Bureau Of Medical Economics Reviews (77)

Review: The collection agency (CA) "BUREAU OF MEDICAL ECONOMICS" has reported a collection of $153 regarding account "#[redacted]" per "MEDICAL DIAG IMAGING GROUP LTD" to the three major Credit Reporting Agencies (CRA) known as [redacted] and [redacted]. This collection is fraudulent, does not belong to me, is reported past the Statute of Limitations (SOL) for the state of [redacted] where I reside and where the debt reportedly originates, and the CA refuses to verify the information reported.

Multiple attempts have been made to verify the integrity of the debt in question. The CA is repeatedly unable to validate the debt, and only demands a payment be made for the amount reported, refusing to acknowledge that the debt in question is past the SOL for the state of [redacted]. The information reported to each CRA varies, showing obvious signs of neglect and fraudulent activity on the side of the CA. Reporting this information is against The Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) and their attempts to collect violate the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA).Desired Settlement: The collection agency must cease all communication regarding this alleged debt at once, and have the reported collection removed from the three major credit bureaus, [redacted] and [redacted].

Response:

Thank you for the opportunity to respond to this complaint. We have reviewed the account and are reporting thefollowing. This account was assigned to our agency on 8/31/2009. The services were delivered by Medical Diagnostic Imaging Group at [redacted] on 4/18/2009. We have attached an itemization of charges for the consumer in order to verify this debt. Our first notice was returned In the mail by the USPS with a forwarding address of [redacted]. Subsequent notices were mailed to the [redacted] address with no return mail. No response was made to our notices nor voicemall messages. The first communication with this consumer was on March 181h 2015. The consumer left a message to call [redacted] An agent from the agency called that number back at 10:14AM the same day and left a message for a return call. We have no record of a response to our call.On March 10,20!S, we received a dispute through E-Oscar (web-link to all 3 credit reporting agencies). The consumer stated 11Provlde or confirm complete 10. This collection does not belong to me. I do not live in [redacted] or [redacted]. I have not done business with Medical Diagnostic Imaging Group, Advanced Radiology Heatthcare, Focused Imaging of AZ or Vascular and lnterventional Physicians.Per federal statute, a debt collector has 30 days to respond to a dispute. The account was scheduled for debt verification when we received this complaint. On April!,201S,we received a similar dispute through E-Oscar. We are fulfilling our obligation of responding to these disputes with the enclosed itemized statement of charges. This debt is not a situation of being past statute. The [redacted] Statute of limitations would lapse on April 18th 2015, however, when an account is listed on the credit report, there is another statute of limitation of 7 years from the listing date which,In this case, would be 12/2/2015.Please be advised that we have ordered the item deleted from the consumer's credit profile in consideration that the itemwould be scheduled to delete as past statute in December. We trust this deletion resolves this consumer's dispute. Please let us know If there is any further information needed toresolve this complaint.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution would be satisfactory to me. I will wait until for the business to perform this action and, if it does, will consider this complaint resolved.

Regards,

Review: Collection was under "[redacted]." I was in a divorce process when they listed this on my credit report. I was not at the same address or phone number. My assumption was the bill was to be paid by the insurance company. When it was not, I paid the bill. However, this continues to linger on my credit report even though it was paid ages ago. I wish for it to be removed. I have already tried disputing it from all 3 credit bureaus. They have not removed it and I cannot dispute again because it has already been disputed.Desired Settlement: Removed from all 3 credit bureaus.

Response:

Thank you for the opportunity to respond to this complaint. Our records show that this account was assigned to the agency on 2/4/2010. We have no record of a mail return on our notices sent to the consumer. The account was paid on 6/4/2010 and we accurately reported the account as paid to the credit reporting agencies involved. Because the consumer has stated that she was no longer at the address, we are deleting this account from the consumer's credit profile. We are sending confirmation of the deletion to the updated address given on the consumer's statement. Please let us know if there is any further information necessary to close this complaint. Thank you.

Review: jan 2014 I received a dr bill for excessive charges and demanded an itemized bill. waited weeks to get one then drs bill was sent to bureau of medical economics and I again requested an itemized bill and a rep was very nice and told me she would try to get it for me but did not have one to send to me. jan 25 2015 I received a collection notice after 10 months of not hearing anything or receiving any itemized bill and informed this business they could speak with my mother [redacted] at any time concerning resolving this disputed bill. the person who was handling my request for itemized billing I was informed no longer worked there. my mother requested again why would you wait 10 months and send us another bill without proof and itemized items on a real detailed bill and a man named [redacted] insured my mother I would received an itemized bill immediately . she even offered to pay the bill in the amount she thought was appropriate and this man said he didn't know, a week later she called Mr [redacted] back informing him she never received the itemized statement we both have been requesting for over a year and he said it was sent out and she also asked the mail carrier to look out for it and the itemized statement was never received by me at my address . the same day a girl called me at work and hung up I redial the number and requested she fax me the itemized bill immediately and she said she couldn't do it without the supervisors permission. that was over a week ago and no one has cooperated to resolve this bill which I am disputing because I am being billed for what ? 3 minute conversation in er I already paid all bills and tests results from my emergency over a year ago and this medical bill has no merit because we have no itemized bill to know what $1195.00 is for and I am being charged more then someone with insurance would pay and I had witnessesat the hospital who can provide proof to what I went through to prove I do not owe this excessive bill.Desired Settlement: proof of what they are billing me for because no one has done any explanation in the form of a detailed summary or bill to date since jan 2014 and to waive this bill due to non compliance with hospital billing explanation of details of bill which is unacceptable and over 1 year later with no cooperation from any one in billing

Please see our response attached. thank you.

This company sent me a notice in the mail that I owed for a hospital bill. I was indeed in the hospital on the date in question. However, my bill was paid 100% by insurance. I contacted the hospital directly and was advised my bill was paid and no collection action was necessary.

A day later my dad received a similar notice regarding his stay. Again, that bill has been paid and the hospital verified there is no collection.

This organization is simply a scam operating as a "legitimate" business. The company somehow gets information regarding the difference between medical billed procedures and the contracted rates with insurance companies and tries to bill the consumer the difference as if the amount has been turned over to collection. It's business practices are unethical and be forewarned not to be suckered in to this terrible business practice.

Review: They placed the account in collections and on my credit report.

Never sent me a bill or spoke to anyone on the matterDesired Settlement: Like to know what the bill was for and I want it removed of my credit report> at least give me the option to pay it before they take such action

Thank you for the opportunity to respond to the above referenced complaint. Our recordsshow that this account was assigned on 7/7/2014 for services by [redacted]. We hadn't received any responses to our four notices nor any mail return from the [redacted].On 4/14/15, we received a call from the consumer. We were asked if we would delete the account from the credit record if the account is paid. We sent a letter confirming that we agree to delete the account from the consumer's credit profile when the account is paid.A copy of the confirmation letter is attached. I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

They never received a response because they were sending the the correspondence to a address I never lived at. I provide correct address after seeing on my credit report. I never received an itemized bill for the service they say they provide just placed on my credit report and now holding me to pay without ever seeing a bill. They sent the the bills to a Pecos road address I have never lived or provided to anyone. Now the account is a negative mark on my report because they failed to notify me. I provided them with a vaid address the still only sent me a letter saying they willl delete if I pay however I still have no idea specifically what I am being charged for or paying. Sorta like we put it on your report now pay us this amount, dont worry about what its for just pay us.

Regards,

Review: This company has failed to provide me any notification of the debt being in collection or contacting me regarding the issue, they have reported a $367 debt 6 times on my credit making the total $2202, this is unfair practice and action should be taken for them tarnishing my credit like this. They have made no attempts to collect this debt yet incorrectly reported the same debt 6 times.Desired Settlement: If valid I will pay the debt and it should not be on my credit report, as they have reported this incorrectly, my credit needs to be updated to reflect no collections.

Response:

Thank you for the opportunity to respond to this complaint. Our records indicate that this consumer's account was assigned to our agency for collection by [redacted] for services delivered on 8/19/2012 in the amount of $367.00 for patient [redacted] on 11/6/2013.Our notices were mailed to [redacted], Maricopa, AZ 85138 on 11/7/2013, 12/26/2013, and 1/23/2014. A message was also left on the residential line on 11/14/2013.On 2/5/2014, our agency's data was transmitted to the credit reporting agencies which accurately listed the $367.00 debt on the consumer's credit record. The transmission of data to credit reporting agencies from our agency is a system function and occurs once after 90 days have lapsed from the date of assignment. We have not heard of a listing being duplicated 6 times before. We've investigated our file and only found the account listed once on the download from February 5, 2014. However, there may be an error on the part of the credit bureaus. Without documentation from the consumer, we are unable to determine which credit bureau has made the error or in fact if there is an error. The consumer contacted our agency this morning and paid the account with a check-by-phone transaction. When the transaction clears, we will order the account deleted from the consumer's credit report. We trust this deletion order will resolve the issue. We will send verification of our deletion order to the consumer when the account balance is cleared. It appears this issue is resolved.

Review: When checking my credit report, I noticed that Bureau of Medical Economics had placed a collection item in the amount of $693.00. I paid this item yet they are still reporting it as a collection item on my credit bureau reports.Desired Settlement: I would like this erroneous report removed from my credit report.

Business

Response:

Our records indicate that the account was paid on 11/13/14 and that we electronically transmitted a deletion order to the credit bureaus on 12/1/14. If this consumer sees this item on one of her credit reports, the error is with the bureau listing it. We sent the deletion order and it shows deleted on our system. There is no method of deleting the account twice. Please contact the credit bureau that shows the error and dispute their listing. They will send the dispute to us for verification. Or, have the errant credit bureau contact us via phone to confirm that we ordered the deletion.Thank you!

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.I have already had the item in question on my credit bureau deleted. This company made an error and re-reported it after it was paid. Response:

Hello again. We checked with all 3 credit bureaus regarding this consumer's complaint. Our system electronically transmits data at the end of each month. I've attached our system screen on this account showing that the deletion order (code = DA 0.00) was sent on 12/1/14 to [redacted], and [redacted]. We had our IT department check with the 3 credit bureaus to confirm that they had gotten the transmission. [redacted] and [redacted] confirmed that this account was deleted with our order. [redacted] had an error on their end in that they listed a different charge date on this account than our system reflects. This caused the order to delete to not take effect. After our discussion with [redacted], we were instructed to send a deletion order manually. the deletion order draft is also attached to this response. According to [redacted], it may take 72 hours for them to remove this account. We apologize for the inconvenience to the consumer that [redacted]'s erroneous data caused. There was never a refusal on our part to correct the erroneous listing, we just didn't have a way to determine the error from our end. We hope this problem is now resolved. If there are any further difficulties, please contact me directly at ###-###-####.Sincerely,[redacted]

Response:

Thank you for the opportunity to respond to this complaint. Our records show that there are two accounts in the agency for this consumer for [redacted] (file #[redacted] for $165.00 & file #[redacted] for $151.00). Both accounts have been cancelled due to a Chapter 7 bankruptcy. The filing date is 6/28/2010 and the case was discharged on 10/12/2010. These two files are the only accounts in our system associated with this consumer's name. We have sent a confirmation letter to the consumer today regarding these cancellations. His accounts both show a zero balance. If this complaint is regarding any other accounts, we would need to have additional information in order to locate the consumer's account. It appears as if the necessary action has already been taken to delete the accounts from the consumer's credit record. Please contact us at [redacted] for any additional assistance. Thank you.

Review: I received a collection bill with no explanation what is for except the Creditor is Premier Emergency Medical Spec.

When I called Bureau of Medical Economics I asked them to explain what the bill os for and they said from services on 11/21/2011, over 2 years ago.

I asked for an itemized bill and they are unable to produce.

I asked why it took so long and they would not answer.

Becuase of the length of time that passed my insurance company can not help.Desired Settlement: Since it is over 2 years and this is the first I heard of a bill the charges should be dismissed and my credit history should not be affected.

Response:

Thank you for the opportunity to review and respond to this complaint. This consumer's account was assigned to the agency on 11/06/2013. We contacted our client regarding the circumstances surrounding the assignment of the balance. They have advised us that the account should be cancelled. The consumer's account is now cancelled and the balance is zero. Since the account hasn't been reported to the consumer's credit profile, there has been no effect on his credit We apologize for the inconvenience our involvement has created for Mr. [redacted]. A confirmation of the cancellation of this account has been sent to him. Thank you.

Review: On February 4, 2014 I made a final payment to this collection company for services rendered. On February 7, 2014, this company reported this and it appeared on my credit report. They apologized for the error and promised it would be removed in 30 days and I even received a letter from them. I have since called them and emailed them asking when the correction will be made as we are now heading in [redacted] and the collections is still showing on my report.Desired Settlement: I would like the company to remove the derogatory information from my credit credit as promsied.

Business

Response:

Thank you for the opportunity to respond to this consumer's complaint. It appears that this issue has now been resolved. Our system notes indicate that Mr. [redacted] made his final payment on 2/7/14 bringing his account balance to zero. His account was previously listed on his credit record since the account was assigned to our agency on 8/12/13. The agency reported the account accurately as being paid in full at the close of February to his credit record. We have no notes of an agreement that the account was to be suspended from reporting from credit reporting prior to receiving payments on the account. The payments on the account were made via our on-line payment and those were of varying amounts, specifically $33.33 on 10/3/13, $$75.00 on 11/5/13, $75.00 on 12/31/13 and $150.00 on 2/7/14. Mr. [redacted] called our office on 2/10/14 stating that the account was on his credit report (it had been initially listed on his credit report in December 2013). He stated that he had an agreement that the account would be deleted when the account was paid. Although we had no note to that effect, the agent agreed to order the item deleted. The agency's data is transmitted after the close of each month's business transactions so the download transmits to all 3 credit reporting agencies during the first days of the following month. The item was ordered to be deleted by the agent on 2/10/14 but there was a delay in the processing of that order in our office causing the order to miss the download at the end of February. The deletion order was eventually downloaded to the credit bureaus at the close of March's business. The deletion order transmitted on 4/4/14 to all credit agencies involved. The item should have been deleted from Mr. [redacted]'s credit record within a few days. If this item is still showing on Mr. [redacted]'s credit record, Mr. [redacted] file a dispute on-line with the credit reporting agency still showing the item and the listing agency will correct their error as they will confirm with our agency that we have ordered the deletion. Please let us know if there is any further information we [redacted] provide in order close this complaint file.

Review: I owed money to [redacted] and was contacted by Bureau of Medical Economics, [redacted]. They harrassed me unti I finally committed to $25.00 a month which I have set up as a Bill Pay on my [redacted] Checking account. I called this company today on the number listed on the internet [redacted] to find out the payoff and it was to a home of a women who says she gets call every week for this company. I then contacted the [redacted] and they have never heard of this company and no money has been paid off on my account with them. I then looked here on the [redacted] and there are 33 complaints. I spoke with a gal named [redacted] and she said I could file this complaint and she would forward it to fraud dept. I also called the [redacted] office and was instructed to file a complaint. I went back to the website for Bureau of Medical Economics and it shows their number as [redacted] and it is incorrect. There was a place to send them an email on their website for questions and I told them their number was incorect and someone better call me. I got a call on my cell and only the numbers [redacted] showed up. I told the person everthing I said here about the # being incorrect and she said she didn't know anything about that and hung up. When I tried to call back the number went to a recording from [redacted] that the number could not be reached. These compnay is frauding people out of their money and an investigation needs to be done on them.!Desired Settlement: A fraud investigation against this company.

Response:

Thank you for the opportunity to respond to the above referenced complaint. We have reviewed both the complaint and our records and would like to indicate the following:1. Our telephone number is indeed [redacted] and has been for many years. We receive hundreds of calls every day at this telephone number and can't really respond to the consumer's claim that our telephone number on the website is incorrect as we have checked it and it is correct. Perhaps the digits were transposed when dialed which may cause another individual to receive calls intended for our company but we cannot account for errors. Just as the account number referenced in the complaint had an extra 8 entered onto it,a person dialing a telephone number could very well make an error in dialing a 10 digit telephone number.2. It is not surprising that [redacted] had never heard of Bureau of Medical Economics nor any payments to our agency from this consumer because this bill is not associated with the hospital's facility billing office. This bill is for physicians that are contracted to deliver emergency care at [redacted] and is a separate company just as the radiology and pathology groups delivering services at the hospital are separate companies and employ their own billing and collection personnel. The consumer's payments were received and credited to her account. We have included an itemization of the credits to her account in this response.3. We received an email through our website that was somewhat confusing from a [redacted] on September 101h 2014. We have included a copy of the email to this reply for reference. A telephone number of [redacted] was given with instructions to call immediately. We have no account in our system for [redacted] so the email was given to an agent to call the numberto see how we could be of help. We contacted [redacted] at that number. She confirmed that her daughter was [redacted] and stated that our telephone number on the website was incorrect and that we needed to do something to correct it. She said that an "Oriental woman was getting calls all week long" that were meant for us. She stated that we were a fraudulent company and that she ([redacted]) had called [redacted] about us and that they had never heard of us and that they had never received the money her daughter had paid us. Because of strict Federal FDCPA and HIPAA statutes, our agent explained that we needed [redacted]'s permission to speak with her ([redacted]) about the situation. [redacted] stated that she had filed a complaint with the [redacted] and the [redacted] on our company and contended that we knew that our company was a fraud. We really couldn't give [redacted] any information because of the above stated regulations.4. The next day, 9/11/14,our office did receive a call from [redacted] at our office [redacted] who advised us that we had her permission to speak with her mother, [redacted]. It seems apparent that our telephone number worked for [redacted] on that date.5. Our agent called [redacted] at [redacted] and left a message for a return call. There has been no return call to date.6. The reason that our calls show [redacted] when they are received is, again, to address regulations concerning consumer privacy should a third party be observing the Caller ID. When an agent from our office contacts a consumer we have protocol for assuring that we have identified the correct party prior to sharing any information regarding a debt.We trust the above explanations will help with any misunderstanding existing on this matter. Please let us know if there is any further way we may be of assistance.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution would be satisfactory to me. I will wait until for the business to perform this action and, if it does, will consider this complaint resolved.

My complaint was that I could not reach them at their number listed. It rang at a ladies house who said she gets at least one call a week. When I contacted the Hospital billing department for my balance due, I was told it was the same and they have never heard of this company. I went to their website and sent an email for someone to contact me. When they did their number came up with on the area code [redacted]. When I told her about the wrong phone number she shuffled it off. I later tried the phone number and it worked, so maybe everyone is dialing it incorrectly at times. I came to find out that the bill they were collecting was not from the Hospital, but the ER Dr. who never did contact me about owing them anything. So I guess this is a legitimate company.

Regards,

Review: This Company Bureau of Medical Economics, I have received harassing phone calls from them. I disputed their incorrect information via letters and a cease and desist letter. I did not receive any services and their information is incorrect. This bill is in regards to an ER visit to the hospital of my son. We paid our co pay to the hospital and this doctor that has charged me was not available as he was busy with other emergency patients. By the time we waited, the hospital nurses passed by and we asked that we be signed out because my son had a false alarm stomach ache and nothing more. My son was never treated by any doctor that they have charged me 670.00. The hospital signed us out and we left. I told the collections company that they have the wrong information and it has been disputed in writing several times. They report every month to all credit agencies incorrectly and are bringing my credit score down. I have no unpaid bills in 20 years! Not one. I would like this collection agency to update the correct information and delete this incorrect bill on my account.Desired Settlement: I would like this company to remove the incorrect collections information from my credit report to all three credit agencies as they are attempting to collect on services not rendered and formally already disputed.

Response:

Thank you for the opportunity to respond to this complaint.

Upon checking with [redacted] Associates, we received the following information:

The patient was examined and was in the treatment area several hours. Dr. [redacted], after reviewing the case, ordered lab tests and a CT scan of the abdomen. He also ordered an IV be started on the patient.

The medical records show, however, that the patient stated that he was feeling better and had refused the CT scan and the IV and was discharged.

While a physician may not be at the bedside of a patient in the emergency department (many functions can be done by his physician's assistant or nurse) his time and expertise are essential to review the case and direct the proper course.

The billing records indicate that the health insurance company, [redacted] issued payment for these services to the subscriber. [redacted] Associates have received no payment at all.

We have deleted this item from the consumer's credit profile pending resolution of this dispute.

Sincerely,

Consumer

Review: I have requested multiple times for Bureau of Medical Economics (Collection Agency) to validate the debt, but I have not received a single response from them till date.

I sent them my first letter for validation of Debt on March 19,2013 and they received the certified mail# ([redacted]) on March 22nd, 2013. I waited few months for their response but did not hear anything from them. So, Again on July 30th 2013 – I sent them another letter requesting them to validate the Debt via certified mail# ([redacted]) which they received on August 2nd 2013.

Now it has been over 5 months since my first request for debt validation and they have failed to validate the debt or even supply a response. I have no knowledge or record of this medical debt with account #[redacted] reporting on my credit reports. Bureau of Medical Economics has violated FCRA laws by failing to properly validate the debt - they have not sent any debt validation or any document to prove this account belongs to me, I am very upset about their inaccurate information on my credit report.Desired Settlement: Validate or delete the account from my credit report

Response:

Dear Revdex.com,

Thank you for the opportunity to respond to this complaint. We have deleted the item from the consumer's credit profile pending resolution and validation of this account.

Our client's records indicate that the balance in collections is the consumer's deductible per his health insurance policy. Our agency received mail return on prior notices mailed to an address in Tempe, AZ.

We are mailing an itemization of charges and the signed Conditions of Admission to the consumer's updated address in Tennessee as provided by the certified letter received in our office on 8/1/2013.

Thank you.

Review: I began receiving collection calls in July 2015, from this business regarding a medical bill that was incurred in October 2012. I had never received any letters or collection notices in writing. When I called and spoke to a representative at BME, I was told that the invoice from Oct. 2012 was from Premier Emergency Medical Services from a visit at Chandler Regional Medical Center. This hospital visit was billed through Dignity Health and an income-based reduction was applied to all of the bills related to the hospital visit. The bills were combined and a reduced amount was paid in 2013. I asked the agent why I had not received anything in writing. She said it was likely because of our change in address, but when she reviewed the account she confirmed that nothing had been mailed to me since February 2013. I informed her that the debt was settled through Dignity Health and that I would file a complaint.Desired Settlement: This debt should be dismissed with no adverse affect on my credit rating. No further collection actions should be pursued.

Business

Response:

Thank you for the opportunity to respond to this complaint. We have reviewed our records and consulted with the billing office of Premier Emergency Medical Group regarding this account. This account in the amount of $231.96 was assigned to the agency on 2/5/2013. Our records indicate that the balance is the co-pay amount due from the subscriber per the patient's insurance, Health Net. We included an itemized statement of the bill for reference. The emergency physicians do not receive reimbursement from the hospital facility, Dignity Health in this case, but bill separately. They do not mirror any reductions that are offered at the hospital for financial aid. Also, since the account was already billed and paid by Health Net, a reduction of the self-pay balance is not allowable per the policy's stipulations. There had already been an adjustment applied to the account per the contracted rate with Health Net.Our account notes indicate that bills were sent by our office on 2/6/2013, 3/26/13 and 5/21/15. Our office received a call from Mrs. Light on 3/14/13 stating that they had applied for financial aid and that she would be calling in a few weeks to set up a payment plan for this balance. On 4/5/13 we were asked to hold the account for charity reduction consideration by a person named [redacted]. We checked and found that [redacted] is not with Premier Emergency Medical Group. We assume this individual was with the hospital facility, which is not the correct creditor.Today we reviewed the account with our client's billing office for any updates. They stated that the balance is still $231.96 and that there was no charity application received by their office. On 5/20/15 a message was left for a call back to discuss this account and another bill was sent to the consumer. We received a call back on 6/2/15 in which the consumer was wondering why we sent another bill. He stated that he thought he had paid this bill. Our office asked him to look for payment information so that we could verify the payment with our client. It appears that this consumer has the facility charge and the emergency physician charge confused. We will delete this account from the consumer's credit report if payment is received. Please let us know if there is further information necessary to close this complaint.

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

I am attempting to contact premier medical in person to determine an acceptable settlement amount.

Review: I was asked for a huge deposit on an apartment due to three items listed on my credit report in which I was unaware of until this morning. This company was asked as of early last year to submit an itemized statement of the amount due to services rendered in order for me to pay on the hospital bill. Instead they sent and continued to send up until late last year a single later listing four separate amounts centering around hospital visit/ x-ray or something for till this day I am still unclear. Well, when I noticed they were not going to comply with my request I sent them an extensive letter indicating I will pay $25.75 monthly until paid in full (due to my disability status--I cannot work). On the check they cashed, it states " By cashing this check you are accepting the payment plan of $25.75 monthly." Well, to my disbelief these accounts ended up on my credit report as not being paid (I do not have credit cards, car note etc..so I never check my report until today). FALSIFYING CREDIT REPORTING INFORMATION CAUSED A BIG ISSUE OVER A $309.00 DEBT IN WHICH YOU ARE RECEIVING PAYMENTS ON. They have entered three separate lines in which each amount was given a separate account number and they also indicated no payments were being made. This has caused my credit score to go down significantly--losing a total of 147 points to be exact. I am not clear why this company refused to send an itemized statement in the first place and I am unclear to why they purposely reported this single account (as they define it on the letter sent to me) as three separate incidents. Amounts are $158.00 (charge unknown but willing to pay). $ 66.00 (charge unknown but willing to pay) and $85.00 (charge unknown but willing to pay). Upon cashing my last check this month this company reported to [redacted] that payments were not being made and report derogatory coding on my report under each one listed. If you are cashing my checks and taking my payments ( in which I have check copies from the bank ) then why are you reporting false information. From your history with Revdex.com it looks as if this is an ongoing, unethical billing tactic and practice within your organization. THE ACCOUNT NUMBER IN WHICH PAYMENTS WERE BEING PROCESSED UNDER IS AS FOLLOWS: [redacted]. THE PAYMENTS WERE ALWAYS MAILED AND CASHED FROM THE FACILITY LISTED UNDER [redacted]Desired Settlement: Upon receipt of final payment of what is listed (in which you report on my credit report and which you erroneously indicate you are not receiving payment), I would like all three entries removed promptly. From what I see on my report the total of the three entries comes to a grand total of $309.00. This payment will be made in one lump sum. I will also, need a statement from your organization indicating those three entries were indeed medical bills and your company was unable to provide an itemized statement for the charges.

Revdex.com Complaint ID# [redacted]

Dear

Thank you for the opportunity to respond to the above referenced complaint.

We have reviewed the consumer’s accounts referred to our agency which are:

File # Original Creditor Date Assigned Amt. Assigned Balance as of 6/30/14

#[redacted] 4/22/2013 $168.67 $ 102.29

#[redacted] 4/8/2013 $ 85.13 $ 85.13

#[redacted] 1/31/2013 $ 158.40 $ 158.40

We have not received any communication from this consumer directly on any of these accounts until this past week when we received this complaint from the Revdex.com and

also a complaint from the credit reporting agencies ([redacted] & [redacted]) requesting account information (an itemized statement to validate the debts is being forwarded to the debtor as well as being sent as an attachment to this response).

We have not received a check in the amount of $25.75 at the agency and have contacted the providers involved to inquire if there was such a check received by them. Both providers confirmed that they have not received such a check. We can only assume that the check Ms. [redacted] is referring to was perhaps remitted to the hospital facility or another provider involved that is not a client of the Bureau of Medical Economics.

We had received a copy of a letter that was mailed to [redacted]’s offices back in July 2013 (a copy is attached) that states that Ms. [redacted] was working through [redacted] and that she was going to be sending $30.00 monthly payments. We duly noted her account but the monthly payments were not received and subsequently the balances due were correctly reported to Ms. [redacted]’s credit profile since that commitment wasn’t kept.

No payment was received on Ms. [redacted]’s account until a $25.00 payment was received on check #[redacted] on 1/27/14 and then another payment on check #[redacted] in the amount of $77.29 which posted to her account on 5/8/14.

It appears that Ms. [redacted] had a misunderstanding about the check for $25.75, therefore we are ordering the accounts deleted from her credit record but we also wish to advise her that there is no obligation for the agency to do so. We would suggest that should she find she has an account with a collection agency in the future, that contacting the agency directly would be the most expedient way to work out a payment arrangement.

We have since learned that Ms. [redacted] has contacted [redacted] on 7/1/14 and paid her remaining balance in full with a credit card payment. [redacted] Associates also advised us that she had given them her credit card payment information on 7/1/14, which is pending processing by their office.

We thank Ms. [redacted] for resolving her accounts. Please let us know if there is any further clarification needed to close this complaint.

Review: I have no idea what I am being billed for. I am trying to clean up my credit and noticed collections items from this company on my credit report. I had assumed it was from the hospital and called to see how I could clear this up. They told me it was not from the hospital and I asked them to send me statements then to show me what they were for. They refuse to send me any statements or any information to prove that I owe money to anyone. I would like to clear things up but I am not going to just pay them money for nothing. All I want are statements showing what I owe for and to whom or remove these collections from my credit report.Desired Settlement: I want statements showing what the charges are for or the three collection items removed from my credit report.

Response:

Thank you for the opportunity to respond to this complaint. Unfortunately, we have no record of receiving the first Revdex.com alert on email for this consumer. We have mailed this consumer the attached itemized statements showing the charges for three dates of service delivered by [redacted]l Group, the physicians that are contracted with [redacted] to deliver emergency services in their emergency department. The total amount owed on these three accounts is $1092.60.We have deleted these accounts from the consumer's credit profile in order to allow her an opportunity to receive the requested information and to make payment on these accounts. Please let us know if there is any further information needed to close this complaint.
