*** *** I was quoted $for parts and labour to fix our fridge, after calling around and investigating I found out that the part would cost less then $ Upon speaking to the customer service manager, and inquiring as to the high quote, I was told that the company has "up-charges " for parts, I immediately cancelled the job and found a much more reliable company to come and as the problem and the technician was able to reset the control board within minutes No replacement parts were ever needed

I really wish I had read some reviews before hiring Appliance Repair Guys Big mistakeNot only did the technician misdiagnose the problem with my fridge, he also replaced a start relay with a sub par partSoon enough, three weeks later, the fridge stopped workingI then hired a professional technician, who very quickly diagnosed the real issue, which in fact was the thermostat and defrost timerThese parts were replaced with authentic brand parts and the fridge was running againFurthermore, to prove that Appliance Repair Guys had misdiagnosed the problem, the professional technician asked for my 'old, burnt out' relayHe then proceeded to PUT BACK the orginal start relay which Appliance Repair Guys insisted was the problem and all of a sudden the fridge was running beautifullyMy jaw dropped to the ground! *** I wasn't pleased to say the leastAppliance Repair Guys did return my call, only to tell me a whole heap of foolishnessI did not see the point of filing a complaintI have only one question, was the Appliance Repair Guy technician in fact a technician or a salesman? The answer....he either didn't know what he was doing OR he did know what he was doing and purposely set up the fridge for failure and hence warrant another service call to screw me again out of more moneyIt all seems very questionable to me! Perhaps even downright shadyMy recommendation to others, save yourself the heartache and hire elsewhere

Basically, the same experience as others have reported (I should have checked first!!)
A well rehearsed process that ends up with the customer paying an exorbitant fee for an appliance repair
Starts with an $charge for a service call by servicemen (intimidating) which then escalates to $for labour to achieve the fix, plus parts (there's always some)...and at the end of the day, I paid $to have a fuse changed on my dishwasher

My family and I will never use their services again We had them come in to look at our microwave The repair guy said that he needed to fix certain things but if parts were needed then the cost would be extra We paid over $for the repairs he made and then he told us the main board needed to be replaced I don't understand how you don't notice ahead of time that there is something wrong with the main part of a microwave He said he would contact us in days to give us more info about the part but he never called Only after weeks did someone finally call us back and this was after I constantly called them to get more info The information they shared with us was that they couldn't get the part The company is terrible at following up and seem to be money grabbers

*** They wave their $service fee and wind up charging $to just look at the applianceGet you to sign there contract in at least places to cover their buts*** *** Something should be done with this dishonest company

*** Refrigerator service Charged $for labour for less than hour but they did waive the $house call charge A small part cost $but when I looked it up on the internet the cost was $ Total service should have cost less than $but ended up at $
Everything was approved in advance but what choice when your refrigerator is out of service and the repairman is at your house

Do not have this company fix any of your appliances My husband called them to come and fix our ** refrigerator They showed up and took the bottom freezer panel out and said it wasn't working because of ice build up They removed the ice and said the fridge will take a few hours to start working Well it never did start working They charged me $and it is still not working They said the motherboard needs to be fixed and that would be an additional cost of $ I did not have them back to install a motherboard because they are useless I called ** and I was told they are not an authorized dealer to repair ** appliances and should not have said they would repair my fridge My husband also called *** appliances before calling Appliance Repair Guys and they told him they would not come to look at the fridge because they are not authorized to purchase parts According to ** Canada Appliance Repair Guys is not authorized to purchase parts from them so they should not have even come to look at the fridge They should have told us this before agreeing to come and look and the fridge I called ** and they have set up an appointment with an ** service provider

on dec an emplyee from the Appliance Repair Guys came to our homeHe walked in , turned on the stove , took out the light bulb , and sat down and came up with an invoice for without any investigation I asked him what the problem was and he said he did not know I suspected right away that there was a problem as this reapir service call was quite different from others in that there was no effort on his part to show me the problem through an investigation before the acutal quoteHis manner was intimidating and since I am a senior female, I paid him the service call to get him out of my home and proceeded to call the managerI never did get to talk to that person as a girl hired to address customer complaints refused to give me the contact number
I wanted my dollars back as in my view he did not properly handle even the servide call as he did not provide me with the information as to what was wrong with the stove and did not justify the labour and cost of the job as a result*** ***

I paid $and was told the washing machine was fixed when it was notThey offered not warranty or compensationDefinitely do not use Appliance Repair Guys

Unfortunately I did not check this site prior to having Appliance Repair Guys, come to my home to look at my rangeWhen I called I told them ahead of time that we had two burners on my stove that do not work and need changingThey said it would be $charge to come out, the receptionist repeatedly stated it would be $80, I assured her I understood and that as long as they are reputable I won't mind paying the chargeShe assured me they were and have been in business for a long timeA technician came and again I told him the two burners need changing, at this point all he would have had to do was to look for the model # and order the part for installationInstead he said he had to pull out the range and look into itWe reluctantly agreed with the understanding that all the labour paid today (March 31/16) would cover the installation of any part that may need changingHe opened the stove top and concluded that yes I was correct two burners need changingHe then told us that the model # could not be seen on the stove and without it they couldn't get the partsHe could have told us that at the onset bc he check but instead he went forward with the pulling out of the stove and charged me for it
I asked the technician over and over again, infront of two witnesses, whether the installation of the parts (which he said his company was good at finding even without the model number was missing) was included in the payment I was making today of $He with out hesitation said "absolutely when the person comes to install your parts you pay nothing for the labour only the parts!" I reluctantly signed the bill and paid the chargeI had a bad feeling about doing so but trusted his word! I've learned a lesson, costly one
I decided to help in the search of the parts since we only had a part number for the model I called Frigidaire and they told me, using the part number I did have, that it was a stove and gave me the remaining part of the model number that was missingThey also recommended a supplier that deals with older stovesI contacted them and they found the partsi then followed up with Appliance Repair Guys and told them I found the Model # and parts and would simply need them to contact the supper get the parts and come do the jobThe receptionist, was hesitant to take down any information and kept saying that their parts people would contact meNo one calledI then called again on April 5th - this time the customer service manager said that they couldn't find the parts and also explained that there is an extra charge for parts and labour to install the partsMy husband and I both explained what the technician had said and that this is what we expectedShe kept repeating that we misunderstoodI told her I repeated my understanding to the technician and he said without hesitation that the labour to install the parts was already paid in the March 31/paymentShe would not relent and kept repeating that we misunderstoodI asked to speak with the person above her, she said the owner does not speak to customers and "that is why he has a customer service manager!" She was very abrasive and seemed to have had this type of call beforeHer responses were well rehearsed
I did read over all the paperwork after this call and I realized where they "got us!" the technician asked us to sign a small piece of paper that said Labour Quote Approval before the work was startedI wish we had read the fine printBasically this paper stated that they do not guarantee to fix your problem and that if any parts have to be obtained you (the customer) are responsible for part and additional labourThis is totally the opposite of what the technician tells you verballySo be carefulI wish I had not called this company at all and that I had NOT paid them since what the technician did was nothingmy stove still has two burners that don't workWhat they did was not sufficientI should have not paid them and let them take me to court instead
By the way I told the customer service manager that I would contact the Revdex.com she was not movedAfter coming on this site and seeing the terrible reviews I called them back and told them, their response was "we don't go by the Revdex.com!"

I can not believe the level of incompetence from this company. I replaced a gasket on my washing machine door for almost $500. The very next time I used the washer, it was banging all over the place. Obviously the drum is completely unbalanced. They want to charge me $50 to come back and fix their mistake. Unbelievable level of rudeness. The person making the decision hides behind the customer service rep and won't even speak to me. NEVER going there again.

My issue is exactly the same as the issue shown on your review page. I paid a service fee and parts were to be ordered. They could not give me a price at the time of the consult. I was told that when the parts come in I would be responsible for paying 50% upfront and the balance when they were installed. I suggested that maybe the part would not be available since I had an older dishwasher and the tech told us that they could get any part. When he left my place he didn't put back the anchor screws that hold the dishwasher into the counter. He said that this dishwasher is so solid in the space that it would not budge. When I went to use the dishwasher after he left the dishwasher was following forward.

We decided not to go ahead with the parts and decided that we would be better off getting a new dishwasher. When | informed the company I asked if an adjustment could be made on the service since we were not going to have the parts installed. They indicated that the service was for what they had previously done. We feel that we were ripped off. We were charged $280 plus tax less a $15 coupon for a half hours work with no positive results. Also when the tech was here he said that there was a crack in the facing of the dishwasher. I hadn't noticed it previously but by the time he left the facing was actually broken. He said that he could order the part.

The bottom line is that I don't trust this company at all. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THEM.

This company charged $280 plus tax for a hour of work fixing a dishwasher (no parts, just labour) and left without verifying their work. When we tried to call about this we were told that because we signed the labour contract, which they voided by not verifying their work, there was nothing they could do. For comparison - HVAC charges $55/hour, auto mechanics $80, physiotherapists $95. Appliance repair is a skill but it's not worth $280/hour. [redacted]

Called Appliance Repair Guys to fix fridge. Was charged a $280 labour quote for service. Repair guy installed start relay (cost $145) for a total cost of $480.25. A few hours later the fridge stopped cooling. Called Appliance Repair Guys the next day and had to follow a warranty process to get them back (it took 6 days). On 2nd service call Repair guy quoted a part for $294.94. Told them no. Called a local applicance company who quoted $114.00 for the same part and a $60 service call plus $25 labour. Wow, what a horrible experience with Appliance Repair Guys. Never again.

Prior to this incident I hired an independent service guy who claimed my dishwasher had a blockage and he had fixed it. Claimed it was repaired. I paid $40 and he left. I called him back because it was not fixed at all. He returned and said he needed to investigate and return a third time. Then he just disappeared and is non responsive.
I then called the appliance repair guys. They said it was $80 for call and this would be deducted from cost of repair. Guy came and said he needed to inspect drainage system. He said it would cost $280. I told him I only paid $399 for the [redacted] dishwasher. This service cost made no sense to move ahead with...plus it was not a repair but rather proposed inspection which he refused to identify how long it would take upon being asked. I was tempted into it thinking well.... I already need to pay $80 if I refuse his proposed service . He said it was not possible I paid so little for the unit. I produced my invoice. He was shocked. I was desperate for repair as I'm a business owner with house of 4 people and was for several weeks washing dishes by hand morning and night. So I signed.
About 30 minutes later he asked me to view what he claimed was a 1/4" chunk of white porcelain that had been "supposedly" trapped in the drain pipe. Ironically. I don't own any white dishes and never have.
He did a demo for 39 seconds allowing it to fill a cup on top shelf stating this is how he proves it works now. He said He needed my signature confirming I acknowledge the unit works in response to this demo.
He then charged me 280 plus tax...$316 and stated that if it does not work when I try to use it for real he will need to return and replace the drain pump at a cost of $274.74 since he could see it was already broken but he felt he had made adjustments necessary (adjusting impeller placement which he claimed mystery white chip of porcelain had moved) for it to run well despite this need to replace broken parts.
My husband was furious when I showed him the bill. I had now paid near the purchase price to repair the unit. Upon first cycle it still didn't work properly. In addition when I opened the door the base face plate and its baseboard cover now pop off and land on the floor. He did not fasten it and the screws are nowhere to be found. [redacted].
I now have read hundreds of reviews by victims of this business. Most being charge exactly same prices as me regardless of the appliance or "claimed" repair. This should not be legal. This company charged me $316 for less than one hour of service and opted not to replace a part they claim is broken until a later date for Mor money.
The total cost will be $590 for an appliance worth $399 please do something. This is absolute corrupt blackmail.

[redacted] I made a mistake of calling them without reading the reviews. [redacted]. My dishwasher was not draining and I told the lady when I called that I had put a jay cloth in the dishwasher and it was stuck somewhere and that is the reason I think the water was not draining. Of course first of all on their website they advertise 24/7 service -that is not true at all. After going back and forth on the appointment I finally had the technician arrive today at 7:45 am. I told him what the issue was but he insisted that was not the problem. He told me that what he could see was that the 2 pumps were not working properly He told me that to repair the pumps it would cost $280 and if there was any part damaged that would be extra. He made me sign a contract for the $280 before he touched the appliance. He opened up everything and VOILA! the jay cloth was lodged and entwined in the blade which he removed and fitted all the parts back asked me to run a cylce with the dishwashing tablet which he said would take out any residue that was left inside. This in all took 15 mins. When he was done he gave me an invoice for $280 and when I questioned him that he didnot even repair the pumps or anything else why would I have to pay this amount, he said this was their service fee and that he had serviced the machine and the pump. I had to pay it as I had agreed to it. I had stood there the whole time he was there and I did not see him do anything other than remove the jay cloth. [redacted]. They use scare tactics by telling you that something is terribly wrong with the appliance and then make you sign the contract which they bind you to. BEWARE of this company. I would NOT recommend them to anyone.
