Complaint: 12524084
I am rejecting this response because: Revdex.com:Since filing this complaint, I have been refunded all the money that was owed. I am pleased that this was resolved quickly. I am, however, still offended by this company's deceptive practices having charged me several times after I canceled service and furthermore, having somehow been able to process charges on a card that had been expired for several weeks when they charged it. From other complaints/reviews I have read, these were not isolated incidents but are, ostensibly, routine practices. Once caught by individuals that have been overcharged, they do seem to process refunds quickly but it stands to reason that not everyone that gets overcharged catches it and/or takes steps to retrieve those overcharges from this company, which appears to be the point of the overcharges in the first place. I believe that this company's business plan is based on deception and fraud. The name of their site is "clickfreescore," which is deceptive because their "service" isn't "free" at all. There are numerous other companies that do provide a truly free credit score and even credit monitoring service, yet this company charges either $29.95 a month (as in my case) or $39.95 a month (as in some of the other cases I've read) for poor service compared to the truly free services. I found their service to be poor because I received only one monitoring notification from this company the week I signed up. If I had received regular notifications, or any other notifications at all in the five months they were charging me, it would have been clear far sooner that they did not cancel my service as they were supposed to. I otherwise did not use their service at all. I only signed up because I thought it was a requirement to access a rental property site when in reality I had been redirected with the clickfreescore popup that had nothing to do with the rental site when I tried to sign up for the rental property site. I had no use for this service otherwise as I was not trying to monitor my credit but access a rental property site and I did not use their service at all. It costs $1.00 to sign up for one week of service. They charge a monthly fee after that (in my case $29.95) and after seeing the first charge, I begrudgingly accepted that this company had legitimately, though deceptively, charged me $30.95. I chalked it up to a lesson learned and promptly tried to cancel this service. When I was unable to do so online, I called them and canceled over the phone, which should have been the end of it. But they proceeded to charge me four more times and one of those charges was somehow successfully processed by this company on an expired card. They make it very easy to sign up for their service, which is done online, but very difficult to cancel, which cannot be done online but requires you to expend more of your valuable time and contact them by phone, which as in my case, is still no guarantee that they will cancel your service despite what you are told. I appreciate that they did make me whole by quickly refunding the money owed. But they shouldn't have charged me in the first place once I canceled my service requiring me to spend a significant amount of my time trying to recover those ill-gotten funds. Lastly, I do not appreciate this company's response. In it, they take no responsibility for having charged me four times after I called to cancel my service, which I have the phone records to prove and which they have a recording of that call to verify if the call center staff can be believed. They claim to have refunded one of the four fraudulent charges "as a courtesy" when they legitimately owed me that money. It is not a "courtesy" to return money that you have stolen. The reason that they didn't refund that fourth charge initially when I called them to demand they refund me for charges they shouldn't have made in the first place because I had canceled my service is because, despite that I could see my entire payment history when I log onto their own site, the call center claims that they can only see back three months (when queries several times, call center staff did not know why they could not see further back than three months). They initially implied that, for this reason, they would not be able to refund the fourth illegitimate charge because it had occurred more than three months ago. It was only when I would not accept this and demanded to speak to a supervisor that they begin to take steps to refund me the fourth charge. The company's response makes no mention of the fact that they charged me four separate times illegitimately after I canceled my service, they take no responsibility for having made those illegitimate charges and they do not apologize for having done so and for not having canceled my service when they were supposed to after I called them to do just. As such, I do not accept the company's response. Sincerely, Troy [redacted]

Ms. [redacted] signed up for our 7 day trial on December 7th.  She was billed after 8 days, on December 15th.  Her first call to us was on December 15.  She was immediately canceled, thus stopping any future billing, however access to the account was still available.  Ms. [redacted] is...

Ms. [redacted] signed up on 11/12/17 at 4:50pm for a 7-day trial. On that same day, at 5:26pm, Ms. [redacted] called our toll free number but did not speak to a customer service agent.  Our system noted that, and a customer service agent attempted to call her back that same day at 5:48pm, however reached...

her voicemail.  Other than this single attempt within 1 hour of her sign-up, we have no record of Ms. [redacted] calling our toll free customer-service number, the direct customer service numbers listed on the Revdex.com review page where she filed her complaint. . Other people who signed up for our program during this period were able to reach us without incident or complaint. Ms. [redacted] had 7 days to try to return our call, but instead she asked the Revdex.com to cancel her account for her. Of course, Ms. [redacted]’s account was canceled prior to the end of the trial and was never charged any monthly fees.

This is complaint is invalid an should be removed for the following reasons.1. Mr. [redacted] signed up for our program on 10/25/2017 providing the same North Carolina address, phone number and email address he uses on his Revdex.com complaint.  2. He agreed to the terms and authorized the billing.  3....

Our service is only intended for customers in the US. It is not applicable to people overseas. One cannot sign up for our program with an overseas address. If Mr. [redacted] is overseas, he should not have signed up for our program with a US address. And if he had given an overseas address, he would not have been able to sign up.4. Mr. [redacted] is not saying he could not call us, he is saying he prefers not to. Although he says he prefers not to call customer service numbers in the US from overseas because "I get on hold and loss my calling credits," he clearly did not attempt to call us, since our toll free number will not accept calls from overseas at all.5. Mr. [redacted] is claiming we have no email address. Our email address is readily available, and even included on the Revdex.com page on which Mr. [redacted] made his complaint. The Revdex.com itself displays our email address.6. As he admits, he signed up for our program, gave a US. address, and willingly accepted the terms of the program. He made no attempt to cancel although he had the opportunity to do so.As a courtesy to the customer, we have issued the requested refund, since if he is overseas he certainty cannot us our service (please allow 7-10 days to process). But we respectfully ask that the complaint be removed as invalid.

The customer has been cancelled and will not be billed any further for the services.

The payment details are clear and conspicuous on our home page as well as on the payment page.  We state clearly the date the trial ends, the monthly amount after the trial and the toll free number to call to cancel.  This is not in small print.  Mr. [redacted] called on 11/25/17...

requesting 3 refunds.  We refunded him as requested at that time.   It is our understanding that he is now requesting a refund of the fourth charge. As a courtesy we will refund that charge as well. Please allow 7-10 days for the refund to process.

[redacted] signed up for our services in October 2016, which she is not disputing.  On October 27, 2016 she called and was immediately cancelled.  She has not received any new charges since that time.   Our call notes indicate that she called on May 5, 2017 and again on June 2,...

2017 requesting a refund.  Our terms and conditions states that a customer can cancel at any time, however we do not offer prorated refunds.  While that is our policy, a courtesy refund was issued for both the $29.95 charge as well as the $1.00.

On June 2nd, [redacted] called our company requesting to be canceled and refunded.   Mr. [redacted] was immediately canceled and refunded on that day.  That same day, [redacted] made his complaint to the Revdex.com, which was received by us on June 5th.   Because we fulfilled [redacted]...

[redacted]’s desired settlement in advance of him filing his complaint and our receiving the complaint, we believe the complaint is invalid and should be removed.

I am rejecting this response because: I was not issued a refund when I called. I called the day I started my trial and they told me it was cancelled when it really wasnt. You took money from my account a week later when it should have been cancelled. I called again and talk to a man who told me there I had not called and cancelled. (Which I did). He told me he could cancel it, but I would not receive a refund. I did not receive an email about a refund until this morning (4/2/2018). Which was after I filed a complaint on this website. I reject your message because your company likes to take peoples money with no remorse. You only refunded me because you don't want bad reviews on your company. I appreciate you sending a refund, but I still dont agree with your business techniques. Thank you
Sincerely,
[redacted]
