Review: I went to CarX[redacted] Cincinnati, Ohio [redacted]; for a specific reason. After spending a VERY large sum of money for services to my car; the original problem was NOT remedied!! In fact, the ORIGINAL problem was WORSE than it was when I took it in.I was charged outrageous sums for some PARTS. I was charged two (2) Labor fees for my services. The mechanic explained to me that the thing that still needed to be done; to remedy the situation "would cost too much", so he did not tell me about it. My question was: "How do you know if it was too expensive, if you didn't tell me about it?" It makes me think that I am being bilked!........Go in to have a service performed!.......Spend a lot of money!.......Then, something else is needed!.......So, you have to go in again and spend MORE money. I am Very sad and discouraged, considering all of the money that I spent to have my car repaired, only to have it functioning worse than before!!Desired Settlement: Refund for service(s) that were not needed! And replacement for what should have been done!!

To whom it may concern

Mrs R[redacted]'s vehicle is not worse than before we did tune the car up spark plugs wires and ect. This was done because the vehicle would not run. Also we did tires and bearings these were performed for safety reasons, and I assure they are not worse then before. We contacted [redacted] and she agreed to let us take another look at the vehicle to see what's going on with it. If it's something simple we will just take care of it for her. If it needs other work being it's 14 years old I will beat any competitor price. Thank you and I hope this helps

Review: Took car in for repair of back end of car they did 1200 dollars worth of work and even did some front end work, (don't know why) but they did not fix problem and they caused more damage to my car from the work they did do, for example the put new axle in wrong according to midas (I have papework from them stating what they found and told me to do like take it back to car-x to have them re do it.) After they did that they wanted 1500 more to fix the problem I actually brought it in for which they did a diagnostic test for and their diagnosis was wrong. And tthey did not fix problem. They may have made it worse.Desired Settlement: Would like to have truck fixed properly and any damaged they did repaired.

Dear Sir/Madam

In regards to complaint # [redacted]

Mr [redacted] had his vehicle towed to our facility at [redacted]because it was not safe to drive. In most cases we always test drive a vehicle pre our inspection. In this particular case the vehicle was unsafe to drive, and was able to tell that in our parking lot. So we pulled the vehicle into the shop to inspect. Upon our inspection we noticed on the right front of the vehicle it had a control arm that was ready to come apart from holding the wheel. Someone else had worked on this part in question already but was installed improperly and needed fixed. This was the first safety issue that was found. The second issue was a wheel bearing in the rear end which holds the wheel stable. The bearing was completely bad. These are items that were visibly very bad and safety issues. At this point Mr [redacted] agreed to fix these problems. After the repairs were completed on the vehicle then we were able to test drive and confirm the repairs fixed the vehicle. During our test drive the technician did discover an additional differential problem with the gears locking up. At this point we called Mr [redacted] to inform him. He told us that it was our problem. I explained to him that it is impossible to see inside the rear end housing, but did tell him I would apply the bearing amount to the cost of the repair so he would not be out any additional money for the bearing. He refused to let us complete the repair so in good faith on his invoice since it did need additional work to the rear end I gave him the bearing for free. Refer to invoice # [redacted] at the bottom I discounted 340.00 not because it did not need the bearing but because I felt bad that it happened the way it did. Also on the invoice noted the other repairs that needed completed and declined at this time. We are sorry his vehicle needed more work than we initially thought but sometimes these things happen. We did not damage the vehicle in anyway. I also told him I would guarantee him the best price by far if he ever wanted it repaired.

Sincerely [redacted]

Review: Took our [redacted] to a [redacted] for an inspection and to receive a list of any maintenance or repair that was needed on 4/9/15. One item identified by [redacted] was the need for brake work: pads and rotors. The rest of the brake system was evaluated to be in good condition. We chose to have the brake service (pads and rotors) done at Car X. We took the car to them, and they did the requested service and also replaced a caliper on 4/18/15. Upon picking the car up from their shop, we immediately noted that: the brakes now did not seem to engage properly, the pedal now went all the way to the floor (which it had not previously) and the vehicle was very difficult to stop. In addition, the emergency handbrake seemed to be set wrong---the lever was very, very far down/back when engaged. We immediately drove the vehicle back to the shop and spoke with the manager about the concerns. He stated that they had used an automated process/machine to bleed the brake line fluid and he would correct the issue by re-doing it manually and that this was likely the cause of the new problem in the brakes. We left the car for that correction and returned to pick it up about 90 mins later. As we drove home, the brakes failed to stop the vehicle---again the pedal went all the way to the floor, but the vehicle would not stop. In addition, the handbrake was even further back when engaged. The failure of the vehicle to stop when the brake pedal was pushed all the way to the floor nearly resulted in a collision at the first intersection we came to on [redacted]. We made it the short distance home by driving ~10mph with the hazard flashers on and [redacted] following behind in his vehicle. We took the car back to the [redacted] dealer this morning, 4/20/15 for diagnosis. The technician identified that since our car's brake system was last inspected on 4/9/15, the master cylinder was broken and leaking and that the leak was very obvious. He stated this was likely a result of improper bleeding/pumping/filling of the brake line and that this rendered the car unsafe to operate. The [redacted] dealer is now making the needed repair to the broken master cylinder at a cost of ~$650.00. We contacted the Car X manager again to advise that, as soon as we leave the [redacted] dealer, we will be over to his shop to discuss restitution of for the damage done to the brake line.Desired Settlement: Given that a requested service (brake pads and rotors) done by Car X resulted in damage to another part of our car's brake system by improper handling and that this resulted in a near collision in heavy traffic despite two attempts by Car X to deliver the service they promised, as well as cost to repair the car to make is driveable, we would like to have our money refunded.

Revdex.com [redacted] RE: [redacted] ID# [redacted] Dear [redacted], Car-X performed some brake repair work on the 2004 [redacted] for [redacted] and [redacted] and unfortunately there was an issue with another component of the brake system which failed soon after our repair. We understand the customer being upset with Car-X. We will do the right thing and reimburse for the additional part that required replacement. It is unfortunate that the other part failed but we are not in the business of selling parts that we don’t find to be a problem. It is possible that while we were in the process of performing the other repair work that it disturbed sediment that may have collected in the hydraulic system over time due to the age of the vehicle (11 years old) and the high mileage (181,000). [redacted] the manager of the shop has spoken with [redacted] and has agreed to reimburse them a fair amount of $468.83 for the replacement Master Cylinder. The reimbursement is in the process and a check will be sent within the next two weeks. Sincerely, [redacted] Car-X tire and Auto Manager of Operations ###-###-#### [redacted] .

Review: I brought my truck to carx for a diagnostic test to see whats wrong with the engine performance. I am a home mechanic my self and I really couldn't figure out why my truck had low oil pressure and hesitation upon accelaration of vechicle. Upon dropping off my vechicle I left the mechanic a list of things that was replaced on the vechicle. I also recommened that they checked the oil pump functions and also the pick up tube and screen. The dealer told me that these parts can clogg or not work properly can cause low oil pressure. Now I was told by [redacted] dealship to check the mass air sensor for dirt or malfucntions. This can cause hesitation, misfire, stalling of vechicle and hard starting. This information was relayed to CARX to check while performing diagnostic test. The service tech told me it would be a 94 dollar charge, I agreed. When carx was done the only thing they told me is that my vacuum was low and my oil pressure was also. I replied I know that but why his answer was "the engine has alot of miles I recommend to replace engine. NEVER CHECKED THE OIL PUMP, OIL SCREEN, OR PICK UP TUBE, or related causes to engine hesitation. JUST REPLACE ENGINE. Carx didnt perform any diagnostic needed to check problems.Desired Settlement: I just want my money back for the diagnostic that wasnt done.

Business

Response:

Hi [redacted]

I talked to the technician that looked at your suburban. He did do a diag on it and he did advise you to get a new or used engine due to lack of oil pressure, and he did a vacuum test which indicated that the engine is very worn. Sorry you don't feel that you got your money's worth. What I will do is either apply the whole amount you spent toward the repair or not because we did anything wrong but just to be kind will refund 40.00 back to you. Hope this helps just let me know. Thank you

Review: I took my car to car x to get an alternator fixed. They couldnt get it started so they had to run a diagnostic test.I said ok and they came up with a possible solution that it was the distributor assembly. I said I need a car so fix it. With test and all it cost me $600+. They get it running, but it is misfiring horrbile and could be timing belt. I said I would pick it up as is and get a second opinion. I pick it up and it is running worse then when I took it in. I popped the hood and noticed that they crushed the plastic loop that connects the multipoint injectors to the intake, which is barely holding on and also broke a bolt in my intake that connects the egr tube which left a gab between the two. I called and asked them why didnt they notify me about the broken bolt and their reply is must of slipped his mind. They did put it on the bills, but didnt mention it at all.I ask them if they could fix it since they broke it and they said now becaue bolts break and with delicate bolts like that its had to tell if the bolt is weak by using a torque wrench. I ask if the bolt is delicate why would you use a torque wrench and with his reply raising his voice that isnt going to cause issues with your car, but I will check with my boss. During the time they where suppose to call me back monday which they didnt, I called other shops plus another car x asking about the broken bolt and what they would do if the same situation happened. Both Car x and another shop explained that it a mechanics error when taking the bolt out. If they notice the bolt was loose then getting tight to stop get the manager, so they can call the customer to ask if they want them to continue, but since they did not do it should fall on the mechanic and shop to fix it. I called them back tuesday and ask what the manager said and he explained that they would not fix it and it would cost $200 to do so.Desired Settlement: Their negligence and lack of skill for breaking a bolt in my intake, crushing the loop that holds on my multipoint injections (which looks as it will break any minute) and contacting me about any of the above. They are irresonsible and rather then take blame for their mistake they rather charge a customer extra money. I would say I would want the shop to fix the issues, but who says they would mess it up more. I would like them to pay for the fixing of the broken parts or refund me.

To Whom It May Concern:

I am sorry to hear that [redacted]s unhappy with the service that we performed. We strive to do everything in our power to satisfy each and every customer that we are given the opportunity to help.

Originally [redacted] called us asking for a quote of how much it would cost to replace the alternator on his 1999 [redacted]. He then had the vehicle towed in to us to have the alternator replaced because it wouldn’t start. Werecommended that we perform some diagnostic testing to verify what is causing the no start condition. Upon finishing the testing we found that the alternator was in good working order and that the problem was the distributor.

While performing the replacement of the distributor one of the bolts that attach the egr tube to the intake manifold broke while trying to disassemble. This is not uncommon on a vehicle of this age to occur, considering the bolt is steel and it is threaded into aluminum.

The fact that the bolt is broken isn’t causing any malfunctions in the performance of the vehicle. There is still one bolt holding it together and it isn’t leaking. After replacing the distributor, the vehicle would then start and run. Because the vehicle wouldn’t start when it was brought in we did advise [redacted] that other issues could arise after we got the vehicle started.

After we got the vehicle to start the engine was found to be misfiring (which [redacted] informed us he was having this issue before it quit running). We recommended that we perform more testing because there may be a timing issue and also it appeared as though the spark plug wires were original to the vehicle, it is also possible the spark plugs could be original as well.

Unfortunately there are other issues that need to be addressed with the vehicle in order to correct the running issues. While the spark plugs and plug wires are being replaced it would be an easy fix to repair the broken bolt since the intake manifold would need to be removed to gain access to the plugs and wires.

As far as the wiring of the fuel injectors we are not aware of a problem in that area. We didn’t find anything wrong with them at the time the vehicle was in our shop.

Sincerely,

Consumer

Review: On Aug. 26, 2013 I brought my car to the Car - X at 5410 Glenway Ave. for Brake work and the replacement of two (2) damaged wheel studs. While the brake work seems satisfactory, I discovered today (7/16/2014) that the damaged lugs had not been replaced. If I had not had to change that tire I would never have known that two (2) wheel studs were less than half of their effective length. What the technician had done was to grind the wheel lugs to a point, removing the damaged portion, and remove the rubber washer on the lug - nuts to get them to seat an eighth (1/8") deeper. This means that my wheel is much more likely to warp or detach for the vehicle catastrophically.Desired Settlement: I would like a refund for the full $87.99 + tax and the discipline/dismissal of the technician identified as [redacted] on the invoice.

Review: I have had a few issues with this business. When I purchased my car from the dealership, my air conditioner worked perfectly. I took my car to Car X for new tires and the mechanic said something about my air conditioner. I happen to mention that it started blowing out hot air. He said, "well, I know you did not have air conditioning last year". I wondered how he knew that since I have never asked them to work on my air conditioner. Also last year in September, I took my car in to have a flat tire fixed. While I was waiting, the mechanic came in and told me that my steering wheel was locked. I went out to see what he was talking about and found that my steering wheel had been turned all the way around so tightly that no one could move it at all. When I pulled in, my steering wheel was perfectly straight and could easily be turned. One of their mechanics had intentionally turned my steering wheel so tight that it locked. They then told me that it was my key but that was not the case. I had to join [redacted] and have someone come to Car X. [redacted] was successful in getting my steering wheel unlocked after a while. He had to use a rubber mallet. Now, my car will not shift into gear so I cannot drive it. I have to have it towed to find out what Car X employees broke when they turned my steering wheel very tight and locked it. They had also gotten me to buy all new brakes on a car I had just bought, costing me almost $400. They are very untrustworthy. Be on guard when having them work on your car especially if you are a female.Desired Settlement: My air conditioner needs to be fixed as does my gear shift in my steering column. I would like for them to pay to have my car repaired at a repair shop of my choosing since I do not trust them to fix my car.

COMPLAINT RESPONSE

REFERENCE Id # [redacted]

To whom it may concern,

Ms. [redacted] brought her vehicle in to Car-x with a flat tire on September 14th 2012. When our Technician went to the parking lot to start the vehicle the ignition was locked and would not allow the key to turn, therefore he wasn’t able to start or move the vehicle. The problem was reported to Ms. [redacted] and she called [redacted]. When they arrived they tapped the ignition with a rubber mallet and were able to get the ignition to turn over. And we then serviced the flat tire.

The complaint mentioned that the steering wheel wasn’t in the locked position when the vehicle was brought in and as a result of us attempting to start the vehicle we created the problem by moving the steering wheel enough to cause it to become locked. There are occasions when you attempt to start a vehicle that if the key doesn’t turn you can move the steering wheel slightly and that will allow the key to start the vehicle. It is not uncommon for a steering wheel to lock itself with a slight movement of the steering wheel because all vehicles are designed to lock the steering for anti-theft purposes. Because of the problem that was experienced we recommended at that time to have diagnostic testing performed to be certain to address the problem. This is noted on the original invoice in her possession. The following is a copy of the original information.

Review: Frist I want to let Carx know that I am a long time customer and have always been satifed with the work done to my cars and and my families cars. The last time that you did brake service on my F250 ford I drove it for a day or two and the truck was not driving right I check my lug nuts on my front tire and they were loose and did damage to my rim. Tighten lug nut and went to Carx to see what they would do about my rim I was meet by the Manager who was very rude and stated that they didnt take the tires off my truck therefore they would not do anything. Question how do you inspect brakes without taking the tires off the truck? Call the corp office got the same anwser. Now I have had to replace bolts on a rear tire because they were not tighten either and I have two rims that need replaced. I know that they had to remove the tires to do the work, and want them to do the right thing. LarryDesired Settlement: For Carx to replace my two damaged rims and the 85$ I spent on the parts to fix the back tire (studs and Lug nuts)

Business

Response:

Dear Revdex.com and [redacted] the vehicle was brought to us with brand new brakes which we did not install. The vehicle came to us with no brake pressure, and the first thing we noticed was that who ever did the brakes prior to us having it put the wrong master cylinder on the truck, which was causing the whole problem. All we did is put a master cylinder on and never pulled the wheels. So the conclusion is that the person who put the brakes on the vehicle at the wheels left them loose not Carx.

Review: On November 23, 2013 I purchased new shocks/struts from CarX on [redacted] in Cincinnati Ohio. The total for parts and labor for these products totaled $475.98 of a full bill for $970.69. I have recently had to purchase new shocks/struts. A friend replaced them for me and discovered my parts were factory original. This means I was charged for parts and labor that did not occur. I have every reason to believe that CarX took advantage of me and my lack of knowledge about car repair and targeted me because I am female.Desired Settlement: I would love a refund, but I would also love an apology from the business and for them to be stopped from taking advantage of other women.

Review: 2/15/13 Car X Auto Services to provide est. and assessment of auto issue. Upon receiving assessment and est. of repair, I requested to pay for the diagnosis and take my car to preferred garage near-by. Car-X Mgr stated that it would be impossible to pick-up and drive auto to near-by garage, because they had already disassemble steering column. I told them they were not authorized to disconnect critical driving parts without prior approval. Mgr said "you can have it towed" if you don't want us to repair. I consulted with my local and preferred garage, which confirmed that it was not necessary to disconnect and disassemble the steering column to determine repair est. It was our preferred garage's opinion that this tactic was used in-order to make it very difficult for us to take the auto somewhere else for a second opinion. After receiving a $150.00 quote to have the car towed to our preferred shop, we reluctantly allowed Car-X to attempt to repair our auto. Car-X replaced the Shift Interlock Switch at a cost of $159.86 for the part, $139.24 in labor, $23.93 in shop supplies and $44.00 in diagnosis. Total $390.89 We paid and picked up the car on 2/16/13. On 2/17/13, the first trip after picking up the auto, my wife was stranded at work for the same auto issue. Car-X came to work location and was able to simply override part, so they could drive auto back to their shop to run more test. My wife inquired about the override and was told that this was the same procedure originally used to move the car and that towing wouldn't have been necessary to move the car to another shop. (Confirming above suspensions that we were manipulated) Car-X said they would check problem again, but at no additional cost. Car-X said that the part installed was also faulty and they would get a genuine Ford part from dealer. Picked up car on 2/20/13 and was assured that repair was done correctly and the part was good. With-in 2 weeks of picking up car the same issue is occurring. Wrong diagnosis.Desired Settlement: Original part, second part replaced...third part failed. Requested refund for all charges minus $44.00 diagnostics. Used a $20 coupon...requested $326.89 refund minus tax. Contacted corporate offices, but they deferred, stating owner of franchise is responsible. [redacted],Customer Service Mgr,Car-X Assoc Corp [redacted],General Manager for store, stated he wouldn't refund without obtaining part. Car-X wants me to replace for 4th time. They have it wrong.

I took my car in thinking I had a eletrical short, The break lights and turn signals were not working. The shop looked at everything and informed me it was only a fuse. The charge was only 50 bucks. I will be taking my car to the asbury road store from now on

Review: We were originally told the repair would be $200 on our vehicle. Later CarX informed us that they could not repair the vehicle and would have to order a new part. Once they reassembled the vehicle, they charges us $992.07, more than 41/2 times the $200 estimate. When we drove the vehicle, the "new" part was defective! The vehicle would not run properly. We then returned the vehicle the

next day and after an additional 3 weeks plus they repaired it. They then charged us an additional $100. For a total of $1,092.07 (One Thousand Ninety Two Dollars and Seven Cents). We feel this is an unfair charge for both the parts and the labor still today our vehicle is not working correctly even after three different replacement parts! We will have to take our vehicle to have it properly and professionally repaired at additional expense!Desired Settlement: Refund $892.07

Review: Summary:Unnecessary and unauthorized work, deliberate or careless damage to brake lining to make extra profits. On Dec 05 I brought my car to Carx, following advise from Manager [redacted] two days earlier"to bring it in for free brake inspection service". The brakes were working fine, but I wanted to make sure before giving the car to my Son.I also brought a coupon from different company that [redacted] agreed to accept. In my car I also had brake pads (that I purchased on internet many months ago) if needed. After giving keys to [redacted] I waited perhaps couple of hours, no work order was completed for me to see or approve. Next thing I was told that brake pads and one caliper has been installed but one bad news. I was asked to come to the car. Brake oil was gushing out of brake lining, I was shocked to see it and in my view it could only happen with deliberate damage. I was given at this time a printout showing the additional amounts to fix the damage.I could not accept the additional charge because there was no leak before I brought the car them more than once. I asked and pleaded with manager [redacted], to fix the damage because it happened in their care. As a compromise and conciliation offered to pay for the material. My offer was declined. I was advised to get the car towed, that I did to my house. Before leaving I asked for the brake pads that came off the car, which were given to me. I was further disappointed to find out that pads were in good condition and did not need replaced. I have them for anybody's inspection, I estimate them at about 70% remaining good. Which reinforces my earlier conclusion that this is less than honest. An honest person would have advised me not to replace the pads, because they were still good.I never declined any offer/s of service other than additional concocted work. None was offered. [redacted] statement "he declined inspection" is false; I came because of his advise earlier to come in for free inspection. Unfortunately, I feel my trust was abused my CarX staff.Desired Settlement: Refund charge for unnecessary brake pads replacement, fix damage to brake lining. Pay for towing. And apology for inconvenience. Thanks,

To whom it may concern,

I am sorry to hear that Mr. [redacted] is unhappy with the service that we provided.

The Manager ( [redacted]) at the shop spoke with Mr. [redacted] when he came in on Monday 12/3/12?, Mr. [redacted] asked [redacted] about replacing his brake pads with the parts that he will supply. [redacted] offered to do this for him, but didn't have time that day to perform the work since it was late in the day. Mr. [redacted] returned two days later with the brake pads and a caliper requesting to have the parts replaced. We performed the service and noticed after the replacement parts were installed that there is a leak in one of the two rear brake hydraulic lines. The lines are both rusted/corroded severely and the one line is leaking due to this condition. The vehicle is sixteen years old with 200,000. mile on it. There is nothing negligent that was done by Car-x to cause the problem with the brake line.

Under the circumstances to resolve the complaint I will process a refund to Mr. [redacted] in the amount of $153.94. This was the full amount paid to Car-x.

Sincerely,

Consumer

[A default letter is provided here which indicates your acceptance of the business's response. If you wish, you may update it before sending it.]

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and accept the offer of refund. I do not agree with their misrepresentation of facts, however. They asked me to come back for a free inspection. Car-x should have examined the brakes before installing new ones, regardless. They were also aware from the verbal information provided that the brake pads may not be the issue. Just because I had bought the parts months earlier and had them in the car, has nothing to do with their responsibility to check before installing. Also, there is no excuse for not writing and getting approval for a work order prior to doing the job.

Review: We called around and priced out [redacted] tires and was quoted by Car X for a Goodyear tire. I had my daughter take the car to CarX to have the tire fixed and they put an Essex tire on instead of the Goodyear that was promised. I have the quotes from [redacted] and [redacted] for the [redacted] tire and they can verify that I would not except a replacement tire. I have already purchased one tire from [redacted] a couple of months ago and would not let them sell me a replacement because I want all matching tires. I feel like they took advantage of my 17 year old daughter. The company knew what we requested and put a different tire on the car. I did not question it because it takes 2 days to get special order tires in from [redacted] and that is how long it took for them to get the tire in. I work at [redacted] trust tax department and with the busy time at work, I had my daughter take the car in for replacement.Desired Settlement: I want to the Goodyear tire put on the car or the money back so I may go to a different store.

Review: Comment: I took my car back in Nov of 2012 when the car broke down. Less then 3 months later the car has broken down again. The transmission which CarX replaced began to fail. And since on their paper work the transmission was not under warrenty I took the car to another mechanic. Who told me that the transmission should never have been replaced because the whole undercarriage of the car was rusted out. When I contacted Carx they told me I should have brought the car back to them to let them fix it. The car was beyond repair. Not only was the under carriage rusted out, the rods for the tires were about to break, the seals were broken on the engine due to the fact that the Carx mechanics put 2 quarts over the recommended amount of transmission fluid in the car. Also the fact that the engine was ready to fall out of the car ect. When I spoke to Carx they said they would not refund my money, or do anything to help since I did not bring the car back to them to fix the problem. They basicly told me that the mechanic I took it to was lieing and there was nothing wrong with my car that they could not fix.Desired Settlement: What I want from them is my $2400 dollars back from them. Since they put me and my 7 year old son at risk

To Whom it may concern,

Car-X performed a repair on Mz. Frianti's 1997 Taurus on 11/07/12, we replaced her transmission with a used transmission to keep the cost down. When we did the repair there were a number of other items on the car that needed to be repaired and we informed her of this. The used transmission only caries a 30 day warranty, however if we would have been consulted that there was a problem with it we could have possibly done the repair under warranty. I was contacted about the failure of the transmission after she had already had the vehicle taken to the junk yard and scrapped. Without having an opportunity to see the vehicle there isn't anything I can do about it.

Sincerely,

Roger Franklin

Review: My car was towed to Car X to see why it wouldn't start. They called me and told me that I would need a new engine. The guy gave me a couple of places to call to see if I could get a engine and they would be able to put it in. My husband and I came and paid for the test and told him that he might be leave for the navy and someone will be coming to tow the car. The guy told us that we had two week to get the car since my husband was in the military from the day that we paid. We left and had someone go tow the car and they said that they couldn't let him tow the car. So when we came back to [redacted] a week later and now they are saying that the car is not there and they had to towed to an impound. Now the impound is saying that the car has been there for two weeks and they want three hundred dollars. We feel that Car X should of called and told us that they were sending the car to the impound or called us when we sent my brother in law there to tow the car for us. Since they didn't call I feel like they should pay to get the car out of the impound.Desired Settlement: They should pay to get my car out or if I have to pay they should pay me back and give me money for there mistake and our time coming back to [redacted] and having to pay the tow truck.

Response:

Mrs [redacted] I'm sorry but we would not have told anyone that they could not take your car. The only reason we would have to keep it is if there was money owed on it. The people who towed your car out are your friends and that was clear when the car was dropped off. We use and have used that same company for many many years. Every time they were dropping off another car in the time your car was there we asked them when we're they going to get your car off the lot? There response to us was that you folks didn't know where you were taking it. The car was in our lot over two months. We are not going to pay your bill in sorry and we did not charge you storage at ten dollars a day either. So talk to your friends at the tow company and maybe the can give you a little better deal.

Review: I purchased a set of new tires on 3/16/11 from the Car X on [redacted] with a 60,000 warranty from the manufacturer and have had them rotated and visually inspected every 2900 to 3100 miles by Car X. I inspected the tires after my last rotation on 8/28/12 to discover that all of the tires had less then 4/32 of tread left and the inside of all of the tires had no tread left on them. The tires at that point had only been used for 30,000 miles. I contacted the manufacturer who informed me that I would need to contact Car X to seek a warranty claim. I talked with the manager [redacted] regarding filing a warranty claim and how I found it unacceptable that my car left the shop on four unsafe tires especially since they had been rotated by Car X so frequently. After a week [redacted] said that he had heard back from the manufacturer and they would offer me a %50 discount on whatever tires that I wanted. After the replacement tires were paid for and installed I was informed that there was a severe alignment issue from a failed suspension bushing which was indicative based on the tread wear of the worn out tires. [redacted] no longer manages that location so I tried to explain to the new manager [redacted] that I appreciate the fact that I received my warranty entitled discount from the manufacturer on the tires but the reason why I needed a replacement set of tires in the first place was because the Car X technician missed the severe wear on the tires that he inspected and rotated. Based on how uniformly the uneven wear was on all 4 tires it must have been out of alignment for at least the last 4 or 5 rotations. Since the tire wear was ignored or neglected and alignment was never checked the wear on this bushing is so severe I now have to replace the entire swing arm on that corner of the car which adds an additional 40% to the overall cost of the suspension repair on top of installation costs of the replacement tires that I wouldn't need if alignment was addressed by Car X several rotations ago.Desired Settlement: I would like to be fully refunded for installation of my replacement tires. Car X negligence to inspect the tires caused the need for replacement. Also I would like to be refunded the cost of the sway arm that was replaced. Based on the wear on the original set of tires the car had been out alignment for the last 12k to 15k mi. The tell tale sign of the tread wear should have led to an alignment check which would have shown the worn bushing. As a result I now must replace the whole swing arm.

Review: Car-x changed the oil in my Cadillac when my son took it there whom they had not dealt with before because I had always taken the care in, but they stripped the drain plug. Did not charge my son for the oil change and put a temporary plug in and a sticker on the window. They told my son to not worry about paying for the oil change since they messed it up they would not charge him for the oil change and would call us as soon as the new oil pan came in....we called back several times spoke to [redacted] the manager he stated to me it had not come in yet and he would call when it did. well the oil drained out of the temporary plug and locked my motor up. When I had the car towed to car x I was met with denial that this happened at their shop(after telling me they would order the replacement pan) [redacted] was more than happy to charge me to fix my care as long as I paid for the new motor. [redacted] I spent 1800.00 at that shop in the last year keeping that car maintenance with everything they told me it needed including platinum plugs. I would have not ignored such a costly fix. could you help me please get some justice I am tired of being taken advantage of because I am a woman. I think I deserve more than just an oh well. I have sent a copy to Ohio Attorney General, [redacted] and Car-X. Thank you so much. [redacted]Desired Settlement: I would like the care fixed, or compensated and an apology.

Review: I took my [redacted] in for an oil change. A few minutes after leaving the shop, my oil pressure bottomed out and I started hearing a knocking sound coming from the engine. I called them and they said they would look at it if I brought it back. I was afraid to drive it any further so I declined. Later that evening, my mechanic looked at it and found that the oil was black and it had a dirty [redacted] oil filter on it. (I had my oil changed the previous time at [redacted] because Car x was booked up.) My point, they had not even changed the oil. The next morning (today) I called them to explain and ask why they lied and charged me for an oil change that I did not receive. The Manager told me that his "guys" wouldn't do that, basically calling me a liar. He said if I bring the [redacted] oil filter to him, he will take care of me. However he didn't explain what that meant. I asked if he could have a meeting with his employees about this because if they did that to me, they were probably doing it to others also. He refused and stated again that his guys wouldn't do that. I explained that I had been getting oil changes there for two years and had no reason to lie. He said that the guy that had worked on my car said he changed the oil and filter and that he believed him. Therefore, He thinks that I am lying.Desired Settlement: I want better training for their employees.I want a refund.I want some kind of reprimand to be given to the service technician who lied and cheated me out of something that I paid for.I want this bad review to remain public until that has happened as a warning to other potential customers that might also be getting ripped off.

Response:

Dear Mrs [redacted]

First off if what you say is accurate, I want to apologize, and assure you that I will refund your money and give your next oil change free if this happened. Please bring me your old filter and I will get this resolved ASAP for you. I am sorry for the inconvenice. It is true that I believe the guys would not ever have done this on purpose , but accidents can happen that's why I would like to handle this as quickly as possible.
