Certified Car Center, Inc. Reviews (42)

Review: I purchased a [redacted] vehicle from Certified Car Center, Inc. in [redacted], VA. By the time I drove home (4 hrs) the check engine light was on. I took the vehicle to a [redacted] Dealership and found that the tie rods were bad (needed replaced) and the battery cooler was broken (needed replaced). Neither problem was disclosed to me prior to leaving the lot, and both were potentially dangerous. In addition, the tires need re-inflated every two weeks (tires were also low, another check engine light within 3 hrs of leaving the lot) and the key I was given and was told only needed a battery was the wrong key for that year and make.

The costs of repairs were:

Door actuator: $278.12

Tie Rods: $ 135.00

Key: $ 136.00

for a total of: $ 549.12

I emailed the company 4-5 times without a response. I finally left a bad review online and suddenly Abdul A[redacted], the general manager got back to me.

He was very unprofessional... in his first email he complained about my trade in (book was 4k, he only gave me around 1k for it) and after a few emails back and forth he said he would mail me a check for $150.

I accepted, as I was happy to have some recognition that the vehicle they sold was not in good condition. Two weeks passed without receiving the check. I emailed again, and once again Mr. A[redacted] was belligerent, rude, unprofessional, and I felt attacked as a customer.

From his first email on August 27, 2014 (i had started emailing the company June 28, 2014. This was the first response I received)

At any rate, since you have already fixed the issues, I wouldn't be able to do mach on the repairs, however I can send you a check in the amount of $150 for your troubles. Please let me know what you like to do. FYI, Niko no longer works for us. I am sorry for the late respond, but I am glad you reached out.

From there it went down hill, and he only focused on the review.

On August 28, 2014:

I will mail the check to you today to the address provided.

August 29, 2014: (this is where his tone completely changed) Before this, the review was not mentioned at all.

[redacted],

I just received an email that you left us a Negative Review. I thought we agreed that I send you a refund and we leave it at that. . Now you leave a Negative Review. Would you like to tell me why that is?

after waiting two weeks, and contacting them again, Mr. A[redacted] was again rude and unprofessional.

Sept 12, 2014:

[redacted] Please don't speak of ethic, when you clearly displayed how you could be untrustworthy yourself. When we spoke via email and we both agreed on the refund check of $150 you did not have the professionalism nor the ethic of mentioning that you had left a Negative Review. You were well aware that it would have made me uneasy of why you would leave a review and demand refunds. If you want to black mail us with negative reviews I suppose that is how you perceive being ethical.

and...

Correction I was not aware of the review and reached out to you only on basis of customer service.

I appreciate the insults, I suppose having a PHD doesn't necessary teach an individual ethic nor manners. [redacted].

Abdul A[redacted] should not be in customer service. He has been very rude, unprofessional, unethical, and a liar.

These are issues that were found as soon as the vehicle was hooked up to the computer. I was not asking for anything more than to fix what they knew was broken. I do believe they were aware of these problems at the time of sale. Their behavior following the sale has been unsatisfactory.Desired Settlement: I would like the costs of repair, in the amount of $549.12

and a formal apology from Abdul A[redacted] for his lacking customer service skills. He does not abide by what the website describes: Certified Car Center was established with the intent of providing first-class customer service to pre-owned car buyers. Our staff is highly trained professionals who have one goal in mind to make sure that our customers are fully satisfied with their purchase from us. Our buyers hand pick every car to make sure we buy the best and to control our over head so we can pass the savings bucket to you. We provide special financing to all.

Response:

[redacted] purchased her [redacted] from us indeed in an "AS IS" Condition, she reached us and we told her due to the fact that she is far we would send her a refund check of $150. She agreed to accept that then she left us negative reviews and we tried to contact her again to see why that was. She become very abusive and starting to calling us names and being unethical and her approach of resolving this issue become very unprofessional so we believe that we have done what could to resolve her complain. She has sent us emails of leaving negative reviews and I, myself have tried very hard to reason with her, but she is very rude and condescending. I even told her I would be more than happy to send her the check if she promised via email to retract her emails and not leave any further reviews. It appears to me that she wants to take advantage of her position as a customer and black mailing us with bad reviews and now a complain to Revdex.com.

Review: [redacted]

I am rejecting this response because:Mr. A[redacted] again lies, even to the Revdex.com. I initially contacted the company on July 28, 2014; July 11, 2014; August 8, 2014 with no response from the company. At this point, I did leave a poor review online. I attempted to contact the company again on August 27. They finally responded (AFTER I left the negative review) on August 27 and offered $150. It should be noted that $150 was only 1/3 of the cost to fix the issues they did not disclose.

Review: I PURCHASED MY CAR 4/20/13. I WAS TOLD THAT I WOULD RECEIVE MY HARD TAGS WITHIN 10 DAYS. WELL MY 3DAY TEMP TAGS WERE EXPIRING IN MAY 2013 AND I WAS STILL TOLD THAT THEY WERE COMING, BUT THEY NEVER CAME AFTER 30 DAYS. THEN I WAS GIVEN ANOTHER SET OF 30 DAY TAGS. EVERY WEEK THEY WERE TELLING THAT MY HARD TAGS WILL BE THERE THURSDAY. WELL ANOTHER 30 DAYS WENT BY AND I WAS ISSUED ANOTHER SET OF 30 DAY TAGS. WELL THOSE 30 DAYS EXPIRE JULY 15TH AND THEY AREN'T ABLE TO GIVE ME NO MORE 30 DAY TAGS AND I STILL HAVEN'T RECEIVED MY HARD TAGS. I WENT THERE TODAY JULY 12 AND NOW THEY ARE SAYING THAT IT WILL BE HERE JULY 15 THE DAY THAT IT EXPIRE.I EXPLAINED TO THEM THAT IF IT ISN'T THERE THEN I WOULD KINDLY JUST WANT MY MONEY BACK. THE MANGER AND THE SALESMAN [redacted] ARE A BUNCH OF GIMICKS TRYING TO GET OVER. THEN ON ANOTHER NOTE MY CHECK ENGINE POPPED UP 3 DAYS AFTER I PURCHASED THE CAR. THE FINANCING COMPANY WILL NOT APPORVE THE LOAN UNTIL THEY FIX THE LIGHT. WELL TODAY THEY TRIED TO BE SLICK AND HOOD IT UP TO A CODE READER AND DELETED THE CODE. THE MANAGER SAID THAT THERE WASN'T A CODE, IT WAS JUST THE LIGHT ON. PRIOR TO THIS DATE I TOOK IT TO A GAS STATION WHERE I GOT MY EMISSONS DONE AND I TOOK IT TO [redacted] WHERE THEY HOOKED IT UP TO THE CODE READER. SO I'M CLUESLESS TO HOW ALL OF A SUDDEN THERE IS NO CODE.CERTIFIED CAR CENTER IS TRYING TO DO EVERYTHING POSSIBLE TO GET OVER ON PEOPLE. IF YOU DON'T KNOW NO BETTER THEN THEY WILL. HOWEVER, I'M PUTTING UP A FIGHT BECAUSE I REFUSE TO LOOSE THIS BATTLE.I'M TO THE POINT WHERE I JUST WANT MY MONEY BACK THAT I PUT DOWN FOR THE DOWN PAYMENT AND I WILL WALK AWAY WITH NO LOOKING BACK.Desired Settlement: I WANT MY DOWN PAYMENT AND MY TRADE IN MONEY BACK.

Response:

I did finally get my tags but its still the matter of the check engine light. The owner contacted me and was very angry that I reported his business to Revdex.com. He told me that I need to write a letter and to say the matter was resolved for we're going to deal with the situation the hard way. Which I don't know what that meant to I took it as a threat. So yes I did get my tags but my check engine light is still on and there customer service is very awful.
