next day to bring it back. I had same effect the next morning took it back on my way to work [redacted] N sent me on another test run with same mechanic. I was told it was the road. I was not unhappy and dissatisfied. I went to work feeling ripped off. I was very adamit about how my car was riding I spend $638.63 cash in one day on 8/7/15 I waited a few month hoping things would get better it did not. I went to see [redacted] N on 8/12/15 shared my concerns again and requested they be replaced. [redacted] N sent me on a test run with the same mechanic again. He stated I should just get the right shocks for my car. CONTINUE COMPLAINT BELOWDesired Settlement: CONTINUANCE OF COMPLAINT BELOW:[redacted] n. agreed to order mfg shock made me an appt. on 10/16/15 at 8am. I arrived on time met [redacted] informed him I had a 8 am appt for shock replacement he stated you are the shock replacement. Do I want to wait or come back. Review: Mid May 2014 I was in having my tire serviced for a flat, when I was notified that my rim was slightly cracked. [redacted], the store manager offered for me to drop my car off on Memorial Day as I was going out of town for a week and could have the rim repaired within 3 days or so and I could pick it up when I returned. When I returned the following Saturday morning, I called Ron to see if my car was ready for pick up; to my surprise it was not. I was told Monday or Tuesday. I called Monday and was told Wednesday or Thursday. Finally on Thursday (a week and a half later) my car was finally ready for pick up. Ron was very helpful in picking me up to get my car, but I couldn't be more disappointed with the overall experience. The inconvenience of being without a car for 3x the estimated time of repair only to have it returned to me covered in bird droppings and dead leaves. It had been sitting under a tree for over a week and returned in worse condition than I left it. If I give you the opportunity to do business with me, I expect my property to be returned in the same shape or better, NOT WORSE. I mentioned to the attendant that my car was covered in bird dropping and he seemed to not understand or ignore me. The front desk attendant passing by, I think his name was [redacted], told me my car was already dirty. I told him it didn't look like this when I brought it in. I mean, way to kick someone while they're down. I told him I would never be back. I'm in shock by the way my property was treated while away - very disheartening.Desired Settlement: Apology and reimbursement for car wash.

Re: American Tire Depot

1135 Broadway

Chula Vista, CA 91910

(619) 870-2196

I took my 2005 Toyota Camry LE to American Tire Depot to get my tires balanced.

I was told it would be 45 minutes to move the tires out of the way until someone could start working on my car. It took another 45 minutes to finish balancing my tires. [redacted] worked on my car and later brought me over to my car to tell me all the things that needed fixing. He was very unprofessional calling me mija telling me he would take care of me and would give me a good price. [redacted] gave me an estimate. When it was time to pay [redacted] told me he was not going to charge me, and that the time I waited was payment. I did not get a receipt.

[redacted] had also mentioned he didn’t even work at the Broadway store he was just filling in because the employees from the Broadway store could not come in.

When I got home I was on my patio (which is on a second story) when I noticed the top of my car which was dented across the top just above the rear back window. I was shocked and I knew I was not responsible for that damage. I work at SD High School and park in the street with nothing over the top roof of my car. I know American Depot is responsible. About 5:30/6:00 my son and I went back to AM Tire and spoke to [redacted]. He completely denied it. He said if he saw it he would have reported it. He called [redacted] out and again we told him our complaint. I asked them to raise my car to show me how they worked on my car in the morning. [redacted] drove it to the garage and pulled it all the way in, then lifted it. It was not very high at all. [redacted] said this is how it was which was not true. [redacted] called me out in the morning to see what my car needed. I had to look up to see what he was talking about. It was not eye level like [redacted] said it was. I know the car was a lot higher and not pulled all the way into the completely into the garage. [redacted] insisted that the line in the cement on the floor across all the garages was their guide when raising the cars. I asked [redacted] is there a way we can get the manager on the phone he told me no. What does he do he goes into the office and calls the manager and spoke to him. I told them I wanted to see the recorded videos that watch over the store. Pedro, [redacted] and another young man with glasses went on and on insisting that it was not their fault. After wasting my night I asked for the managers name and told them I would be back in the morning 11/14/2014. I called the store about 8:45 and spoke to the manager at the time. He told me to come in and that it was a good time because the regional manager was there. When I got there like I expected all the cars that were raised up were almost half way out of the garage right under a beam that was obviously where the dent on top of my roof was. I took plenty of pictures of my car, the store and the way Pieter had raised the car the previous night and in the morning when I was there with the regional manager. I believe the Regional manager’s name is [redacted] started to look at my car take some pictures. He then told me to get him 3 estimates and he would cut me a check. He looked at my tires and said [redacted] should not even of balanced my tires it is policy and because I needed new tires. I asked him for something in writing regarding what he had told me. [redacted] said he could not give me anything in writing because he wasn’t at the store at the time of the incident and he was not even sure I was there and that I did not have a receipt. I handed him the estimate [redacted] gave me he said he would not take it because it was not dated and again said he was not sure I was there he’s giving me the benefit of the doubt. I want to see the camera footage from 11/13/2014. This is very frustrating and stressful first they deny, lie, and then cover up for each other. The regional manager was rude, not apologetic at all. This takes so much time out of my days I am not happy with American Tire Depots services, I will not recommend the shop to anyone.

11/20/14 I went to America Tire Depot to give the [redacted] the manager the estimates. I also told him by law I do not have to get three estimates. One estimate was from Ron Baker Chevy. $1800. and Supreme Auto $2100. [redacted] took the estimates and told me he would fax them to the main office so they can investigate.

I asked investigate what? He went on about how he doesn’t think they did it. He said again that he doesn’t even know if I was there on the 13th and that he’s giving me the benefit of the doubt. We went back and forth then I told him I was not going to deal with him anymore and that I will be going through my insurance and my insurance will go after them. I told him I have pictures and he asked me to give him a copy of them. I also told him I would be calling the Revdex.com and I left. When I got home I got a call from [redacted] another manager asking me to call him in order to set up a time to look at my car. I did not call him back.

I then called Liberty Mutual and made a claim.Desired Settlement: I would like them admit what they did. Also I would like them to honor the estimate/apraisal that my insurance company finds for damages.

Review: On 19 May 15, I was on [redacted] reviewing Auto Servicers for oil change on 2006 [redacted], V8, [redacted]. American Tire Depot (ATD) advertised deal for $16.95 conventional oil change for [redacted]. I called ATD and spoke w [redacted], Manager about my car specification and he stated the [redacted] price covered 5 qrts of oil and IAW the car manufacturer specs, my vehicle need 6 qrts so I 'd pay the difference. I showed up at my appt time on 20 May 15, I paid for conventional oil change, mgr and techs were professional and timely w/service. They recommended I return for oil change at 181006 miles and that my power steering pump be replaced soon. I assured them I would return as the service and price was great. On 30 Jul 15, my son, called ATC for me to schedule an appointment for another conventional oil change for same vehicle and verified that I could use the same [redacted] deal advertised. We showed up on 31 Jul 15, 1430 at our appt time and was rudely greeted by [redacted]. He immediately told us that he was busy and couldn't get to us right away. My son advised [redacted] that we had an appt and he told my son that he didn't have an appointment and acted like he did not want our business. My son went to [redacted] account to prove appt and all of a sudden [redacted] found appt on computer. He then told my son the [redacted] deal was no good as the vehicle mfg mandates that my car takes a synthetic blend oil change for $44.95 for a synthetic oil change for $64.95. I informed [redacted] we want a conventional oil change as I had on 20 May 15 at this same location. The vehicle mfg requires 5 Qtrs 5W-20 oil, 6 qtrs if changing oil filter. Synthetic oil is optional. My husband is a mechanic for the [redacted] and spoke w/[redacted] to let him know that syn oil is not reqd. ATD is upcharging unnecessarily and using switch and bait on military members. [redacted] refused to do a conventional oil change. Sears gave me a conventional oil for $17.95 using the same mfg spcs on same day. [redacted] offered same for $29Desired Settlement: I would like American Tire Depot to stop the deceptive advertising practice of good price of conventional oil change used to lure military and community members into their shop then resorting to not being truthful about the manufacturer suggested services and using switch and bait tactics to force customers into paying for higher services than what is actually needed. The 2006 [redacted] Manufacturer does not require synthetic oil, it requires conventional oil. We bought this car brand new and have always used conventional oil at the dealer and when stationed overseas. This is why we were so surprised that ATD would stop to such low tactics to upcharge customers. As a resolution, I would like ATD to offer me the [redacted] prices of $16.95 for a conventional oil change for my 2006 [redacted] in the future as an act of good faith of service and good business practices. This same service was provided at this same location a few months ago.

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution would be satisfactory to me. I will wait for the business to perform this action and, if it does, will consider this complaint resolved.

Regards,

Review: On November 13th 2014 at approx. 11:30 a.m. I [redacted] visted American Tire Depot in Santa Maria, California. I contacted Mr. [redacted] store manager and inquired about a front passenger tire flat repair and alignment. He advised me it would be 45 minutes to an hour to complete. I agreed and left my vehicle in his care. He told me he would call me when vehicle was finished. 3 and half hours later, I never received a call from anyone, so I decided to go back to shop to see if work on my car was complete. It was not. After waiting in the shop for another 45 minutes, Mr. [redacted] finally told me they could not align the vehicle because of a bad front passenger tie rod. When I asked why did this take so long to diagnose the problem he proceeded to give me misinformation and double talk. He attempted to explain the problem was on the front passenger right side tie rod. Which it was not, (it was left driver side). I could not see anything wrong myself upon my own inspection. I then asked Mr. [redacted] if I could speak to the mechanic who worked on my car. (The mechanics name was [redacted].) At this time Mr. [redacted] became very irate and emotional. I continued to ask to please speak to the mechanic and that I did not want to speak to Mr. [redacted] because he was very upset and angry. At which point Mr. [redacted] got right in my face (within an inch) and told me to get the [redacted] out of his shop or he was going to call the police. Implying I was the one doing something wrong and attempting to shift blame and treat me as a criminal. This incident was witnessed by (3) employees who were in the shop at the time. After speaking to [redacted],& getting clarification he told me Mr. [redacted] was under alot of stress and just had (2) mechanics walk out on him. If Mr. [redacted] treats his customers this way, I can only imagine how he treats his employees. Mr. [redacted] should not be a manager at any reputable business.Desired Settlement: On Monday November 17th 2014, I contacted regional manager [redacted] to file a complaint against his employee. Mr. [redacted] explained to me that he would do everthing he could to correct the problem, and "make things right." To this date I have not heard back from Mr. [redacted] or anybody else. I also explained to him my car was misdiagnosed on April 26th 2014 and repaired for a bad wheel bearing which was not the problem. I was charged $150.00 for unnecessary repairs and my car still has the same problem. This should have been discovered back in April. I would like my Front left driver side Tie Rod repaired and complete alignment free of charge. Which I was quoted by Mr. [redacted]ould be done for $150.00 dollars.
