-The editing is deplorableCFP editors caused more problems with my manuscript than there were originallyThe editors do not seem professional and rely more on author input than the official Chicago Manual of StyleA good copy editor/content editor should be able to preserve author voice while focusing on current issues such as dialogue tags, information dumping etcI now have a book that I'm NOT proud of because, when I wrote it, I didn't know about these issuesI believe that CFP editors should have informed me that this would not make the manuscript the best that it can be-In my opinion, CFP is not fully upfrontThey promise that they'll take royalties only AFTER the author recoups his/her investment cost but, in reality, it's doubtful that any doI think it would be better for CFP to tell prospective authors upfront that they'll take "X" amount than to lure them in with the thought that they MAY recoup their investment costsBe honestBe transparentMeanwhile, they've already got your money so there's no loss on their endFurthermore, each copy of the book ordered by the author is sold at a "Wholesale" rate of a 50% discount off retailThis can easily lead to CFP making a profit from its authors of several dollars per copyFor example, they wanted to retail my book at about (a paperback, keep in mind) claiming that this would result in higher royalties on my endWhile that's true, the actual production cost of my book can't be more than Each copy I order costs me which makes me wonder where the difference is going-After publication I felt that I was just dropped/forgotten with the exception of receiving a few emails about CFP's new marketing servicesIn short, it's not a company I plan to do business with in futureAnd I don't plan to pay their renewal fee just to keep my book on the marketI've paid about $3,000+ and earned less than $in royalties after almost years Was it worth it? I was extremely saddened by the entire process as I had high hopes for a Christian company to properly aid me in the highlighting of God's word as the centerpiece through my devotional, but sadly I was given tremendously poor editing services as the editor[s] were actually altering the words of quoted Bible verses, submitting misspelled cover pages, and just executing a grave lack of attention in listening to what I as the author desired the words in my book to expressOnce the book was published, there was minimal advertising on the book and the only sales that I saw being made were during the dates and times that I instituted a media blitz on social media, the other times, my book sales were silent with very little push from the company to even sell the book in the first placeI also wasn't even told when my book date was being released and found out through a mutual friend that my book was on iTunes with a misspelled cover page for the world to see (even though I had already expressed changes to be made before the book was released to the public)A positive that I could give was that I did enjoy the cover page design as I felt CFP did execute my requests properly and was satisfied with the results of the design However overall, I am more sad than angry at the entire process as I read positive reviews on Revdex.com from other clients and wonder "Why wasn't this courteous and professionalism granted to me?"My husband and I could barely afford the finances associated with publishing my book through this company, and if I could do it over again, I would have gone elsewhere, sadly, since the money and the production and product associated to the promises this company made never added up

Editing and cover design were my prioritiesThey also turned out to be the most enjoyable for me as I learned what the process of editing was first hand and I learned the proper way to write in a formal mannerThe designed turned out to be rather exciting as I didn't know exactly what to expectHowever, with merely the simplest of descriptions the cover is precisely what I had in mind and reflected what I was trying to conveyInsofar as picking a publisher I was interested in a facility that could accomplish all the aspects of getting a book published in houseCFP did provide this service and with the convenience of an installment plan for payment CFP was kind of a no brainerPaula exceeded my expectations throughout the process and kept me apprised of every stepPaula answered every email expeditiously and provided a speedy resolutionCFP exceeded all of my expectations and I fully intend to seek out CFP to publish my second book which is 99% completeI have also already made two recommendations to other perspective authors to inquire with CFP

I am not a writer, but I wanted to put my journal into a book in order to give to my family and friends to explain to them why I am no longer a Mormon and why I am now a Christian. It is called: Finding God's Truth. The problems I had with CFP were:

1. Many of my pictures turned out dark. They did fix some of them.

2. I paid $3,000 for them to edit and produce my book. But, I did most of the editing myself. I kept finding mistakes that I felt they should have caught. Again, I am not a writer but I was paying for them to find the mistakes. There are still some small grammatical errors in my book.

3. Again, I did not do this to make money, but to inform my family and friends why I am no longer Mormon. But, CFP promised I would receive royalties from any books sold. They put my book on Amazon. I know a few people who ordered my book, yet I never received any royalties. I bought one book off Amazon through the publisher and I never received a royalty. I did notice other companies were selling my book. I wrote one of them and they said they acquired my book from a wholesaler. I realized, all this meant was that I will never receive a royalty from my book, but other people will make money off of me.

I feel like CFP is a scam. Yes, they will produce your book. Yes, you will receive some copies of your book. No, you won't receive any royalties. It has been over two years since my book was put on Amazon and I have never received any royalties. But, Yes, other people will use your work to make money. I would like the rights to my book back so that I can find a real editor and publisher and for the publisher (CFP) to be unable to no longer sell my book through Amazon.

This is a legitimate complaint on CFP. After posting my problems with CFP on a site that is about reviews and scams and how to help you having this same issue. CFP attorney (leave your name out. It's probably defamation of character by you standards) are attacking me now. I am disabled and I was ripped off by CFP. They tried to get me to sign a letter of release which I did not, they were trying to take advantage of a disabled person. They have over 1400 dollars of mine. In my state this is Grand Larceny. This is not a Joke this is a real issue. This isn't defamation of character towards this company or those working for CFP. Let me ask a simple question - Do you think it is possible for a president of a company to not know people are being ripped off in his company? Simple question how is it possible? There problem is that they are being exposed and they don't like it. SO they want to serve me with a lawsuit because I spoke out here. It's up to you use this company if you want. I have legal rights. I am seeking justice and for this I am being silenced. Good luck using CFP. What a great company!
