Hi there,
I've purchased 3 tickets to a Beer Festival event in Haines, Alaska for this May 23rd of 2020 but due to COVID19 the event was cancelled and I have had to request a refund which I have done so on April 15th 2020 and the company sent me an email stating they acknowledged receiving my request and that my refund would take 2 weeks.. it is May 7th now and I still have not seen my refund yet. I have sent emails requesting a status of the refund claim but have received no response.
Hello ***,We would like to apologize for the delay in your refund and our lack of communication. Due to a high volume of incoming requests due to the pandemic and the small size of our support team, we have not been able to respond as quickly as we’d like.A full refund has been issued back to the purchasing card for orders #*** and #*** and a confirmation has been sent to you via email. You should see the funds returned within 7-10 business days depending on your financial institution.Thank you,

The event I was going to attend was cancelled during the first week of March 2020... since then I have sent at least 2 emails to the refund-related-only email + one or two emails back to the original email... no reply no follow up and foremost no refund of $138.48 to the Credit Card ending -*** I have used for the purchase... Order Confirmation Number: *** from December 8, 2019
I understand that refunds have been taking longer as I did wait longer for the other refunds from other vendors but this is over 2 months from the original cancellation... unacceptable!

On March 11, 2020 our organization received an email stating a check for our event ticket proceeds had been issued. Check #*** in the amount of $10,000.00 and would be sent to our address on file. To date we have not received these funds. When I called in April they advised me to email their accounting office which I have done multiple times and received no response. Now they have no phone service stating it's due to COVID. Per their email, our check had already been cut and we have not received this. We are a volunteer fire department who has been using Brown Paper Tickets for years for ticket sales to our event. We are also non profit.

We understand your frustration and are deeply sorry for the delay in your event payment, as well as our lack of timely communication with you. Brown Paper Tickets is facing significant hurdles, but we are working to get all of our event organizers paid as quickly as possible given the circumstances.
Our team has reached out to you via email to obtain the information needed to set up electronic ACH payments. Due to COVID-19 related restrictions in Washington state, we are not able to send checks at this time. In the meantime, please know that the small but dedicated staff who remain are working hard to process payments and refunds to make our customers whole and return to providing the quality service you expect from us.

On March 8, 2020 I purchased tickets for an event scheduled on March 14, 2020. On March 12, the event was cancelled due to Covid-19 concerns.
I submitted all of the information requested the same day and the reply was to allow 7 to days for a refund to be issued. After about two weeks I sent an email enquiring about the refund, did not receive a response and 3 or 4 more subsequent emails again have been ignored. Brown Paper Tickets has not sent any correspondance nor issued a Refund as of today.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID, and find that this resolution (a refund) is satisfactory to me.

I hosted an event on February 29th and sold tickets to this event via BrownPaperTickets platform. On March 6th I received an email saying that my check for $1,002.50 will be generated within the next few days and will be shipped via USPS First-Class Mail. It also stated that event organizers typically receive their checks within 7-10 business days of the shipping date. It's May 7th, but I still haven't received this check. I contacted the company several times, but after few formal emails "we're working on it" they stopped responding.
This is horrifying. As independent artist, I rely on ticket sales and I expected this money to cover my production expenses.
This event was hosted on February 29th, before the pandemic was declared. I assumed, this shouldn't affect my payment, but it did. Which I find very unprofessional.
Thank you!

Re: [#***] Your Support Request (Refunds)
Brown Paper Tickets (BPT) has not returned my emails in more than a week and our customers cannot contact them except by email to which they do not respond.
I am the organizer for St Patrick’s Day Ceili Dinner and Dance March 14 2020. We contracted Brown Paper Tickets (BPT) to sell the tickets and they sold 55 for an amount totalling $1140 Cdn. I cancelled the event March 13 2020 and I was told by BPT that refunds to credit cards would be automatic and be done within 7-10 business days but a dozen or more customers tell me that has not happened. It is now May 6 and no refunds to credit cards have been made. I have sent numerous emails over the past 7 days with absolutely no response. BPT have cut off phone support.
Hello ***,
We understand your frustration and are so sorry for the delay in your customers' refunds and our lack of communication with you. Brown Paper Tickets is currently facing a number of significant hurdles, but we are working to issue refunds as quickly as possible under the circumstances.
All refunds have now been issued for "St. Patrick's Day Ceili - Supper and Dance." Your customers should see the funds returned within 7-10 business days, depending on their financial institution.

On 3/1/20 we purchased theatre tickets for a March 19 performance through Brown Paper Tickets. We paid $70.20 on our Visa card. Our confirmation number is ***. The show was soon cancelled because of the virus. We immediately called Brown Paper Tickets and were told it would take about two weeks for our refund. Now, two months later, despite many calls and an email to them, we still have not gotten our refund.

My son, *** died in July at 28 years old. We set up a foundation to honor him with the plan to award a college scholarship annually. We decided to do one fundraising event a year and we had our first one on March 8, 2020. We used Brown Paper tickets for our ticket sales and we sold 120 tickets at 50$ per ticket. We raised 6,000 dollars. Brown Paper Tickets staff assured us that we would receive our money within 14 days after the event. Three weeks went by and we began to call to request our money and we were repeatedly told that we would receive OUR money within the week. I emphasize OUR because this is not a refund but money that is ours in order to award scholarships in my son's name so that his legacy of being a hard working, honest, and compassionate young man can continue. In the meantime, we have 11 applications and essays from amazing students who are hoping to be chosen for a scholarship. We have to award the scholarship this week and we have not received the money we raised. As a mother and teacher, I am completely heartbroken. Grieving the loss of ones own child is the most difficult thing a parent can do and yet now I am grieving and additional loss due to your lack of response. Starting a foundation and doing our first fundraiser was quite literally the only thing that got me out of bed in the morning for the last 9 months because I was doing what my beloved son would do - helping others in need. I will continue to pursue you in various ways until you return our money for students in need of scholarships. This money was also going to support the ability to continue the Foundation that took us months of hard work and expense to establish. I could not be more devastated at your lack of response and now time is an issue as well in order to award a scholarship. Please don't take away my hard work to honor my son.
Hello,
We are so sorry for your loss. We would like to look into the status of your event payment, but we were not able to locate an account under the email address listed, ***@gmail.com. Can you please provide us with your account email address or login?

I am rejecting this response because: All of our correspondence since the day we chose you for our ticket sales back in December 2019 has been through the following
email- ***@gmail.com We have continued our emails and letters to you using that exact email as we planned the fundraising event and after the event when we did not
receive our money. In addition I sent you a facebook private message and also gave you the email as well when you requested it to confirm. Our lawyer also sent you a letter asking
you to return our money that is for my son's memorial foundation and you still did not respond. You now have the email that was used for all our correspondence. Just to be clear
again, the email is ... ***@gmail.com Now you will be able to connect this email to the event and return OUR money that is for a memorial foundation for my son so
that we can use the money to award a college scholarship this week. I could not be more devastated as to what you have done to a grieving family that wanted to help others.
Sincerely
I purchased 1 ticket at this organization (ORDER NUMBER: ***) to attend a play on 03/17, which was cancelled by the organizer on 03/13. I asked for a full ticket refund according to Brown Paper Ticket refund policy on 03/13. This organization has not refunded me, nor have they indicated a date before which the refund will arrive.

We use Brown Paper Tickets service for our audience members to purchase tickets via a credit card for our community theater performances. Our last show was a murder mystery dates Feb 27-29. M
We received the usual emails informed us our checks - including the check numbers were on their way. We received the first in the amount of $700.00 in the usual fashion. The second email dated March 5 confirmed the next check in the amount of $910.00 was being processed and to expect payment in 7-10 days. The thurs email dated March 6 said our third check in the amount of $1,855 was being processed. Etc. We received the $910 check. We never received the $1,855 check. Then on March 17 we received notice from them to not deposit the checks they mailed us due to issues of cancellations and the Covid-19 situation. Our audience paid for their tickets to see our show which was performed in it entirety the dates advertised. They obviously have used OUR funds to cover other debt and that is unacceptable. Our show was not cancelled. We are currently out $2,765. We paid our vendors and expenses. We have reached out via email 3 times. Tried by phone twice. All we have gotten are canned responses saying they will get back to us in two weeks. March 17. It is now May 6. No one will contact us. We must get a resolution to this matter. We are deserved our funds to our show was completed. No cancellation.

On February 24, 2020 I purchased two tickets to an event called dinner at the WADIA‘ S. The event was canceled and Brown Paper Tickets emailed me on March 13, 2020 stating I would get my refund in 7-10 business days. Since then I have contacted them several times by email requesting a refund. The only response I’ve gotten is an automatic email response. I have not received my refund for the two tickets, and I think that plenty of time has gone by in order to process my request. I understand the covid situation is slowing things down but it seems like almost 2 months is plenty of time to take care of it especially when consumers need their refund.

I purchased 2 concert tickets (totaling $60.74) from Brown Paper Tickets for a performance that was subsequently canceled because of the coronavirus. I requested a refund on April 4, 2020 and the company acknowledged receiving my request saying it would take at least two weeks to process. I have sent numerous emails requesting a status of the refund claim but have received no response.

This is about two shows for which Brown paper tickets failed to provide PROMISED refunds. They failed repeatedly to respond to my contact other than automated message. Phone not being staffed. They have failed to refund ticket purchases by myself and many others in my community. Paid with credit card, easy to credit me. They never paid the productions for the tickets so they must have the $ unless they don’t which would be a criminal offense.
Shows were cancelled due to covid and producers want our $ returned. They want their patrons...me...to be credited for the full cost charged to our cards...no fees withheld!

Brown Paper Tickets is a terrible organization. They turned off their phones and only sent auto responses to emails. They failed to provide refunds to many, many customers. If I hadn’t stumbled upon this Revdex.com website, I would still be waiting for my money. Money we all need during this global health crisis. Never, ever do biz with Brown Paper Tickets. They won’t think twice about cheating you and your shoe producers out of money.
Thank you Revdex.com for getting my money back!

Payment for ticket sales from my show on February 8th has yet to be paid by Brown Paper Tickets (BPT) despite completion of the show and no requested refunds. Instead of issuing payment within their standard 10 days, no check was received and I had to contact BPT for payment several weeks after event completion. A check was sent by BPT for $1,840, which then bounced on March 18th. BPT sent an email on March 18th stating payment would be reissued within 14-21 days. I emailed BPT on March 19, 2020 and again on April 27, 2020 and have not received any response. I have called BPT multiple times to inquire about the payment status, and was told by their staff that the payment would be reissued within 6 weeks, and that since my show was before the pandemic it would be processed as a high priority. It has been longer than 6 weeks. Despite multiple phone calls, emails to both support and accounting, no responses or payment of the $1,840 check have been received. I am concerned by the lack of response from BPT as their phone support has been discontinued. May 8th marks 12 weeks from my completed event date, which is more than twice the amount of time BPT assured me it would take to receive payment. Since my show was completed before the onslaught of Covid 19 cancelations, it should be simple for someone at BPT to look it up and reissue a check.

I purchased tickets through brown paper tickets for an event that was supposed to take place on March 21, 2020 (Voices Against Violence Ball, Plymouth, NH). The event had to be canceled and I received an email stating that my tickets could either be donated to the non-profit hosting the event or refunded. I chose to donate 2 tickets and have 8 refunded. Tickets were $65 a piece, so $130 should have been donated (the non-profit has stated they have not received any money). I should be receiving a refund of $520. Brown paper tickets sent a confirmation email that they had received my request for refund. I have not been able to be in contact with them since and have NOT been issued my refund. I will be suffering the loss of $45 for processing fees regardless.

On 3/18/20, an event that I purchased tickets through Brown Paper Tickets was cancelled because of the Coronavirus. For this event, I purchased (2) tickets totaling $159.48. I received an automated email from Brown Paper Tickets requesting the following information to provide a refund which I promptly provided:
Confirmation Number
Last 4 Digits of CC
Name on CC
Ticket 1
Ticket 2
Barcode Number for Ticket 1
Barcode Number for Ticket 2
I have followed-up with Brown Paper Tickets numerous times requesting a refund status and have not received any replies. It has been (7) weeks since the event was cancelled. It is irresponsible for this business not to refund money in a more timely manner.

BrownPaperTickets.com (BPT) is an online ticketing service catering to small arts organizations and individual artists creating live events. My performance company, ***, has had an account with BPT for years. We had a series of live events scheduled between March 21-March 29, 2020 and were actively selling tickets through BPT up to March 12th, when we made the decision to pivot and offer ticket holders an online experience rather than the live event. According to BPT reports, they sold $678 in tickets to our event that they now owe us. We opened a support ticket on April 10th asking when we could expect payment, and received a standardized email reply a week later on April 17th. They have not responded to multiple emails or phone calls, and recently shut off their phone service. Their website is still up and running for new events.
Hello ***,We are deeply sorry for the extended delay in getting your payment to you. We also recognize that our previous estimated timelines for payment have come and gone, and the lack of a timely response to your messages has probably added to your frustration.
In the past month and a half, our backlog of cases has grown exponentially, and most of our employees have been temporarily laid off. That means transactions have piled up and become more complicated, and we don’t have enough hands to manage the work.
But we are taking active steps to make this right, including pursuing federal loans to bring back members of our customer support team and outside funding to help speed up payments and refunds. Priority for repayment is being given to those who already have been issued checks and whose events already occurred. Our team has reached out to you via email to obtain the information needed to set up electronic ACH payments so that we can issue your payment via direct deposit. Due to COVID-19 related restrictions in Washington state, we are not able to send checks at this time.
We are also making improvements to our communications systems so we can provide you with timely and accurate information to keep you updated during this challenging time. You can read our full statement and sign up for updates here: https://www.covid-recovery.brownpapertickets.org/
In the meantime, please know that the small but dedicated staff who remain are working hard to process payments and refunds to make our customers whole and return to providing the quality service you expect from us.
Thank you,

I am rejecting this response because:
Your claim "Our team has reached out to you via email to obtain the information needed to set up electronic ACH payments so that we can issue your payment via direct deposit." is untrue.
The last email I received from anyone at Brown Paper Tickets was over a month ago, from "Andrew L." informing me that within a week they would contact me to arrange payment. Four weeks later, your phone number is now disconnected and there my emails are continuing to go unanswered.
Sincerely
You are correct--it appears that the email was not successfully sent to you. We apologize for the oversight. Our team has just sent the email to you at *** to request information for ACH direct deposit.
Brown Paper Tickets (BPT) has collected $2,304 in tickets plus their ticketing fees from our patrons. We had to cancel our event due to mandates from our government; it was planned for March 27-28, 2020. We spoke to BPT about cancelling the event around March 13th and they said that all of our ticket holders would be fully refunded, including their processing fees, within 8-10 business days. It has now been 53 days (37 business days) and the refunds have still not been processed for our patrons. After multiple calls throughout the first half of April where they assured us these were being processed, they have now completely stopped communicating with us. They closed their phone lines and are no longer responding to the multiple emails we have sent them. Our patrons are now angry with us and this is causing our business, who's reputation is basically our product, to be irreparably harmed. We are a very, very small volunteer-run nonprofit and cannot afford to refund our patrons out of our own pockets. Please help.
Hello ***,

In the past month and a half, our backlog of cases has grown exponentially, and most of our employees have been temporarily laid off. That means transactions have piled up and become more complicated, and we don’t have enough hands to manage the work. In addition, our system does not allow for mass refunds.
We are taking active steps to make this right, including pursuing federal loans to bring back members of our customer support team and outside funding to help speed up payments and refunds.
Brown Paper Tickets fully intends to refund all the affected ticket buyers. We are very sorry the process is taking so long and we will make every effort to keep the you and your buyers appraised of any updates regarding the refunds.
Thank you,
Brown Paper Tickets
