Hi there,Thanks for reaching out and taking the time to share your experience with us.Projects that launch on Kickstarter are often very early in the development processThis gives backers an opportunity to be a part of the creative process from the beginningIt also makes backing a project on Kickstarter very different from purchasing an item in a store.Project creators on Kickstarter choose an “Estimated delivery date” when crafting their rewardsThis date serves as an early estimate as to when the creator may be able to fulfill, but could slip based on the demands of a given projectWhen delays do occur, they’re often in order to maintain or improve the quality of the project’s end resultStill, a project creator is expected to be respectful and keep their backers in the loop. When a creator is communicating, we hope that backers are able to return that respect by being patient and supportiveOften, the most productive thing a backer can do is to cheer a creator on despite bad news or delaysStill, if you have questions or concerns regarding the status of a project or if you’d like to see if a refund is possible, we encourage you to message the creator directlyTo message a project creator, visit the project page and click on the creator's profile imageThis will open up their bio page where you can click the blue "Contact me" link to send them a messageSupporting creative freedom is a fundamental part of our work; we strive to maintain a secure and vibrant community, while allowing creators to autonomously execute their projectsFor more tips, checkout our post on [communicating with project creators] ( [redacted] As funds are disbursed directly to the project creator, we're unable to facilitate refundsThat said, we hope that this matter is resolved soon and are here to help if you have any other questions or concernsThanks for being a thoughtful backer and part of the Kickstarter community.Best,Kickstarter

Hi there, If your pledge fails to collect when a project is successfully funded, you have seven days to fix your payment detailsYou can do so through the link provided in the email reminders, or from the “Action Needed” banner when you log into your Kickstarter accountIf we’re unable to process your payment at the end of the seven days, your pledge is dropped and it's no longer be possible to pledge through KickstarterIf this occurs, we recommend checking the project’s updates or messaging the creator to see if there’s a way you can support the project outside of KickstarterTo message the creator, visit the project page and click the creator's profile imageThis will open up their bio page where you can click the blue "Contact me" link and send a messageBest,Kickstarter

Hi there,We hate more than anything when a project is heavily delayed or doesn't come to fruitionAllowing creators to take risks and attempt to bring something new to life is the backbone of what we doHowever, we also understand that there is an inherent level of risk in any creation process.Kickstarter is built around minimizing that risk through all-or-nothing funding, which allows the collective voice of the people to decide which projects reach their goalOn our end, we review projects, uphold [our rules]( [redacted] ), practice careful governance, and use anti-fraud filteringOur Terms of Use, referenced in our last reply, outline the agreement between a backer and creator and Kickstarter's role as the platform for this agreementThe foundation of the entire system, however, is the collective wisdom of the people who back projects.Still, despite a creator's best efforts, some projects won't always come together as plannedIn these situations we make ourselves available to creators to help however we can, and we encourage them to be as open as possible with their backers about the obstacles they faceBut no matter our efforts, projects will sometimes fail to come together as planned and backers will sometimes be disappointed in outcomesWe strive to constantly learn from this, and to make sure that expectations are appropriately set for backers (like on our [Trust & Safety page]( [redacted] )).As funds are disbursed directly to the creator, we cannot facilitate refundsWe recommend reaching out to the creator through Kickstarter messages and/or other channels, such as direct email if available, to see if a refund is possibleIn the meantime we will be sure to pass your feedback along to the rest of the team hereIt’s our mission to make sure that Kickstarter is a place where folks can launch and support projects with confidence and excitement.Best,Kickstarter Support

Tell us why hereThis is directly from the kickstarter website:Reward > Creator accountability When you back a project on Kickstarter you enter into an agreement with the project creator as described in our Terms of UseThis agreement requires creators to fulfill all rewards of their project or refund any backer whose reward they do not or cannot fulfillWe hope that backers will consider using this provision only in cases where they feel that a creator has not made a good faith effort to complete the project and fulfill Aso kickstarter created this message they are responsible for ensuring the creator is held accountableI also took time stamped screenshots of this message on your website and emailed them to myself and other in case it was taken down

Hi there,On Kickstarter, a backer can only make a single pledge to a projectIf you select a new reward after you've already selected a different one as part of your original pledge, your new reward selection will replace the old oneIn this case, it looks like there was some confusion about how reward selection worksThe creator of this project encouraged backers to add an additional item to their reward request by increasing their pledges, but here it seems that instead of increasing the existing pledge, selecting the new reward (in this case, the blanket at the $level) replaced the existing reward selection (of the jacket itself) and decreased the pledge amountWhile we understand the frustration of this situation, any issues with messaging about rewards are the creator's responsibility, as are any pledging issues caused by thisSince rewards are being produced, managed, and shipped by the creator, not Kickstarter, you will need to reach out to the creator about this issueIt's possible that you may be able to arrange for additional payment to them, outside of Kickstarter, in order to receive the reward you had hoped for when you originally pledged to this project.Best,Kickstarter

Hi there,Thanks for reaching out and sorry for the trouble hereEach message that we receive from backers is reviewed by a member of our teamWe apologize if our response seemed "cold" in any way.To clarify, Kickstarter does not decline charges; all declines originate from your bankAt this point we'd recommend reaching out to a customer service representative at your bank to explain that, on Kickstarter's side, we're seeing these charges being declined, and to see if there's anything more they might be able to do to allow charge attempts to go throughThey may be able to offer further insight on whether they're able to remove any flagsWe've also seen some backers have success using a different card and retrying their pledges. That said, if the issue is already resolved on your bank's end, please log in to your Kickstarter account and go through the "Fix Payment" flow to retry collection on that cardCharges aren't automatically retried until the end of the 7-day period backers have to resolve any issues with errored pledges.Best,Kickstarter

Hi there,Thanks for following up about the status of this projectWe expect creators to fulfill rewards, offer refunds if they’re unable to complete their project, and communicate with backers at every step along the wayWhile Kickstarter is the platform for this agreement, we are not a part of itWe do not investigate a project creator’s ability to complete their project, nor do we facilitate refunds or the fulfillment of rewardsWhile in most cases you’ll find that rewards are delivered as promised, it’s also important to realize that some projects might not fulfill as plannedIt's important to keep in mind that any number of obstacles can occur during the creation process, which means that projects can be delayed well beyond their estimated delivery datesThat said, we've reached out again to this creator to remind them of their obligations to backers like you and to strongly encourage them to focus on communication through updates and direct messages. When you back a project on Kickstarter you enter into an agreement with the project creator, as described in our Terms of Use: [redacted] These terms outline the responsibilities of backers and creatorsThis information can serve as a basis for legal recourse if a creator doesn’t fulfill their obligations under the agreementWe hope that backers will consider using this provision only in cases where they feel that a creator has not made a good faith effort to complete the project and fulfill.Best,Kickstarter

Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted] , and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because: [Your Answer Here] Kickstarter needs to do more than simply reminding them to reach out as they have not reached out despite numerous messages both through kickstarter and directly, even through mediaConsidering the length of time since funding, lack of reply, kickstarter should be willing to provide direct contact info such as a number or even an email address for each projectAs you an see, they do nothing In order for the Revdex.com to appropriately process your response, you MUST answer the question above Sincerely, [redacted]

Hi [redacted] , We are equally frustrated and disappointed when a project is heavily delayed or doesn't come to fruitionAllowing creators to take risks and attempt to bring something new to life is the backbone of what we doHowever, we also understand that there is an inherent level of risk in any creation processKickstarter is built around minimizing that risk through all-or-nothing funding, which allows the collective voice of the people to decide which projects reach their goalOn our end, we review projects, uphold our rules ( [redacted] ), practice careful governance, and use anti-fraud filteringStill, despite a creator's best efforts, some projects won't always come together as plannedIn these situations we make ourselves available to creators to help however we can, and we encourage them to be as open as possible with their backers about the obstacles they faceWhile we can't facilitate refunds (because funds are disbursed directly to the creator once the project ends successfully), we do everything we can to guide creators through difficult challengesBut no matter our efforts, projects will sometimes fail to come together as planned and backers will sometimes be disappointed in outcomesWe strive to constantly learn from this, and to make sure that expectations are appropriately set for backers (like on our Trust & Safety page at [redacted] )It’s our mission to make sure that Kickstarter is a place where folks can launch and support projects with confidence and excitementBest,Kickstarter

Hi there, Thanks for reaching out and bringing this to our attentionWe're sorry to hear that backing this project has been a frustrating experience Kickstarter is here to help creators fund new ideas, giving them control over their creative work as backers follow along and become a part of the processBut projects often start off by sharing an idea for something that isn't yet finished, and nobody can predict exactly how the process is going to goMany ideas get refined or modified as they move from prototypes to actual products, and it’s not uncommon for wrinkles to crop up that push back a project’s estimated delivery dateSmall changes can even be healthy for a project's ultimate successOur biggest expectation is that, especially when a project is delayed, the creator is maintaining regular communication through updates or messagesIf that's not the case here, we're just as disappointed as you, and we encourage you to find polite ways to appeal to the creator or nudge them to post more informationOn our end, we've reached out to the creator with a reminder of their obligations to their backer community, and have forwarded along your concerns and those of your fellow backers That said, it does look like the project creator has posted a recent Project Update addressing fulfillment/the delaysYou can view that at the link below [redacted] We apologize if this is frustrating, however, it seems that this creator has made efforts to communicate with backersOften, the most productive thing a backer can do is to cheer a creator on despite bad news or delaysFinally, it seems that you were able to contact our Community Support teamIf you have any other questions, feel free to follow up with us Thanks for being a thoughtful backer and part of the Kickstarter communityWe hope you hear more from this creator soonBest,Kickstarter

Hi there, We certainly understand that this is not the ideal situationHowever, in some cases, we've seen that creators are able to get their product to the public via mass production faster than individually packaging and shipping rewardsIn other cases, a creator may be attempting to generate additional funds by selling their product on the mass market so that they can afford to fulfill their obligations to backersAgain, this is not the best outcome, to say the least, but it can be a realityIt's up to each creator to set the tone of their project and determine how best to fulfill rewardsOverall, we expect creators to fulfill rewards, offer refunds if they’re unable to complete their project, and communicate with backers at every step along the wayWhile Kickstarter is the platform for this agreement, we are not a part of itWe do not investigate a project creator’s ability to complete their project, nor do we facilitate refunds or the fulfillment of rewardsWhile in most cases you’ll find that rewards are delivered as promised, it’s also important to realize that some projects might not fulfill as plannedWhen you back a project on Kickstarter you enter into an agreement with the project creator, as described in our Terms of Use: [redacted] These terms outline the responsibilities of backers and creatorsThis information can serve as a basis for legal recourse if a creator doesn’t fulfill their obligations under the agreementWe hope that backers will consider using this provision only in cases where they feel that a creator has not made a good faith effort to complete the project and fulfillBest,KickstarterTell us why here

Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted] , and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because: [Your Answer Here] Kickstarter has not answered my simple questions I would appreciate a simple direct response.1.What group did you expose my project to? How does one get the rotations on website front page?Simple questions As soon as I can get a direct response I will close this complaint In order for the Revdex.com to appropriately process your response, you MUST answer the question above Sincerely, [redacted]

Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted] , and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because: [Your Answer Here] This is an automated Macro response from the business and a little useless regarding this caseI do understand the concept of the webpage and its policy, however the following I must remark and question:The money was collected by the business itself and not by the project creatorIf that is not the case, please let me knowIf this is the case, then your part of the contract is overdueIf number is not true, then I assume the actual business relationship is between the project creator and KickstarterIs there no policy to prevent the misuse of the service, in other words that the project creator is obligated to fulfill the founders/sponsors rewardIf there is no such thing then please let me know In order for the Revdex.com to appropriately process your response, you MUST answer the question above Sincerely, [redacted]
