Hi there, Thank you for reaching outWe're sorry to hear about the frustrating experience you've had with this projectWe've reached out to this creator to remind them of their obligations, as well as our expectations regarding communicationWe're sorry they haven't yet responded to you and other members of their backer communityThat said, it's important to remember that creators run projects on Kickstarter for ideas that they care deeply aboutIn cases where they run into roadblocks or are busy working on their projects, they might not be aware of the best ways to keep in touch with their communityWe do our best to try and help creators when they run into these situationsWe set up a resource page of services to help with project completion, and try and communicate backer sentiment when we hear it from our communityUltimately, creators are responsible for their own behavior — from communication and engagement to fulfillmentA big part of Kickstarter’s mission is to support creative freedom and independence; we don’t step into the actual creative process itselfWe’d encourage you to keep reaching out to the creator to ask for an update, and stress that even a short note that they’re still working on it would be preferable to silenceIf you’ve already tried that and haven’t received a response through Kickstarter messaging, you might want to consider reaching out through other channels such as a creator’s own website, where availableThanks for being a thoughtful backer and part of the Kickstarter communityWe hope you hear more from this creator soonBest,Kickstarter

As this user mentions in his initial message, he lent his support to the project through the [redacted] websiteThe only way for a user to be recognized as a backer on Kickstarter is if they pledge through our website while a project is liveIf a user decides to send a payment to a project creator directly through [redacted] there is no record of the transaction with Kickstarter, and we aren't able to provide support for transactions completed outside of our platformFor specific questions on how off-site contribution will be handled, the user will need to reach out to the creator directly

Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted] , and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because: The projects creator is unable to fulfill the reward as promised The meet and greet did not occur as stated, one speaker arrived damaged and both do not work properly I was unable to get this resolved as the company seems to have gone under They do not answer emails, corporate or personal and their website is no longer functional Per section of Kickstarter's terms of service the creator is supposed to fulfill their promise, however in their absence, if Kickstarter will not refund my money I will be forced to take legal action against Kickstarter In order for the Revdex.com to appropriately process your response, you MUST answer the question above Sincerely, [redacted]

Hi there, We hate more than anything when a project doesn't meet expectations, is heavily delayed, or doesn't come to fruitionAllowing creators to take risks and attempt to bring something new to life is the backbone of what we doHowever, we also understand that there is an inherent level of risk in any creation processKickstarter is built around minimizing that risk through all-or-nothing funding, which allows the collective voice of the people to decide which projects reach their goalOn our end, we review projects, uphold our rules ( [redacted] ), practice careful governance, and use anti-fraud filteringThe foundation of the entire system, however, is the collective wisdom of the people who back projectsStill, despite a creator's best efforts, some projects won't always come together as plannedIn these situations we make ourselves available to creators to help however we can, and we encourage them to be as open as possible with their backers about the obstacles they faceBut no matter our efforts, projects will sometimes fail to come together as planned and backers will sometimes be disappointed in outcomesWe strive to constantly learn from this, and to make sure that expectations are appropriately set for backers (like on our Trust & Safety page at [redacted] )In general, if you have questions regarding the status of the project, we encourage you to reach out to the creator directlyIf you’ve already tried that and haven’t received a response through Kickstarter messaging, you might want to consider reaching out through other channels such as the creator’s own website, where available We'll be sure to pass your feedback about this project and your experience on Kickstarter to the rest of the team hereThanks for being an engaged backer and part of the Kickstarter communityWe hope you hear more from this creator soonBest,Kickstarter

Hi there,Sorry for the confusionI see that this backer initially pledged $to this project in JulyHowever, she then adjusted the pledge to $in SeptemberIt sounds like the backer tried to add an additional $to her pledge.Unfortunately, at this point, it's not possible to change the pledge/reward selection on KickstarterI would encourage her to continue to reach out to the creator to try to work something out off-site.Best, [redacted]

Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted] , and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because: Kickstarter policy also states they will work in behalf of investorsAlso, your response does not address any of the safety or modification issues In order for the Revdex.com to appropriately process your response, you MUST answer the question above Sincerely, [redacted] ***

Hi there,Thanks for getting in touchSorry to hear about the confusion you experienced when reading our Terms and when trying to learn more about how our site worksWe are very open about the fact that funding is all-or-nothing on KickstarterThis means that backers are only charged for their pledges if the project ends having met its funding goalIf this is the case, the backers will be charged at the moment of the project's deadline passingIf a project is successful, we then assess fees from the total of funds collected, which are taken directly as each backer is chargedThese funds then go to the creatorIf a project does not meet its goal, no backers will have been charged in the first place, meaning no fees would be assessed by us either. We do highlight our all-or-nothing feature in several places throughout the site, including our FAQs, which you've mentioned, as well as our Learn and Hello pages: [redacted] We also highlight the fact that Kickstarter is all-or-nothing directly in the project build processWhen creators fill in their funding goal amount when building their project, they see the following text:"Your funding goal should be the minimum amount needed to complete the project and fulfill (and ship!) all rewardsBecause funding is all-or-nothing, you can always raise more than your goal but never lessOnce your project has launched, it will not be possible to change your funding goal.If your project is successfully funded, the following fees will be collected from your funding total: Kickstarter's 5% fee, and payment processing fees (between 3% and 5%)If funding isn't successful, there are no fees."We appreciate the feedback given about a desire to put this information in more places on the siteWe will pass this along to the rest of our team to take into consideration when making future product improvements.Should you wish to relaunch your project and try again, feel free to do so by starting a new project draft: [redacted] For more tips on how Kickstarter works and how to run a successful campaign, you can also look at our Kickstarter Creator Handbook: [redacted] Best,Kickstarter

Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted] , and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because: [Your Answer Here] This is a standard generic responseThis does not IDENTIFY my case in particular to the money that was collectedThey say they hold no liabilityThey collected the money, that they profited from the venture that was presentedI did not receive my productI Want My Refund [redacted] In order for the Revdex.com to appropriately process your response, you MUST answer the question above Sincerely, [redacted]

Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted] , and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because: I reject the statement that funds cannot be returned, if the creator has bitten off more than they can chew with respect to a project it is not a matter of being honest and saying sorry Kickstarter have taken their cut of the investors money before any work is underway The creator has then also taken his cut of the money You discuss risk, no where in the advertisement was there warnings that this just may not happen and you should be prepared to just loose your money We as investors were sold a dream and years on we are still waiting I see no proof from the threads that there are satisfied customers out there.Based on my experience and from what I have seen on the forums this project has not been managed at all by the creator NOR kickstarter what has kickstarter actively done to try and support this project getting off the ground over the last year? [redacted] In order for the Revdex.com to appropriately process your response, you MUST answer the question above Sincerely, [redacted] ***

Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted] , and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because: NonsenseYou happily accept a fee for the transaction yet you accept no responsibility when things go wrong? That is not how things workEven [redacted] will step in to make things right when you buy things through a 3rd party using their systemThis is not a 'you break it you bought it' situationAll I asked at the beginning was for you to get your project creator to make goodSince they have refused and since the money was processed by you, you have some responsibilitySimply own up to thatBe a good corporate citizen In order for the Revdex.com to appropriately process your response, you MUST answer the question above Sincerely, [redacted]

Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted] , and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because: [Your Answer Here] Kickstarter has a responsibility to prevent this creator from starting other projects until this one is satisfiedThey must shut down any funding from this creator until we have resolutionCan Kickstarter provide any information on if the creator has replied to them? What does the creator say? In order for the Revdex.com to appropriately process your response, you MUST answer the question above Sincerely, [redacted] ***

Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted] , and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because: l This was changed in Kickstarter by Kickstarter (pledge level) I went to the company I backed and got told to be patient I didn't know companies had access to Kickstarters data and could change pledge levels ???? Hi there,We definitely understand your frustrations regarding delays with the Coolest Cooler projectAt the same time, we also understand that the Coolest Cooler team is equally frustrated by these delaysA backer's desire to examine the validity of this creator's claims are understandablePart of what makes our community so special is the vibrant backer community that supports creative endeavors and holds creators to the highest standards for transparency and integrityThat said, we also encourage backers of this project to keep in mind that this creator undertook a highly complicated project, has provided a detailed description of the path, has admitted to mistakes, and has committed to pursuing a positive outcome. When you back a project on Kickstarter you enter into an agreement with the project creator, as described in our Terms of Use: [redacted] While Kickstarter is the platform for this agreement, we are not a part of itA big part of Kickstarter’s mission is to support creative freedom and independence; we don’t step into the actual creative process itselfWe encourage you to continue to reach out to this creator directly if you have additional questions about your reward and when it will be shipped.Best,Noah

Hi there,Thank you for reaching out about the status of this projectWe're sorry you’ve been experiencing these issues with communicationWe've reached out to the creator with a reminder of their obligations to their backer community, and have forwarded along your concerns and those of your fellow backersWhile we're disheartened that they have not yet updated backers on the status of their project, we're unable to force them to do so — it's the creator's responsibility to communicate and complete the project as promisedBacking a project on Kickstarter is an expression of trust and can help lead to the creation of new and exciting thingsBut it’s important to remember that sometimes complications arise that might prevent a project from unfolding as planned — or from happening at allThis certainly isn’t ideal, but we hope that creators and backers will try to communicate with each other through these developmentsAlthough we are unable to offer refunds, we are constantly working to improve the vetting process for creators and thank you for sharing your experienceWe hope you’ll continue to be an active member of the Kickstarter community as we learn and growBest,Kickstarter

Hi there,Kickstarter is a platform where creators come to launch new ideas, with the support of backersCreators on Kickstarter have a remarkable track record, but there are no guarantees that a project will work outIf a creator can't complete a project as promised, their contract with backers requires them to bring the project to the best possible conclusion, as detailed in our Terms of Use ( [redacted] ).Best,Kickstarter

Hi there,Thanks for following upWhen you back a project on Kickstarter you enter into an agreement with the project creator, as described in our Terms of Use: [redacted] While Kickstarter is the platform for this agreement, we are not a part of itWe can confirm that you should be able to message the project creator from your Kickstarter accountTo message a creator, visit the project page and click on the creator's profile imageThis will open up their bio page where you can then click the blue "Contact me" button. It also looks like we've been sending emails to the address linked to your Kickstarter account successfullyWe would recommend that you try adding [redacted] to your contacts list; that should help our emails get recognized and delivered normallyIf you're still having trouble receiving our emails, it may be an issue with your email providerPlease try reaching out to see if anything might be going on on their end Best,Kickstarter

Hi there,We're sorry to hear that you've had such a frustrating experience backing this projectHere at Kickstarter, we expect creators to fulfill rewards, offer refunds if they’re unable to complete their project, and communicate with backers at every step along the wayWhile Kickstarter is the platform for this agreement, we are not a part of itWe do not investigate a project creator’s ability to complete their project, nor do we facilitate refunds or the fulfillment of rewards(As funds are disbursed directly to project creators, it's up to them to determine whether or not to issue refunds.) While in most cases you’ll find that rewards are delivered as promised, it’s also important to realize that some projects might not fulfill as planned. When you back a project on Kickstarter you enter into an agreement with the project creator, as described in our Terms of Use: [redacted] These terms outline the responsibilities of backers and creatorsThis information can serve as a basis for legal recourse if a creator doesn’t fulfill their obligations under the agreementWe hope that backers will consider using this provision only in cases where they feel that a creator has not made a good faith effort to complete the project and fulfillIf you're having trouble reaching the project creator through direct messages on Kickstarter, you might try reaching out through other channels, such as the creator's direct email (which this creator may have posted in recent updates) or social media, where availableIn the meantime, we will be sure to pass your comments about this project and its creator along to the rest of the team hereWe're constantly working to improve our platform to minimize the kind of disappointment and frustration you've experienced, so feedback like yours is very helpful.Best,Kickstarter

Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted] , and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because: [This is the exact same copy and paste response I have been receivingIt just ignores the fact that someone is ignoring their terms of service entirely, and not giving refunds where they are required In order for the Revdex.com to appropriately process your response, you MUST answer the question above Sincerely, [redacted]

Hi there,Thanks for reaching outProjects that launch on Kickstarter are often very early in the development processThis gives backers an opportunity to be a part of the creative process from the beginningIt also makes backing a project on Kickstarter very different from purchasing an item in a store.Project creators on Kickstarter choose an “Estimated delivery date” when crafting their rewardsThis date serves as an early estimate as to when the creator may be able to fulfill, but could slip based on the demands of a given projectWhen delays do occur, they’re often in order to maintain or improve the quality of the project’s end resultWhile we encourage creators to communicate regularly through this process, it’s important to remember that each of them will approach this differentlyIn most cases, this may be the first time that a creator has the responsibility of communicating with a large support communityStill, we expect that creators will make every effort to complete their project as promised and keep backers updated along the way. When a creator is communicating, we hope that backers are able to return that respect by being patient and supportive, as everyone learns through this processOften, the most productive thing a backer can do is to cheer a creator on despite bad news or delaysWe also thank you for voicing your concerns with your Kickstarter accountOur team received your messages regarding this matter and will be in touch with you shortly through more direct channels. Thanks for being a thoughtful backer and part of the Kickstarter community.Best,Kickstarter
