Baker Electric Solar

I looked around quite a bit for the best price using quality materials. Baker's salesman was very personable and the engineer that was sent out to design my system knew his stuff. The office liaison, [redacted], has walked me through the process. So great price and good people. What more can you ask for?

Baker installed our 30 panel solar array 3 years ago, in May of 2011.
I researched Baker before I signed an agreement with them. A neighbor had a system installed by Baker before mine, and they were very satisfied.
I am extremely happy with my solar array. Baker did an outstanding and professional job, on time and on budget.
They even upgraded my main service panel to 200 amps.
DO NOT use a fly by night contractor or submit to high pressure sales tactics from other companies.
You cannot go wrong with Baker. I highly recommend them. They also later installed my 220 volt electric car charging unit. The mere fact that I had them back should tell you something.
Several of my friends have gone with Baker since, and they are all happy, too.

After researching this issue we’ve reached an agreement with the customer and have a contract to install additional solar on their home to accommodate their projected electrical needs.  It’s always Baker’s intention to be as forthright as possible when trying to estimate the energy needs of our customers.  When customers are adding multiple new electrical loads and not 100% certain about the amount of time those loads may be used, it’s very difficult to be 100% accurate in estimating system size.  We erred on the side of caution and originally sold this customer a smaller system than what they ended up needing after adding (and using) some of those new electrical loads.  We are now in clear agreement with the customer about what they can expect from their PV system and confident we’ve done everything we can to ensure the [redacted]/[redacted]s are satisfied with the service they’ve received. Sincerely,[redacted]Director of Operations

After several quotes and assessments of our needs, we went with Baker. From day 1, they were extremely professional and performed the job, which was quite large, in a clean and careful manner. Through Baker, we went with a pre-paid lease and are very happy. we would have no hesitation recommending them to our friends and family.

I'm making a 3 week + long story as short as possible. Our installation with Baker went well. Two weeks later (July 2nd) our solar had stopped generating. A week after (july8th) we finally see a technician from Solar Edge who was able to determine our inverter to be defective. Now in our third week, Baker sends a tech with some "cards" to be "replaced" which to no surprise did not regenerate the defective inverter. We will now wait until Monday to hear when they will approve the new inverter that the tech originally said we needed. As we now head in to what will inevitably be our fourth week without solar, Baker will continue to toss around protocol while our solar and electric bill continue to accrue during the hottest month of the year. Regardless of the outcome, this time frame we are dealing with in their trying to make a last ditch effort to repair defective equipment, is costing our family and their reputation.

This was an excellent company to work with. They were very information, not pushy and completed their work on schedule and very professionally.

Baker Electric and Solar is an awesome company. Their staff is very nice, easy to work with and keep everything professional. Baker offers very competitive pricing. The solar install was fast. It only took a day and a half to complete. The longest delay was city permitting and SDG&E cutting over to the grid which was completely out of their hands. Good Job!!!

Baker Electric Solar was very professional throughout the process. We were provided several options with the cost for each and there was no pressure to choose any of the options. It was all about what worked best for us. The installation was performed quickly and the workers were clean and kept the work place clean. When the city inspector came out he said "Baker Electric Solar does really good work" and I echo those sentiments.

The initial negotiations, the installation process, and the instructions on how to use the system were excellent. The people were helpful, knowledgeable, and responsive. However, during the first year various questions arose, such as why did the system not produce the amount of electricity I was told it would deliver. I called the person whose number I was given to call, and he did not return my call. Several emails went unanswered. My questions went unanswered. The only person I ever spoke to was the lady who answers their phone. Yet, in spite of this I still receive emails asking for referrals, and my responses all went unanswered. I had chosen Baker because of their reputation and the fact they had been in business a long time, but I am now very disappointed.
