Review: On approximately 1/14/2014 I placed an order with Ares for 2 lower receivers. Although the items were not in stock and were back ordered, my credit card was charged immediately in the amount of $170. To date no product has been received and emails have been unanswered.Desired Settlement: Total refund to credit card.

Review: I ordered several of the same product from Ares Armor. When I placed the order it said they were in stock and this was the first week of January. Three weeks later I found my order was on back order, but I had already been charged for the items. I tried to get info on how long my wait would be, I never received an answer by email, or phone when I left messages. After another month I was told it was back ordered, which I already knew. I then asked after a few months of waiting to have my order canceled and get my money back, no response. About a month ago I again asked for my money back and to cancel the order. I got a response this time, they said that the order was on the way and there was a mistake at the factory in India. I said I don't care I just want my money back. They said they will put in the request. I waited 2 more weeks and still nothing, so I sent another email. They responded with another email saying they are having fraud problems and want a bunch of information from me. That was two weeks ago from today, July 29, 2013, I have still not had my order canceled or got my money back.Desired Settlement: amount paid in full

Review: August 27th ,2014 at 8am I was sent an e-mail from Ares Armor in it stating: "Hi, just a reminder that you're receiving this email because you have expressed an interest in Ares Armor." However, I have never heard of this company until I received that e-mail and I am an anti-gun person. I called customer service and explained this issue, they gave me an e-mail address of [email protected]. I sent this message in an e-mail August 27th, 2014 at 10:07am: "Dear Ares Armor, I never, ever have subscribed to your mailing list, nor ever heard of

your company until you sent me an e-mail today. I am an anti-gun person who has never owned a gun, nor do I ever desire to. How did you get my e-mail? Don't you have a security e-mail confirmation method so real subscribers subscribe who want to? I never subscribed but received an e-mail from you. I want to get at the root of this issue, as it is apparent you have a poor security system for e-mail subscribers as I never subscribed. Please e-mail me back and respond to my questions. Thank you." Instead, an attorney responded and did not answer any of my questions, but stated: "Ms. J[redacted],I represent Ares Armor.Thank you for your email. You will not receive any other emails to the address j[redacted]. Sorry for your inconvenience. Regards,S[redacted] A. M[redacted]." [*=I made anonymous personal information]Desired Settlement: I would like an e-mail response from Ares Armor or their representative specifically outlying my questions I asked in a previous e-mail, here are my questions I would like answered below: "Dear Ares Armor, I never, ever have subscribed to your mailing list, nor ever heard of your company until you sent me an e-mail today. I am an anti-gun person who has never owned a gun, nor do I ever desire to. How did you get my e-mail? Don't you have a security e-mail confirmation method so real subscribers subscribe who want to? We collect email address from many sources on the internet. Some of these sources are political websites and petitions etc, one example of this would be http://senatorfeinstein.com.

Our emails comply with legal standards such as the CAN-SPAM Act, these requirements may be viewed at the following site: http://www.business.ftc.gov/documents/bus61-can-spam-act-compliance-guide-busine... />
We have completely fulfilled our obligated requirement to remove Miss [redacted] from our list and ensure that her email address has been listed as “DO NOT MAIL.” She will never receive communication from us again.

Miss [redacted] is not a customer of ours and has never actually placed an order with our company. In our view the situation has been resolved as Miss [redacted] request to be removed was honored within the legal timeframes required. She differs from us in political views and we do not wish any further communication with her. It is unfortunate that she received an email from us in the first place however that malady has been cured.

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

The Ares Armor business has not cured their malady and sent me another unwanted advertisement spam e-mail to my same e-mail address today, 9/13/14 at 11:06am Pacific Standard time. I don't feel that how they obtain e-mail addresses with their marketing team is a good policy of theirs as I am someone who has never been a customer or ever at all and having no interest in any of their consumer goods. In addition, they obviously did not put me on their do not e-mail/contact list as they said they did. I have never in my life seen a business practice this way.

Regards,

Response:

This message is in regard to a complaint submitted to the Revdex.com about your business on 8/27/2014 4:03:53 PM by [redacted] . This complaint was assigned ID [redacted].

I wrote a rather poignant response to Miss [redacted] last complaint. I was immediately humbled from my hubris and am now in the embarrassing situation of admitting that I was incorrect in my response.

One of our employee’s made a clerical error and uploaded the wrong list into our system. This error caused Miss [redacted] to receive yet another email from our company. I have severely reprimanded this employee in writing and this reprimand has been placed in this employee’s file. I do not wish to terminate this employee as this is the first oversight that she has made of this severity and she is the wife of a Marine who has 3 children. If Miss [redacted] feels that a more heavy handed course of action should be taken I am open to suggestion.

I have inspected the file and the “list” in our email system and have personally ensured that another email will NEVER be sent to Miss [redacted]. I am completely humiliated that this mistake happened directly after my overly confident response was sent through the Revdex.com.

With a newly learned humility,

Review: Approximately 6 months ago I went into this business to purchase a rifle. They said they didn't have them in stock but I would receive mine in about 3 months. I agreed to the wait period and paid them $900 for the product. After all this time they keep telling me to wait longer. And after reading over 10 [redacted] reviews of people with the same issue ([redacted]) I am concerned they are not even providing anyone with the product we have paid for. All I want is a refund yet they say I can't get one for reasons I do not know. They lied about the waiting period I would be facing and as a result I don't want the product anymore and would just like my money back. They never respond to e-mails or phone calls and I am tired of it. I was planning on doing a lot of business with them in the future initially but now I never will. I believe going to small claims court for a refund on a product/service I never even received is ridiculous so I would like to take this route first. I believe they may be stealing from "customers" by making sales that they can't even fulfill.Desired Settlement: I hope to receive a full refund for the products that I am currently waiting to receive and have them cancel my order.

Review: I purchased an item from Ares Armor with a specific description. I revived the goods but they're were not as described on their web page. When I brought it to their attention via email they requested photos. After confirming I had the incorrect item they asked me to return said item to swap it for the correct item. Once they received the return they called me and said I received what I asked for after saying the complete opposite. Obviously they couldn't provide that I purchased so I asked for a refund with no answer. Now I can't reach anyone by phone or email.Desired Settlement: I would like a full refund because now I don't have a replacement or what they sent me that was incorrect.

Review: I ordered 3 AR lowers, 3 standard parts kits, and 1 80% lower finishing jig. I understand the items are backordered and yes I had to prepay, but I have written these people 3 times and called twice and have gotten no contact back from them. (all these items cost a grand total of 614.88) I also have checked their website and part of my order shows as being in stock, but I have received nothing. I have bought other items from them with no problem. These particular items I have not received were my first order, they were ordered 4-11-2013 I sent a cashiers check for the 614.88 the morning of 4-12-2013 and have heard nothing. Please help.Desired Settlement: I would like to have them call me. I would like to change the order if I could. If not then I would like a refund.

Review: Order # [redacted]

Hello,

In August of 2012 I placed an order for the item Rudius 1911. This preorder amounted to $109.95. I have not received the item, nor have I heard back from Ares Armor regarding when I could expect it. At the time I placed my order, delivery was estimated at approximately 2-3 months. I have been disappointed in the service provided by the company so far, as another order was damaged and had missing items I continually had to call Ares Armor to finally obtain. Even so, I decided to go ahead with my other purchase, as it appeared to be a quality product and an interesting project. I understand the current business climate is not ideal for this industry and demand has skyrocketed, however I was a loyal paying customer before the surge in demand and have not seen anything to show for it. I would like a refund for the total of $109.95, as it has been about 16 months since I placed the order already and I have not received anything.Desired Settlement: I wish to have the amount of my preorder deposit credited back to my credit card for non receipt of the product and no response from the company when I inquired about this multiple times.

Review: I received the replacement upper today (Saturday the 6thof December). Upon inspection I found several issues, 2 of which are critical to the use of the upper on an AR build.

1. Picture 1 shows a long gouge inside the barrel breech mount area. This will cause issues in headspace which is a critical task in building ARs. (PIC 1)

2. Picture 2 shows possible cracking, same as the returned upper, again this is a critical area of the upper (PIC 2).

3. Picture 3 shows a dent into the forward assist portion of the upper, cosmetic blemish (PIC 3).

4. Picture 4 shows that this upper has T Marks. (PIC 4).

I will not risk building an AR with this upper because of the critical areas, so I do not whish to have this upper replaced.

I will require a return label and a full refund.

The following is the transcript back and forth from the first defective item:

In reference to ORD[redacted]:

I received my order of 2 AR15 Upper receivers. Upon inspection of the receivers I noticed that one of the 2 receivers has multiple blems and is possibly cracked at the front where the barrel and barrel nut get installed. Please see attached pictures FYSA.

I will require a return label for the defective upper and a full refund plus partial shipping as I would not have ordered just one receiver.

Please advise at your earliest convenience,

I have more but the form only allows so much to be input.Desired Settlement: I request a return shipping label and full refund plus shipping. I have pictures of both the 1st and 2nd item shipped. I have sent them numerious emails requesting customer service and added notes to my "help ticket" in hopes of getting someone to respond. I called this morning and was put on hold, then later an automated voice said mailbox was full and disconnected me. I emailed customer service with the information from avobe and added pictures and the email came back undeliverable. The items were not marked as blemished, they were advertised as brand new but pictures clearly show that they both are blems. I paid 39.99 plus 10 dollars for shipping.

the item was delivered on the 22nd of December, see attached documents and copy pasted email below. However to date I have not received a full refund. So although I am accepting this action I am not satisfied with the handling of this issue from Ares Armor.

Review: 09-03-2013

On January 25th 2013 I ordered 2 AR 80% lower receivers. At the time there was a notice that they was out of stock and could not guarantee a delivery date. I knew this going in and accepted it. I periodically sent email’s asking for updates. I was not to concern knowing that the firearm industry was kodic at the time. Back in march I received an email stating that I would receive my parts in about 6 weeks but they never came. In the past month I tried repeatly to get an answer from Ares Armor but no response. In August I decided this has gone on long enough. I was trying to settle this without involving the Revdex.com but Ares Armor would not even reply. At one point I had to create a new log in username and password. The old one disappeared. At the time of this complaint there is 121 parts in stock. Below are privies emails.

I am normally a patent person, but when I ask for a little info on where my order stands and I get nothing, it’s not like I bother you every month. Now it’s time to do something.

8 months is long enough. Send me my parts and don’t send me some out of spec parts. I’m a toolmaker with prints and I will check them! I hope this can be resolved without having to take it to the next level.

8-22-2013

I’m getting tired of this whole [redacted] deal. In January I ordered 2 80% lowers finely in March I get an email from [redacted] saying 6 more weeks. But nothing since I have sent email straight up, I have done reply to his in March, and I did one with your contact us page (because I could not log in) but still nothing. I registered when I ordered my parts but had to reregister to send this. I know you were covered up with orders so I have been trying to be cool about it but know I’m starting to lose it. I WANT MY [redacted] PARTS! 8 months is long enough!

8-26-2013

Okay this [redacted] is over I just checked and according to your web site you have 158 80% lower receivers in stock, and I want my parts. I have tried several times to get info from you but nothing. I tried not doing it this way but I’m tired of being ignored. If I don’t hear anything back by the end of the week on Tuesday the 3rd I start with the Revdex.com. From the looks of things that is what somebody has to do to get treated right.Desired Settlement: I want my parts!!!

Review: The product I bought was not as it was described and depicted. They said the product I received is how they all are, which is not how they advertised it. It was the 308 Ares Breath muzzle brake.Desired Settlement: Receive the product as it is advertised. If that's not possible then change the advertisement to meet what they are actually selling

Jackie, This customer originally emailed us Jan 8th. Our pictures came out shiny and the customer thought he would receive a shiny product. The finish on the product is not shiny. Our CSR responded to the customer on Jan 12th stating that is he was not happy he could returnthe product for store credit or full refund. Customer decided to keep it. We were not aware of him filing a complaint with you.We since then changed the photos online and the customer emailed in again on March 2nd, saying thank you for changing the pictures online. Review: I purchased a 80% 1911 rudius frame back on 12/15/12 and still have not received the merchandise that I already paid for and it is now 04/25/13 with nothing in my hands. Lack of honest communication, one way phone tag with no call backs and updates that never meet the scheduled time given. I am a patient person but for the past few months been told "A few more weeks and we'll call" and nothing. Takes peoples money but never provide merchandise promised.Desired Settlement: I am still waiting for the rudius 1911 frame I ordered if not I want a refund of my money

Review: I placed my order on 1/16/2013. Immidiately after I placed the order my debit card was charged. I contacted the business in February to check the status of my order, on 2/27/2013 I received a response stating waiting for stock. I sent a follow up email each month there after with no response. After five months of no product and no communication from the business I decided to escalate the issue to the Revdex.com.Desired Settlement: I would like my merchandise and a partial refund considering the length of time and effort I have had to go through to receive a resolution.

Review: I ordered a BA AR-15 rifle kit and paid $1,181.06 upfront and was told the wait time would be approximately six months. It has now been 320 days and I still do not have my product. I have called at least 20 times and nobody ever answers the phone. I have emailed [redacted] and [redacted] multiple times and am always told they will ship it out soon. I will even come pick it up at the store so they don't have to ship it. on 6/10/13 [redacted] responded to my email "We can get you everything but the upper receiver. They are en-route to us now" that was six months ago and I still don't have the product. On 10/21/13 [redacted] responded to another email I sent. [redacted] said "Just received the shipment we have been waiting for on uppers so we will ship it out" That was 50 days ago and I have received nothing. All I want is what I have already paid for and wait a year to receive. If you can't deliver give me my money back.Desired Settlement: I will accept a refund or immediately allow me to pick up everything I have already paid for.

Review: On 25 March 2013 I placed an order with Ares Armor for $1334.90, which was immediately charged to my credit card and confirmed by them by email that I purchased the following: 80 Percent AR-15 Jig, Delivery Method: Standard Carrier (Pending Shipment), Quantity: 1, Subtotal: $125.00; The Blue Collar BA (Bad As) Kit, Delivery Method: Standard Carrier (Pending Shipment), Quantity: 1, Subtotal: $1,099.95; EFFIN-A Compensator 5.56, Color: Black, Delivery Method: Standard Carrier (Pending Shipment), Quantity: 1, Subtotal: $99.95. I received no shipping status, so on 5 April 2013 I emailed Ares Armor stating: " I looked at the backorder update you posted on your website. However, when I ordered my kit the website did not advertise a backlog for the AR-15 jig, the Blue Collar BA or the EFFIN-A compensator. I understand that the logistics chain and updating your website are probably all out of whack due to the high demand volume for your products, nevertheless, could you give me some idea when my order will be fulfilled? Also, in my original order I asked: "Is the BA lower receiver anodized? Please let me know if i'm missing any parts jigs to complete the tooling and final assembly--I will be attending an armorer course starting 20 May and would like to do this as my project. For the Rudius 1911 80% kit--my understanding is that you are backlogged, so I did not order it. Please inform me if I misunderstood your webpage posting." That same day, 5 April 2013, I received the following response: "We have had a blanket out of stock notification on our website since December stating that we were out of stock of EVERYTHING. The only thing I am currently able to ship out to you is the EFFIN-A. The lower is not anodized in the kit." I replied on 6 April 2013: "Thanks for getting back to me on the backlog and lower. I leave 18 May for my armourer/gunsmithing course. Is there any possibility that the kit will be here by then?" NO FURTHER STATUS COMMUNICATION! NO UPDATES ON ARES ARMOR WEBSITEDesired Settlement: I would prefer to have a shipment in the next week or two of the original order, if Ares Armor can not do this, then I would like a full refund. When I placed the original order I informed them that the kit was for an gunsmithing course I start on 20 Mayif the kit is not available for the course it loses most of its value since I can build an AR-15 at my own leisure afterwards.
