July 5, 2017Dear [redacted],Apple Vacations regrets any inconveniences that [redacted]
and [redacted] encountered with their wedding/honeymoon package at the
[redacted] Resort in Jamaica.  Apple Vacations did contact the resort on their behalf and
were advised that [redacted]...

[redacted] did refund them directly $500.00, for
the cost of their wedding ceremony as compensation for the various issued they
complained about while they were at the resort. 
The “blood” stains on the sheets that they refer to is not blood but
rust spots that appear from the water used in the laundry.  The [redacted] felt that the
situation was resolved.  [redacted] did advise Apple Vacations that [redacted]
and [redacted] did receive the correct room category as booked but did extend
additional compensation in the form of a four (4) nights return hotel
complimentary stay at their resort. 
[redacted] and [redacted] were advised of this offer but they have advised they
do not wish to return.  The offer is
still valid if they change their minds.Apple Vacations also offered [redacted] and [redacted] $150.00 per
person vacation certificates which are valid on a future booking with us.Apple Vacations feels that fair compensation has been

time of her booking that the hotel assignment would be advised the day prior to
departure which was done.Regarding their return flight
cancellation, their [redacted] Airlines flight [redacted] scheduled to depart Punta Cana
for Houston on August 26, 2017 was cancelled due to Hurricane Harvey.  Due to this hurricane the Houston airport was
closed for several days and did not resume limited operations until the
afternoon of Wednesday, August 30, 2017.Apple Vacations did try to
assist all of our clients that were affected by cancelled flights.  Due to the volume of cancelled flights and
trying to rebook, [redacted] Airlines reservations were overloaded.  While our staff continued to try to contact
[redacted] Airlines we also asked our clients to try themselves to contact the
various airlines.  At no time did Apple
Vacations leave our clients stranded in resort. 
In addition to working with them to get other flights our staff also worked
with the hotels to offer our clients a distress rate since many had to remain
in resort.Apple Vacations recommends to
all of our clients that the purchase travel insurance, either with us or on
their own, to cover for additional expenses such as this.  Unfortunately our records indicate that [redacted]
and [redacted] did not purchase travel insurance with us.We have started the refund
process with [redacted] Airlines for their unused return flights but as they have
encountered many flight cancellations the time [redacted] for processing their
refunds will take longer than normal.  As
soon as Apple Vacations receives the refund from [redacted] Airlines we will refund
[redacted] and [redacted].Thank you for your

this regarding this tour.We do understand how upsetting it must have been for
[redacted] and [redacted] in having difficulties in locating the various hotels in a
non-familiar country.  We do appreciate
their feedback which we are sharing with our Destination Management Company for

I'm sending you proof of my health problems in 2014.  I had  a cardioversion, where they put pads on your chest and "jolt" you with electricity to get your heart back in rhythm.  I've had this done twice.  I have a-fib or an irregular heartbeat, so going on a vacation was not on my mind at this time.  Since then, I have had very high blood pressure and 2 stents put in my heart.  When my wife, [redacted], tried to explain this to Betsy B[redacted], Senior Manager of Customer Care at Apple on the phone, she said, "It doesn't matter", and hung up on her.  We have booked 7 trips with Apple over the years, We have referred all of our friends and relatives to Apple.  Basically, I feel that they are "stealing" my $2100 plus dollars.  Maybe a simple email or postcard to remind us that our time was about to expire would have been in order. Like I said, with being in the hospital several times, a vacation was the last thing on my mind. It is unethical to just keep our money.  We would either like a refund, or better yet, renew our travel vouchers.  We've already paid for the trip.  Just don't keep our money.  We would also be interested in possible purchasing more time to extend our trip, but they are unwilling to work with us.Also, I am e-mailing you the documents under separate cover.Thanks for your help.  I appreciate it.Sincerely,[redacted]

I am rejecting this response because: Apple vacations has still yet to justify, in five separate responses, exactly how the [redacted] rates as a six GOLDEN apple property. The [redacted] is NOT on the beach (Betsy, you don't have to reply with your standard form letter quote of  "surrounded by mangroves, freshwater wells, the most authentic fauna etc etc etc...we get it) Two restaurants that are impossible to get reservations at...unless you want to eat dinner at 4pm or 1030pmOne buffet restaurantOne bar... Which to boot is un-air conditioned (the [redacted]s only bar is an un air conditioned, outdoor bar in the hot humid Mexican jungle...6 GOLDEN APPLES...Really? Sweating, being bitten by mosquitoes while having a drink...This is an "Exceptional standard of service and quality ") A 15-25mim trolley ride to the beach...luxurious...? Absolutely no other "amenities...zeroIf you want anything other than a swimming pool that's it, there is nothing else at the [redacted], you must travel to other family friendly Bahia properties. Apples description of their Adults only packages never ever said or have on their website that there will be hotels nearby that do permit children or that the beach area will have children as well. We selected an adults only package and were never told their might or there could be children.  Apples six apple, not six golden apple, just six red apple rating criteria/description: "A luxurious resort offering the highest standards and widest variety of dining and amenities "Two restaurants, & one buffet is the widest dining variety? And as far as amenities, the [redacted] doesn't even have an on site fitness center The [redacted] meets zero of the criteria to be a six apple hotel yet alone a six golden apple rating.And as far as us selecting a six red apple adults only vacation and being "upgraded"to a six golden apple adults only package, there are absolutely NO six red apple adults only [redacted] hotels in Apples portfolio....ZERO, so that is an inaccurate point
Apples own website description of Apples Vacations makes your Vacation Dreams A Reality states that "Apple Vacations offer the widest selection of BEACH vacations under the sun at the best prices" no where on their website mentions anything about jungle hotel vacations 20 minutes from the beach via trolleys. Put in your adults only [redacted] square deal description that you could end up in the jungle, with a 20 minute trolley ride to the beach and see how many customers would sign up for it...

October 11, 2016Dear [redacted],Apple Vacations has received your communication regarding a complaint you received from [redacted] regarding his family Cancun vacation.We did receive a complaint from [redacted] directly and reviewed his concerns with the [redacted] Resort....

 The resort has advised that due to work by the local energy provider power was out to the resort several hours during their stay.  As this was regulated by the local energy provider the resort did not have control over this situation.  A copy of the resort’s reply to Apple Vacations is attached, which we did forward to [redacted].  The [redacted] Resort did offer them some compensation during their stay, including reservations at their [redacted] dinner and complimentary WIFI service.  The resort has also offered them a complimentary Ocean View upgrade for their next stay.Apple Vacations offered them vacation certificates, $100.00 per person for [redacted] and [redacted] and $75.00 per person for [redacted] and [redacted], towards another Apple Vacations booking and are valid for one year from date of issue.As Apple Vacations values [redacted] and his family as loyal clients we will offer to convert the value of the vacation certificates to cash and refund $450.00.  This offer will be sent to [redacted] and if he accepts will be processed once our standard compensation form is signed by him.We feel that this is adequate compensation and thank you for your consideration.Sincerely yours,Apple VacationsBetsy B.Manager, Customer Care Department
