Auto Finance Center Reviews (49)

I purchased a vehicle from this dealership. I was told it was in excellent condition. I was also told if anything happens later on down the road they would take care of me. WELL three months later my engine started making a funny noise and the oil pressure light came on. I took it to a local dealership and was informed I have a bad engine and it needs to be replaced. I called Auto Finance center and was told they have to call corporate and they would call me back in two days. I have called them twice and no one will return my call. So now I am paying for a car I can not even drive. Do Not go to this place. They are a scam!!!!

Review: Purchased a car from them on 01/23/2015 . The company has fail to provide tags for the car. After calling them numerous times to inquiry about the status of my tags three days later . First I was told they would be delivered on Monday and the on Monday delivered on Monday 02/23/2015 to than be told on Monday we"re email you more temporary tag and bring tags when they come in from Maryland motor vehicle. Tag expired on 02/22/2015Desired Settlement: Delivery of order ( tags) and public notice that this company is un reparable.

Response:

Revdex.com spoke with the business. He said that the customer provided a check that bounced. They got back in contact with the customer but stated that she needed to pay with a cashiers check and needed to provided the inspection information because she lives in Maryland. This has since been resolved and the tags have been provided to her.

There scammers they sold me a newer [redacted] they said was in perfect condition inside and out after I bought the car [redacted] dealer told me it had a bad motor and transmission auto finance center said they would do the right thing and take care of me but once I called them back they have never return my calls they are ConMan and all they're doing is looking to rip you off

Review: Auto finance center sold me a vehicle with wrong size tires. It would not pass inspection because of that. I was never told bring the vehicle back to them for replacements, so I bought some myself. They would not refund me the money despite acknowledging that they did not inform me to bring the vehicle to them. They never told me that they would replace the tires.Desired Settlement: I would like to be refunded the $600 it costed me to buy new tires.

Business

Response:

Revdex.com spoke with a representative from the business who stated that he informed the customer he was not willing to pay for new tires to be put on the vehicle but offered the customer the ability to choose from the used tires he had available. The customer did not want used tires and elected to purchase new tires on their own, which the owner states he is not responsible for. He also stated that the car had a VA state inspection done prior to being sold to the customer in May. He stated that VA dealers are only responsible for VA state inspections, which vary from Maryland state inspections.

Review: I recently purchsed 2 used vehicles from this car dealership. One of the vehicles is covered under the factory warrenty and the other is not. However, the dealersip offers a 30 day warrenty on all vehicles that they sell.

2 weeks later, I attempted to have a few minor issues fixed/resolved with my vehicle: replace 2 bald tires, and replace busted speaker. The dealership agreed to replace these items. At the time that I brought my vehicle in for the tire replacement, the "check engine" light came on. At that time I was informed that there was another issue that needed to be addressed. I attempted to make several appointments to bring my car in for the repair which is where the unprofessional, rude and disrespectful behavior began.

Not only has my car not safe to drive, I have been yelled at, cursed at, hung up on and told that "I am not a priority to the dealership." Both my adult daughter and I have received this treatment. Of the 3 men that work in the front office I have been treated this way by 2 of them. It appears that the salesman has been making one committment and the office manager and another employee have been telling me that is not allowed.

At this point I want to return the car and get my down payment back, but then I am left without a car and have since sold my previous used car.

Understanding that used cars are "as is", the level of treatment and lack of service I have received is beyond acceptable.Desired Settlement: I wish for the "check engine" issue to be resolved and the promised speakers replaced in my vehicle in a timely manner and working around my schedule.

I also want to speak to the owner of the company. I was declined this request on two occassions when speaking with office manager.

Response:

Revdex.com spoke with [redacted] from the business. This vehicle was an "as-is" purchase but they did take the vehicle back from the customer to fix. The part they needed had to be ordered and it took a lot longer than expected. However, the vehicle is ready to be picked up and it is not costing the customer any money.

Response:

I have reviewed the offer and/or response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below. We were contacted today by the salesman advising us that the car was ready for pick up. We arranged to pick the car up after hours (as agreed on the phone) and that the dealership would leave the key in a location where we could access it (the same location where we initially left the key when we dropped the vehicle off). We were advised that we would need to sign a release form to pick up the car. We drove to dealership after work this evening and the car was not left for us, nor was the key or release form left. We contacted the salesman by cell phone, who then stated that he could not release the car until we have signed a release. He also stated that we had made arrangements that we had not. Not only did we waste time driving to pick up the car, but we are now having to leave work early again to try to get the car tomorrow. In my initial complaint, my request was 1) have the car repaired, and 2) speak with the owner. I now amend that and state, 1) fix the car and return it to us and 2) speak to the owner or a formal apology in writing to be provided to me. His employees have treated this customer, who purchased 2 vehicles, with such disrespect that I feel I deserve a phone call from the owner. The men in this office started out with saying, "anything for you and your mother" to contacting us on our cell phones for "personal" reason to lying to us, cussing and yelling at us and finally hanging up on us. I expect an apology!

Review: I purchased a used vehicle from this company. Although it had a Virginia state inspection sticker, it failed Maryland state inspection miserably. I had to pay $1500 in order for it to pass. I'll take the hit for that, I should have read the small print that stated "AS IS" / "SALVAGE." The car had a clean title, however, it had major body work done on the passenger side. In my possession, I have a signed document by the dealer stating that they owe me a fog light cover. I've called, text and sent pictures to the salesman about this, only to hear, "I'll take care of it" or" I thought we mailed that to you." It's been several months and they still continue to have excuses over sending me a $50 part. Again, I have a signed document from them. I have the text messages from the salesman and phone records.Desired Settlement: I had to purchase the part and have it installed. I'm request a refund check of $75.00 be mailed to me.

Response:

I have reviewed the offer made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution would be satisfactory to me. I will wait for the business to perform this action and, if it does, will consider this complaint resolved. If the company does not perform as promised I can get back to you at: [redacted]

Regards,

Review: The Vice President [redacted] and I have conversed about my automobile loan for the past year and a half. I recently got laid off and had to ask for a one-month deferment of the auto loan, until I could pay it back. [redacted] stated that a one-month deferment until August 30th, 2013 was completely fine, and that he would just add the missed payment of $358 onto the end of my loan. I recently acquired another job, and would have been able to pay a car payment on August 28th, 2013; 2 days before the loan deferment period ended. It is currently August 22nd, 2013 and a repossession agent showed up to take my car. Not only did [redacted] lie about the deferment, they are now trying to add charges and fees onto the payoff amount of the car ($3,242), in addition to having to pay off the repossession company. This is a blatant disregard of compassion for the public economy, and also a complete scam. The car is worth 5,000 on Kelley Blue Book, and the loan stated that I would have to pay $9,500; so, in essence I got turned upside down on the loan by these crooks.Desired Settlement: Currently paying off the amount as the car is required to work so I can survive. The problem is that it was a phone conversation so there is no proof of the conversation taking place. I simply misjudged and mistrusted a shady car salesman, but I strongly advise everyone NOT to buy a car from this place.

To Whom It May Concern: Attn Revdex.com

**. [redacted] purchased a 2006 Hyundai Sonata from our establishment on 04/26/2012. **. [redacted] was financing this vehicle through our BUY HERE PAY HERE program. **. [redacted]’s contract went past the 45 day marker of days overdue so the contract went up for repossession. (Company policy all vehicles as of 45 days late or more automatically go up for repossession.) When the vehicle was repossessed, the repossession company took proper inventory on the vehicle necessary, and the vehicle was then sent to storage. A 21 day letter was then sent out the next business day allowing **. [redacted] to either take possession of his belongings or reinstate the defaulted loan.

**. [redacted] and his father came into the office a few days later and rectified the issue. He is currently in possession of the vehicle and back on schedule. Thank you.

Sincerely,

Review: My car was repossessed by Auto Finance Center 4/14/14 and returned 5/12/14. My total was 1352. 4/28/14 I paid 600.00. I arrived at Auto Finance on 5/9/14 around 1pm and paid the remaining balance of 752.00 Kristina stated my car was not there but a storage facility in [redacted], VA after she told me 5/7 my car would be there when I came to pay the balance. I was told my car would be there on 5/10. I was given the run around all day on 5/10. Kristina stated the person who was to pick up my car had an emergency and the car would be there later in the day. I called back at 4:30 and my vehicle was still not there she said to give her 30 minutes and she would call me back. She did not I ended up calling at 5:30 and was informed by a gentleman that Kristina gave me the incorrect information and the storage place was only open Monday through Friday and the earliest I could get me car would be Monday. I told him that was not the information I was given he placed me on hold. Kristina came on the line and I relayed the information I was given to her. She said no, no, no let me call them and I'll call you back. She did and said I couldn't get it till Monday 5/12/14. When I got there on 5/12 my battery was dead and I noticed that the two front tires had dirt around the edge as if they were new used tires. The back had no dirt. There were receipts from a car wash on 4/18/14, a [redacted] receipt on 4/26/14, a [redacted] ATM receipt on 5/10/14 in [redacted], VA, a [redacted] bag, a [redacted] strawberry milk container, a [redacted] calling card, and tag from jewelry. I looked in my trunk and there were white markings all over the trunk as if someone had been hauling stuff in the trunk. I went in and spoke with Ryan who neither admitted or denied my car was driven asked me how to resolve I asked for gas he gave me 20.00. As of today my drivng record has an at fault accident on 5/1/14. I did not have my vehicle during that time.Desired Settlement: I want my driving record corrected as I was not in possession of the vehicle during the time of the accident. I want the balance of my car zero and a new car off their lot with no payment or at the same 300.00 I currently pay. This is very bad business. Who repossess' a car and lets someone drive it? And then report it to DMV as I had the car all along. The contact states I can get me car back until it is sold. I made an arrangement and kept it.

Review: COMPANY REPOSSED MY TRUCK DUE TO LAST PAYMENT BEING LATE,WITHOUT PRIOR NOTICE,AS WELL AS STOP TAKING PAYMENTS OFF CREDICT CARD THEY WAS AUTHORIZED TO TAKE PATMENTS FROM BI-WEEKLY OR MONTHY.WITH THAT BEING SAID THEY ARE NOW TRYING TO CHARGE ME 4 TIMES THE AMOUNT OWED TO FINALIZE THE SALE OF MY VEHICHLE. NOW WITH TRYING TO RESOLVE THE ISSUE & OFFER THEM HALF OF WHAT THEY ARE ASKING THE WILL NOT TALK TO ME OR AN AUTHORIZED REPRESENTATIVE, I BELIEVE THEY ARE WITHHODING MY TRUCK & TALKING TO ME SO I AM NOT ABLE TO GET MY VEHICLE BACK SO THEY CAN RESALE IT. THEY ALSO STATED I HAD 21 DAYS TO GET MY TRUCK BACKAND THEY WILL SEND ME A LETTER STATING WHAT I NEED TO DO, WHICH NOW HAS BEEN 14 AND I STILL HAVE NOT HAD ANY SORT OF COMMUNICATIONS WITH THE COMPANY BECAUSE EVRYTIME I CALL THEY SAY EVERYONE IS BUSY AND SOMEONE WILL CONTACT ME BACK.Desired Settlement: TO RESOLVE THE ISSUE BY RECEIVING MY VEHICLE BACK, I HAVE ONE PAYMENT LEFT,IF THAT AND WOULD LIKE TO PAY THAT AND MAYBE A TOWING FEE TO GET MY VEHICLE AND NOT A EXTRA 750$ I DO NOT BELIEVE SHOULD HAVE TO BE PAID BECAUSE IF I WAS NOTIFIED IN THE PROPER FORM I WOULD NOT HAVE OCCURRED THIS EXTRA FEE.
