Charity Towing and Recovery Reviews (57)

On Friday, 2/26/2016, my wife had called our insurance company as her front drivers side tire was flat The insurance company had contacted Charity towing at 6:pm By 8:pm, no truck had shown up, the tow company after many excuses said now the insurance company dispatched a flatbed They now had to dispatch another truck because the care was in the Airport Parking garage The "new" truck would be at the airport around 11:pm I went to stay with my wife at the airport as a unescorted woman in a parking garage is hardly a safe scenario, and once there, we called Charity towing again I respectfully asked the dispatcher (I think his name was Joshua...not sure) why it would take 1/hours to figure out why a flatbed wouldn't work and why it would take another hours for a truck to arrive at the airport I used "sir" often, and spoke very calmly, and he kept interrupting me I told him I understood the wrong vehicle was dispatched (which I didn't), and again asked, "may I ask, why is it going to take three hours for another truck" At that point, this man simply stated "I don't have to explain myself to you" and hung up We called back, no answer We called our insurance company, they placed us on hold, and they didn't go into specifics, but she said "he was acting sketchy....we cancelled the tow and dispatched a different company" The result? ABOUT TIME TOWING contacted us, asked our exact location and had a very clean truck to us in minutes The driver was extremely professional and hassle free I would like to ask, Charity Towing states they donate a percentage of each tow to charity...yet there is nothing listed on their website as to who or how much they've donated I will be researching this as well Lastly, I will utilize every possible social media outlet to leave honest reviews about our experience with Charity Towing Based on the Yelp Reviews I've seen thus far, the VAST MAJORITY of reviews are extremely negative, and all have the same theme.....misrepresentation about the timing of pick ups, lack of communication, and when all else fails, they hang up CLEARLY they don't care about customer service, the safety, or have any consideration of their customers time

This company was used by my vehicle's roadaide assistance programAnd they were issued the ticket to tow my carThey called and gave me an ETA after an hour had passed I called and followed up they said at that time minutes, the driver contacted me and said he was in routeAnother hour later I called the driver and he stated that they re routed his dispatchI then contact my roadside assistance and they told them that they cancelled the request, no phone calls were made to rely this informationI called the tow company and a female answered ans left the call on hold over minutes and then hung upWhen I called back twice they refuses to answerThis place is very unprofessional and unorganizedI would never recommend their services to anyone

PLEASE DONT WASTE YOUR TIME WITH THIS COMPANY Yesterday, as I was leaving work my car wouldn't start and was giving a lot of error codes, and the car is only years oldDue to us having road side assistance, we called them at around 3:PM, and they adv that someone would be here within the hour We never even heard a response from the company, so we then had to call them to make sure that someone was on their wayThey ensured us as that someone would be thereAfter about an hour and a half of just waiting, we called them again, and the agent on the phone said that the tow truck driver tried to get the car but no one was by the car( SUCH [redacted] BECAUSE WE WERE WAITING OUTSIDE OUR OFFICE BUILDING AND WE WERE IN FRONT IN THE DEGREE WEATHERWHAT KIND OF PERSON JUST MAKES STUFF UP LIKE THAT?) At this point we are so upset, the agent then assured us that someone would be here soonWe told her we didn't want anyone else to come, especially after that mess

I had gotten into a minor accident resulting in flat tires on my brand new Toyota corollaThrough Toyota Roadside assistance, I was assigned Charity Towing and Recovery to tow my car to the dealership to get fixedI told the Toyota roadside assistance representative, the dispatcher of the tow company, and the driver of the tow company that I had flat tires and that the car must be put on a flat bedThey told me someone would arrive within an hour of and a halfAfter waiting two hours with no tow truck in sight, the dispatcher called and said I could leave the car where it was and go home, everything would be taken care ofThe driver called all throughout the night, sounding incoherent, and when she finally got to the car hours later (at 4am) she asked me to sign a waiver over the phone for any damagesI told her I didn't feel comfortable doing so and that I would come down to where she was to make sure everything goes smoothly, and she quickly cut me off and said the car was already in towWhen I got to the auto body shop to look at my car I was absolutely mortified when I saw my car was damaged beyond beliefThe two back tires were ripped to shreds with no rubber left, and the rims were completely bentThe entire passenger side of the car was dented and had burnt rubber all along the sideTurns out, the tow truck company dragged my car at a high rate of speed for a long distance causing $5,worth in damage to my carAfter calling the tow company, the dispatcher admitted the car was not towed correctlyHowever, the owner got on the phone, yelled at me, called me a liar, and told me he was not taking liability for thisWhen I asked for his name he said "***" and when I asked for his last name he responded " [redacted] ***", clearly a sarcastic remark not wanting to give me his nameThe driver had since been firedI have never dealt with worse customer service in my lifeThis company did significant damage to my vehicle and it has now been a month of arguing and trying to get my car fixed as I cannot afford the damages this company has done to my car

My car would not start, so I called my insurance company as I have Roadside AssistanceThis was at 8:45amThey texted me that Charity Towing would be at my house at 10:25amAt 10:I get a call from Roadside that says the truck will be there in minutesAt 11:00am I call Charity Towing who have still not shown upThe girl tells me that they had a truck break down and someone would be there in a half hourAt 12:I get a call from Roadside saying they were sending another company and they would be out in an hour and a halfWhat??? She tells me that Charity Towing said that they couldn't take my car because it needed a different truck that they did not have availableI asked how they knew that when they hadn't been there to even see the car?!? She called Charity Towing and let me speak to the same rude woman I had earlier - who told me that the driver had been there, my car was on the street and he could not take itI told her that my car was in the garage, had been in the garage all morning and that I didn't know where her driver went but it was not my houseShe proceeds to yell at me that he driver was at MY address and that MY blue car was out frontShe then said "your dark blue car was parked in front"I told her that my car is light blue and she demanded a supervisor from the insurance agentI got dropped from the call in the shuffle, and then get another text that another company would be coming - IN TWO HOURS!!! Six hours for one tow all thanks to the rudeness, incompetence and shady business practices of Charity TowingMaybe insurance doesn't pay the same for them as a regular tow, but that doesn't mean they should leave people stranded

Worst company everLie about not finding the vehicle to tow, took hours to finally tow it, then broke numerous promises that they would get the vehicle there the next dayOnly to take the vehicle to their impound lot and hold it hostage until payment was madeDisgrace and should not be allowed to be in business

Charity Towing is the best towing business in Phoenix az Because I had the city of Phoenix come tow my vintage car from my home In take about $valuable from my back yard a after my birthday Then the city of Phoenix say we have clean your back yard But they take my vintage bike, vintage car , new electric gate motor , industry hoist , [redacted] 4speed transmission and bumper , 4xdeferential , [redacted] table , vintage industrial work bench Some metal art Charity Towing was nice of enough to give me more time get my old car out of impound sooner ?? My name [redacted] I just hope next year will be a lot better then this year ??Thank you Charity Towing all of you help

This towing company left my daughter stranded at the side of the road for over two hours and then said they weren't coming at all They are a subcontractor for Pep Boys I can't believe a national company like Pep Boys would contract a towing company like this

DishonestDo not use themLied to me and Hyundai stating that they were here when they were notStood by their lies even when confronted by me and HyundaiFind a different towing company

I was referred to Charity Towing by my insurance company They lied to my insurance company about being on scene when, in fact, they were no where in the area I received a call from the company almost an hour after they reported they were on scene and after I had cancelled them and secured a new towing service Upon my arrival back to the vehicle, there was a message from another motorist that they witnessed a Charity Towing truck driving into my rear bumper Unfortunately, the message left was not signed and so I must repair the damage unreimbursed and the company continues to provide unscrupulous services Please beware

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANYIf this company has been dispatched to you by your insurance company, CANCEL IMMEDIATELY AND GO WITH ANY OTHER COMPANYWe have been with *** for 50+ years and unfortunately they don't know any better not to have Charity Towing as one of their contractorsMy daughter waited hours this morning and working in a mobile business I understand things go wrongBut this company made excuse after excuse and promise after promise to no availThey disconnected her the first call and not only lied to ***, they lied to her saying they were any minute awayTwo hours passedShe spoke to a woman named "***" and she was kind at firstShe explained they were sending a new tow truck out and that the other man that was supposed to be there was fired and blah blah blahMy daughter is not a confrontational person at all but at this point she was emotional because she had already missed hours of workThis woman turned on her when she mentioned *** possibly sending out a new tow truck and whichever company got to her first would tow her truckShe immediately went into defensive mode saying that they were a busy business and that she would have to cancel my daughter's requestNo excuse to ever have a terrible attitude with a customer that is just pleading for helpShe went out of her way to cancel it and my daughter gets a call from *** saying that it was cancelledAt this point she is hysterical and cannot believe all of the grief this company has given herAfter scanning over these reviews I'm surprised this company isn't already put out of business by their lack of simple communication and customer serviceTheir management is obviously lacking basic company ethics and values as well if they are this unmoved by their customer's complaintsTAKE PRIDE IN YOUR BUSINESS AND DO BETTER FOR YOUR PEOPLEShe finally got a call from one of Charity's drivers that he made it to the location at 11:30amHer first request was made at 7:20am and the first ETA was 8:34amAt this point she had already been picked up by ***r *** *** (Very kind people and good business) and was almost to workDO NOT USE THIS COMPANY

well, NO WONDER this business isn't Revdex.com accreditedThis 'business' is a damn jokeWe called our insurance provider because our car broke down on the U.SWestbound and they told us it would be an ETA of about an hour until the tow truck came by to tow it to the houseOur credit card information was taken immediately and we were told to waitAnd wait we didAfter an hour we called the tow truck company to figure out what the hell was taking so long and were told that they contacted the driver and he was en route and it would be another mins...ok fine, we waited...then after mins, called them back and this time demanded to speak to a supervisor because it was becoming clear that this company was severely lacking in any sense and logicSupervisor pretty much said the ETA was an hr and thirty mins, and yes, the driver was (at this point) mins later than that and that she can't really do anything but try and contact him (AGAIN)Are you kidding me?!?!? we're sitting out here in the arizona heat for the past hours and you're telling me there's not ONE tow truck driver within mins from us, that you can dispatch? I hung up and called State Farm and told them they need to drop CHARITY TOWING because they suck and can't even find parked cars on the side of the U.SWThis is absolutely unacceptable and VERY unprofessional to tell paying customers that they're SOL because the tow truck driver is an itAfter I contacted State Farm, they 3-way called another tow truck company APACHE SANDS and the driver was there within MINSNow you tell me the differenceYou have a tow truck company who says the driver didn't 'see us' and you have a completely different tow truck company who not only found us, but was there within minsDISGUSTING excuse for a companyI absolutely hope you go out of businessI am surprised that you ppl have a 1-star...you deserve zero starsLearn how to do your jobs, because you absolutely SUCK at itDon't ever use Charity TowingThey are a waste of time and garbage companyhours of waiting and no one from their company showed up or evern offered to do ANYTHING about our situation

On February 27, 2016, I requested a tow truck thru my insurance company's roadside service My request was routed to Charity Towing of Phoenix I was told by the Roadside Service that per the contract the tow could be as long as minutes away I waited at my disabled vehicle for over hours and minutes and a tow never arrived I called Charity Towing twice Once after an hour and then again after two hours Each time I was told that a driver would call me back with an ETA I never received a single call with an ETA or any indication that the truck would be seriously delayed Finally I took a cab home, called the Roadside Service back and canceled Charity Towing

On 10/7, Ford Roadside Assistance dispatched Charity Towing to my location at approximately 9:30pm Charity Towing's ETA was 11:05pm I was given the phone number, (602) 242-7489, for Charity Towing to contact with any questions At approximately 10:00pm, I called Charity Towing to get a better ETA and to give better directions to my location There was no answer and the voicemail was full, so I sent a text message, and got no response At approximately 10:40pm, I called Ford Roadside Assistance to see if they could get in contact with Charity to get a better ETA as I had to leave my vehicle Ford stated it took them calls to get Charity Towing to answer the phone They stated their driver was minutes away I went out to my vehicle and waited Approximately minutes later, I called Ford again, and they, once again, made numerous calls to Charity, and when they finally answered, Charity Towing advised Ford that they did not have the equipment to tow my vehicle, so they cancelled the tow The entire reason for Charity Towing to be dispatched was to tow my vehicle They never should have responded to the request if they did not have the equipment to tow a vehicle They should have advised Ford to request another towing company on their list to come to my location It appears that Charity Towing is known for this type of business practice I was left in a dark street, for over hours due to their lack of response, or ability to do their job They should have refused the call and let another towing company take the job if they had no intention of responding They are putting Ford's customer's lives in danger by leaving them stranded, with a glimmer of hope that a tow truck is on the way, when they in fact are not responding They are a horrible company, with reviews to back up any negative experience they may have They lie on their Facebook page about being rated with an A+ by the Revdex.com, which you can see here is absolutely not true They lie to the public and are doing no good I would like someone to look into their business practices as I believe there are fraudulent activities taking place within the business, between the business owner, their tow drivers, and the many roadside assistance companies they work with I am outraged that this business can even operate

I can see by their rating their service is as horrible as their road courtesyI was driving home from work the incompetent driver gunned out of a drive way almost slamming into my car then as if that wasn't enough almost ran me over trying to get into my lane then once in front of me kept speeding up and slamming on his brake I called the police and the office the person answering the phone said she had just gotten other complaints and she would have the owner call me back almost hours ago! Disgusting and rude would never trust them with my vehicle!!!

Mr*** * ***I am sorry you had such a bad experience Sounds like you have a couple different issues The first problem is that there is absolutely no parking in front of the houses as you are well aware No matter if you were just going in for food or there all
night No parking at anytime, means no parking no matter the length of time As far as the driver "taking your car for a night on the town" is incorrect We have many properties that we service and the driver was checking on the properties as he was making his way to the yard This is call efficiency Drivers do this as a way to maximize their time If there are any other issues please feel free to call my office and ask for Ronald Guerra and I will be glad to answer any other questions you may have regarding our operating procedures Regards, Ron G***General Manager
