I am sorry to hear that Miss [redacted] is unhappy with our serviceAfter speaking with Bill [redacted] the manager of the store He has confirmed that he was present at the time the vehicle was brought in and that we performed an alignmentIt is not necessary to remove the wheels of any vehicle to perform an alignmentWe did not remove the wheels in this caseBill has informed me that he spoke with Miss [redacted] about this and she mentioned to Bill that there was another person working on the vehicle for her and they are the ones experiencing the problemI would suggest that since someone else was involved with removing the wheels that they need to be responsible for any damage, considering we didn’t take them off.As far as the second occurrence that she mentionedI looked in the computer and found the last time she was in to the shop was a year ago in June of The same thing was found to be a problem with a wheel stud and lug nut being stripped out after someone else was working on the car.We didn’t remove the wheels on either occasion so we couldn’t have caused the problemAlthough we didn’t remove the wheels, if we were to remove the wheels we have a company procedure and policy that is in place to insure that the wheels are attached safely and correctlyThis involves using a torque stick on the impact which regulates the pressure to foot pounds of torque We also use a torque wrench which is tightened by hand to the foot pounds as a back up to be double certain that it will not be over tightened or under tightened.Sincerely, [redacted] District Manager of Operations [redacted]

three igni on coils that had failed and since the other three coils were the same age we recommended replacing all six coils and spark plugsThe decision was made by Mr*** to have only three of the coils replacedWe did the repair and everything was fine.It was a few days later that we heard from Mrs*** sta ng that there was a problem with the vehicle misfiringThe vehicle had been towed to a different auto repair shop and she had the vehicle worked on by themShe informed us that the other mechanic found a problem with the fuel injector and that she felt we misdiagnosed the vehicleThe manager of Car-X Gary Haynes offered to have the vehicle towed back to the shop because the work that we performed is under warrantyAt this me Mrs*** informed Gary that the work had already been done by the other garageGary then asked to get the old parts that the other garage had replaced to verify the problem and she refused to agree to do thisConsidering the large amount that is being asked for, Car-X would like to confirm the other repair work performed by ge ng a copy of the receipt and the old part or parts.The pricing at Car-X is very compe ve and we offer a guarantee that we will meet or beat any compe tor’s pricing providing it is a professional repair facility offering the same quality parts that we offer.A er the complaint was received *** *** the AsstDistrict Manager for Car-X tried to make contact with Mrs*** on at least two occasionsThere was no return call made

I brought my car in for an oil change . Lee did say the bolt had no threads on it I did ask L** if he could put a little bigger bolt in it he said we can try if he had told me it could crack the oil pan I would not had let him put a bigger bolt in , I would have not taken that chance . after he cracked it Lee said clearly they cracked my oil pan point is it wasn't cracked when I brought it in for a simple oil change I shouldn't have to pay for an oil pan Lee admits to cracking . When I talked to L** Friday on the phone he did offer to let me bring in a oil pan but charged me full labor of 305.00 labor ,oil, etc.he only took the price of the oil pan off nothing discounted on the labor . I don't think it's fair when he admits to cracking it .I'm not a mechanic I didn't take my car to a shade tree mechanic I brought my car to car-x who are suppose to be professionals in car care i'm sure they knew that It could possibly crack if they put in a bigger bolt but I sure didn't and I think I should have been told this before they tried to put the bolt in .

The vehicle was brought to us with damage to the left front area of the car. It had been obviously wrecked. We estimated what was damaged in the accident to the left front side of the vehicle around 4/13/16 approximately. Mr. [redacted] at this time left with the vehicle having no repairs performed....

approximately 4/18/16 Mr. [redacted] returned with the vehicle asking us to submit the claim with the insurance company. We then contacted the insurance company and they would only cover the cost of replacing the damaged parts on the left front (see attached insurance claim). There is an estimate that was given to Mr. [redacted]'s mother on 2/6/16 for other parts that are in need of replacement prior to the accident (see attached estimate dated 2/6/16). Until the parts estimated on 2/6/16 are replaced it will not drive correctly. When mr. [redacted] decides to have the other parts replaced we will re do the alignment at no cost. All of the repairs were performed per invoice #[redacted] (attached) and the insurance company paid us directly.

I am sorry to hear that Ms. [redacted] is unhappy with the service she received.Car-X has serviced her vehicle on five occasions over the last four years. We have performed the oil change on two of these visits. The first time we did the oil change dated 12/13/12 it was noted on her invoice that there...

was a heli-coil in the oil pan upon arrival. The heli-coil is a temporary repair that was done to allow the drain plug to become sealed. It is important to note that we had not serviced this vehicle prior to the heli-coil installation, so that repair was done somewhere else. This vehicle is a 2001 model with 175,000 miles on it when it was brought in on 3/21/16 the threads in the oil pan were noticeably worn out when we removed the drain plug. Lee stopped the process at this time and brought Ms. [redacted] into the shop so he could show her what was wrong. Ms. [redacted] asked Lee if he could put an over sized drain plug in to resolve the issue. L** reiterated that a repair had been done to this once before. When attempting to install the over sized drain plug the oil pan cracked. This means that the oil pan will necessitate replacement. There is no other solution to this problem other than to replace the drain pan. Whether the drain pan was cracked or not is not relevant because the vehicle wasn't able to be driven without a drain plug in place. The purpose of attempting to put the over sized drain plug in, is to avoid the expense of replacing the drain pan. In this case it was not successful. The attachment includes copies of the two invoices that were given to Ms. [redacted] that clearly state the circumstances.L** has offered to allow her to purchase a new drain pan from wherever she would like and Car-X will install it for a discounted cost of labor.

Worked with customer and basically slit the ticket of repairs.  Vehicle was towed in for running issues and those were fixed, then a couple days later it developed a transmission problem which was un-related to the original problems.  Customer decided to get rid of the vehicle which had...

our new parts on it so we refunded them one half of the original bill of $900.00 (they received $450.00)Please close this case out [redacted]###-###-####

[redacted], our area Supervisor left a few messages to Mr. [redacted] in order resolve his complaint in a timely fashion.  Since we did not hear back from him, we are responding to this complaint via email.  Car-X
Tire and Auto service has been in business in Cincinnati since 1980 and

we pride ourselves for having the highest integrity.  [redacted]
Bailey is the manager of the location at 5410 Glenway and has been
there for 15 years. He personally was involved in this transaction and
has stated that he witnessed the oil change being done. [redacted] is also the
same person that showed Mr. [redacted] that the oil cap was missing.Based on the amount of oil residue around the valve cover showed the cap was missing for some time and performed the service that was requested by the customer.  We do not feel that we mislead the customer in any way.  As a customer satisfaction resolution, we will still refund Mr. [redacted] Car-X  in the amount of $52.88. [redacted]

I have spoke with [redacted] about the problem with the scratched plasticoat on his wheels. The issue is that the tire cannot be replaced without scratching the coating, this material is designed to peel off easily allowing for a change in color if someone wants to change it to. It is not designed or...

meant to be permanent. Considering that we didn't inform him prior to the service Car-X is willing to meet halfway and there is a refund that will be processed in the amount of $41.40 which is 50% of the cost charged. [redacted] has agreed that this fair.

Review: On 12/30/14 I dropped my husband’s 2008 Lincoln Navigator off to the Car-X on [redacted] in Cincinnati, OH. Unfortunately, we had (are having) a terrible experience with the company. I dropped the car off to get new tires and when we picked the car up it didn’t even look like the same car. I mentioned it to the manager, [redacted], and he said the lift/suspension on the car was broken and the car was sagging in the rear. My husband and I were both there to pick it up and [redacted] argued that it was like that when we dropped it off, however, we don’t feel that it was in that condition when I left the car. I asked Mr. [redacted] why he wouldn’t have contacted us to let us know that this issue was going on so we could get it fixed instead of putting the tires on the car and he said, “you asked for tires so we put tires on it.” I am aware of the Car-X commitment – I will invite the customer to the vehicle to show them what is right and what is wrong with the vehicle. Nothing was ever mentioned about the sagging suspension on the car till we asked about it at pick up. [redacted] was also there that day/evening. He wasn’t very polite to us either and said that it was dropped off like that. Again we argued that why would we have put all this money into getting new tires and not even able to drive the car. It was a terrible experience. We were treated very poorly by Mr. [redacted] and even at checkout I wanted to use my $10 coupon off the $813.45 total for the tires and he told me I was unable to use the coupon…and that he should have charged me extra for all the trouble they went through with us.

I submitted the “Contact Us” form TWICE on the Car-X website and didn’t hear anything back. I called another Car-X and asked for more help and they had [redacted] return my call. He said he would able to put the part on for the suspension at cost (I think it was around $650) but we don’t have that kind of money. We had saved for these new tires and we can’t even drive the car. It has been sitting in our driveway since 12/30/14. We are afraid to drive in it…our Car-X invoice states that “sagging in the rear will affect the alignment performed.” Well, we have two young kids and obviously we don’t want to put them in a car that is not safe.

On 1/20/15, I also followed up with [redacted] (in customer service) and she was very nice and said she will call the owner of that particular store and notify them of the incident and have them follow up with me. I didn’t hear anything from anyone so I left a message on [redacted] VM on 1/22/15 and 1/23/15. I have attempted to contact her on 1/26/15 and 1/27/15 but no answer and didn’t feel that leaving additional messages would be necessary. Today I sent an email to the CEO, [redacted]. Anyway, we aren’t sure what to do next. My husband and I both work full time and we are hard working. We don’t have extra money sitting around to make this repair that we feel isn’t our fault and if it was we would have had that fixed before putting tires. Now we are spending money on rides for him to get to and from work. I would like Car-X to make it right. The Car-X commitment, “I will do everything in my power to do the repair or service right the first time.”Desired Settlement: We would like to be reimbursed for our tires so we can get the suspension fixed and the car alignment done correctly.

We have been in touch with [redacted]s and was able to resolve the issue amicably. While

we firmly believe that we did not cause the problem with the vehicle we

choose to go ahead and correct the problem at No-charge to her. Pure

customer Satisfaction only. (We installed a New Air ride pump assembly on her Lincoln Navigator which cost us $422.00)[redacted] picked up the car on Thursday, Feb 5th from our Reading location and the Supervisor called her directly on Friday as a follow-up.

Review: I took my car to car-x to get it serviced for a bad engine, I was quoted a price and then had my car stay with them for a week almost while they fixed the car. They hah gotten the parts and began working on the car, the part they got didn't work and then they said in order to fix it your bill will jump $900.00, I told them that was a lot but I would see if I could get the money, the manager [redacted] stated that the situation was fine and just let him know what to do. I then told him I would just take my car back and when I had money or when I figured out what I wanted to do I would call him. He said that that was unnecessary and he would allow my car to stay there for "two weeks" if needed to wait for the funds. I said ok, and I will be in touch. I researched the vechile parts and my husband spoke to [redacted] two days later, at that point I told them that this siutation was getting uglier and I couldn't find a part cheaper. 4 days later I figure out that I rather sell the car then fix it, The manager says "well sell it to me and it will cover your bill" What bill, my husband asked he said for the service, the diagnostic was free and you bought a "faulty" partand now was going to charge me for it. The manager then asked "well what are you going to do with it?" He was told me that we had to pay $900 dollars or so he would give me my car. He was told I would pay for the initial servie of $90 dollars but not $900 since they didn't fix my car, bought faulty equiptment and that's not my fault, he is in charge of buying the right pieces. Then we contacted home office and they said they would speak to the manager....nothing resolved yet.Desired Settlement: I would pay the $90 bucks agreed and get my car back.
