California Republic Bank Auto Reviews (53)

We've have a auto loan the CRB. They have to have the worst trained staff I've ever talked to. Worse than oversea phone centers. If you want to have some fun with them, call and after you get the we are recording this for training.... tell them OK and I'm recording this too. They hang up without saying a word. I guess they don't want you to have any record of what they say.

Review: We live in [redacted] and have our car financed through California Republic Bank Auto. We have been making payments each month since the beginning. In Feb of this year we had a misc fee posted that we knew nothing about. When I made my payment for the car, the bank paid the misc fee and my actual car payment fell short. Again, never told about this. Since then we have been getting late notices and we didnt know why. When I finally figured it out I started calling and everyone I spoke so said it would be taken care of and we still get late notices. Last week we spoke to Alma who stated the only way to take care of this was to defer a payment, pay all the late fees to be current but she needed approval to do that. We have been waiting for over a week to hear that approval and everytime I call her she either does not have an answer for she flat out does not call back. I am sick and tired of how this billing issue and customer service issue is being handled.Desired Settlement: At this point I would like to have all of the 133.00 in late fees removed completely. I have never missed a payment and I will continue to make my monthly payments on time. I want all late fees removed.

Response:

Upon review of our records, it was determined that there was a misunderstanding on our part of an email sent by [redacted] asking to apply a portion of her payment to fees. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused and have since reversed fees assessed as a courtesy to [redacted], and thank her for bringing this matter to our attention.

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is in fact true. However, while resolved, they made me look bad on my credit because of the way it was corrected. I had to defer a payment and the reasoning they put was "financial hardship" It was not a financial hardship on my part at all, rather a mistake make by their company, which they admitted too.

Regards,

Very rude customer service. The women that called her name is [redacted] she was very rude and argumentive. She did a poor job with handling the sitituaton and had the odasity to say, "she doesn't like to be lied to." What kind if customer service says that.I told her the person she is looking for I don't speak to or affaliate myself with but still ask the question on why my number is on the list of reference. She needs to know buyers are liers!!!!! She did not handle the situation at all no she was NOT PERFESONAL at all.

Review: California Republic Bank Auto has been incredibly deceptive, and misleading in the way they bill their customers. The bill advertises a money amount, without stating the interest owed. I tried to pay off my bill, but only later found out that while I thought I was finished, I was continually being charged more interest for an entire month before I was sent another bill. I was then told that I would have to pay off the interest for the next 10 days, because there is no way to pay other than by mail. Convenient, isn't it? While my check is mailed and processed, they get to continue collecting interest? And the amount I pay is an "estimate" of how long it will take to process. So misleading. So dishonest. So unethical. I expected more.Desired Settlement: I would like a refund of the interest amount charged between my receiving the first statement, and my receipt of the next statement (as I didn't even know I owed any more during that time, and all the while the company continued to charge interest).

Response:

We regret that [redacted] was not satisfied with her CRB Auto experience. I would like to direct [redacted] attention to the statement prominently listed on the front of each statement that advises our customers that the amount shown is not a payoff amount. In the event of a payoff, all customers should call to get a 10 day payoff estimate in order to avoid a payoff amount that does not completely cover all outstanding interest amounts. If the account is paid off within that 10 day period, the payoff will be considered to be in full, with any excess interest refunded to the customer. This practice is a credit industry standard, and is in no way meant to be deceptive or an attempt to take advantage of our good customers.

Review: Back to Back calls stating account due for payment, when account only 15 days out and not over 30 days. Supervisor I spoke with stated in a voice recording that they shouldn't be calling because account isn't past 30 days. Only reason they would call would be as a courtesy reminder. why would a company call twice back to back at the same time each day and hang up on me than when I call back they laugh and hang up on me than state no payment information is visible when Oct 21st at 4:45 pm a payment was already scheduled through a manager. Called again and spoke with another rep and manager and they both located the payment scheduled and confirmation number right away. The rep who keeps calling me didn't even want to talk to me as soon as she pulled up my account she immediately transferred me to her manager and than the manager was stating she didn't have my information in front of her but than continues to verify me and my information. She failed to do her due diligence and search the account to find my payment previously scheduled. I stated to her that she was harassing me and a complaint would be filed. She hangs up and calls me back from a blocked number and says " why did you hang up" than continues to laugh out loud and hangs up on me. All this was recorded by me and I have sent all the recordings to upper management for complaints and reprimands to handed out. Very rude and degrading they put you down and laugh at you even if your account isn't due for payment. I feel attacked each time they call me and have no resort but to yell because I shouldn't be attacked or demeaned when my account isn't even due for payment. This is a constant occurrence by the individuals who service loans in California. Very very disrespectful and lack professionalism. If evidence is needed I can email or forward the recordings to whom ever needs them in order to get these two individuals reprimanded or written up for their actions and scare tactics to be changed.Desired Settlement: I want the two reps [redacted] and [redacted] to be written up and reprimanded . After I want them to apologize to me for the constant harassment and making me upset after I previously had non evasive surgery and making me more ill. I want them to be trained better so they understand that scare tactics do not work and the customer is always right when it comes to assisting them with their loans. I need them to be seriously put on suspension or probation for their actions or a lawsuit will follow if these actions persist.

Response:

I accept the business response to the matter, but would need to know how it was addressed? They could say it has been addressed just to close out the complaint. I need to know how this important issue was corrected!

Review: I had made arrangements to late pay CRB auto for the monthly loan payment. Before that payment was due I obtained refinancing of the auto loan. The estimated payout was the same day as the prior arranged payment. I contacted CRB and explained this to them several days before the loan closed. They told me they could not cancel the payment scheduled for 8/7/15 since I was late. I told them the loan was approved and awaiting payout, which they received on 8/10/15. The account how has credit balance because they took out the payment after I requested not to.

Now they are saying that they can not return the +/- $450 taken out for 4 to 12 weeks. I understand the issue with the payment coming out and their policy about that. But it is entirely unacceptable that they want to keep the extra $450 for 1 to 3 months now.Desired Settlement: I would like the funds repaid within 3 business days.

Response:

Since [redacted] submitted his complaint via multiple avenues, we will be addressing at the highest level, which will be via the Federal Reserve Bank (FRB, as submitted to the CFPB), and will, therefore, not be addressing in duplicate via this Revdex.com complaint. [redacted] should await formal resolution communication from the FRB.

This bussiness has billing issues,

once its time I want to pay for my car their website connects you to a third party where by its even not going through.

When you try to call them the recorded thing takes you in a merry go round until am tired,

I cant even get through to a customer service representive.

I think this bussiness is out to charge for illegal late payment fees on there customers and or maybe even reposes the car,

This is pupposly done and its their fault because we cannot pay online or by calling' nothing.

Someone needs to take action on this california republic auto.

Review: I contacted CRB and made a one time payment by phone from my checking account. The representative, [redacted], asked me when I would be making another payment. I told her I would call back to make another payment. 2 weeks later, [redacted] took it upon herself to use my checking account information from the previous payment to process another payment without my authorization. I contacted [redacted] and spoke to her supervisor, [redacted] and demanded a rever[redacted] of the charges. [redacted] proceeded to tell me he would listen to the tape of the conversation and get back with me. I agreed and encouraged him to do so. Not only did he not call me back, but he will not answer my calls. I know such a practice can't be legal. I want this charge reversed and any fees charged by my bank reimbursed as well. I wish I could press charges!Desired Settlement: Full refund of the unauthorized payment and reimbursement of fees charged by my bank.

Review: I used CRB auto for an auto loan. In March 2015 I had sold the vehicle and paid the auto loan off. The vehicle was a [redacted] truck and I had purchased additional factory warranty for the vehicle. I was told I becuase I sold the vehicle before that warranty expired I could get a refund. So I went to a [redacted] dealer and processed that refund. A couple weeks later I received a refund check from [redacted] but it was made out to both myself and CRB Auto. I assume [redacted] made it out to the both of us becuase they were listed as the leinholder and if I had defaulted on the loan, they would get the money.

My problem is, I called CRB Auto on May 4th, 2015 and spoke to a women that assured me that if I signed the check and sent it to them, they would endorse the check and send me a refund check in my name alone. This is after confirming I had completely paid off the loan so that no money was owed to them. So I sent them the endorsed check the next day. I called on June 3, 2015 and talked to [redacted] or [redacted] and she would not tell me if they received the check or if they processed it. I even asked for conformation in the letter I wrote to them with the check.Desired Settlement: I want the refund of this check and at least some acknoledgement that it is being processed quickly and given a reasonable time frame of which I should expect to receive it.

Response:

[redacted] complaint has been received. In an effort to investigate this complaint fully, we need detail as to [redacted] contentions. We apologize if he did not receive appropriate customer service and wish to know the particulars so that we can address his concerns. We also would also like more detail regarding [redacted] general allegation of fraud, as his complaint does not explain what activity he has deemed fraudulent.

Review: I previously filed a complaint for inaccurate credit reporting, CRB responded to say they would remove the information from my credit report -- removed it like promised but re-added it 2 weeks later. It is showing 30 days delinquent as of 4/2015. I'm in the middle of a mortgage loan and this game is putting my home in jeopardy.Desired Settlement: Fix my credit report and don't change it again
