Review: On 12/**/15 I purchased a 2013 VW Passat, it was too late to register the car. I told them I would pick it up in the morning and they aggressively insisted that I take it home that night, so they put a dealer plate on the car and said we trust you with our plate, it's ok. Because I could not drive two cars at the same time I insisted it stay there until the morning when it could be properly registered, the finance manager(Reggie Watkins) said it must go with you tonight and had his salesman follow me home with the car, I was going back in the morning at 8:30am to have it registered anyway. I then had to drive the salesman back to the dealership and then back home again! In the morning as I left to Atlantic Volkswagen the brakes were grinding, so upon arrival I met a manager Paul who told me it would be at least 1.5 hours, I reminded him I was told a half hour last night and he replied "[redacted]" I then told him the brakes are grinding and I would like them checked out. Paul then reminded me that the car was used and not perfect, I once again ask that the brakes be checked and reminded him that no car new or used should be sold with the brakes grinding. They gave me a car to use while mine was registered and the brakes were checked. About 3.5 hours later a call came in saying it was ready, at the dealer Paul handed me my keys asked for two signatures and walked away, I asked him if the brakes were checked and got a yup! Drove the car around a bit and went home still hearing the grinding I waited till the next day and called again, Paul was not happy to here from me again and told me to bring it in. I arrived at Atlantic Volkswagen again, at this point I don't think the car had been in my possession 24 total hours yet, Paul then lectured me on the fact that used cars have problems and that if everything was fixed perfectly I would not be able to afford it. I told him the brakes were not right and it should have been taken care of regardless of being new or used and that it was a safety issue. I hung around for 45 minutes waiting when a mechanic named Sam came out an told the service tech Joe R[redacted] That the rotors were pitted in the front and back and that the back ones were warped. Joe the tech then turned to me and said let's see what Paul says! Joe and Paul discussed it privately for about 15-20 minutes and the Paul walked over and said the back rotors need to be changed, but only the back ones and that he would not supply new brake pads. I told him and questioned the mechanic Sam and Tech Joe R[redacted] in front of Paul about the conversation, Joe R[redacted] then said Yes, he did recommend replacing both rotors and pads. Paul got angry and said you're lucky I'm even doing the rotors, I could refuse and you would have to pay out of pocket, I could say I'll split it with you and there's nothing you can do about it. So consider yourself lucky that I'm replacing them and you can pay for the new pads or put the used ones back on, the car is used anyways. I insisted that it all be done and stated it should have never been sold to me that way. I also reminded him that I had asked yesterday for him to check the brakes and he told me "[redacted]" I reminded him I'm busy too and that my time is just as valuable as his. Paul then took out his cell phone ignoring what I was saying and then walked away. I spoke briefly to Joe R[redacted] who could not believe what just happened and told him this is not right. A loaner car was given to me and off I went. Upon arriving home I called Capital One bank, whom the financing was done thru, spoke to a supervisor explained the situation, it was then escalated to another supervisor and I was advised to return the loaner and they would not be financing that car or any car with problems like that. I received one call stating my car was ready, the bank has spoken to the dealer and they are aware of the situation and that financing is no longer available.Desired Settlement: I am asking that this transaction be reversed by the Atlantic Volkswagen and all paper work be voided out, just as the bank has cancelled the financing do to the mechanical, service and management issues. I asking that the Revdex.com get involved to resolve this issue.

Review: On the morning of Sept ** 2013 I saw an advertisement in the Newsday newspaper for a 2013 Hyundai Sonata for the price of $13,995. When I went to look at the car with the idea to purchase the car I was told that the car had to be financed and that there was an additional finance charge associated with the sale. I told the dealer I was not interested because I wanted to buy the car without a loan and that the ad in the newspaper did not mention the requirement for financing through the dealer. When I was at the dealership I did not have the ad with me so I could not argue my case. When I returned home I read the ad again to see if I missed any fine print and there was no mention of the financing requirement. I called the dealer back to be told that I was right and I could purchase the car but it had to be financed but the finance charge would be waived and then I could pay the loan off as soon as I would like. I agreed to that deal and went back to the dealership. At this time I still have the original ad that was placed in the Newsday paper. When I went to the dealer [redacted] went over the deal for the car which included, price of the car ($13,995), tax ($1272), dealer prep for used cars($749),plus plates and registration ($220) for a total of $16,236.40. I agreed to this and remember signing the paper work for this. After waiting for over 2 hours in the show room and being told it should only be another couple of minutes many times I was lead into the finance office. When I went into the finance office I specifically told the [redacted] ([redacted] ) that I just wanted to purchase the car and no warranties or any other items. [redacted] then started with the paperwork and when I asked the interest rate [redacted] told me 8.2 % which I said forget it that is too high and I do not want to do the deal. [redacted] left the office to come back to tell me that he found a much better loan and that it had a lot of advantages. The loan would include a warranty and the rate was only 2.54% which I agreed to. Then [redacted] knew that I had been there very long and just wanted to close the deal and go home. This is when [redacted] said to me just initial this page and sign this page so that I can show my management that I at least offered you these programs and get you out of here quickly. Little did I know I was being misled and cheated. I, in no way, realized that I was being charged above and beyond the agreed price of the vehicle that was agreed upon with the salesman. [redacted] folded some papers and put them in a folder handed me the keys and said the deal is done and that I could go. I had no idea that the loan amount that set up with the bank was for the amount of $22,723. I found out that the loan amount was $22,723 when I received the bill from the bank to pay the monthly payment. As soon as I realized this I went to the folder that had the paper work in it and I did not see any contract or paperwork showing this figure of $22,723. I then went to the dealer and was told that I signed for all the additional items and that all the numbers add up. To this date I have no paperwork or any idea how this came about. I spoke to the Bank and requested a copy of the contract which I am still waiting for.Desired Settlement: Refund all the additional charges.

Review: I ordered paint for my car, I waited an extremely long time for it to get into my hands. I was told on several occasions they would notify me via phone call that never occurred! after not hearing from them for a long ridiculous amount of time I had to call them and they said it came in but forgot to call! after receiving the paint I had it installed onto my car for chipping and scratches. after it was installed the color was not a close match whatsoever so I brought the vehicle to them and showed them the mis-match the service maneger became irate disrespectful and down rite nasty to me. I asked them to look up the colors for that year and make they said they cant do that. I went home and on my computer found the correct color match on a chart of color swatches found an exact match to year and make and said look at what I was able to do at home in 5 mins. that you said could not be done. the manager became irate once again with me I had to leave before I almost did bodily harm to this gentlemen! problem has not been resolved. so I now have a tan car with silver spots all over it. what to do?Desired Settlement: want apology and color match rectified

Review: I am a new customer of volkswagen, On March [redacted] 2014 I purchased a 2006 nissan Altima from Atlantic Volkswagen in [redacted]. The [redacted] who his name is [redacted], was helping me out to get me into a car, he was looking through various cars and couldnt find one in my credit category , He has me waste my time come into the dealership and sit in there for about 3hrs a day with nobody checking on us or nothing just completley ignoring us just to go home with nothing. finally a few days later he calls me saying he has a 2006 nissan altima that he JUST GOT IN (meaning they did not evaluate the problems or nothing) so he sold me that vehicle, I did notice on the test drive it was a little shakey but I figured it shouldnt be a big problem and it would go away, Well little did I know that was only the beginning. A week after I purchase the vehicle, I check my bank account to see that they took $100.00 with out my consent . I call them and they do refund me my $100.00. The car still shaking and loud, then about a week after I notice that the left tire was making noise also so I take my car to the volkswagen service dept & they tell me nothing is wrong and they tell me to leave. The noise has gotten so loud I can barely drive it, I find out that it's the breaks and dangerous to drive on. The other day 04/**/14 I was driving and it was raining, I was making a turn into the parking lot of a mall and all the sudden the car turns off or like freezes up on me and the check engine light popped on. I had to sit there in the middle of the street for a minute and turn the car back on , very scary..I have taken my vehicle to the nissan & volkswagen service depts to have it checked on,and they will not check or do work without me paying out of pocket,I should not be responsible for paying out of pocket for my new car not even a month into having it.Desired Settlement: I want them to take care of the work it needs. Or give me another vehicle. I didnt want to have to contact the Revdex.com.But I deserve justice, They are a certified dealer and cant just throw a vehicle at somebody without fixing it up before selling it.

Sincerely,

Review: Financial manager price for a car is more then sales price. We purchased 2013 GTI VW on June **. Sales person [redacted] assisted us. We agreed on the price of new car and price on car that we wanted to trade-in. Than we have to wait for financial manager to sign the contract for more than 4 hours. By the time when he called us to his office we were tired of hours we spend in the dealership. Make the long story short, financial manager [redacted] added additional 2 thousand dollars to the price we agreed with sales person. We realized it after when we got a bank statement. This is not our first car but we never had experience like this. Now we tried to correct some mistakes and went to talk to him. He tried to bull us again with his explanation how it is works with banks when we takes a loan. Awful experience.Desired Settlement: I would like to get deference $2000 plus bank interest.

CUSTOMER IS MEETING WITH GENERAL MANAGER TONIGHT TO RESOLVE.

Consumer

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

First and foremost, the claim of the check being made the same day was certainly not during the time when we were present at the dealership so whether or not it really was is a questionable matter. No call was made or any form of contact received that a check is ready and waiting for us. Furthermore, [redacted] admitted that a mistake was made during processing by the financial manager which was the discrepancy between the agreed price with [redacted] and what was put on paper as additional charges, which were never noted during any point of the process. To fully resolve this roundabout way of dealing with things, we believe that the full mistake be fixed and thus refunded. This issue has gone on long enough and no contact by the dealership has been attempted aside from the third party communication through Revdex.com via forwarded emails, making the whole situation very uncomfortable.

Sincerely,

Response:

[redacted] SPOKE TO [redacted] YESTERDAY. THE CUSTOMER SAID THEY WANTED TO THINK ABOUT THE OFFER HE MADE.

After being told a price on a used auto, we went outside to think and figure finances. Returning to write the deal the price went up $800.00 being told we can not do it for the original price. We left; a little annoyed; a few days following we were contacted by a woman maybe the manager of sales. She inquired what occurred, I explained, and the next day we were contacted by the salesman Mr. K[redacted] offering us a new deal [still not the original]. We explained we were leaving on vacation and could not make it in but wanted the car. Being told leave a deposit on a credit card and hold the vehicle until our return, which we did. We call when we return to make final arrangement to meet our salesperson and are informed HE SOLD THE CAR. HUH?

We received no phone call to ask for more money for deposit, inform us of what they did NOTHING. What is a deposit for if it does nothing?

Spoke to a manager and was informed that is not policy [to take deposit] and the salesperson should have known. He has been there almost a year and had no knowledge of this?! Bottom line all the time, energy, negotiations, or Deposit meant nothing to the dealership. How sad customers mean nothing only the immediate dollar
