April 3, Indianapolis Revdex.com EWashington Street Indianapolis, IN Attn*** *** Re: Complaint Case # *** ***, Thank you for bringing this complaint to our attentionWe appreciate the opportunity to respond
to complaints against our company On 10/1/2016, Mr*** agreed to advertise with Angie’s List for one year per the attached agreement. We require each prospective advertiser to sign a contract outlining the services Angie’s List will render, the relevant categories and the ad rate a service provider must pay for these servicesOur advertising can never guarantee lead generation or a certain number of phone calls per week; instead it guarantees placement on the website. We did look back through the sales process, and did not find that there was any misleading or confusing commentary on our endNeither did we find that any pressure to sign on the spot was offered. In fact, the sale took place over the course of a week’s worth of conversations Each contract includes a standard cancellation fee of 35% of the remaining balance of the agreement. We had attempted to make changes to the contract in order to better satisfy Mr***, but Mr*** still preferred to cancel as opposed to discussing options to improve Mr***’s advertising relationshipWe apologize that we were not able to satisfy Mr*** during the course of his advertising relationship In short, I sincerely apologize that this customer is disappointed with their experience with Angie’s ListWe did, however, deliver to the extent of our contractWe attempted to make concessions and worked to better satisfy Mr***, but were unfortunately not successful at this Thanks again for the opportunity to respond to this complaintPlease let me know if we can provide any further information. Kind regards, Andy H** Angie’s List

I have received an additional email from Angie's List. They have refunded my money through PayPal. I reject, however, their explanation for the charge. They were trying to charge my sister for a renewal fee. My sister occasionally uses my PayPal account to purchase items. My sister is not part of my household, she does not live with me, and she is not listed on my checking account, from which the funds were withdrawn. I do not understand why Angie's List would think they could send me a bill just because my sister uses my PayPal account. They need to have more checks in place to prevent this in the future. I have spent several hours trying to resolve this. If Angie's List would only have a telephone number where non-Gold members could call to talk to a live person to resolve problems, this would have handled in minutes and I would not have to had the Revdex.com involved

We apologize for any frustration this customer has experienced with the provider that they have paid through Angie's List to complete their electrical work. The funds are with the service provider at this time. the service provider will be responsible for completing the work or issuing any type of refund to the customer directly
August 21, 2017Indianapolis Revdex.comEWashington StreetIndianapolis, IN 46202Attn*** ***Re: Complaint Case # ***, Thank you for bringing this complaint to our attentionWe appreciate the opportunity to give our side of the story regarding complaints filed against our
company. I’d like to start by offering a sincere apology to Mr*** for any confusion or frustration. As Mr*** mentioned, he purchased an offer from the company *** *** *** on August 7, As Mr*** also conceded, the deal mentioned that “debris will be bagged or bundled and left at member's house for regular local pick-up.” It seems that Mr*** hadn’t noticed that provision until the provider arrived at his house to do the work, so I can understand the frustration there. As the lawn work from Mr***’s purchase had not been started, and he contacted us promptly to let us know, we are always happy to issue a full refund for purchases made through Angie’s List It seems that Mr*** contacted us via email and asked for our help without providing any details other than requesting someone to speak to over the phone We are proud of our top-tier customer service over the phone, which is included in our Gold level memberships The free membership that Mr*** has still entitles him to our excellent support via email, but Mr*** filed a complaint with the Revdex.com prior to letting us know about his trouble. That said, I have called Mr*** personally to offer my assistance with this or any other concern, and I have processed the $refund that Mr*** requested Mr***’s dissatisfaction with the company he dealt with could best be tracked and could best benefit other members if he chooses to leave a review regarding his experience with the company Companies that offer eCommerce deals on the Angie’s List website do not work for Angie’s List Angie’s List does not instruct the company on how they run their business The company is responsible for the quality of work and experience provided to members, but reviews help Angie’s List determine who we will continue doing business with, and help fellow consumers make more informed hiring decisions.I find it regrettable that we left Mr*** feeling he had no recourse but to contact the Revdex.comWe strive to provide top-notch service to our members. Thanks again for the opportunity to respond to this complaintPlease let me know if we can provide any further information Kind regards, Jesse B***Angie’s List

frustration this process has caused Mr*** As you may know, Angie’s List allows consumers to post comments regarding experiences they have had with area companies Angie’s List is a passive conduit for these comments, meaning the content is wholly supplied by our consumer members Because other consumers rely on the statements made by each member, we require each and every member to sign the following statement before submitting a report:* I confirm that the information contained in this Service Evaluation Form (i) is true and accurate and (ii) represents my actual first-hand experience, or experience which I am authorized to discussI acknowledge and understand that Angie's List is relying upon the accuracy of the information in order to serve other membersI confirm that I do not work for, am not in competition with, or am not in any way related to the service provider in this report.Assuming that our members are willing to attest to the truthfulness of each report, we allow positive and negative reports to be submitted to our forum We do not remove reports at the request of service providers Rather, we allow each service provider to respond to any reports they receive, to share their point of viewWe do have processes in place if a company notifies us that they do not recognize the name and address of a member associated with a review on their company We will reach out to the member that submitted the review in an attempt to confirm that review at the request of the service provider In Mr***’s case, this process was not applicable as the dispute is not regarding who left the review but rather the content of the review itself.Mr*** did not specify which negative review on his company’s profile he was referencing in his complaint, but based on the recent notes on his profile, I am assuming it is the review submitted by member *** ***I did see that Mr*** spoke with a representative on 3/24, and that same representative did attempt to reach back out to Mr*** on 3/but was informed he was out of the office until the following weekI have reached out regarding Mr***’s request to have a representative from Angie’s List follow up with him directly.I find it regrettable that we left Mr*** feeling no other recourse than to complain to the Revdex.com. Thanks again for the opportunity to respond to this complaint, and please let me know if we can provide any further information.Kind regards,Jesse B***Angie’s List

against our company. I’d like to start by offering a sincere apology to Ms*** for the frustration this process has caused Ms*** purchased an offer from the company Magnolia’s Locksmith & Door Company on May 5, Ms*** requested assistance with the deal from Angie’s List on May 18th, due to problems with the company. MsComaskey’s refund was processed today, May 21st. Her refund was processed in full, in the amount of $98.00. Her credit card company may take a business day or two to reflect that this refund has been posted.Providers who offer coupons or deals through Angie’s List are required to meet a variety of criteria, and their ratings from members are a primary determinant on whether we will continue allowing them to present offers to our members. Ms. *** has not yet written a review on her experience; we would encourage her to do so to share her poor impression of Magnolia’s Locksmith & Door Company with fellow members and allow us to make the best decision about allowing them to run deals in the future Service providers offering deals must honor these deals, so we will look further into the specific situation to be sure this is happening.I find it regrettable that we left Ms. *** feeling she had no recourse but to contact the Revdex.comWe strive to provide top-notch service to our members. Thanks again for the opportunity to respond to this complaintPlease let me know if we can provide any further information. Kind regards, Jesse B***Angie’s List

I’d like to start by offering a sincere apology to Mr*** for the frustration this process has caused Mr*** purchased an offer from the company *** *** on April 25, Mr*** requested a refund and was asked to fill out a refund form, as we do with all customers for refund requests in order to track and investigate providers if warranted. No fraud occurred with Angie’s List. We are in communication with the provider at this time regarding the provider not honoring the deals that he had posted on Angie’s List. May 29, 2015Indianapolis Revdex.comEWashington StreetIndianapolis, IN 46202Attn*** ***Re: Complaint Case # ***, Thank you for bringing this complaint to our attentionWe appreciate the opportunity to give our side of the story regarding complaints filed against our
company I’d like to start by offering a sincere apology to Mr*** for the frustration he has experienced, and for any misunderstanding or misinformation when he called in to cancel his membership Though it is true that mobile browsers are not supported by Angie’s List, and we do recommend the use of our free app when searching the List on a mobile device, this should not affect a provider’s number of reviews or rating displayed Upon looking through Mr***’s search history, it seems that he may have been viewing the same company while searching in multiple categories If we have received five reviews on a Drain Cleaning service, we will display the company’s overall grade for Drain Cleaning when that category is searched That same company may have a different grade and different number of reviews in another category, such as Drain Pipe Installation We try to organize our information into categories in order to let our members compare like for like and find more relevant reviews faster In this case, it seems that rather than help Mr*** find relevant service providers, it hampered his understanding of the search results For that, I am truly sorry.Further frustration may have been caused because it seems Mr*** had his account set up to be based around Aztec, New Mexico, but it seems he was attempting to search in Chattanooga, Tennessee We would be happy to help set this up to make it easier to find local search results. In terms of Mr***’s comments about claims not being verified and claims for certain services, I am not sure what exactly this is in reference to All providers on Angie’s List are rated not by Angie’s List ourselves, but by consumers in the area who have used the companies they are rating Any company advertising a coupon on Angie’s List must offer a valuable discount to our members, and only highly rated companies are permitted to offer these discounts If a company was not honoring a written discount, we would definitely want to know about this to take action.Though all of our annual memberships come with a 110% satisfaction guarantee, our monthly memberships offer no such policy If Mr*** had let us know of his frustration prior to the monthly renewal, we could have prevented the second $charge from being applied However, as a courtesy, we are refunding the full $that Mr*** paid for two months of his membership We would love the opportunity to serve Mr*** in the future, and I am confident that if he tried our service again, he would see better results.Again, we sincerely apologize for any frustration this caused. August 19, 2015Indianapolis Revdex.comEWashington StreetIndianapolis, IN 46202Attn*** ***Re: Complaint Case # ***, Thank you for bringing this complaint to our attentionWe appreciate the opportunity to give our side of the story regarding complaints filed against our
company I’d like to start by offering a sincere apology to Ms*** for the frustration this process has caused. Ms*** purchased a Big Deal from Turning Leaf Tree Service on 11/21/ It seems as though there was some misinformation provided by Turning Leaf, which we apologize for However, this Big Deal, like most of the Big Deals on Angie’s List, had its promotional value expiration date set for six months after the date of purchase Ms*** did not let us know of any difficulties using the Deal until 7/23/2015, two months after the deal had expired, and well outside of our Day Refund window. With all of the above stated, our policies are designed to allow Angie’s List to step in and assist when situations are going poorly, and are designed with our members’ best interests in mind In light of the reasons behind our policies, today on August 19th, a supervisor made an exception to our policy and issued a refund of $back to her credit card We have emailed Ms*** to confirm that this refund has been processed.I apologize again to Ms*** that she had this poor experience with her Big DealWe strive for top notch customer service, and we have clearly failed in terms of our communication on this matter In the future, we can often help with scheduling problems and other frustrations, and our Day Refund Policy exists primarily to encourage members to let Angie’s List know of problems before they become too large to overcome We hope to continue assisting and serving her in the future Thanks again for the opportunity to respond to this complaintPlease let me know if we can provide any further information Kind regards, Jesse B***Angie’s List

complaints filed against our company I’d like to start by offering a sincere apology to Ms*** for any confusion or frustration regarding her membership and her preferred methods of cancellation Ms*** purchased a one-year membership to Angie’s List in and has been a member who renewed annually every year. All of our annual memberships purchased online default to automatically renew for one year at a time at the end of their originally purchased term. I do want to confirm that we received two email requests from Ms***, on 7/13/and 8/1/2016, requesting to cancel her membership, however, the email address that was used to send the cancellation requests is not associated with her membership. Angie’s List representatives responded to the emails from Ms*** to request additional information to help locate her membership. I apologize if Ms*** did not receive the email responses to help cancel her membership As Ms*** has requested, I have set her membership so it will not renew at the end of her current term, which expires on 8/27/2016. Ms*** will still be able to use her membership through this expiration date. Should Ms*** choose to renew as a member again in the future, she should know that we actually do have many ways to cancel one’s membership, including calling (866) 625-5478, emailing us at [email protected], or even chatting with our customer service on our website I find it regrettable that we left Ms*** feeling she had no recourse but to contact the Revdex.comWe strive to provide top-notch service to our membersWe do now offer a free membership option if she only occasionally needs to look up information on providers Thanks again for the opportunity to respond to this complaintPlease let me know if we can provide any further information.
