I paid in advance for my dogs to be treated. I picked them up early and was refunded partially. Months later they are sending me a bill.
In February, I took my two dogs to BluePearl after possibly ingesting poison. I was told they would need to stay for 4-5 days and was required to prepay $6000.00. I paid $3000 on my debit card and $3000 on my husband's debit card. After two days, I received a call from the vet saying that they didn't think the dogs had actually gotten anything and that they were being released early. When I got there to pick the dogs up, the cashier refunded $3000.00 to one debit card and $903.15 to the other. This seemed correct as they had been in less than half of what was quoted. The companies policy is that animals are not released without full payment having been received. I left that day with a $0 balance. Now months later, I am receiving bills from them including finance charges! I feel as I am being harassed! I have tried speaking with them and they tell me they are willing to set up payment arraignments. I am refusing because I don't owe them anything. Now they are threatening me with sending my supposed balance to collections. I believe they are violating the Fair Trade Act.

Desired Outcome

I am seeking for them to stop contacting me and agree that I paid in full in advance and owe them nothing.

Dear Ms., we can provide you with a copy of the complete invoice which shows the individual costs for the care and treatment your family authorized and our medical team conducted. While an initial clerical error resulted in you being charged for only one patient, following our audit process we contacted you to explain the situation and request the remaining balance on your account. The treatment estimates you signed, one for each patient, authorized us to provide the recommended medical care and you accept responsibility for payment of these fees. Please contact the Tampa hospital's practice manager, Courtney D., to discuss payment arrangements. Respectfully, The BluePearl Tampa team

This review and complaint is addressed to the Ulmerton Road office which this site will not allow me to switch to. In a nut shell the emergency care is good the business practices are short of criminal considering the emergency nature of most visits. Some pets are so sick they don't have days for the vets or office managers to get back with you when the vets won't. And almost a year later (because of incompetence in their office) I get a call about my original email to them asking why I had to call 5 times to know the results of test requested by the doctor, who also asked me to keep a daily record of his symptoms, but no one cared about those daily records???? My dog died. Long version, my dog was diagnosed with MVP at 2 years old, seen by Dr. Spier in the Brandon office, tests were run, meds not necessary at that time. We moved to St. Pete, my Cole is 7 now and is showing symptoms. Partridge Vets in St. Petersburg put him on heart medication in 2015. I provided them with all the original paperwork and labs from Dr. Spier in Brandon. I located Dr. Spier in the Ulmerton office (lucky right?). Made an appt. for him to review what the vet had prescribed since they were adjusting it occasionally. He ordered blood work and a daily monitoring by me. I never was called about the blood work results. No one ever asked about the daily symptom checks. I first called the Ulmerton office on 5/30/2017, then 6/2, 6/6, 6/7, 6/8 each time I was assured someone would return my call. Finally I went on the Business Web site and email the area director. Who did call me back, review my test results, but never had a reason or consequence for the actions of the office and staff. Blue Pear is $$$$ pricey. Therefore they have unlimited resources to the best care, best staff and medical resources. They are also in a position where they are caring for families that are in most cases, an emergency situation of a beloved family member (pet), they are held to a higher standard and should be MORE considerate, empathetic and diligent. These families are emotional and distraught. The incompetency and lack of empathy is UNACCEPTABLE. This all took place from 5/2016. Cole died July 6 2017 and I don't know if I gave him the quality of life he deserved even though I was proactive in seeking out a specialist and paying for the higher quality of care.

At that time, the results took several days to arrive, and upon receipt, we sent those to you and discussed the findings.
