The charges are incorrect, our business transaction(s) was/were unsatisfactory Their website states: "Cancelling your subscription takes your site offline immediately" We did this and they continued to bill us What they declared was not delivered, promised This is very misleading Bottom Line: We cancelled out our service with squarespace in June of They've been billing us after our cancellation from them

I had purchased from an independent pearl consultant who stated that the items she was selling were realWhen they arrived, they were fakeThey were painted beads I contacted customer service asking for help to get a refund because the seller would not respond to me after I showed her the pictures of the paint chipped off of the beads Customer service offered no help and told me they do not offer any buyer protectionThey allow people to use their site and sell anything they want and if the items are not as they should be, they do not offer any help

I initiated service with Squarespace on I received email correspondence up until alerting me that my domain was scheduled for renewal on On 122016, days prior to my renewal date, I contacted Squarespace customer care and asked if it would possible to cancel my domain renewal and receive a refund for the pending charge on bank accountSeveral representatives told me this would not be the case despite being within the realm of time allotted for cancellationIf it necessary to cancel before days, all correspondence should accurately reflect that notion

Squarespace is currently advertising a Basic Personal Website option: billing at $8/month annuallyI have screenshots if needed from squarespace.com/pricing I paid a web designer and she went in and designed a lovely site for a our companyWhen I went to upgrade out of the free trail to push the site LIVE to the web, I was prompted for a completely different price of $12/month annually I immediately started a LIVE CHAT with customer service (Michelle) trying to resolve the issue but unfortunately each representative that I have spoken with has refused to honor their CURRENTLY ADVERTISED PRICE! I am being told that the pricing which is ADVERTISED is "a limited test run that's randomly generated depending on when you click the link." (So the price of $8/month which has been posted for at least a month is randomly generated on a website to lure in customers?) Their form of a resolution is to offer me 10% off of my first yearThat is unacceptable to me! I reached

I requested that Squarespace Incto send me check for the deposits that they have been holding for me on October **The check for $was suppose to arrive the first week of November but it didntThen I was told the check had been cut and would arrive the following week I have not heard from the company since despite numerous attempts to contact them by phone and email When I tried to use their community board to contact them I was banned

I WENT TO SQUARESPACE BECAUSE THEY ADVERTISED THAT THEY HAD BEAUTIFUL FUNCTIONAL WEBSITE TEMPLATES, I SIGNED UP AND PAID SQUARESPACE FOR 5 MONTHS 1-*-16 THRU 5-*-16. I BUILD THE WEBSITE AND I FOUND OUT ITS NOT THAT BEAUTIFUL AND IT DOES NOT FUNCTION CORRECTLY MEANING IT'S FULL OF BUGS. I ASKED THEM ABOUT BUTTON CUSTOMIZATION AND WHY DID VIDEOS NOT PLAY ON MY WEBSITE, SQUARESPACE TOLD ME THAT THEY HAVE NO TIME FRAME IN WHICH THEY WOULD FIX THE BUGS LEAVING ME PAYING MONTH AFTER MONTH WITH NO FUNCTIONAL WEBSITE. THEY DENIED ME A FULL REFUND FOR THE 5 MONTHS I PAID, THEY ONLY GAVE ME A REFUND FOR 2 MONTHS AT $26 DOLLARS A MONTH. ALSO THEY CANCELLED MY ACCOUNT FOR NO REASON AND GAVE ME A PARTIAL REFUND.

I purchased a domain name *** and combined this with my at the time boyfriendSince then we have broken up and he has locked me out of three accountI have contacted Squarespace for access and they will not provided because he has made himself the sole ownerMy domain *** now points to his site atlantasanctuarywellness.com which are two different companiesAll I'm asking for is my domain name in which I have paid for and I proved Squarespace and theyou are refusing to acknowledge

Horrible! They automatically charged me and renewed my subscription even though I canceled months ahead of timeCustomer support was horrible and refused to help me in any wayI ended up having to dispute the charge with my bankStay far away from Squarespace!

Squarespace changed its SSL requirements which caused our website to be inaccessibleSquarespace assured me that the site would be back up in less than hours which is absolutely unacceptable, but despite my numerous attempts to shorten that time period, Squarespace refused to budgeIt has now been over hours and the site is still downThere is no way to reach them by phoneSquarespace only provides a Live Chat and even that isn't available on the weekendsOur business is being affected every minute our site is down!

I have been trying to get my site canceled for a week now and have been shuffled around and they refuse to help me without my DL being emailed to themI have answered everything they wanted to confirm including partial account numbers, etcI have finally been able to log in but cannot confirm it canceled and they will not even tell me if it worked! I am being charged each month and can prove that and they will not help meTerrible terrible customer serviceI just want and need to know I will no longer be billed

I have had a template website for several years now with Squarespace and they used to offer phone support for technical or other issues They apparently do not offer that now and as such the customer service is terrible! I was in an emergency situation yesterday and needed my login password checked for something was wrong and I could not login and needed it for location google maps for my daughter was in life or death situation I could not reach anyone online for they were "experiencing high volume of chats" NO phone number is given what so ever now The interface is great but if you get zero tech support and no phone support then I don't hardly think it is worth it Will be taking business and domain elsewhere

A web site was built for me using the Squarespace platformThe website was not effective so I decided to use another web developerThe other web developer transferred the domain name effectively ending any business relationship I had with SquarespaceThree months later I had $taken out of my account for what they claim is an auto renewal when ther is nothing to renewI do not have a website with them and receive zero services from themThey refuse to refund my moneyThis is basically theft and apparently the company is run by totally unethical peopleHow can you take money for not providing any services?

Our organization was looking for a site creator to share with our membersWe were recommended SquareSpace (SS) by many different sources, so we checked them outEverything looked awesome, everything you'd need for a basic websiteSo we decided to sign up to a free trial while we try it out, with the full intent to upgrade at the end of the trial if everything was what we were expecting
The site build was greatEverything was very easy to get to and I was able to master the various elements of detailed site alteration within a few hoursOur trial passed without a hitch, and we were prepared to upgrade to the full version via the one-time billed-annually personal optionThat option is currently (at the time of this review posting) advertised on SS's price page as $8/month (if billed annually) or $12/month (month-to-month)
Now is where the negative review comes inWhen prompted to upgrade, we were taken to the screen that shows the various options for checkoutOur option for the personal account upgrade was now listed at $12/month (if billed annually) or $16/month (month-to-month) - a $increase for each option, with no reasoning providedWe thought, well perhaps in the weeks, they have changed their pricesSo we pulled up SS's price page again, but it's still showing $8/month (if billed monthly) and $12/month (month-to-month)
So, in effect, the clearly advertised prices were somehow not applicable to our siteWhether that's because we had taken part in the trial first, or they changed their backdoor prices, or whatever, it's still wrongI would say that this is either a case of advertising or that they are specifically price gouging their post-trial customers
When we first saw the difference, we messaged the support team asking what was going on, why we were seeing two completely different prices for the same productThe first responder did not address our question because he seemed to misunderstand(He addressed how it's $8/month if billed annually but $if going month to month, which we already knew)We replied clarifying and asking our question againA second responder addressed our questionHowever, his response was "We are actively testing different plan discount rates for a small number of new sitesThis is ultimately helping us understand how to better serve all of our customers." - which to me reads as complete BS, and still doesn't address why their listed prices are different than the prices we were offeredI sent a final response telling them effectively everything I've put in this review, and asking for our trial site to be deletedA third responder replied with helpful info about how to go about deleting our site and again saying "sorry for the inconvenience" of their price gouging
So yes, SquareSpace is a fantastic site builder with fluid learning and detail options for running your siteThis is why we gave it stars instead of oneThe developers did their job well, and IF this is a product you purchase, you will be happyHowever, be warned that what they advertise as their pricing structure and what you're actually offered may be two very different things
Thanks,
HAND

Customer service is non existent, requires you to log in even though you are already logged into your siteIt will not allow me to log into helpI am unable to access helpThey claim to have the easiest site builder but you have to have extensive knowledge to understand what to doHelp screens and videos are no help

My wife passed months ago and I have tried to get rid of non-essential costs I deleted my two websites and the following month I still got charged I figured I had made a mistake when doing so So I cancelled again Today I got two charges from you...again This time it wiped out my bank account and I have to pay extra money just to cover your technical error I tried to contact someone to get a refund issued and there is absolutely no way to reach anyone I tried finding a phone number, non I tried using chat, wasn't given the option I sent an email, no response Went on twitter, no response I want a refund and I want you guys to take a look at your customer service I am beyond livid I can handle a technical screw up Those I understand But you lose all of my respect and send me on the offense when your customer service sucks because it shows you don't care about your customers Unless that is the truth then you need a serious customer service overhaul I wou

I have had a very negative experience with Squarespace over the last several years
In 2016, my site was set to auto-renewI attempted to pay ahead of the renew date, only to run into a bug on the site that prevented me from completing paymentIt took days for the customer service representatives to find the problem and process my credit card, during which time my website was completely unavailable
I figured that was a one-off issue, and continued doing business with this companyBut when my site was set to renew in 2017, Squarespace double-charged me, billing me once at a $"legacy rate" and once at a higher $rateWhen contacted, they merely refunded the legacy rate charge, and made me pay the higher rate instead
Now, in 2018, my site came up for renewal once moreThis time my credit card was automatically charged for the $"legacy rate", but despite getting my money, my site was immediately listed as "expired" and was inaccessible
I have been working with Squarespace's customer service, especially the representative identified as Thomas W., for a week and a half now while my site remains downDespite repeated requests to honor their uptime SLA, which includes a provision for compensation when a site is down, Thomas Whas refused to offer any kind of compensation (or even an apology!) He has also refused to escalate the matter to a supervisor, again despite repeated requests
I'd like to stress that these renewal payments were automatically processed by Squarespace using a card on file; there was no input on my partIf they charged me a legacy rate when they meant to charge a higher one, the fault was entirely on their end - I did not make any pricing selections, they just ran my credit card when the renewal date came aroundI provided a valid credit card and abided by Squarespace's TOSI feel that all mistakes were entirely on Squarespace's part, and I am hugely dissatisfied that they would turn around and attempt to charge a higher rateI feel that this is a bait-and-switch tactic used to squeeze extra money out of their customers, and I'm extremely upset that they would try this on a long-term customer
This has been an extremely unsatisfying customer service experience, and I would strongly recommend that anyone seeking a web hosting solution look elsewhereI certainly will myself!

My experience with Squarespace has been 90% horribleSo much so that I practically gave up on my dream of building my websiteFor one, their site is extremely difficult to operate in every way and there is little to no support WHATSOEVERThey boast in their advertisements that they have "24/award winning customer service." WHERE? I have struggled with issues alone for days at a time and reaching someone, ANYONE, is next to impossibleI have since switched hosts, & now I cant even direct my domain, that I paid for, to my new site & I have attempted MULTIPLE TIMES to contact Squarespace to help me with this....IMPOSSIBLEThere is practically no way to contact themThey will string you along with questions and have you type out a long, explanatory issue only to pop up a GENERIC, basic, information pageNo human helpNo phone numberINSANEI will never do business with them or recommend them to anyone, everI need my domain for my new site & it is my stong opinion that the site is not allowing me to transfer it, like a glitchAnywayI wish I couldve said better because I had high hopes for using their software but it was a waste of time and money and a huge cause of frustration that I would have much rather avoided
