Bluegreen Corporation Reviews (52)

I purchased a timeshare with Cibola Vista in Arizona in 2006 and this was subsequently taken over by Bluegreen in 2010. My experience has been very negative. Despite annually finding a Bluegreen timeshare to go to, we have never been able to get any RCI affiliated available places that we wanted, particularly in Southern California. We feel we have been lied to about the "availability" offered by Bluegreen and most importantly incensed about the continual raises in Maintenance fees. They started at about $800 and now are over $1,800 and we have not seen our 2014 bill. The company does not "sell" the timeshare so we are stuck with limited use and high expenses. We are now going to an attorney for assistance. DO NOT BUY A TIMESHARE.

I want to first start by saying please stay away from this company. We have invested so much funds in upgrades due to them saying we never have enough pts.and need to purchase more to keep up with all the so called extras that come with upgrading. We have been strugling with keeping up on those yearly maintenance fees and monthly payments. We at this point have to many points that we will never use. This has been a burden on us not an investment. With no luck for the past 2 months of contacting them on some issues we had in regards to an upgrade that they say we needed in order to bundle all things together and to get my daughter on the ownship. They out right told us that everyone needed to be present to do this and she wasnt. At a recent trip to miami we were get told again that they should have gave us a mail in option on this that never happened and they just keep covering up there lies with other tactics we are tired of it.. I am now seeking a law firm to get us out of this hardship that these deceptive, lying, and munipulative sales people put us into because your ownership at whatever level is never good enough. The customer service bluegreen offers is very unprofessional and they never call you back. They just dont care about you or your situation with them. I will never recommend them we have been owners for 8 yrs. and I am ready to loose all monies invested just so I could get out of this contract.

The program is not for everybody. After evaluation I learned there is a significant up front charge ($18,850 in this case) plus an annual maintenance fee ($1000) for the privilege of staying at certain resorts for greatly reduced rent - basically a time share with a twist. The sales people are high pressure and they distort the actual terms of the contract you sign, to the point of outright deception.

You are awarded a number of "points" at the beginning of each year. If you have enough points you can stay where you want when you want. It may take many years to accrue enough points to go where you wish. The points can carry over from year to year - for a fee. The points may also be used in lieu of money to pay for your stay. The sales crew will stress paying cash for the stay and saving your points but not tell you more points give you better choices of where and when you can stay somewhere.

Throughout the pitch bear in mind that if something sounds too good to be true, it probably is. We were fortunate - we checked it out on our computer in the motel room after signing and got back out of the contract in a timely manner.

To be completely fair, I will say the corporation itself does live up to the contractual terms of cancellation if the instructions are followed. I signed on to the program January 23, 2016. I mailed a cancellation notice to them January 25, 2016. I had the credit back on my VISA card February 4, 2016. From this point I will invest $19,000 and add $1000 (maintenance) to it every year. This will be my vacation fund. I won't use it for travel or food, only lodging. It may take quite awhile (if ever) to use up the money - but it will still be MY money.

I don't know if it's Bluegreen Vacations or [redacted] but there is a MAJOR disconnect when it comes to booking reservations. Oh, they took our money easy enough (which I'm getting back) but trying to book the actual reservation has been a nightmare. Between the reviews I have read online and my own experience I will avoid and recommend to others to avoid Bluegreen and [redacted] with EXTREME prejudice. You can't seriously expect to sell a product if the sample product is completely broken.

I am sorry to say I am a grown man that allowed a very very high powerd insistnt sales pitch to get my wife and I to buy a bluegreen time share.
it has cost us about $1000 a year for dues and fees plus $130.00 a month in payments, we have everything on auto pay so we have never been late or missed a payment, sounds great but we have been paying for five yrs and never used it, not once!!! every time we have tried to book something they dont have anything in the places we want to go they are booked . when I call they tell me they need an 11 month window to book something for me. my wife and I want out of this, I know I cant get back the money I have wasted. but we just want out

I commend and envy the people who only a had bad experience at booking stinky hotels, or dealt with rude people, and were able to walk away from signing on anyone's dotted line. But every time I look at my bank account and see two to three different payments taken out every month, I want to cry. Yes when you go to some of the presentations they are nice, sucking you in by telling you sob stories about how they became owners and they places they have been, telling you that you came in on a referral from a "gold" member so you have the option of getting a great deal also....I'm sure many of you have heard it all. I thought this would be a way to make my husband and I take time off and take trips together. Yes I was dragged in under the spell of getting all the perks, bells and whistle, but when I got home and time past, reality kicked in. Have you ever noticed that 24 to 48 hours someone calls you to get a review of your visit? Well because they realize that if they waited 30+ days they would get the real truth. On my second visit (yes I was stupid enough to return-I felt obligated) I was told I could add more points for a small amount and my monthly payment would be way under $300 a month....did I forget to tell you they found extra money for me to put down? Oh yeah, I received an $11,000 credit card (they took $9500). Let's not forget them telling me I MIGHT receive some information from some credit union that they refer people to that will assist in lowering any interest amount of my loan. No what they did was sign me up for the credit union without my verbal consent. So as I just recently got off the phone with the $11,000 credit card company because I can't afford the now 29.9% interest at almost $400 a month payment, plus TWO separate payments from BlueGreen on top of yearly maintenance fees....I continue to cry and beat myself up for my foolishness for thinking that this was a dream come true..it has been a total nightmare. Run while you still can!

I have been a Bluegreen owner since 2003 and I have had so many great vacation experiences with this company. I have upgraded my points several times over the years and in one instance changed my mind about a purchase, canceling it in the proper time (in the correct manner) and received my money back with no problem.

I have been to a lot of the Bluegreen Resorts and they are all excellently maintained, staffed with very pleasant and competent personnel. Have I ever experienced a problem? Yes, I have and it was ALWAYS taken care of to my satisfaction and then some.

Talking with other guests at the resorts, it is amazing how many of them do not begin to understand how to use their ownership to their advantage, even though there are tutorials and meetings to answer their questions. It takes some planning and research to get to certain resorts as the more popular locations fill up quickly. I have talked with guests who have "Buyer's Remorse" and found that in most cases the problem generated from not knowing how to effectively use the club and listening to disgruntled people.

I have found that Bluegreen provides great vacation opportunities at a very reasonable price.

NIGHTMARE! Was recently cornered into purchasing "points" , and although they have a nice little sales pitch, it's really a bullpen they send you to have "closers" work the deal. Not at all what I would consider a nice environment for purchasing a lifetime worth of vacations. The not so funny part, is that once we decided to back out, no one would answer their phones or return a phone call within a 24 hour period. In fact, not one persons business card we had, had a good extension number on it. And when you got someone on the phone, they wouldn't give you the persons extension to dial direct. SCAM. Everything is very shady about this company, and their tactics to close a deal. I wish [redacted] from Bass Pro would sit in one of these unannounced....he'd clear his name from his affiliation with them in a heart beat. If he's so concerned with customer service, I'd love for him to sign up, and then try to back out. STAY AWAY.

Deplorable business practices. Liars, cheats, thieves. They promised the world and give nothing but grief. They are promoted by Bass Pro Shops (who are in some way affiliated with them) and offer 4 night/5 day stays at luxury resorts for $200.00 and will give you back $125.00 in gift cards to listen to their sales pitch for 2 hours. What I got was a room in a disgusting motel that smelled and had a bathroom only as wide as a toilet that reminded me of Psycho's Bates Motel. I listened to their sales pitch and was given a $75.00 gift card which is un-useable!!! The models at their pitch center are gorgeous (not even close to their accomodations). They try to ply you to purchase their vacation plan for 30k.

I hate poor customer service! I would not recommend my dog to buy timeshare at Bluegreen Resorts. Consumer service is terrible and they do not keep their words. I have been an owner for 9 years and all I experience with booking or the mortgage department is "Sorry we are unable to assist you at this time" Please consumers, don't waste your time because it is not worth the money. The resorts are beautiful but you will never get what you want from them but they will give you what they want you to have. Now I'm calling the head quarters and they have me on hold for about 30 mins. and no one is available to handle my complaint. Now you know, it starts at the head.

I foolishly purchased a timeshare from Bluegreen. I distinctly remember that they were affiliated with the Revdex.com during the sales pitch. The offers seemed reasonable until we had to close. We purchased a very inexpensive package that was within our budget. We were given an explanation of the club fees as well and that still was nothing out of the ordinary. I remember books from previous years with the actual point cost for a vacation in our preferred destinations that would have been perfect for the package we selected. As a servicemember, I value my vacations and I thought it was a good purchase for my family and I. Once we closed and left Bluegreen in Saint Augustine, then full details of the Bluegreen nightmare began. I tried several times to book vacations and there were never ANY rooms available. I was given a guarantee by the sales rep that there were ALWAYS rooms available at Bluegreen properties. I tried several ways to book a vacation, phone calls and the internet. I googled the hotels directly and a few of them stated that all their booking was done through Bluegreen. I googled the hotel and tried to book a vacation, and the only rooms available were for prospective buyers. So as a current Bluegreen property owner, there were no rooms available, but if I planned on purchasing a timeshare, then there were plenty of open rooms. My family and I were in shock, but we did manage to book a room in a non-Bluegreen property in Key Largo, FL. I did some research and discovered that there was a Bluegreen property 1 mile away from our hotel room. I drove up to the property and was told by the lady that there were rooms available but we had to stay 2 nights (not disclosed during the presentation or closing that the properties usually required a 2 night stay). I was also told that it was really easy to use the points to pay the annual membership dues. That was a total lie and the agent withheld the fact that you had to pay an exhorborant amount of money to even register for websites to sell your points. I was contacted by no less than 3 companies offering to "sell" my timeshare for me but wanted $1800 to register it for their website. By that time, I had enough of the Bluegreen umbrella scam that I always googled them while they were on the phone and shure enough, not one of them were accredited with the Revdex.com. I called on a few occasions and offered to pay the "mortgage" and I didn't want any rights to the "properties," the "benefits," or the points. I distinctly remember the associate on the phone telling me that there was no way I could give the "deed" back, and that my contract had perpetuity written into it and the only way was to sell it or die. I've seen listings for Bluegreen properties for $1 online in an attempt to get rid of them. I had to get a lawyer to rid myself of the Bluegreen headache. In retrospect, I wish I had googled the company before I did any business.

DO NOT TRUST THIS CORPORATION, they are racist, crooks and hustlers scamming people out quick cash. I purchase a package, called to reserve my income change, im no longer qualified, and they do not give refunds. Now they gave me the options: give it away to someone who makes 40,000 a year or I can extend to a later date when my income meets the requirement and im compelled to bring my proof of income.( black woman has to show proof of her income, because she cant be trusted)

I have timeshare (berkley)and when I did my tour, they did not ask me one time for my proof of income, there concern was my interest and what im able to pay monthly.

I will not recommend this company to anyone who has a soul or a heart, not all are treated equally. Racist company.
