CFP can get an author publishedDecent cover, and monthly paymentsI had a great agent, Taylor, who helped me through the processCons:
-The editing is deplorableCFP editors caused more problems with my manuscript than there were originallyThe editors do not seem professional and rely more on author input than the official Chicago Manual of StyleA good copy editor/content editor should be able to preserve author voice while focusing on current issues such as dialogue tags, information dumping etcI now have a book that I'm NOT proud of because, when I wrote it, I didn't know about these issuesI believe that CFP editors should have informed me that this would not make the manuscript the best that it can be-In my opinion, CFP is not fully upfrontThey promise that they'll take royalties only AFTER the author recoups his/her investment cost but, in reality, it's doubtful that any doI think it would be better for CFP to tell prospective authors upfront that they'll take "X" amount than to lure them in with the thought that they MAY recoup their investment costsBe honestBe transparentMeanwhile, they've already got your money so there's no loss on their endFurthermore, each copy of the book ordered by the author is sold at a "Wholesale" rate of a 50% discount off retailThis can easily lead to CFP making a profit from its authors of several dollars per copyFor example, they wanted to retail my book at about (a paperback, keep in mind) claiming that this would result in higher royalties on my endWhile that's true, the actual production cost of my book can't be more than Each copy I order costs me which makes me wonder where the difference is going-After publication I felt that I was just dropped/forgotten with the exception of receiving a few emails about CFP's new marketing servicesIn short, it's not a company I plan to do business with in futureAnd I don't plan to pay their renewal fee just to keep my book on the marketI've paid about $3,000+ and earned less than $in royalties after almost years Was it worth it? In my opinion, no

My experience with CFP has been more then pleasingI have been truly blessed by the experience they allowed me to haveMy specialist Scott P*** was such a kind, understand and I must say more than patient person, he always went over and beyond explaining things to me that I was overwhelmed with, and because of him I will be returning to CFP with the second book!
