Review: I was pushed into buying a product from a door to door salesman. The meat I purchased is a terrible quality and was only purchased to make the man leave my home.Desired Settlement: I only would like my $184.00 returned. I will return the product, I just want my money back.

Dear **. [redacted],

We are in receipt of your letter dated 8/20/13 from **. [redacted] regarding a complaint she has with some of our products. We have no record of any contact from **. [redacted] prior to this letter. Had we been informed by **. [redacted], we would have most certainly attempted to address her dissatisfaction with our product.

We are sorry to hear **. [redacted] is unhappy with her purchase, and we will be happy to replace it with the same item or another of equal value of her choosing. Our guarantee and return policy can be found online at: http://www.capitalmeats.com/faq.cfm. Unfortunately, without receiving a written request to rescind your order via certified mail within 3 days of purchase, we are unable to offer a refund. As I'm sure you are aware, because of strict USDA guidelines, we are unable to resell any product once it has left our inspected facilities. As we'd have no way to guarantee the proper handling of meat once it leaves our hands, we are forced to uphold and maintain this return policy at all times.

Although our policy states that we guarantee product against freezer burn only, we sell an excellent product that we completely stand behind. With thousands of boxes we sell across our company each week, there will occasionally be a box that doesn't meet our high standards, and we are happy to replace that product.

We continue to be ready to work with **. [redacted] to reach a desired resolution. The number to our customer service department is ###-###-#### and is open Monday through Friday 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.

Regards,

Thank you,

Review: 2 men driving a van with "capital meats" advertising on it trying to sell meat door to door came to my neighborhood today. One of the men came to my house & proceeded to knock on my bedroom window. He wanted to talk about buying something from him. While at the window he continued to stare into my bedroom while talking to me about buying what he offered. The only way to get him away from my window & to stop looking into to it was to go outside. I meant him outside & he proceeded to try & sell me meat out of his van. His offer was that I could get a deal but only today that would be better then "buy one get one free". This man was not wearing anything that would identify him as an employee of this company. No shirt or jacket with a logo on it. He was dressed in baggy jeans & a black jacket. When I told him that I would like a business card or a brochure/menu of there products I was denied. He would not give his name either. The only information that was given was the website on the side of the truck & that I could pay in multiple ways including EBT? After the individual would not give me any information regarding the products he was selling & I finally got him to understand that I would not buy anything from a van that just happened to be neighborhood. He finally walked away (leaving my gate open) & toward the van covered with "Capital Meats" advertising as the other man that was at my neighbors house drove down to the end of my street. For his partner to start driving away after being at my neighbors house seemed a little out of the ordinary as well. This is extremely unprofessional & uncalled for. It is also very unnerving knowing that a business would conduct themselves in this manner. I am extremely annoyed & consider this an invasion of privacy on his & the companies behave. This day & age we live in there are a lot of burglaries & property being stolen every where. Not to mention the scams that go on daily. If he is not this company, then this is a very serious problem tha.Desired Settlement: I would like to know first that this was Capital Meat in my neighborhood. I believe that the owners/executives need to be aware of the way their "Door to Door" sales employee's are representing themselves, the companies brand and revisit the training of there employee's. They also need to know what is appropriate behavoir and all laws in regards to the publics privacy. I would appreciate a response that the company is aware of this incident and that it will not happen again.

Review: I ordered meat from their door salesman on 8/15/2013 around 3/4pm for the amount of $417.90 with my debit card. I called the following morning on 8/16/2013 when their corporate office opened at 9am. I explained to the lady, [redacted], that I was displeased with my order and was requesting a full refund. She explained that since it was 3 days within their returning policy, that it would not be a problem. And that all I needed to do was send a letter to their office stating that I'm requesting a full refund by certified mail and that as soon as they received the letter, they would notify their [redacted] location and someone would come out get the meat so that my refund could be issued. I also let her know that my debit card was expiring on 8/31/2013 and that this would need to be handled as soon as possible. Which she again told me would not be a problem, that she would make a note of it to management. So that same day, 8/16/2013, as soon as I got off the phone with her, I went to the local post office and sent the letter certified mail and made sure that I got a return letter stating when my letter was received by their corporate office. I got my return letter stating they received it on 8/19/2013. So I then called again. Again I talked with [redacted] and she stated that they just received mail so they would look through it and give me a call from there. I did not receive a callback so I called again, again I talked with [redacted] and she stated that she had it in her hand and that she was sending notification to their [redacted] office so they would call and come out. This was on either 8/20/13 or 8/21/13 that she said this. So everyday since then, I've tried calling, being on hold for 20-30 minutes waiting for someone to pick up and no one does. So I leave voicemails, which none of them have been returned at all. I have sent emails though their website and left messages on their Facebook page, just trying any way possible to get ahold of them and not getting any return calls. My boyfriend was able to get ahold of them today, 8/26/13, but they told him that they talked to me yesterday and stated again that they are sending notification to their [redacted] location. Which was a lie because no one has tried calling whatsoever and they told me they talked to the [redacted] location a week ago.

I need someone to help me actually get them to return my calls and get my refund issued. They said it would not be a problem but it has been nothing but a problem. I've reminded them constantly that my debit card 8/31/13, which is the end of this week, but they still aren't actually doing anything to issue my refund.Desired Settlement: I would like them to ACTUALLY call me and talk to me. I'd like them to actually come out and get this meat. And I would like them to ACTUALLY issue my full refund like they promised.

Review: Capital Meats has not refunded money paid for products returned. I have been waiting for reimbursement since Aug 21, 2014. I was told by the original salesman (who actually came to my home and took those products I wanted to return) that he would contact his manager who would be responsible for issuing my refund check. I did not receive a check and on Sep 14, 2014 contacted the Customer Service Rep using the phone number from their website. At that time I was told that no such request was ever submitted and she would initiate the process needed to refund my money.

I have documentation which includes context of conversation, dates, and promises made. I am still waiting to find out exactly "who" is going to issue my refund. I have been directed to several different people within the sales team and administration only to discover that I was talking to all the wrong people.

No one will take responsibility. I am due a pro-rated refund in the amount of $239.00 and have no Idea who calculated this figure. My original purchase totaled $357.00 ; the check was written out to 'Capital Meats' and cashed on Aug 21st. I had to pay for boxes I had opened and sampled.

My latest attempt was an email I sent to the CEO (so I was told) which detailed all of my issue; again with dates and promises.

I did receive a response from a Sales Manager that day who told me, "That salesman isn't on my Team". I am sending another email with information about this complaint. Whoever "they" are, they have been informed that I am submitting this complaint.Desired Settlement: I am due a refund in the amount of $238.00 - ? - for products I have already returned via a Sales Rep for Capital Meats. I want the refund.

Review: We purchased near 500 dollars worth of meat and most spoiled and freezer burned in a few months. The meat is suppose to be vaccuum sealed and is guaranteed for a year. We have called and called just to find no one will answer or even show up. We are tired of the hastle with this company with terrible customer service and the product is very poor. I would like for a refund. Worst company we have ever seen or dealt with.

Tired of dealing with the company and trying to get ahold of someone. We bought the meat in october 19 2012 and the meat went bad and had to be replaced in 11/13/12. Then it went bad again around January and we have not been able to get ahold of them since. Either no answer or they say they will call you back and they do not even ask for your name or phone number. We just want a refund for what meat is left.

Review: I PURCHED TWO BOXES OF COD AND ONE BOX OF SHRIMP. THE COD HAD A TASTE & FLAVOR I DID NOT LIKE, IT WAS NOT SPOILED. THE SHRIMP WAS SMALLER THAN WAS EXPECTED

THE YOUNG MAN _THE DRIVER OF THE TRUCK, TOLD ME, THE COMPANY STOOD BEHIND ALL THIER PRODUCTS, IF I WAS NOT PLEASED, THEY WOULD EITHER REPLACE THE ITEM OR REFUND THE COST. BY PHONE THAT PARTY TOLD ME HE WAS TOO FAR AWAY, WOULD I ACCEPT $25.00 IN A CHECK

I SAID I WOULD. NEVER REC'D ANYTHING OR HEARD NOTHING. FROM HIM , I THEN CALLED THE CO. COULDN'T GET AN ANSWER.Desired Settlement: $25 to $35 (see Attached document).

Review: I bought 4 cases of beef from capital meats a while back and it was awful the meat when you cooked it was very tough and it had lots of gristle all in it. it was very bad quality meat. I tried calling the girl the delivered the meat and she would not call me back so I called the main number and the lady told me that they had different quality's of meat according to how much you pay for the meat and after she said it she acted like she shouldn't have told me.and she said she would have the lady that delivered the meat to call me and they never called me back. so most of the 4 cases of meat went in the trash. THANKS CAPITAL MEATS not like its hard enough to feed my family..Desired Settlement: DesiredSettlementID: Replacement

its very easy replace the meat with something above dog food grade meat or a refund would be ok...

Review: We bought meat then decided to return it; the meet is still in its package and is kept in the freezer. We sent a written request by certified mail as they requested. Called repeatedly and were repeatedly told that the money would be refunded and after several weeks still received no refund. We have been trying to call more in the past two weeks but no one has been answering the phone. Left 3 voice mails and did not receive a call back.

Review: Mid June 2014 I ordered meat and product from Capital meats and never received my 2 orders of ribs. I have called them many times and left messages on voice recordings and Facebook and all I get is excuses or no call backs. I was told over the phone by Dawn I would get a refund since ribs were back ordered. I still do not have my refund or email confirmation of refund. I had the personal cell phone number of my sales person but was told he broke his phone. When the delivery was made with my other items I ordere he left all his trash, plastic, and card board in my garage for me to dispose of. The ribs were not here for my children birthday or 4th of July event. This experience has been a disaster and I read other reviews and I am not surprised.Desired Settlement: I was told value of ribs were $200.00 . It is hard to put a value on the headache and time wasted on this issue, not to mention not having the ribs available for my event and having to purchase my own. $300.00 refund is more realistic or a full refund of my order and all items can be picked up from my home.

Review: Some Capital Meat drivers were trying to unload some product off their truck last fall, and asked my husband if he would like to purchase. After negotiating the price, we purchased a case of chicken and a case of steak. The driver assured us if we didn't like the product we could call and they would exchange for another steak or chicken kind or flavor that they offered, no problem. I called the [redacted], VA office in early December to inquire about the policy and ask if we could exchange some steak for chicken, since we really didn't enjoy the steak and found it flavorless. The receptionist assured me the driver whom we purchased the product from would return our call. No one called me back, so I called again right after Christmas with the same question, and was again assured the driver would call me to arrange a time to make the exchange. It is now January 7th, a month after my initial call, and I have received no response from the company.Desired Settlement: I would really like for someone to call me ASAP to arrange a time to exchange the steak for chicken, or get a refund on the purchase price of the steak. I realize the holidays are a busy time of year, but I feel someone from the company should have called to arrange an exchange by now.

Review: A Capital Meat van pulled into my driveway and a man walked up to my door trying to see me stuff, he asked to come in the house to show me some steaks, etc. I said "no" so he decided that he would come in anyway!! He started unpacking the box of steak in my foyer and would not listen to me at all. When I told him I was not interested for the millionth time he got an attitude demanded to know why, saying what you don't have any money? He then started throwing his boxes from my house and snatched the brochure out of my hand. I slammed my door and locked it then he spit in my driveway and peeled off. I naturally started crying :) called [redacted] and when he got home we were able to drive around and find the van. I got the license plate number, phone number, and van number and plan to call during business hours tomorrow. I have read reviews online where people have had similar experiences and worse. Please do not open your door to capital meat vans, mine had the logo and flames on the sides. This guy really freaked me out!! I only opened the door because I thought it was UPS. I will not be opening my door again, ever :)

The Van License Plate was from [redacted] Van#[redacted]

[redacted],

I bought a box of steaks two years ago for a good price. Meat was delicious. I would buy again.

Review: A gentleman by the name of William L[redacted] came to our door selling us boxes of meat from Capital Meats. Mr. L[redacted] had worked for that company for quite a while and the company's product was always outstanding. Due to the credit crisis, we had to take a break from ordering for a bit, but Mr. L[redacted] still faithfully stopped by quarterly to check on us to see if we needed his product. Due to a family member's retirement, we were now able to purchase the product again. Mr. L[redacted] stopped by and sold us meat that was packaged in Capital Meat boxes. We spent a total of $813 with the company and he even packed the freezer for us. We finally fixed some of the meat on the grill and it wasn't all that good. The taste and texture was completely different. We initially thought that I may have over-cooked it, and tried it again about a week later. It was definitely the meat as the chicken quality and seasoning was completely different. I called the local company that sold this meat to us and they informed me that Mr. L[redacted] hadn't worked there in over a year. I asked them why he was selling meat using their boxes in which the secretary replied: "He must have stolen them out of our dumpster". Upon further dialog the secretary asked for pictures of the meat packing. I sent them to her and she said it wasn't their meat and was from a company called [redacted] Meat. She said she would contact the manager and they would get in touch with us. They never did. I called back and still was unable to get anywhere with them. Negative things were said about Mr. L[redacted] and he apparently left the company because he owed them money according to what she said. Well, just a couple of days ago, Mr. L[redacted] pulled up again in a Capital Meats van and I expressed that we were unhappy with the product. He said he was sorry to hear that and he would fix it when he comes back in September. This rubbed me the wrong way and I closed the door to immediately call the local branch. The same secretary answered the phone and now, all of a sudden, Mr, L[redacted] works there again. Why would you willingly hire an employee that you know misrepresented and damaged the brand of your company? She had no satisfactory answer. She basically said he just started back with them and works one day a week while riding with a manager. I said, "the same management that never called me back"? She was quiet and finally said: "They didn't"? So here we are with a whole bunch of excuses and "passing the buck" mentality and nothing is still being done. I finally called corporate and waited on the phone twice at 20 minutes each time in which it automatically directs you to voice mail. I left a voice mail and explained everything that was happening. Corporate called back today and said that at the time, Mr. L[redacted] did not work there and since it wasn't their product their was nothing they could do about it. She told me how this other company (Volunteer) has done this time and time again. I asked her why they haven't pursued legal options and she wouldn't give me a straight answer and provided a phone number and address to the other company. The address she gave me pulls up a house in the middle of a sub-division. Really? This is nothing but excuse after excuse. Capital Meats has been unsympathetic and has shown no sign of resolution. If the company knew what he did and he "stole boxes from the dumpster" why on earth would you hire him back. Talk about ethical business practices (or lack thereof). Capital Meats has taken the position that it is our problem while defending the very worker that is still employed with them. According to them we are out $813 and need to track down the other company that operates out of a house in a subdivision on the outskirts of the city of [redacted]....Desired Settlement: Ideally I would like to have a full refund for this disgusting meat that is sitting in our freezer. Apparently Capital Meats has other ideas and has sent me on a wild goose chase leading to a house in a sub-division. After this situation is resolved, I would like all communications with Capital Meats to cease and for them to avoid my property. They clearly don't care about their company, their reputation, who they hire, and most importantly their customers that keep them in business. Shame on you Capital Meats. Shame on you...

Review: When choosing a method of payment for the product, we were not advised that there was any additional charge for using a credit card. Had we been so advised we would have written a check. We were charged a 14% processing fee of $69.84 on a $498.00 purchase. When I inquired why the difference between the quoted price and the actual credit card charged amount I was told that it was processing fees. We tried to contact Capital Meats, Inc. to discuss this issue using the telephone number listed on the receipt, but after being on hold for over 17 minutes the call was terminated by us.Desired Settlement: Refund of $69.84 processing fee at the very least. Would be very happy to rescind the entire order with full credit of $567.84 and they pick up the entire order, none of which has been used.

Review: I purchased nearly $1000 worth of meat from a Capital Meat, Inc (CMI) salesman in May 2012. This was our second purchase from CMI. We began to notice in Dec 2012 that the packaging on the beef and chicken was not holding up in the freezer, despite the 2 year guarantee. We made phone calls and finally had some of the meat exchanged in the late winter. When the salesman left, I went to the freezer to get chicken for dinner that evening and every single box contained chicken with holes in the plastic packaging. Where the holes had developed, the chicken had become freezer burned. We proceeded to attempt to exchange the meat for a second time. It took months to get a retuned phone call. When we finally got a salesman out to our house, he was only able to exchange some of it due to the quantity on his truck AND the fact that I was inspecting every box and many had holes in the packaging already. In April, we noticed again that the NEW boxes were also developing holes in the packaging. Since that time, I have been trying to reach someone to pick up all of the meat and get my money back. I regularly speak to [redacted] in Customer Service but can get no further than that. It took 3 weeks for [redacted], the manager of the Winchester office, to get back to me with me and I was calling both the customer service line and the Winchester office line EVERY DAY. I finally spoke to [redacted] at headquarters on May 17, 2013 and he promised me he would take care of the situation. But 6 weeks later and he still has not followed up or returned any of my phone calls. I have left messages regularly for him and with [redacted] at Customer Service. I have 24 boxes of inedible meat in my freezer, nearly all of which contains meat with holes in the packaging and freezer burn. Some of the meat that we already exchanged had even turned green.Desired Settlement: We unsuccessfully attempted to exchange the bad meat twice. Both times, the salesman was unable to exchange all of the bad meat due to the quantity in his truck and/or the quality of the packaging (holes in plastic). We still have some of the original meat. Each time, the salesman promised to follow up by returning to our house to exchange the remainder and has not done so. At this point, I want to return all of the meat and receive back exactly what we originally paid for it.

Review: I am filing this complaint on behalf of my grandmother, [redacted]. A high pressured sales person initially forced two elderly people into purchasing $743.00 worth of meat, which was terrible, was not even what the boxes are labeling, causing family members to become ill at our normal Sunday dinner. She filed a dispute with [redacted] and the dispute was issued in her favor and only said they could come and take the unused meat. Which they did but charged her for what was gone, the numbers did not add up, they did not file a rebuttal with [redacted]. They were also informed that her son other adult family member needed to be there. Unfortunately they cornered her in her home alone and forced her to pay via credit card for the meat that was not there. This was not part of the deal with [redacted] and a merchant cannot charge when they did not file a rebuttal to the dispute nor did they follow our request for someone else to be there. This meat was a level up from dog food and this company preys on people. They tried to come into my home with the door locked and I would not answer and they were still trying to come in. This company will not reply to people or numerous complaints. I question they are even licensed to operate in WV.Desired Settlement: A credit card refund and a promise to never stop at her address again.

Merchant Service issued a refund to the customer on 12/17/2013 stating not enough information had been provided in response to product quality. This was very unclear to us. [redacted] made contact with [redacted] on 01/16/2014 to schedule a day and time for the product to be picked up. She arrived on 1/17/2014 to pick up the product from [redacted] only to discover that over half the product had been eaten. **. [redacted] was only able to pick up 9 1/2 boxes of a 24 box purchase. Since the total cost of the purchase was $716.15,**. [redacted] divided that amount with the amount of boxes purchased to get a total cost per box of $29.72. She allotted for 14 boxes missing at $29.72 equaling the amount owed of $416.08.If there was an issue with product quality as stated by **. [redacted], we would have thought that most of the product would have been available to be picked up, give or take a few pieces that would have been tried. [To assist us in bringing this matter to a close, you must give us a reason why you are rejecting the response. If no reason is received your complaint will be closed Administratively Resolved]

Review: [redacted]

I am rejecting this response because: Three contact attempts were made to this business before disputing the charge. A letter via mail, a contact inquiry via the Capital Meats web site, and numerous calls to all numbers listed on the web site. Only one number was answered and the person there advised she did not service this area. Numerous tries to the corporate office and no one answered. The correspondence and call logs were sent in with the dispute. Part of the meat was thrown away because they boxes did not contain what was labeled and boxes of the red meat, was leaking and smelling and [redacted]'s daughter is a nurse and advised her to throw this out before it cross contaminated the meat. [redacted] was not contacted the day before to schedule a pick up, because [redacted] was advised to have myself or her adult son in the house, because these sales people are threatening and even tried to come in my unlocked door and are notorious for doing this in this area, as I have all the complaints pulled off of [redacted], there is no way all the meat that they say was consumed was consumed, if you thaw out a box and then it is bad, why would you refreeze the meat, that is grounds for food poisoning. Merchant services sided with [redacted] because they had all the documentation of our attempts. The prices you recharged her are not even consistent. When you cannot reach a company's corporate office and the company has such a bad reputation in the area and preying on elderly people on a fixed income is unexcusable.

Review: I would like to file a complaint regarding a meat delivery that occurred on 11/8/13 from Capital Meats, Inc. The salesman ([redacted]) sold my mother that lives alone 5 boxes of meat. Apparently, he was very persuasive and would not take no for an answer. She agreed to the meat. The salesman showed up again on 11/15/13. This time I ([redacted]) was there and informed him that my mother was sleeping and did not need any further meat. I also informed him to not sell large volumes of meat to my mother as she lives alone and does not cook or have the storage space. After two hours goes by, the salesman shows back again stating that he had to use the bathroom. I informed him that he should go to the [redacted]. He stated that I give him a bottle so he can use to go to the bathroom in his truck. Again I told him that is not necessary as there is a [redacted] right up the street. After a few minutes of me giving him directions he finally left the house. On 11/16/13, I reviewed online bank statements and noticed that my mother was charged $1,816 for the meat (one for $996 and the other for $820). I contacted Capital Meats on 11/18/13 to file a complaint. [redacted], customer service representive informed me that according to the computer systems, my mother purchased 8 boxes of meat. I stated that she only received 4 or 5 boxes. On 11/22/13, I talked with [redacted], Regional Sales Manager of Capital Meats and he stated the salesperson ([redacted]) was put on 1 week suspension and was not able to return to my mothers house. He was also assigned another route. [redacted] also stated that know one from Capital Meats is to return to her address at [redacted]. I stated that my mother should receive a refund for the product she paid for and did not receive. [redacted] stated that he has already paid the salesman ([redacted]) and the salesmen are sub contractors of Capital Meats and he could not reimburse. I informed him that the checks were made payable to Capital Meats not the subcontractor. [redacted] informs me that he is going to speak with the owner and call me back at 12:30. As of 11/25 I have received no return phone call.Desired Settlement: What I want is for my mother to receive a refund for the meat products she paid for and did not receive.

Review: Capital Meats knocked on my door with a pitch to sell frozen meat and fish. Yes, their sales techniques are high pressure, etc. but bottom line, the products appeared to be what they were supposed to be at a reasonable price. I bought $443 worth.

The problem is these meats are somehow fake. We tried the various types of beef steaks and they do not at all resemble beef, either in taste or texture. I can't figure out what meat it is, but it is not anything like any beef I've every eaten. Same with the chicken. It looks like chicken but it is mealy and chewy in texture and does not taste like chicken. It is all inedible.

I should have looked at the internet before I bought. There are complaints all over the place, many the same as mine. This is fake beef and chicken.Desired Settlement: I would like to receive a full credit. Having read through the internet complaints I seriously doubt Capital Meats will issue one. Over and over ripped off customers state they have demanded a refund and by told no by this company.

If I cannot get a refund, I would like to see this company investigated and their license to do business in Maryland revoked.

It seems to me if the States Attorney's Office simply looked at all the complaints, the Revdex.com rating, it would be fairly easy to nail these guys and put them out of business. At least their products should be tested to determine what their selling and if it is dangerous or unhealthy.

Review: I recently purchased $675 worth of steak and chicken from Capital Meats Inc. After concluding that it was a very poor decision and finding that all of the chicken has holes in the packaging, also the salesmen told me I was supposed to have 100 pieces of steak and I only had 83. I decided to return the product. I called every number on the Capital Meats website to try and get a hold of someone; they told me they could exchange it for new product. I agreed to have the product exchanged. Later on that day I decided I would rather just have my money back and have them pick up the meat. I called back and told them that I just wanted a refund and a lady named Angel told me that she would contact the driver and tell them that I was just going to have the product picked up and have my money refunded. I went to my house during lunch and the driver showed up at my house. I told him there was no sense in exchanging the product because I was getting a refund. He started to raise his voice at me and ask me why and he thought that we had a deal and he needed to drop the rest of my steak off. I asked him why he had and attitude and he told me well I guess I will just be back to pick up the meat and walked away. I then called the office back and asked them if someone else could come pick up the meat because he was very rude. I sent in my appeal letter which was date stamped for the date that the website said it had to be in. I was contacted and told that my refund would be to me in a week and they would be contacting me to pick up the meat. I did not receive my refund for 2 weeks because they put the wrong zip code down and I had made an appointment with another driver to come pick up the meat. The driver never showed up on the day he was supposed to come. I then received a phone call saying that the meat needed to be returned that week. I told the woman on the phone that it would have to wait for the following Monday so someone could be home when they picked it up or I gave her the choice of me leaving it outside on the porch; she agreed that Monday was fine. Monday came and my husband was there when the salesmen came to pick up the meat. He told me that at first the guy had an attitude and kept asking why we were returning the product. They took the meat and marked on the slip that we would have to pay back what was eaten. We had eaten 2 pieces of chicken. The salesmen had also marked that they received 2 boxes of steak and one box of chicken. Today Monday July 22, 2014 I received a phone call from John T[redacted] (the original salesmen who was told not to step foot on my property) John is telling me that we have a problem and that there are only 3-4 pieces of chicken in each box. I told him that when I received the chicken I marked on each box how many pieces were in it, which in each box there was 6 pieces of chicken. He told me there were supposed to be 10 in each box. I continued to tell John that he can come check my freezer if he does not believe me and that we only ate 2 pieces of chicken. He told me that I was a crook and a thief. John got loud with me and I told him that I would contact his manager to let them know that he was harassing me. He told me that his manger was sitting next to him which I heard him screaming in the background that I was a crook. I then hung up the phone and called my husband. My husband called me back minutes later and told me that he would not be calling me back. John Torney and Tyquan Hopkins were the two salesmen who originally came to my door. There were two different people who came to pick up the product.Desired Settlement: Capital meats and all of their employees need to stop contacting me now!

Review: On June 7, 2014 a man came to our home in [redacted], VA late in the afternoon and said he had beef to sell because it was late in the afternoon on Friday and he didn't want to take it back to the "warehouse" so he was giving us a great deal. He first approached my husband who was working in the garage. He had about 6 boxes of "prime beef" including T-bone steaks, hamburgers, other various steaks, etc. He said if we purchased them, he would throw in 6 boxes of seafood, including lobsters, shrimp and various fish fillets for free. He said if we were dissatisfied with any of the products or they got freezer burn, etc. that we could call and he would pick them up and refund our money. I was called away (to Indiana) where my sister is very ill (stage 4 cancer) and was gone for several weeks. Therefore, we did not try any of the product until a few weeks later. I did not get to see the beef other than a glimpse of it as the sales person took it out of the boxes and "showed me he could get it in my freezer" since I told him I didn't think it would fit. We used a couple packages of shrimp and it was ok. Tried to cook a lobster - which were no more than 5 or 6 inches long - and it was totally disgusting and had to be thrown away. The lobsters were in pieces and there wasn't a whole lobster in the box. I thawed a couple of the packages of what we call mystery meat that were supposed to be some kind of steak and they were so disgusting we couldn't even get our dogs to eat them. All in all we wasted $300 for a freezer full of product not fit to eat. I have called their off and left messages and called the route salesman who dumped this mess on us and they do not answer phones or messages. I finally contacted someone via e-mail who assured me the problem would be taken care of. I talked with her a couple of times and she just continues to lie to me and say the manager will be in touch with me and make an appointment to come out and take care of this but to date no one has called or responded. I have no way to dispose of this mess and I want them to come get it and give my money back. I am willing to pay for the shrimp we ate but no more than $100 for that and it was not even worth that. Please help me. I could use this money to buy some real meat at the grocery store. These people should not be in business anywhere.Desired Settlement: I want our money back and someone to come pick up this trash out of my freezer. My husband is a disabled, retired veteran after having served 20 years in the U. S. Air Force. We are not accustomed to this kind of service or treatment.
