Response:

Our records reflect that on February 18, 2015 our representative spoke with the consumer and confirmed the agreement. Also, written confirmation was provided as requested on that same date. We certainly regret that the consumer was unable to make contact with our office and appreciate her making us aware of her concerns. Thank you for the opportunity to respond to the Revdex.com.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution would be satisfactory to me. I will wait for the business to perform this action and, if it does, will consider this complaint resolved.

Regards,

[redacted]

I asked them to remove an account from my credit file. They told me that I would have to call another collection agency since that's who was reporting the account even thought it listed Atlantic Credit as the owner of the account. When I called the other agency they told me that I would have to call Atlantic Credit back since they have the account! I just want this account off my credit file!

Review: This account was originally a [redacted] account. Was sold the Atlantic, account paid in full December 2013. July 2014, we discovered that [redacted] was still listed as a second mortgage on the house by our home owners. I contacted [redacted] who told meI must talk to Atlantic, so I did. Multiple messages left, no return calls. I finally reached a person, [redacted], very rude. In August I finally recieved a letter showing account paid I full. Forwarded to insurance company, was told by them that they need to be notified directly from [redacted] told me they can't talk to me and need to hear fromAtlantic. It is now October 2014, I call Atlanitc approximately once a week and always have to leave messages. No return calls. Finally last week, I actually got a person on the phone. [redacted] told me they never notify original account holder debt is pai, and transferred me to [redacted] refuses to send the information to [redacted], she told me that she had asked someone to research to see if he can help. I asked for this persons name, she refused to give it and said, "You are dealing directly with me, understand." I asked to speak to her supervisor, she transferred me to a generic help desk voice mail. On Friday, November 7, 2014, [redacted] left a voice message. I attempted to call her back, 11/7/14, at approximately 11:25am, left her a message that I wanted her supervisor to call me. No response. I attempted to call again on 11/9/14, office was closed, left message I would like [redacted] supervisor to call me.Desired Settlement: I want them to contact [redacted] so that [redacted] can get released from my home owners policy as a second mortgage

Response:

Thank you for providing us with the consumer's complaint. Our records reflect that prior to receiving the complaint we had contacted the original creditor upon notification from the consumer and were advised that the Atlantic account at issue was a revolving non-real estate account. In addition, the firm handling the account on Atlantic's behalf provided the consumer with a letter stating that the account had been satisfied. On 11/11/14 a supervisor spoke with the consumer and it is our understanding that she is requesting additional documentation from her insurance company as to the specific [redacted] account at issue so that we may research further for her with the original creditor. We certainly regret the frustration that the consumer has experienced and we will be glad to try to assist her once we have any additional information.

Consumer

Response:

I have reviewed the response offer made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

I have been attempting to resolve this problem since July 2014. Atlantic did not address why phone calls were not returned or acknowledged. I advised [redacted] in July 2014, that the information was uncorrected to.type of loan. Atlantic did NIT contact me in regards to contact with original loan granted. I did not receive that until I contacted them November and was finally put in contact with [redacted] who stated she was a manager. I had requested contact from a manager beginning in July and was denied this. I am attempting to get original papers to resolve this. I have left additional messages for [redacted] (last week on two occasions) but no response....Resolution is that Atlantic contact [redacted] to advise this was paid in full. Atlantic gas refused to do this, was told "we don't have to nor will we" per [redacted] has also refused to notify [redacted] account US paid in full. This is only resolution acceptable. I also want to have acknowledgement from Atlantic as to why phone calls are not returned since July 2013.Epic fail on Atlantic's part

Business

Response:

Thank you for providing us with the consumer's follow up to our response. We have been in contact with the original creditor as to the account acquired by Atlantic and made them aware that the account has been resolved. The original creditor has again confirmed that the account acquired by Atlantic is not related to a mortgage. The original creditor will be able to look into the consumer's issue further as to the history of another account if she will contact them directly and not reference the account number of the Atlantic acquired account when calling. Again, we will be glad to forward any documentation that the consumer may have along to the original creditor to assist in the resolution for the consumer. We appreciate opportunity to respond to the Revdex.com.

Review: I have recently received a letter from, " [redacted].", who is a representative of Atlantic Credit & Finance, stating that we had a credit card debt we have to pay. I can assure this is an error, and abuse of my financial problem. This was once an issue with [redacted], N.A. which was once the original creditor, as I had a credit card fraud issue with them last year as someone stole my personal information and opened a credit card with [redacted]. During this process, I have submitted many fraudulent reports to the fraud protection branch of [redacted], and this problem should of been sorted out. Since then, I have stopped receiving harassing calls and letters from [redacted], so I should not be receiving any letters trying to collect any sort of debt from a sleazy organization.Desired Settlement: I wish to stop all the harassing calls and letters to me. I do not want to be charged a cent from these guys. Thank you

Response:

We have closed the account at issue in our system based on the consumer's claims of identity theft/fraud. In addition, we are mailing an Identity Theft Affidavit to the consumer which will allow us to further investigate their claims with the original creditor. We appreciate the opportunity to respond to the consumer as well as the Revdex.com and please feel free to contact us with any further questions.

Review: Atlantic Credit and Finance bought my debt for my Capital One Best Buy Credit Card. When I didn't pay them right away they sold my debt to Asset Acceptance on 3/2/2013. When I did mail my payment to Atlantic Credit and Finance on 4/26/2013 they debited my bank account. I also at the same time sent my payment to Asset Acceptance thinking it was a separate debt and it was the same one. When I have repeatedly called Atlantic Credit and Finance, they will not speak with me. I have left several messages (6) over the last three days for a supervisor by the name of [redacted] and yet to have any of them returned. I have spoken with [redacted] and she told me today that I needed to contact the other company for my money and she "was not going to tell me that again" and hung up on me. They collected on my account after it was sold and then it took them over a month (they said they mailed a payment over to asset acceptance on 5/30/2013 via fedex). Asset Acceptance has yet to receive the payment.Desired Settlement: I want my money back. All $1344.48 of it that they cashed when they had sold my account two months prior. They never should have collected on it.

Ms. [redacted] – thank you for providing us with a copy of the consumer’s complaint. The consumer’s payment information was received and processed on April 25, 2013 and funds were forwarded to Asset Acceptance, LLC, current owner of the account, on May 30, 2013. Response:

I have reviewed the response offer made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear I still have not received my money back. I am very upset that they hung up on me and told me not to contact them again. In ky eyes thisbis poor customer servoce and I dont believe that the customer should have to put up with it! They say that they record the phone conversations and someone needs to go back and listen to this recording. Along with talking to "[redacted]" the supervisor on why she doesnt return phone calls and/or answer her phone instead of sending everything to voicemail. Again, very poor business stamdards. I want them to respond to me and tell me exaclty where this money supposedly is. I even asked for a tracking number after they had said they sent it via fedex and they said there wasnt one. Regards,[redacted]

Review: This company calls 10-12 times a day from an unidentified number. Once call is answered, the representative will not identify themselves. Won't say where they are calling from, etc. The immediate response from the Rep is an immediate attack of the person answering the phone. The representative displayed threats, degrading remarks regarding the debit in question, telling me that I needed to call someone who could assist me with paying off this debt and they continued to request my banking information. The representative did all of the talking and wouldn't answer basic questions, Who are you? Who do you represent? The rep wanted me to immediately own the debt without providing appropriate details. A request was made by me for them to stop harassing me and since they wouldn't identify themselves then they needed to forward details about the debt to the address they had listed.

The representative was very rude and condescending throughout the entire conversation. I got fed up and hung up the phone.Desired Settlement: For Atlantic Credit & Finance, Inc to stop calling and harassing me and my family. They need to send information regarding the debt.

Response:

Thank you for providing us with a copy of the consumer's complaint. Upon receipt of the complaint, we changed the status of the account at issue in our system to Cease & Desist to comply with the consumer's request for no further calls from Atlantic. Our records reflect that our first notice was mailed to the consumer in early February at the address listed on the complaint which contained information as to the account. We have no indication of return mail to date. The account will be closed and returned by Atlantic to the current creditor, [redacted], along with a copy of the consumer's complaint for their records. Also, we regret that the consumer felt harassed as we do require our representatives to abide by all state and federal laws that apply to our business. We appreciate the opportunity to respond to the Revdex.com.

Review: I was told by my consumer credit management company, that a payment of over $19.00 was mailed on the 12-12-2014. Before the payment was mailed. Atlantic Credit tried to get me to make a payment over the phone and not send in payment. I called them today 12-22-2014. To make sure the account of $18.54 was paid in full and my credit report was updated. She said she has not receive the payment. And cannot wait until next week because the office will be closed and Monday will be to late.Desired Settlement: Credit my account and update my credit report. Plus no other retaliation relating to this issue.

Business

Response:

Thank you for providing us with a copy of the consumer's complaint. As of today's date, the payment has not been received from the consumer credit management company. We will continue to follow up with the company as to the payment and will provide the consumer with a letter once such has been received.

We appreciate the opportunity to respond to the Revdex.com.

Review: Atlantic Credit & Finance, Inc. called us about an outstanding debt on our [redacted] account, they didn't specify what it was for, or to what amount, and had asked how much we were willing to pay on it, which had lured me into the scheme and they came up with their plot to charge double on the product I disclaimed information about to them, claiming they were the collection agency through [redacted] after MUCH clarification and a couple representatives being swapped about to us. The entire call from them was very fishy, and told us that if we were to call [redacted], we would be redirected back to them. We did go ahead and call [redacted] and were told they had no affiliation and had not even heard of Atlantic Credit & Finance, and [redacted] itself will be handling the debt in question for the original price of the product. Thankfully I hadn't given them any of my personal information besides my e-mail, which they have sent a message to, and I will not be opening it OR its attachment they sent in it as well (Which I suspect of having spyware/Trojans to steal credit card information)Desired Settlement: I would like an investigation on their practices in this corporation, they seem clearly fraudulent and intent on stealing people's credit card information.

Business

Response:

Thank you for providing us with the consumer's complaint. After receiving the complaint, the consumer contacted us directly on 1/13/15 and indicated that she had investigated further and wanted to resolve the account with us. Accordingly, it would appear that the complaint resulted from a misunderstanding. Thank you for your assistance and we appreciate the opportunity to respond to the Revdex.com.

Review: Atlantic Credit and Finance apparently bought my debt for [redacted]). The "purchase" evidently took place in June 2014. I was never sent a dunning notice or contacted about the debt by this company. Months later, I was contacted by a completely different regarding this debt and immediately paid it. I only learned of this company (Atlantic) when I pulled my credit report and saw them listed. (Again, NEVER received any form of communication from them.) At this point, I called the company that I had paid for the debt ([redacted]) and told them that another company was trying to collect the debt that I had just paid to them and told them the name of the company as well. At no point did the representative from the other company admit that they were working on this companies behalf. As a matter of fact, they did the complete opposite and acted as if they had no knowledge of who the other company was and why they would be collecting the same debt. The only response I was given was that I would be getting a releif of debt and no other company could try to collect the debt. I directly asked, "so should I send this to the other company"??" and was told, you don't need to send them anything. The whole time, STILL acting as if the had no idea why this other companies name was popping up. When you have a company acting on your behalf, as a business you are responsible for they way that they represent you. To lie and be decietful, especially when asked a direct question, is extremely unethical.Desired Settlement: The desired outcome is for Atlantic Credit and finance to remove their entire tradeline from my credit reports and not reinsert it anytime in the future. Despite their unethical practices, they have been paid.

Business

Response:

The consumer's account at issue was acquired by Atlantic in June 2014 and placed at that time with [redacted] to handle on our behalf. [redacted] closed and returned the account to us as Settled on September 18, 2014. On September 22, 2014 we received an email from the consumer requesting validation of the debt and our verification letter was mailed on September 23, 2014 providing the account information as well as confirmation of the Settled status of the account. Also, on September 22, 2014 an update was sent to [redacted] to report the account as settled. We regret that the consumer feels that she was not provided with clarification by the agency handling the account on our behalf and we appreciate her making us aware of her concerns. If she has any further questions, she is welcome to contact us directly at ###-###-####.

Consumer

Response:

I have reviewed the response offer made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

There was no offer, just a response that "We regret that she feels this way". What a cop out and way to take no accountability for what transpired. To blatantly lie to someone when asked a direct question is bad business and extremely unethical and to just respond with a sorry you feel that way statement and not take a small step to rectify the situation when, in the end you got what you wanted, is dispicable. If you TRULY regret something, you attempt to make it right. I requested a small goodwill gesture that would make it right in my eyes and it was completely ignored.

Regards,

ATLANTIC CREDIT AND FINANCE INC. Filed fraudulent papers with my local court saying I had made arrangements with them for payments, and without any type of permission from myself or the courts withdrew monies from my bank account. They caused overdrafts on my account and I had to close my accounts.

Review: I'm submitting this regards to my 75 years old mother [redacted]. She made a payment in Feb.2015 to [redacted].My Mother received a letter last week stating that her account was sold to Atlantic Credit on Feb 27,2015 from [redacted] payments to [redacted]. My mom was paying them. On March 11,2015 at 7:17 a rep for the company Atlantic Credit Finance Corporation contacted my mom who is 75 years of age and had just been to the doctor because she was not feeling well called her trying to force her to make a payment. My mother stated that she did not have any money because she was on a fixed income and that she could not pay it. She had just sent [redacted] a payment in February. They just took over the account Feb.27, 2015 and have already started harassing her. The rep named [redacted] tied to persuade her to let her draft $25 from her account and my mom said no. My mother told her she was not supposed to give her that information over the phone. [redacted] told my mom that "SHE BETTER NOT HANG UP ON HER IF SHE DO SHE WILL BE IN WORSE TROUBLE THEN SHE ALREADY IS" So my mother did not hang up and continues to let the woman say what she had to say. My mom tried to tell Ms. [redacted] that she was sick and she had been to the doctor and that she did not feel well, to no avail. Ms. [redacted] would not listen. She was more concerned about obtaining her commission then my mom's health. My mom became nervous so my sister noticed and my mom started telling her what Ms. [redacted] was saying too her and all the things she had said. So [redacted] my sister gets on the phone and [redacted] tells her (my sister) that she has to get permission to talk from my mom to talk to her. My sister gives the phone back to my Mom to let [redacted] know that its ok to talk to my sister. But [redacted] starts back talking to my mom so my sister takes the phone and then [redacted] ask who is she speaking with and my sister says [redacted] and says I do not want to talk to you I want to talk to your Manager/Supervisor. Ms. [redacted] hangs up the phone on [redacted] calls back a second time and get a different rep. [redacted] request to speak to MS. [redacted]'s boss. The rep connects [redacted] with Ms. [redacted] instead of her boss. It must have been her friend. [redacted] hangs up on my sister again. [redacted] calls back the same rep answers the phone and pause for a minute because I ask for Ms. [redacted]'s boss. She must have laid the phone down because no one ever came to the phone. My sister used a different phone to call and they were closed.Desired Settlement: I would like a written apology to my Mother, and a outline of Training going forward to their debt collectors, so this does not happen to other Elderly Customers.

Regards,

Review: I entered into an agreement with this creditor to automatically withdrawal funds from my checking account beginning October 30, 2015. I was told at that time that if there were any changes that need to be made to let them know immediately. Since last week I been attempting to contact this creditor in order for them to stop with the automatic withdrawals because I have filed bankruptcy. I continuously get transferred, one time the person told me that she is the mail room clerk and doesnt know how to use the phone to transfer me back, the lady that took the payment plan told me she no longer has the account, I was told once (actually today) that the office was closed until noon, and when I called back at 1pm I was on hold for 15 minutes to be transferred to a general voicemail with no name. I have sent them an email message on their website as well. All together I have made five attempts to contact this creditor to have them not take a payment out my account. The next payment is due out my account on November 13. I've been calling them since last week over this.

It seems that they are readily available to take your money but non existent when you need to contact them for anything else.Desired Settlement: DO NOT take any money out my bank account on 11/13/15. Stop all collection activities against my [redacted] account. I have filed bankruptcy. If there is money taken out my account I demand a refund of the bank charges and will notify my bankruptcy attorney. I have logged all contact information and screenshot this complaint and the email attempt to you on your website.

They call from different numbers, but when I call them back, it's the same company. I don't know what they want/need, but I'm assuming it's to collect a debt. If that's the case, I want them to stop harassing me on the phone.Desired Settlement: I want them to stop contacting me now.

Regards,

Review: I received a call at my place of work from this company. The secretary comes down and says a debt collector is calling. From my knowledge, I do not owe any past due debt. I immediately call, and they asked me if I was born in 1988. I said no. They then asked the first three of my social security number. I told them. They said it wasn't me they were looking for.Desired Settlement: This is an embarrassment that they were able to call me at my work. How is this legal? I would think it would be required that they check to make sure the person they're calling is who they're after. I want to make sure my name is no longer affiliated, and they cannot contact me unless I truly owe a debt.

Business

Response:

Thank you for providing us with the consumer's complaint. Our records reflect that prior to receiving the complaint the telephone number for the consumer was marked in our system as an incorrect number. We certainly apologize for any inconvenience that the consumer may have experienced..We appreciate your assistance.

They called me about a credit card debt which they had acquired and wanted me to give them my bank information over the phone. I spoke to two different men and the conversation was almost an hour long. I finally hung up on them, after requesting several times for them to send me something in the mail. They did send me an email with an attachment, but I didn't open the attachment. They insisted on me taking the offer immediately and giving them my bank information.

Review: The company sold a debt that was discharged in a Chapter 7 bankruptcy (2005) to Midland Funding in December 2009. In September 2009 I filed a Chapter 13 in which Midland Funding was receiving payment from the Trustee on this discharged debt. *Note neither Atlantic nor Midland was listed on my original statement of creditors for repayment . I found the error in February 2013 on and itemized statement from the Chapter 13 Trustee and contacted my attorney ([redacted] Office). My attorney filed an objection to the claim, which the judge sustained and April 2013 the Trustee stop sending payments to the company. At this point they have collected over $10,000. I have called several times and have been advised that the refund takes time. They tell me that they have to go through the attorney for Atlantic Credit & Finance to get the refund back. It has been several months since they were advised of the issue and to this date there has been no resolution. My Chapter 13 has been discharged and I still have not received a refund. I was advised several times by Midland Funding that the situation will be escalated.Desired Settlement: Atlantic Credit & Finance needs to be held liable for taking payments on debt that has been discharged/collected is against the law.

Review: I continue to receive daily phone calls (often multiple times per day) from this company. No voice message is ever left. I returned the call, but they do not seem to realize that they are calling me. I asked them to stop calling me, but continue to get phone calls anyway. This business is calling my cell (a private number generally not disclosed to businesses).

Response:

I have reviewed the response offer made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

The law firm has attempted to negotiate with Atlantic Credit and Finance, but they have not responded to any of my offers. I have not heard from [redacted] and [redacted] for over a month. Their agent does not return phone calls. I am willing to negotiate a settlement via arbitration ASAP, but right now, Atlantic Credit has made no attempt to respond to the offers I have made through their legal agents, Furthermore, Atlantic Credit has now filed a law suit against me, after refusing to negotaiate at all, and certainly not negotiating in good faith.

I request that Atlantic Credit immediately withdraws their law suit, and being an acttive negotiation to settle the matter out of COURT.

Response:

To collect debt, Atlantic writes and calls a consumer. When and if such efforts fail, Atlantic employs a law firm in its outside legal network to sue the consumer in a court of competent jurisdiction. Our records show that an initial notice as to Atlantic’s purchase and/or assignment of the subject account was mailed to the consumer in October 2013; the consumer's receipt is presumed as there is record or indication of return mail. That initial written notice contained specific account information as well as disclosures required by any applicable law. Atlantic's representatives then attempted to reach the consumer by phone numerous times.

When its efforts to write and call failed and having received no written dispute or request for additional information from the consumer, Atlantic placed the account with the law New York firm of [redacted] & [redacted] in March 2014. Since the account currently is placed with [redacted] & [redacted], Atlantic must request, once again, that the consumer direct any questions and/or settlement offers to our outside legal counsel directly at ###-###-####.

The account was the subject of litigation pending in a New York state court at the time when the consumer raised his complaint with the Revdex.com. Your assistance in resolving the complaint is appreciated.

Response:

I have reviewed the response offer made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

It is one thing for Atlantic Credit to engage a law firm, but if (a) their law firm does not respond to ANY correspondence, and (b) Atlantic Credit refuses to counter all offers presented, then Atlantic, and by extension their attorneys are unnecessarily suing me.

I have asked their attorneys on over 6 occasions to respond, and have had no response by phone or by any other means. Atlantic is falsely representing that they have an interest in resolving this matter. If they have no interest in resolving the matter, then I find their use of the Courts a waste of the court's time, and that they have misrepresented themselves in writing.

Response:

We have spoken with [redacted] & [redacted] with regard to the consumer’s account as well as provided their office with a copy of the consumer’s rebuttal. The firm advises that they have tried to reach the consumer by telephone and that he can contact the following individual with their firm who can assist him: [redacted] at ###-###-####. If the consumer would like for us to provide further information to the Revdex.com we would ask that he complete and sign the attached Authorization form and return it to our office or to the Revdex.com.

Thank you once again for your assistance.

[redacted] & [redacted], Atlantic's attorneys have not returned 9 voicemails that I have left for them that requests their response and return phone call. This is unacceptable (and potentially illegal for a law firm, since I am representing myself pro se). I request that Atlantic remove withdraw their lawsuit, remove [redacted] & [redacted] as their attorneys, and initiate direct negotiations with me to settle this matter.
